AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

When existing protectors contain multiple wiring materials in a non-standard configuration in the accommodation space, they cannot effectively latch the cover components, resulting in the risk of non-standard configuration at the factory.

Method used

A protector is designed, which includes a cover member with a protrusion and a locking mechanism. In the case of non-standard configuration, the peripheral surface of the second wiring material contacts the protrusion, preventing the locking mechanism from transitioning from the non-locking state to the locking state, thereby preventing the cover member from being locked.

Benefits of technology

This design ensures that the cover component cannot be locked on the protector body when multiple wiring materials are configured in a non-standard manner, thereby preventing the occurrence of non-standard configurations and helping the operator to identify and correct the configuration of the wiring materials.

[0044] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the protector involved in the present invention will be described based on the accompanying drawings. In addition, the present invention is not limited to this embodiment. In addition, the constituent elements in the following embodiments include elements that can be easily thought of by a person skilled in the art or substantially the same elements.

[0045] [Implementation Method]

[0046] Figure 1It is a plan view of the protector 1 according to the present embodiment. Figure 2 It is an exploded perspective view of the protector 1 according to the present embodiment. Figure 3 This is a perspective view of a state where the first wiring material W1 and the second wiring material W2 are accommodated in the accommodation space 2s in a standard arrangement. Figure 4 This is a perspective view of a state where the first wiring material W1 and the second wiring material W2 are accommodated in the accommodation space 2s in a non-standard arrangement.

[0047] In the following description, Y is the opposing direction in which a pair of main body side wall portions 22a and 22b in the protector main body 2 of the protector 1 involved in the present embodiment are opposed. In addition, Z is an orthogonal direction orthogonal to the opposing direction Y in the protector 1 involved in the present embodiment. On this basis, the orthogonal direction Z is the loading and unloading direction of the cover part 3 relative to the protector main body 2. More specifically, one direction Z1 in the orthogonal direction Z is the assembly direction of the cover part 3 relative to the protector main body 2, and the other direction Z2 in the orthogonal direction Z is the disassembly direction of the cover part 3 relative to the protector main body 2. In addition, X is the extension direction of the first wiring material W1 in the protector 1 involved in the present embodiment, and is the extension direction of the second wiring material W2. In the protector 1 involved in the present embodiment, the extension direction X, the opposing direction Y and the orthogonal direction Z are orthogonal to each other.

[0048] Figure 1 The protector 1 according to the present embodiment shown is assembled in a wiring harness WH1 mounted on a vehicle such as an automobile, and protects wiring materials W as first wiring materials W1 and second wiring materials W2. For example, in order to connect various devices mounted on the vehicle, the wiring harness WH1 is a collection component that bundles a plurality of wiring materials W used for power supply and signal communication, and connects the plurality of wiring materials W to the various devices using connectors or the like.

[0049] The wire harness WH1 of the present embodiment comprises: a first wiring material W1 having a conductive first core material Wa1; a second wiring material W2 having a conductive second core material Wa2; and a protector 1 for protecting the first wiring material W1 and the second wiring material W2 from the outside. The first wiring material W1 and the second wiring material W2 are, for example, made of electric wires. The electric wires, for example, are made of a plurality of conductive metal wires, i.e., core materials Wa1 and Wa2, which are made of conductive metal wires, by means of insulating covering parts Wb1 and Wb2 (see FIG. 1 ). Figure 3 ).like Figure 3As shown, the first wiring material W1 has a first peripheral surface (peripheral surface) W1o. In addition, the second wiring material W2 has a second peripheral surface (peripheral surface) W2o. In addition, the wiring harness WH1 can also be configured to include a connector, an electrical connection box, a grommet, a fixing device, etc. Below, the structure of the protector 1 is described in detail with reference to each figure.

[0050] The protector 1 is formed of a synthetic resin material having insulating properties. The protector 1 of this embodiment includes a first wiring material W1 and a second wiring material W2 as wiring materials W to be protected. Figure 3 As shown, the second diameter (diameter) R2 of the second wiring material W2 is larger than the first diameter (diameter) R1 of the first wiring material W1. The protector 1 includes a protector body 2, a cover member 3, a locking mechanism 4, and a guide mechanism 5.

[0051] The protector body 2 is formed in a flow channel shape. Furthermore, the protector body 2 has a bottom 21 and a pair of main body side wall portions 22a, 22b opposed in the opposing direction Y. The bottom 21 is formed in a flat plate shape. Each main body side wall portion 22a, 22b is formed in a flat plate shape. In addition, the protector body 2 has a storage space 2s for accommodating the first wiring material W1 and the second wiring material W2 and an opening and closing opening portion 23 that connects the storage space 2s to the outside. Furthermore, a pair of main body side wall portions 22a, 22b are opposed in the opposing direction Y across the bottom 21. Each main body side wall portion 22a, 22b protrudes from the end of the bottom 21 in the opposing direction Y toward one side of the orthogonal direction Z (more specifically, the disassembly direction Z2 side).

[0052] For example, when the first wiring material W1 and the second wiring material W2 are to be inserted into the storage space 2s, the opening and closing opening 23 is opened by the cover member 3, and after the wiring material W is inserted into the storage space 2s, the opening and closing opening 23 is closed by the cover member 3. The opening and closing opening 23 is formed at one end of the protector body 2 in the orthogonal direction Z. In other words, the opening and closing opening 23 is formed on the side opposite to the side where the bottom 21 is formed in the orthogonal direction Z. That is, the opening and closing opening 23 is formed on the disassembly direction Z2 side of the body side wall portions 22a, 22b.

[0053] Furthermore, the protector body 2 has a plurality of insertion openings 24 that connect the storage space 2s to the outside and allow the first wiring material W1 and the second wiring material W2 to be inserted. The protector 1 according to the present embodiment has three insertion openings 24. In the protector 1 according to the present embodiment, the first insertion opening 24a and the second insertion opening 24b are provided at both ends in the longitudinal direction of the protector 1, and the third insertion opening 24c is provided in the middle of the longitudinal direction.

[0054] Figure 1 , Figure 2 The cover member 3 shown opens and closes the opening closure portion 23. More specifically, the cover member 3 can be in a closed state in which the storage space 2s of the protector body 2 is closed by closing the opening closure portion 23, and can be in an open state in which the storage space 2s of the protector body 2 is opened by opening the opening closure portion 23.

[0055] The cover member 3 includes a top 31, a cover side wall portion 32, and a protruding portion 33. The top 31 is formed in a flat plate shape. The cover side wall portion 32 is formed in a flat plate shape. A pair of cover side wall portions 32 involved in this embodiment are provided on the cover member 3. More specifically, a pair of cover side wall portions 32a and 32b are opposed to each other in the opposing direction Y across the top 31. Each cover side wall portion 32a and 32b protrudes from the end of the top 31 in the opposing direction Y toward the other side of the orthogonal direction Z (more specifically, the assembly direction Z1 side).

[0056] The cover member according to the present embodiment has the cover side wall portions 32a, 32b overlapping the main body side wall portions 22a, 22b when viewed from the opposing direction Y. That is, when viewed from the opposing direction Y, the cover member 3 has the cover side wall portions 32a, 32b overlapping at least one of the pair of main body side wall portions 22a, 22b.

[0057] The top portion 31 is opposed to the bottom portion 21 of the protector body 2 in the above-mentioned closed state. More specifically, the top portion 31 is opposed to the bottom portion 21 of the protector body 2 in the orthogonal direction Z in the above-mentioned closed state.

[0058] The protrusion 33 protrudes from the top 31 toward the bottom 21 side in the above-mentioned closed state. The protrusion 33 involved in the present embodiment is formed in a flat plate shape. Moreover, the protrusion 33 is arranged to close a part of the third insertion opening 24c arranged in the middle of the length direction of the protector 1. In addition, the protrusion 33 connects the top 31 with the cover side wall 32a. Moreover, in the orthogonal direction Z of the above-mentioned closed state, the protrusion 33 has a contact surface 33f on the bottom 21 side. The contact surface 33f is inclined relative to the orthogonal direction Z in a manner toward the cover side wall 32a, 32b as it moves from the top 31 side toward the bottom 21 side. When viewed from the extension direction X, the protrusion 33 involved in the present embodiment is formed into a roughly triangular shape having a base on the top 31 side and a vertex on the bottom 21 side.

[0059] The amount of protrusion 33 from the top surface of the cover member 3 located on the storage space 2s side to the assembly direction Z1 side is set as follows. That is, the amount of protrusion 33 is set so that when a plurality of wiring materials W are arranged in the storage space 2s in a standard arrangement, the contact surface 33f of the protrusion 33 does not contact the first peripheral surface W1o of the first wiring material W1, and on the other hand, when a plurality of wiring materials W are arranged in the storage space 2s in a non-standard arrangement, the contact surface 33f of the protrusion 33 contacts the second peripheral surface W2o of the second wiring material W2.

[0060] The locking mechanism 4 locks the cover member 3 to the protector body 2. Figure 2 As shown, the locking mechanism 4 includes a locking claw 41 and a locking receiving portion 42 provided so as to be lockable with the locking claw 41. A plurality of locking mechanisms 4 are provided at intervals along the extending direction X of the first wiring material W1.

[0061] More specifically, among the plurality of locking mechanisms 4 according to the present embodiment, a locking mechanism 4 is provided adjacent to each insertion opening 24 , and another locking mechanism 4 is provided between the locking mechanisms 4 provided adjacent to each insertion opening 24 .

[0062] The locking mechanism 4 of the present embodiment is provided with a locking claw 41 on the protector body 2, and a locking receiving portion 42 on the cover member 3. Moreover, the protector 1 of the present embodiment is provided with the locking receiving portion 42 and the protrusion 33 in one piece. That is, in the cover member 3 of the present embodiment, the top 31, a pair of cover side wall portions 32a, 32b, the protrusion 33 and the locking receiving portion 42 are formed in one piece by a synthetic resin material. Moreover, to explain more specifically, the protrusion 33 connects the top 31 with the locking receiving portion 42, and functions as a rib that improves the rigidity of these top 31 and the rigidity of the locking receiving portion 42.

[0063] The guide mechanism 5 includes a guide claw 51 and a guide receiving portion 52 into which the guide claw 51 can be inserted. When the cover member 3 is assembled to the protector body 2, before the locking claw 41 is locked with the locking receiving portion 42, the guide mechanism 5 inserts the guide claw 51 into the guide receiving portion 52 and guides the locking claw 41 toward the locking hole of the locking receiving portion 42.

[0064] Next, in the protector 1 according to the present embodiment, a case where the first wiring material W1 and the second wiring material W2 are accommodated in the accommodation space 2 s and the cover member 3 is locked to the protector body 2 by the locking mechanism 4 will be described.

[0065] First, the operator inserts the first wiring material W1 into the accommodation space 2 s by opening and closing the opening 23 .

[0066] Next, the operator inserts the second wiring material W2 into the storage space 2s by opening and closing the opening 23. That is, in this case, the first wiring material W1 and the second wiring material W2 are stored in the storage space 2s in a non-standard arrangement.

[0067] Next, after inserting the distal end of the guide claw 51 into the guide receiving portion 52 , the operator moves the cover member 3 in the assembling direction Z1 relative to the protector body 2 , and brings the locking receiving portion 42 close to the locking claw 41 in the orthogonal direction Z.

[0068] However, for the operator, in the middle of the transition from the non-stuck state to the locked state, if Figure 4 As shown, since the second circumferential surface W2o of the second wiring material W2 is in contact with the protrusion 33, the transition to the locked state is restricted. In this state, for example, the locking claw 41 of the other main body side wall portion 22b of the pair of main body side wall portions 22a, 22b and the locking receiving portion 42 of the other cover side wall portion 32b of the pair of cover side wall portions 32a, 32b are in a locked state. On the other hand, the locking claw 41 of one main body side wall portion 22a of the pair of main body side wall portions 22a, 22b and the locking receiving portion 42 of one cover side wall portion 32a of the pair of cover side wall portions 32a, 32b are in a non-locked state. More specifically, as Figure 4 As shown, although a part of the locking claw 41 is inserted into a part of the locking receiving portion 42 , the locking claw 41 is in a semi-locked state where the locking claw 41 cannot be locked to the locking receiving portion 42 .

[0069] Therefore, when the cover member 3 cannot be locked to the protector body 2 by the locking mechanism 4, the operator visually confirms the arrangement of the plurality of wiring materials W in the storage space 2s and the contact state between the protrusion 33 and the plurality of wiring materials W at the insertion opening 24. Furthermore, since the arrangement of the first wiring material W1 and the second wiring material W2 is not a standard arrangement, the operator separates one main body side wall portion 22a and one cover side wall portion 32a in the orthogonal direction Z, and exchanges the position of the first wiring material W1 and the position of the second wiring material, and stores the first wiring material W1 and the second wiring material W2 in the storage space 2s in a standard arrangement.

[0070] Next, the operator brings one main body side wall portion 22 a close to one cover side wall portion 32 a in the orthogonal direction Z, and brings the locking receiving portion 42 close to the locking claw 41 .

[0071] Next, the operator inserts the locking claw 41 into the locking receiving portion 42 , locks the locking claw 41 and the locking receiving portion 42 , and locks the cover member 3 to the protector body 2 using the locking mechanism 4 .

[0072] The protector 1 according to the present embodiment has the following structure. When the first wiring material W1 and the second wiring material W2 are accommodated in the accommodation space 2s in a non-standard arrangement in which the first circumferential surface W1o of the first wiring material W1 contacts the bottom 21 and the second circumferential surface W2o of the second wiring material W2 contacts the first circumferential surface W1o of the first wiring material W1, the second circumferential surface W2o of the second wiring material W2 contacts the protrusion 33 in the middle of the transition of the locking mechanism 4 from the non-locking state to the locking state. Furthermore, when the first wiring material W1 and the second wiring material W2 are accommodated in the accommodation space 2s in a standard arrangement in which the second circumferential surface W2o of the second wiring material W2 contacts the bottom 21 and the second circumferential surface W2o of the second wiring material W2 contacts the first circumferential surface W1o of the first wiring material W1, the locking mechanism 4 switches from the non-locking state to the locking state. Therefore, according to the protector 1 involved in the present embodiment, if the first wiring material W1 and the second wiring material W2 are arranged in a non-standard manner, the locking mechanism 4 cannot be locked, and the operator can recognize that the plurality of wiring materials W are not arranged in a standard manner. Therefore, the operator can make the locking mechanism 4 locked after correcting the plurality of wiring materials W from the non-standard arrangement to the standard arrangement. As a result, the protector 1 involved in the present embodiment can provide a protector 1 in which the cover member 3 cannot be locked to the protector body 2 when the plurality of wiring materials W are accommodated in the accommodation space 2s in a non-standard arrangement. Therefore, the protector 1 involved in the present embodiment can arrange the first wiring material W1 and the second wiring material W2 in a preset path, and can prevent one wiring material W from crossing over another wiring material W. Therefore, the protector 1 involved in the present embodiment can prevent the wasteful use of the excess length preset for the first wiring material W1 and the second wiring material W2. Therefore, the protector 1 involved in the present embodiment can prevent the electrical connection workability of the first wiring material W1 and the second wiring material W2 from being reduced in the subsequent process.

[0073] The protector 1 according to the present embodiment has the following structure. The protrusion 33 closes a part of the insertion opening 24. Therefore, when the cover member 3 cannot be locked to the protector body 2 by the locking mechanism 4, the operator can visually check the arrangement of the plurality of wiring materials W in the storage space 2s and the contact state between the protrusion 33 and the plurality of wiring materials W by the insertion opening 24. As a result, in the protector 1 according to the present embodiment, the operator can visually check the reason why the cover member 3 cannot be locked to the protector body 2 by the locking mechanism 4 by the insertion opening 24.

[0074] The protector 1 involved in this embodiment has the following structure. Each latching receiving portion 42 is provided on the cover member 3. The protrusion 33 is formed integrally with the latching receiving portion 42. However, in the case where the latching receiving portion 42 and the protrusion 33 are formed separately, the cover member 3 may be elastically deformed due to the operator pressing the cover member 3 with force, so that the cover member 3 is latched to the protector body 2 by the latching mechanism 4. On the other hand, the protector 1 involved in this embodiment can improve the rigidity of the cover member 3 compared with the case where the protrusion 33 and the latching receiving portion 42 are formed separately, so that the elastic deformation of the cover member 3 can be suppressed.

[0075] The protector 1 according to the present embodiment has the following structure. The protrusion 33 connects the top 31 and the cover side wall 32a. Therefore, according to the protector 1 according to the present embodiment, the rigidity of the cover member 3 can be improved compared with the cover member 3 in which the protrusion 33 is not connected to the cover side wall 32a, 32b.

[0076] The protector 1 according to the present embodiment has the following structure. The protrusion 33 has a contact surface 33f, which contacts the second peripheral surface W2o of the second wiring material W2 when the first wiring material W1 and the second wiring material W2 are arranged in the storage space 2s in a non-standard arrangement. The contact surface 33f is inclined relative to the orthogonal direction Z in a manner that it approaches the cover side wall portion 32a as it moves from the top 31 side to the bottom 21 side. However, in the case where the protrusion 33 has a corner on the bottom 21 side, when the operator presses the cover member 3 against the protector body 2, there is a possibility that the corner of the protrusion 33 is pressed against the second peripheral surface W2o of the second wiring material W2 and the second peripheral surface W2o of the second wiring material W2 is damaged. On the other hand, the protrusion 33 of the protector 1 according to the present embodiment has a contact surface 33f, which is inclined relative to the orthogonal direction Z in a manner that it approaches the cover side wall portion 32a as it moves from the top 31 side to the bottom 21 side. Therefore, even if the first wiring material W1 and the second wiring material W2 are accommodated in the accommodating space 2s in a non-standard configuration, the above-mentioned contact surface 33f of the protrusion 33 contacts the second circumferential surface W2o of the second wiring material W2, thereby preventing damage to the second circumferential surface W2o of the second wiring material W2.

[0077] The protector 1 according to the present embodiment has the following structure. The protector body 2 has a plurality of insertion openings 24 through which the wiring material W is inserted into the storage space 2s. The protrusion 33 is provided in any one of the plurality of insertion openings 24. Therefore, the protector 1 according to the present embodiment can reduce the amount of material required to form the cover member 3, compared with a protector in which the protrusion 33 is provided in all of the plurality of insertion openings 24.

[0078] In the above embodiment, the protrusion 33 closes a part of the insertion opening 24 . However, the protector 1 according to the present embodiment is not limited thereto, and the protrusion 33 may be provided in the accommodation space 2 s of the protector body 2 .

[0079] In addition, the above-described embodiment has been described in which the protrusion 33 is provided in the third insertion opening 24c provided in the middle of the longitudinal direction of the protector 1. However, the protector 1 according to this embodiment may be provided in any one of the insertion openings 24a and 24b provided at both ends of the protector 1 in the longitudinal direction.

[0080] Furthermore, the protector 1 according to the above embodiment is described as a protector in which the protrusion 33 is provided in any one of the plurality of insertion openings 24 . However, the protector 1 according to the present embodiment is not limited thereto, and the protrusion 33 may be provided in each of the plurality of insertion openings 24 .

[0081] In addition, the protector 1 according to the above embodiment is described as a protector in which the protector main body 2 and the cover member 3 are provided separately. However, the protector 1 according to the present embodiment is not limited thereto, and the protector main body 2 and the cover member 3 may be provided integrally. For example, the protector main body 2 and the cover member 3 may be provided integrally via a hinge.

[0082] Furthermore, the protrusion 33 according to the above embodiment has been described as connecting the top 31 and the cover side wall 32a. However, the protrusion 33 according to the present embodiment is not limited thereto, and may not connect the top 31 and the cover side wall 32a.

[0083] In addition, the contact surface 33f of the protrusion 33 according to the above embodiment is described as being inclined with respect to the orthogonal direction Z so as to be directed toward one cover side wall portion 32a as it moves from the top 31 side toward the bottom 21 side. However, the contact surface 33f of the protrusion 33 according to the present embodiment is not limited thereto, and may be provided in a straight line from the top 31 side toward the bottom 21 side.

[0084] Furthermore, the protrusion 33 according to the above embodiment is described as having a substantially triangular shape having a base on the top 31 side and a vertex on the bottom 21 side when viewed from the extension direction X. However, the shape of the protrusion 33 according to the present embodiment is not limited thereto. For example, the protrusion 33 may also be formed in a rectangular shape.
