[0002] Related fields
[0003] The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) is currently in the process of fully standardizing the New Radio (NR), Radio Access Technology (RAT) for the fifth generation (5G) system. 5G wireless communication systems and services can be classified into three categories: Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communications (URLLC), Massive Machine Type Communications (mMTC), and Enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB). The design of URLLC is extremely challenging because URLLC adapts to emerging applications with strict latency and reliability requirements. To improve reliability, more resources are used for signaling and retransmission, such as nominal repeated transmission of data. In addition, to address the rapid growth in wireless data traffic demand, the wireless industry has turned its attention to unlicensed spectrum as a way to aggregate additional spectrum bands and increase the capacity of future cellular systems. New Radio-based access to unlicensed spectrum (NR-U) has many issues to be resolved, such as supporting URLLC in unlicensed spectrum. Summary of the invention
[0004] Some aspects of the present disclosure relate to apparatus and methods for implementing nominal repetition of transmitting data over unlicensed spectrum in wireless communications (e.g., wireless communications systems based on the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Release 15 (Rel-15), Release 16 (Rel-16), Release 17 (Rel-17), or higher). For example, systems and methods are provided to implement a design for nominal repetition of transmitting data to provide ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC) services in New Radio (NR)-based access (NR-U) to unlicensed spectrum in a time division duplex (TDD) system.
[0005] In some examples, the unlicensed spectrum is shared among multiple UEs, and each UE performs a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure to access the unlicensed spectrum. In some examples, the unlicensed spectrum is an independent new radio (NR) unlicensed spectrum supporting shared ultra-reliable low latency communication (URLLC) with synchronized frame-based equipment (FBE) in a controlled environment.
[0006] In some examples, a time slot includes a plurality of symbols, wherein each symbol of the time slot has a direction defined as an UL symbol for uplink (UL) transmission, a DL symbol for downlink (DL) transmission, or a flexible symbol for UL transmission or DL transmission. The direction of the symbol in the time slot is defined by a subframe indicator (SFI) or by an invalid symbol pattern. An isolated symbol within a time slot is determined by a boundary of the time slot or a switching point of a DL transmission symbol immediately adjacent to the SFI defined within the time slot. In some examples, the SFI has a semi-static configuration or a dynamic configuration. Similarly, an invalid symbol pattern is a semi-static configuration or a semi-static configuration indicated by dynamic signaling, wherein symbols from a bitmap of an invalid symbol pattern marked with "1" are defined as symbols that cannot be used for UL transmission.
[0007] Some aspects of the present disclosure relate to a user equipment (UE). The UE includes: a transceiver configured to communicate with a base station via a wireless network; and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The processor uses the transceiver and receives downlink information including an UL transmission configuration from the base station. The UE also transmits data to the base station via an unlicensed spectrum, wherein the unlicensed spectrum is used for both UL transmission and DL transmission. In addition, the processor generates multiple actual repetitions of a portion of the data to be transmitted via the unlicensed spectrum. The multiple actual repetitions of the portion of the data form one or more nominal repetitions of the data, wherein the one or more nominal repetitions of the data are determined at least in part based on the UL transmission configuration received from the base station. The UL transmission configuration may include a nominal repetition configuration. The one or more nominal repetitions of the data are segmented into the multiple actual repetitions, wherein one actual repetition carries a portion of the data. The processor also identifies an isolated symbol of the actual repetition in the multiple actual repetitions. Thereafter, the processor determines a fill symbol to replace the isolated symbol of the actual repetition, and uses the transceiver to transmit the multiple actual repetitions including the fill symbol to replace the isolated symbol to the base station via the unlicensed spectrum.
[0008] In some examples, the UL transmission configuration is based at least in part on radio resource control (RRC) signaling, at least in part on activation of downlink control information (DCI), or at least in part on medium access control (MAC) control element (MAC CE) signaling to configure time domain resource allocation for the UE. In addition, the transmission of the one or more nominal repetitions of data from the UE is a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) repetition type B transmission of data. The actual repetition may be a PUSCH repetition type B transmission in a time division duplex (TDD) NR communication system. In some examples, a PUSCH repetition type B transmission in a time division duplex (TDD) NR communication system is used as an example of an actual repetition.
[0009] In some examples, the fill symbol may be selected from: the last symbol of the previous actual repetition of data before the actual repetition, the first symbol of the next actual repetition of data after the actual repetition, a cyclic prefix symbol, or a symbol determined by the UE. In addition, the fill symbol may be transmitted at the same frequency position as the frequency position for the last symbol of the previous actual repetition or the frequency position for the first symbol of the next actual repetition. In addition, the fill symbol is transmitted with the same transmission power as the transmission power for the last symbol of the previous actual repetition or the transmission power for the first symbol of the next actual repetition.
[0010] Some aspects of the present disclosure relate to a method. The method includes transmitting data to a base station via an unlicensed spectrum, wherein the unlicensed spectrum is used for both UL transmission and DL transmission. The method also includes generating multiple actual repetitions of a portion of the data to be transmitted via the unlicensed spectrum, wherein the multiple actual repetitions of the portion of the data form one or more nominal repetitions of the data. In addition, the method includes identifying isolated symbols of actual repetitions in the multiple actual repetitions, and determining fill symbols to replace the isolated symbols of the actual repetitions. Thereafter, the method includes transmitting the multiple actual repetitions including the fill symbols to replace the isolated symbols from the UE to the base station via the unlicensed spectrum.
[0011] Some aspects of the present disclosure relate to a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions. When these instructions are executed by a processor of a UE, these instructions cause the processor to perform operations, which include: receiving a downlink message including an uplink (UL) transmission configuration by the UE and from a base station to transmit one or more nominal repetitions of data from the UE to the UL. These operations also include: transmitting data to the base station by the UE via an unlicensed spectrum. The unlicensed spectrum is used for both UL transmission and DL transmission. These operations also include generating multiple actual repetitions of a portion of the data to be transmitted via the unlicensed spectrum, wherein the multiple actual repetitions of the portion of the data form the one or more nominal repetitions of the data. In addition, these operations include identifying isolated symbols of actual repetitions in the multiple actual repetitions, and determining fill symbols that replace the isolated symbols of the actual repetitions. Thereafter, the operation includes transmitting the multiple actual repetitions including fill symbols that replace the isolated symbols to the base station by the UE via the unlicensed spectrum.
[0012] Some aspects of the present disclosure relate to a base station. The base station includes a transceiver configured to communicate with a UE via a wireless network and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The processor uses the transceiver and transmits a downlink message including an UL transmission configuration to the UE. For the UE, the UL transmission configuration transmits one or more nominal repetitions of data from the UE to the UL via an unlicensed spectrum, wherein the unlicensed spectrum is used for both UL transmission and DL transmission. The processor also receives an uplink message from the UE including actual repetitions containing fill symbols. The one or more nominal repetitions of the data are segmented into multiple actual repetitions, and the fill symbols are replacements for isolated symbols of the actual repetitions in the multiple actual repetitions.

[0023] In a wireless communication system, a user equipment (UE) communicates with a base station (e.g., an evolved Node B (eNB), a next generation Node B (gNB), or other base stations) via a communication spectrum. In order to address the rapid growth in wireless data traffic demand in the coming years, the wireless industry has turned its attention to unlicensed spectrum as a way to aggregate additional spectrum bands and increase the capacity of future cellular systems. Unlicensed spectrum with global availability includes the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 60 GHz bands. Unlicensed spectrum can be used for uplink (UL) transmissions and downlink (DL) transmissions. In addition, the unlicensed spectrum can be shared between multiple UEs, and each UE performs a listen-before-talk (LBT) process to access the unlicensed spectrum.
[0024] The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) is currently in the process of fully standardizing New Radio (NR), Radio Access Technology (RAT) for fifth generation (5G) systems, including Ultra Reliable Low Latency Communications (URLLC), Massive Machine Type Communications (mMTC), and Enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB). To address the stringent latency and reliability requirements of URLLC, more resources are used for signaling and retransmissions, e.g., nominally repeated transmissions of data. New Radio-based access to unlicensed spectrum (NR-U) has many issues to be addressed, such as supporting URLLC in unlicensed spectrum.
[0025] The technology for implementing URLLC service may include a small data payload (e.g., 32 bytes) with short delay. In addition, a mini-slot transmission time interval is used instead of a whole slot, so the data of the URLLC service can be transmitted immediately without waiting for the slot boundary. A mini-slot is a part of a slot and is the smallest scheduling unit in a wireless communication system.
[0026] A slot includes a plurality of symbols, wherein each symbol of the slot has a direction defined as an uplink (UL) symbol for an UL transmission, a downlink (DL) symbol for a DL transmission, or a flexible symbol for an UL transmission or a DL transmission. The direction of the symbol of the slot may be defined by a subframe indicator (SFI). In some examples, the SFI has a semi-static configuration or a dynamic configuration.
[0027] In some examples, one or more nominal repetitions of data are transmitted over unlicensed spectrum to improve reliability, for example, for URLLC services. The nominal repetition of transmitted data is the retransmission of the same data that has already been transmitted. In some examples, the nominal repetition of data is sent before receiving feedback or a request (e.g., a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ)) from a base station. When the size of the data is greater than one symbol, the nominal repetition of the data may be segmented into multiple actual repetitions by a slot boundary, a switching point within a slot immediately adjacent to a DL transmission symbol defined by an SFI, a so-called invalid symbol pattern, or by dynamic signaling optionally associated with an invalid symbol pattern indicating a reserved uplink symbol. In some examples, the actual repetition may be a single symbol, which may be referred to as an isolated symbol, while the nominal transmission containing the actual transmission is more than one symbol.
[0028] In some current systems, isolated symbols may be dropped or omitted in UL transmissions. Figure 2 Further discussed, isolated symbols are contained in actual repetitions with only one symbol. Discarding isolated symbols of actual repetitions may not cause problems in licensed spectrum. However, discarding isolated symbols of actual repetitions may be problematic in unlicensed spectrum or shared spectrum. Unlicensed spectrum or shared spectrum may be shared by multiple nodes including UEs and base stations operating in the networks of the same operator or different operators. When the first UE discards isolated symbols of actual repetitions, a gap in the time slot is created between originally continuous transmissions. If a second node (which may be a UE, a base station, or a node from other technologies, such as a WiFi station sharing an unlicensed spectrum) is performing an LBT process, the second node may incorrectly assume that the channel is available and start its transmission. Transmissions from the second UE at or shortly after the gap created by the discarded isolated symbol may cause a conflict with the transmission of the first UE that is resumed after the gap.
[0029] Some aspects of the present disclosure provide an improved solution for transmitting isolated symbols in actual repetitions. In detail, an apparatus and method for implementing nominal repetitions for transmitting data over an unlicensed spectrum are presented. Instead of discarding isolated symbols, filler symbols are included in the actual repetitions to eliminate potential gaps in the time slots. Therefore, a second UE listening to the shared unlicensed spectrum will not assume that the channel is available for transmission. Therefore, there is no collision between the first UE and the second UE at the isolated symbol.
[0030] In some examples, the fill symbol is selected from: the last symbol of the previous actual repetition of data before the actual repetition, the first symbol of the next actual repetition of data after the actual repetition, a cyclic prefix symbol, or a symbol determined by the UE. In addition, the fill symbol is transmitted at the same frequency position as the frequency position used for the last symbol of the previous actual repetition or the frequency position used for the first symbol of the next actual repetition. In addition, the fill symbol is transmitted with the same transmission power as the transmission power used for the last symbol of the previous actual repetition or the transmission power used for the first symbol of the next actual repetition.
[0031] In some examples, the unlicensed spectrum radio system is an independent NR unlicensed spectrum radio system that supports shared URLLC with synchronized frame-based equipment (FBE) in a controlled environment. In addition, other unlicensed spectrum radio systems from different operators may operate in the same geographic area, and some of them may also operate with NR systems with FBE-based sharing. Unlicensed spectrum radio networks from different operators may have different timing settings, such as in terms of the start time of a fixed frame period and the duration of a fixed frame period. In some other examples, the unlicensed spectrum may be an NR unlicensed spectrum that supports URLLC in an uncontrolled environment. Even if the techniques described herein are for, for example, unlicensed spectrum, these techniques may also be applicable to any other spectrum performed by multiple network nodes (e.g., UE, base station) operated by the same or different network operators.
[0032] Although some examples of content of nominal repetitions for transmitting data over unlicensed spectrum are provided above, aspects of the present disclosure are not limited to these examples, and nominal repetitions for transmitting data over unlicensed spectrum may include fewer, more, or other parameters, instructions, and / or information.
[0033] Figure 1 An exemplary wireless system 100 implementing a nominally repeated design for transmitting data over an unlicensed spectrum according to some aspects of the present disclosure is shown. The wireless system 100 is provided for illustration purposes only and is not intended to limit the disclosed aspects. The system 100 may include, but is not limited to, a network node (referred to herein as a base station) 101 and an electronic device (referred to hereinafter as a UE), such as UE 105 and UE 106.
[0034] According to some aspects, base station 101 may include a node configured to operate based on a variety of wireless communication technologies, such as but not limited to technologies based on 3GPP standards. For example, base station 101 may include a node configured to operate using Rel-16, Rel-17 or later versions, and may support URLLC services and applications. Base station 101 may be a fixed station and may also be referred to as a base transceiver system (BTS), access point (AP), access node (AN), transmission / reception point (TRP), evolved node B (eNB), next generation node B (gNB) or some other equivalent terms.
[0035] According to some aspects, UE 105 or UE 106 may include an electronic device configured to operate based on a variety of wireless communication technologies. These technologies may include, but are not limited to, technologies based on 3GPP standards. For example, UE 105 or UE 106 may include an electronic device configured to operate using Rel-16, Rel-17 or later versions, and may support URLLC services and applications. UE 105 or UE 106 may include, but are not limited to: wireless communication devices, smart phones, laptops, desktop computers, tablet computers, personal assistants, monitors, televisions, wearable devices, Internet of Things (IoT), communication devices of vehicles, mobile stations, subscriber stations, remote terminals, wireless terminals, user equipment, etc.
[0036] According to some aspects, UE 105 may include a transceiver configured to wirelessly communicate with base station 101 and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver, such as Figure 6 and Figure 7 UE 105 may be connected to base station 101 using one or more communication links (e.g., downlink 103 and uplink 107) and may communicate with the base station. Similarly, UE 106 may include a transceiver configured to wirelessly communicate with base station 101 and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver, such as Figure 6 and Figure 7 UE 106 may be connected to base station 101 and may communicate with the base station using one or more communication links (eg, downlink 113 and uplink 117).
[0037] According to some aspects, the downlink 103 and uplink 107 of UE 105 and the downlink 113 and uplink 117 of UE 106 may share the same unlicensed spectrum for both UL transmission and DL transmission. UE 105 and UE 106 perform a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure before accessing the shared unlicensed spectrum to avoid conflicts with other UEs occupying the shared unlicensed spectrum. In some examples, the unlicensed spectrum is an independent NR unlicensed spectrum supporting shared URLLC with synchronization-based frame-based equipment (FBE) in a controlled environment 110. In the following, a functional description for UE 105 is provided as an example, and UE 106 may perform the same or similar functions.
[0038] According to some aspects, the base station 101 may use the UL transmission configuration 104 to configure the UE 105 to transmit one or more nominal repetitions of data from the UE to the base station 101. The UE 105 receives a downlink message 102 including the UL transmission configuration 104 from the base station 101. In some examples, the UL transmission configuration 104 is based at least in part on radio resource control (RRC) signaling, at least in part on activation of downlink control information (DCI), or at least in part on medium access control (MAC) control element (MAC CE) signaling to configure time domain resource allocation for the UE. In some examples, the UL transmission configuration 104 can be a type 1 configured grant, and only RRC signaling is used to configure the time domain resource allocation for the UE 105. In addition, the UL transmission configuration 104 can be a type 2 configured grant, and RRC signaling is used together with DCI activation to configure the time domain resource allocation for the UE 105. In addition, the RRC signaling together with the MAC CE signaling can be used to configure the time domain resource allocation for the UE 105. Additionally and optionally, RRC signaling together with MAC CE signaling and dynamic signaling from DCI activation may be used to configure time domain resource allocation for UE 105 .
[0039] According to some aspects, based on the UL transmission configuration 104, the UE 105 may transmit data 121 to the base station 101. In some examples, in a time division duplex (TDD) NR communication system, the UE 105 may transmit the data 121 to the base station 101 via an unlicensed spectrum. To improve the reliability of the transmission, the data 121 may be transmitted a plurality of times nominally repeatedly. In some examples, a nominal repetition 123 of the data 121 is generated and sent before receiving feedback or a request (e.g., a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ)) from the base station 101. The nominal repetition 123 of the data 121 may be segmented into a plurality of actual repetitions, such as an actual repetition 125 and an actual repetition 127. These actual repetitions are transmitted to the UL in different time slots.
[0040] Figure 21 shows examples of nominal repetitions, actual repetitions, and isolated symbols according to some aspects of the present disclosure. According to some aspects, for data 121, UE 105 generates one or more nominal repetitions to be transmitted over unlicensed spectrum, e.g. Figure 2 Shown are nominal repetition 207 and nominal repetition 209. The one or more nominal repetitions are segmented into multiple actual transmissions.
[0041] like Figure 2 As shown, time slot 201 or time slot 203 includes 14 symbols, where each symbol of the time slot has a direction defined as a UL symbol for uplink (UL) transmission, a DL symbol for downlink (DL) transmission, or a flexible symbol for UL transmission or DL transmission. The direction (UL or DL or flexible) of the symbol of the time slot is defined by SFI 205. In some examples, the SFI may have a semi-static configuration or a dynamic configuration. The SFI 205 shown is a semi-static SFI. According to SFI205, for time slot 201 or time slot 203, symbol 0 to symbol 2 are DL symbols, symbol 3 to symbol 10 are flexible symbols, and symbol 11 to symbol 13 are UL symbols.
[0042] In some examples, data 121 has 6 symbols, which have been transmitted before time slot 201. According to UL transmission configuration 104, two additional nominal repetitions of data 121 (e.g., nominal repetition 207 and nominal repetition 209) are scheduled for transmission to base station 101. Nominal repetition 207 is transmitted by actual repetition 211 during symbol 7 to symbol 12 of time slot 201, which is a UL symbol or a flexible symbol. Actual repetition 211 has the last symbol 221. Nominal repetition 209 is scheduled for transmission in consecutive time slots, and the nominal repetition should occupy symbol 13 of time slot 201 to symbol 4 of time slot 203. However, SFI 205 indicates that symbols 0 to 2 of time slot 203 are DL symbols and are not available for UL transmission. Therefore, symbols 0 to 2 of time slot 203 segment nominal repetition 209 into two actual repetitions, namely actual repetition 213 and actual repetition 215, which are not adjacent and separated by DL symbols 0-2. The actual repetition 213 contains only one symbol 223 to be transmitted at symbol 13 of the time slot 201. The actual repetition 215 contains 2 symbols of the nominal repetition 209, which has the first symbol 225.
[0043] Therefore, nominal repetition 207 and nominal repetition 209 are segmented into three actual repetitions, namely actual repetition 211, actual repetition 213, and actual repetition 215. Actual repetition 211 is the previous actual repetition of data 121 before actual repetition 213, and actual repetition 215 is the next actual repetition of data 121 after actual repetition 213.
[0044] According to some aspects, the UE 105 also identifies or determines isolated symbols that are actually repeated. Figure 2 As shown in more detail in FIG. 2 , the actual repetition 213 has only one symbol 223 that occupies only one symbol, which is determined by the boundary of the time slot 201. In contrast, the actual repetitions 211 and 215 each have multiple symbols. Additionally and optionally, the actual repetition 213 is determined by the switching point of the DL transmission symbol defined by the SFI 205 within the time slot, which is symbol 13 because it is adjacent to the DL symbol 0 of the time slot 203. Therefore, symbol 223 is an isolated symbol of the actual repetition 213. Therefore, in this article, the isolated symbol is contained in an actual repetition of the size of one symbol, wherein the actual repetition is part of the nominal repetition when the nominal repetition is segmented into multiple actual repetitions. The transmission of the nominal repetition of data is to resend the same data that has been transmitted for various purposes, such as to improve reliability. In some examples, the isolated symbol 223 can be a single symbol to be transmitted in a PUSCH repetition type B transmission according to the nominal repetition configuration, or a single UL symbol to be omitted from the transmission in a PUSCH repetition type B transmission. In some examples, the orphan symbol 223 is determined by an invalid symbol pattern. The invalid symbol pattern may be a semi-static configuration or a semi-static configuration indicated by dynamic signaling, and symbols from the bitmap of the invalid symbol pattern marked with "1" are defined as symbols that cannot be used for UL transmission.
[0045] Conventionally, isolated symbols 223 may be discarded or omitted in UL transmissions. However, discarding isolated symbols that are actually repeated may be problematic in unlicensed spectrum or shared spectrum. When UE 105 discards isolated symbols 223, a gap is created in time slot 201. A second node (e.g., UE 106) may be performing an LBT procedure and may incorrectly assume that the channel is available and begin its transmission. Transmissions at and after symbol 13 of time slot 201, which the discarded isolated symbol 223 from UE 106 assumes to occupy, may cause a collision with transmissions from UE 105 that resume after the gap.
[0046] According to some aspects, the UE 105 also determines filler symbols 333 to replace isolated symbols 223 of the actual repetition 213, such as Figure 3 As shown in more detail in FIG. Figure 3 Only shown Figure 2 Part of the details. Figure 3 , the filling symbol 333 may be the same symbol as the last symbol 221 of the previous actual repetition 211 before the actual repetition 213 of the data 121, or the first symbol 225 of the next actual repetition 215 after the actual repetition 213 of the data 121. In addition, the filling symbol 333 is generated at the same time position as the time position of the isolated symbol 223.
[0047] In some examples, when the last symbol 221 of the previous actual repetition 211 before the actual repetition 213 is also an isolated symbol, the padding symbol 333 may be based on the last symbol of the most recent PUSCH repetition type B transmission that has more than one symbol before the PUSCH repetition type B transmission. Similarly, when the first symbol 225 of the next actual repetition 215 after the actual repetition 213 is also an isolated symbol, the padding symbol 333 may be based on the first symbol of the earliest PUSCH repetition type B transmission that has more than one symbol after the PUSCH repetition type B transmission. In some examples, the padding symbol 333 may be a cyclic prefix symbol, or a symbol determined by the UE 105.
[0048] In addition, the padding symbol 333 may be transmitted at the same frequency position as the last symbol 221 of the previous actual repetition 211, the last symbol of the most recent PUSCH repetition type B transmission, the first symbol 225 of the next actual repetition 215, or the first symbol of the earliest PUSCH repetition type B transmission. In addition, the padding symbol 333 may be transmitted at the same transmission power as the repetition power of the last symbol 221 of the previous actual repetition 211, the last symbol of the most recent PUSCH repetition type B transmission, the first symbol of the earliest PUSCH repetition type B transmission, or the first symbol 225 of the next actual repetition 215.
[0049] Thereafter, UE 105 transmits the plurality of actual repetitions, e.g., actual repetition 211, actual repetition 213 including fill symbol 333 instead of isolated symbol 223, and actual repetition 215, to base station 101 through the unlicensed spectrum. Actual repetition 211, actual repetition 213, and actual repetition 215 together are equivalent to the transmission of nominal repetition 207 and nominal repetition 209. The transmission of the one or more nominal repetitions (e.g., nominal repetition 207 and nominal repetition 209) of data 121 is a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) repetition type B transmission of data.
[0050] Figure 4 An exemplary method 400 for a system (eg, a UE) supporting a mechanism for implementing a nominal repetition of a design for transmitting data over an unlicensed spectrum is shown in accordance with some aspects of the present disclosure. For convenience and not limitation, reference may be made to Figures 1 to 3 , Figure 6 and Figure 7 Description of the elements Figure 4 Method 400 may represent an electronic device (e.g., Figure 1The method 400 may also include: Figure 6 System 600 and / or Figure 7 The method 400 is performed by a computer system 700. However, the method 400 is not limited to the specific aspects depicted in those figures, and other systems may be used to perform the method, as will be understood by those skilled in the art. It should be understood that not all operations may be required, and these operations may not be performed in the same manner as described above. Figure 4 The same sequence as shown is performed.
[0051] At 402, the UE receives a downlink message from a base station including an UL transmission configuration to transmit one or more nominal repetitions of data from the UE to the UL. For example, the UE 105 receives a downlink message 102 from the base station 101 including an UL transmission configuration 104 to transmit one or more nominal repetitions of data from the UE 105 to the UL, such as for Figure 1 described. In some examples, the UL transmission may be a PUSCH repetition type B transmission. The UL transmission configuration may be based at least in part on radio resource control (RRC) signaling, at least in part on activation of downlink control information (DCI), or at least in part on medium access control (MAC) control element (MAC CE) signaling to configure time domain resource allocation for the UE. When the UL transmission configuration is a type 1 configured grant, only RRC signaling is used to configure time domain resource allocation for the UE. Additionally and optionally, when the UL transmission configuration is a type 2 configured grant, RRC signaling is used together with DCI activation to configure time domain resource allocation for the UE. Similarly, RRC signaling together with MAC CE signaling may be used to configure time domain resource allocation for the UE, or RRC signaling together with MAC CE signaling and dynamic signaling from DCI activation may be used to configure time domain resource allocation for the UE.
[0052] At 404, the UE transmits data to the base station via an unlicensed spectrum, wherein the unlicensed spectrum is used for both UL transmission and DL transmission. For example, UE 105 transmits data 121 to base station 101 via an unlicensed spectrum, wherein the unlicensed spectrum is used for both UL transmission and DL transmission, as described for Figure 1 described.
[0053] At 406, the UE determines, based at least in part on the UL transmission configuration received from the base station, that the symbol is an isolated symbol of an actual repetition. The actual repetition is among a plurality of actual repetitions that form the one or more nominal repetitions configured by the UL transmission configuration. For example, Figure 2As shown, based on the UL transmission configuration 104 received from the base station 101, the UE 105 determines that the symbol 223 is an isolated symbol of the actual repetition 213. The actual repetition 213 is among a plurality of actual repetitions (e.g., actual repetition 211, actual repetition 213, and actual repetition 215) that form the nominal repetition 207 and the nominal repetition 209. The isolated symbol is included in an actual repetition of the size of one symbol, wherein when the nominal repetition is segmented into a plurality of actual repetitions, the actual repetition is a part of the nominal repetition. The transmission of the nominal repetition of data is to resend the same data that has already been transmitted for various purposes, such as to improve reliability. For example, the UE 105 identifies the isolated symbol 223 of the actual repetition 213, such as for Figure 2 described.
[0054] At 408, the UE determines a fill symbol to replace the determined isolated symbol in the actual repetition. For example, the UE 105 determines a fill symbol 333 to replace the isolated symbol 223 of the actual repetition 213, such as for Figure 3 described.
[0055] At 410, the UE transmits to the base station via the unlicensed spectrum an actual repetition of a fill symbol replacing an isolated symbol. For example, the UE 105 transmits to the base station 101 via the unlicensed spectrum an actual repetition 213 of a fill symbol 333 replacing an isolated symbol 223, as for Figure 1 The actual repetition 213 includes the filling symbol 333 instead of the isolated symbol 223.
[0056] Figure 5 An exemplary method 500 for a system (e.g., a base station) supporting a mechanism for implementing a nominal repetition of a design for transmitting data over an unlicensed spectrum is shown in accordance with some aspects of the present disclosure. It should be understood that not all operations may be required, and these operations may not be performed in the same manner as described above. Figure 5 The same sequence as shown is performed.
[0057] At 502, the base station uses a transceiver and transmits a downlink message including an UL transmission configuration to the UE to transmit one or more nominal repetitions of data from the UE to the UL via an unlicensed spectrum for both UL transmission and DL transmission. For example, the base station 101 uses a transceiver and transmits a downlink message 102 including an UL transmission configuration 104 to the UE 105. The UL transmission configuration 104 is for the UE 105 to transmit nominal repetitions 207 and nominal repetitions 209 to the UL, as for Figure 1 to Figure 2 described.
[0058] At 504, the base station uses a transceiver to receive actual repetitions including filler symbols from the UE. The one or more nominal repetitions are segmented into multiple actual transmissions, for example, the filler symbols are replacements for isolated symbols of the actual repetitions of the multiple actual transmissions. For example, as for Figures 1 to 3 As described, base station 101 receives actual repetition 213 including padding symbol 333 from UE 105. Nominal repetition 207 and nominal repetition 209 are segmented into multiple actual transmissions, such as actual repetition 211, actual repetition 213, and actual repetition 215. Padding symbol 333 is a replacement for isolated symbol 223 of actual repetition 213.
