Abstract
The present application relates to a method for producing bio-based 1,5-pentanediol and 1,3-propanediol from dihydropyran and 3-hydroxypropionic acid as raw materials under mild conditions, which synthesizes bio-based 1,5-pentanediol and 1,3-propanediol through acid-catalyzed addition esterification and noble metal-catalyzed hydrogenation reaction from dihydropyran and 3-hydroxypropionic acid as raw materials. The present application comprises the following steps: 1) the addition reaction of raw material dihydropyran and 3-hydroxypropionic acid on a strong solid acid catalyst to generate tetrahydropyran hydroxypropionic acid ester; 2) the ester hydrogenation reaction of tetrahydropyran hydroxypropionic acid ester on a noble metal hydrogenation catalyst to produce target products 1,5-pentanediol and 1,3-propanediol under a hydrogen atmosphere.
