Therefore, in engineering systems, it is necessary to control undesirable vibrations within a reasonable and acceptable range. Various vibration suppression systems attempt to solve this problem, such as traditional linear passive isolators, active / semi-active vibration isolation elements, and nonlinear quasi-zero stiffness (QZS) passive isolators. [0018] A new and innovative anti-vibration system is provided that is capable of exhibiting nonlinear forms of inertia. The anti-vibration system includes an arrangement of support members that allow for excitation displacement and adjustable inertia ratios, thereby enabling the anti-vibration system to generate various different types of nonlinear inertia. For example, the anti-vibration system includes an inertial structure formed by weight members coupled to opposite ends of the support member. When the anti-vibration system is compressed and decompressed to suppress vibration, the inertial structure rotates about an axis, thereby generating inertial forces (such as nonlinear inertial forces) when the weight members move. When the moving weight members are forced to change direction, the inertial forces must be overcome, which produces inertial effects in a nonlinear manner, causing the equivalent mass / inertia of the vibration isolation system to increase or decrease, and to change adaptively with the input vibration excitation. Since a larger equivalent mass is beneficial for vibration isolation, the nonlinear inertial effect greatly improves the vibration isolation performance. In various aspects, the arrangement of the support members can be adjusted, such as by adjusting the distance between two rotating joints, to change the type of nonlinear inertia generated by the anti-vibration system. Embodiments of the anti-vibration system may be used in a variety of applications such as remote sensing satellites, aerospace seat frames, medical or cargo transportation, vehicle suspension systems, and the like.
[0019] In any embodiment of the anti-vibration system, various parameters of the anti-vibration system (e.g., rod segment length, spring stiffness, initial assembly angle, spring connection parameters, etc.) can be selected (e.g., adjusted) to flexibly meet various requirements of different applications of the anti-vibration system. For example, different applications of the anti-vibration system may have their own specific requirements, such as the working displacement range, the height of the vibration isolation unit, or the effective load and frequency range of the external excitation. In one embodiment, the initial assembly angle can be selected, and then the rod segment length can be determined by combining the selected initial assembly angle with the ideal height of the working environment of the anti-vibration system. In another embodiment, the stiffness parameters of the springs in the anti-vibration system can be determined by adjusting the spring stiffness until the anti-vibration system meets the desired effective load and working displacement range requirements. In yet another embodiment, the rod segment length and spring connection parameters can be adjusted to obtain the desired loading capacity and QZS zone requirements.
[0020] This article describes a joint that facilitates the rotation of two connected parts relative to each other. Any suitable joint that connects the two parts and enables such movement can be used. For example, a rod positioned through a corresponding opening in each of the two parts is such a suitable joint.
[0021] As described herein, an elastic member is an elastic component that can repeatedly store and release mechanical energy. For example, the elastic member can be any suitable spring (e.g., a coil spring, a stretch / tension spring, a machined spring, etc.).
[0022] Figure 1 1 shows a perspective view of an exemplary anti-vibration system 100. In this embodiment, the anti-vibration system 100 includes a first side 102A of a support member and a second side 102B of the support member, the second side 102B being opposite the first side 102A. Figures 2 to 6 Only the first side 102A of the anti-vibration system 100 is described in detail, but it should be understood that the second side 102B of the anti-vibration system 100 can be a mirror image of the first side 102A. In at least some aspects, one or more support rods 108 can extend between the first side 102A and the second side 102B at corresponding rotation joints between the two support members to provide stability or support to the anti-vibration system 100. For example, the support rods 108 can extend between any two directly opposing rotation joints between the first side 102A and the second side 102B. In various aspects, the anti-vibration system 100 includes at least one resilient member. The at least one resilient member can provide a damping effect to the anti-vibration system 100. Figure 1 An embodiment of the anti-vibration system 100 is shown that includes a resilient member 110A and a resilient member 110B. In one embodiment, the resilient member 110A or the resilient member 110B may have a stiffness of 10 N / mm, but the stiffness may be adjusted to any desired value depending on the application.
[0023] Each of the first side 102A and the second side 102B can be coupled to the first base 104 and the second base 106. In some aspects, the first base 104 or the second base 106 can be coupled to another structure. For example, in a vehicle application, the first base 104 can be coupled to a vehicle frame and the second base 106 can be coupled to a vehicle seat. In other aspects, the first base 104 or the second base 106 can be integrated with a structure. For example, in the same vehicle application, the first base 104 can be part of the vehicle frame and the second base 106 can be part of the vehicle seat.

In other words, when coupled to the support member 204G, each of the weight members 302A and 302B can rotate relative to the support member 204G. The weight of the weight member 302A and the weight member 302B can be adjusted based on the application. In one embodiment, the weight member 302A or the weight member 302B can each weigh 3 kilograms (kg). In various aspects, the weight member 302A or the weight member 302B can have a weight less than 10% of the payload used with the anti-vibration system 100. In various aspects, the support member 204G may include a first set of openings 304A and a second set of openings 304B. The first set of openings 304A and the second set of openings 304B enable adjustment of the anti-vibration system 100, which will be described in more detail below. The fourth set of openings 306B enables the weight member 302B to be coupled to the support member 204G at various locations along the support member 204G. Although in Figure 3A In the embodiment of the present invention, each set of openings 306A and 306B is shown as including three openings (weight members 302A and 302B are provided by invisible openings), but in other embodiments, each set of openings 306A and 306B may include more or less than three openings. Support member 204G includes opening 308 to enable support member 204G to be rotatably coupled to first support structure 200 at joint 206.
[0027] Figure 3B A second support structure 320A is shown. The second support structure 320A includes a support member 204H rotatably coupled to a support member 204J at a joint 206H. The second support structure 320A also includes a support member 204K rotatably coupled to the support member 204J at a joint 206K. The support member 204H includes a set of openings 322A that enable adjustment of the anti-vibration system 100, which will be described in more detail below. Although in Figure 3B In the embodiment shown, the set of openings 322A is shown as including two openings, but in other embodiments, the set of openings 322A may include more than two openings.
[0028] Figure 3C A third support structure 320B is shown. The third support structure 320B includes a support member 204L rotatably coupled to the support member 204M at a joint 206L. The third support structure 320B also includes a support member 204N rotatably coupled to the support member 204M at a joint 206M. The support member 204L includes a set of openings 322B that enable adjustment of the anti-vibration system 100, which will be described in more detail below. Although in Figure 3C In the embodiment of FIG. 5 , the set of openings 322B is shown as including two openings, but in other embodiments, the set of openings 322B may include more than two openings.
[0029] Figure 4 A second support structure 320A and a third support structure 320B are shown coupled to support structure 200. Support member 204K of second support structure 320A is rotatably coupled to support member 204B at joint 206Q.
[0030] Support member 204J of second support structure 320A is rotatably coupled to support member 204A at joint 206N. Support member 204N is rotatably coupled to support member 204B at joint 206R. Support member 204M is rotatably coupled to support member 204A at joint 206P.
[0031] Figure 5A support member 204G of an inertial structure 300 is shown rotatably coupled to a first support structure 200, a second support structure 320A, and a third support structure 320B. The support member 204G is rotatably coupled to the support member 204A and the support member 204B at a joint 206A. The support member 204G is rotatably coupled to the support member 204H of the second support structure 320A at a joint 206S. The support member 204G can be rotatably coupled to the support member 204H at the joint 206S via any opening in the second set of openings 304B of the support member 204G and any opening in the set of openings 322A of the support member 204H. Adjustability of the position of joint 206S relative to support member 204G and support member 204H enables changing the length of support member 204G between joint 206A and joint 206S and the length of support member 204H between joint 206H and joint 206S, which can each affect the type of inertial pattern produced by anti-vibration system 100. Support member 204G is rotatably coupled to support member 204L of third support structure 320B at joint 206T. Support member 204G can be rotatably coupled to support member 204L at joint 206T via any opening in first set of openings 304A of support member 204G and any opening in set of openings 322B of support member 204L. Adjustability of the position of joint 206T relative to support members 204G and 204L enables changing the length of support member 204G between joint 206A and joint 206T and the length of support member 204L between joint 206L and joint 206T, which may each affect the type of inertial pattern produced by anti-vibration system 100 .
[0032] Figure 6 is a side view of the anti-vibration system 100 showing the first side 102A including the resilient member 110A. Figure 7 1 is a side view of the anti-vibration system 100, showing the second side 102B including the resilient member 110B. As described above, the second side 102B is a mirror image of the first side 102A and includes similar components, which are Figure 7 Components of the second side 102B are indicated by components having the same reference numerals as the first side 102A, except that components of the second side 102B are indicated by superscript symbols when they are separate and different components from the first side 102A. For example, the second side 102B includes a support structure 200' that is similar to the support structure 200.
[0033] In use, portions of the first base 104 move toward and away from the second base 106 in response to forces applied to the anti-vibration system 100 and relaxation of such forces. For example, a mass (e.g., cargo, a person, etc.) may rest on the base 104, which compresses the base 104 toward the base 106, and as the mass moves in space (e.g., a bump in the road causes cargo in a truck to move), the base 104 moves away from and toward the base 106. In some aspects, portions of the base 106 may similarly move toward and away from the base 104. The support members 204A-N rotate about the joints 206A-T to enable a change in the distance between portions of the first base 104 and portions of the second base 106. During the rotation of the support members 204A-N, the support member 204G of the inertial structure 300 rotates about the joint 206A in a first direction, thereby translating the weight members 302A and 302B on the ends of the support member 204G. The moving weight members 302A and 302B generate inertial forces, which must then be overcome when the support members 204H and 204L force the support member 204G to change the direction of rotation to the opposite second direction about the joint 206A, which produces an inertial effect in a nonlinear manner, causing the equivalent mass / inertia of the anti-vibration system 100 to become larger or smaller, thereby adaptively changing with the input vibration excitation. Therefore, the nonlinear inertial effect allows for a significant improvement in the vibration isolation performance, because a larger equivalent mass is beneficial to the vibration isolation.
[0034] Fig. 8A and Figure 8B is a schematic diagram of the anti-vibration system 100. Specifically, Fig. 8A is a schematic diagram of a side view of the anti-vibration system 100 with mass M1 resting on the base 104, and Figure 8B is a schematic diagram of a separate portion of the anti-vibration system 100. Fig. 8A and Figure 8B In each of the , connector 206A is indicated as "A", connector 206Q is indicated as "B", connector 206K is indicated as "C", connector 206N is indicated as "D", connector 206H is indicated as "E", and connector 206S is indicated as "F". Fig. 8A An exemplary representation of the inertial structure 300 rotating about the joint 206A is shown. Specifically, the support member 204G is shown as a solid line with weight members 302A and 302B in the first position. After rotating to the second position, the support member 204G is shown as a dashed line and is indicated as the support member 204G" with weight members 302A" and 302B". Figure 8BAs shown by the arrow in , the movement of the weight member 302B in the first position to the weight member 302B" in the second position generates an inertial force, and similarly, the movement of the weight member 302A in the first position to the weight member 302A" in the second position also generates an inertial force. The inventors found through geometric analysis of the forces of the anti-vibration system 100 that the anti-vibration system 100 generates four nonlinear forces, namely, nonlinear inertial force, conservative force caused by nonlinear inertia, nonlinear stiffness force and nonlinear damping force.
[0035] The inventors have discovered that, in at least some aspects, the type of nonlinear inertia generated by the inertial structure 300 of the anti-vibration system 100 may depend on the length l of the support member 204G between the joint 206A and the joint 206S. r and the length l of the support member 204H between the joint 206H and the joint 206S o For example, the type of nonlinear inertia generated can be based on the ratio As described above, the length l can be adjusted by adjusting the position of the joint 206S through a set of openings 322A of the support member 204H. r Similarly, the length l can be adjusted by adjusting the position of the joint 206S through a set of openings 304B of the support member 204G. o In all respects, the ratio can be in the range of 5 to 9, but the ratio Other suitable values greater than or equal to zero may be modified based on the application. The types of nonlinear inertia that can be generated include high compression-low extension (HCLE), low compression-high extension (LCHE), and high compression-high extension (HCHE). In some aspects, HCLE corresponds to a ratio in the range of 6 to 7, such as 6.20. In some aspects, LCHE corresponds to a ratio in the range of 7 to 8, such as 7.10. In some aspects, HCHE corresponds to a ratio in the range of 8 to 9, such as 8.84.
[0036] The inventors have also observed that with respect to the anti-vibration system 100, greater excitations lead to better vibration isolation performance in all cases. For example, when subjected to greater excitations, the anti-vibration system 100 exhibits smaller resonant and anti-resonant frequencies, smaller resonant peaks but the same high frequency attenuation slope, the same anti-resonant peaks, and the same high frequency band suppression level, which means that when the excitation amplitude increases, the anti-vibration system 100 exhibits the same or better performance. The anti-vibration system 100 can allow for greater excitation displacements, which is at least partially due to the innovative nonlinear effects produced by the configuration of the inertial structure 300 and the support members 204A-N. In addition, the inventors have found that the nonlinear inertial force tends to be opposite to the equivalent stiffness force, which is the main factor in the interaction force fluctuation, which is particularly beneficial for vibration control. In addition, due to the nonlinear inertia produced by the anti-vibration system 100, the fluctuations of the nonlinear spring force and damping force for the HCLE, LCHE, and HCHE nonlinear inertia types are significantly smaller than those of the linear system.
[0037] The inventors have also conducted comparative tests on a prototype of the anti-vibration system 100 and a prototype without the inertial structure 300. The prototype of the anti-vibration system 100 has smaller resonance and anti-resonance frequencies, a lower resonance peak, and a larger high-frequency attenuation slope, but has a larger high-frequency transmittance, which means that the inertial structure 300 of the anti-vibration system 100 improves the nonlinear inertia and damping characteristics of the anti-vibration system 100.
