[0069] In the related art, the shell of the battery includes an aluminum-plastic film and a metal shell. The shell can encapsulate the battery cell to protect the battery cell. Taking the aluminum-plastic film as an example, the aluminum-plastic film can not only isolate the moisture between the positive and negative electrodes of the battery to prevent the evaporation of moisture and cause the battery capacity to decrease; it can also prevent internal short circuits and play a separating role at the same time, reducing the impact of short circuits or temperature increases on the battery as a whole and improving the safety performance of the battery. Among them, since the size of the battery is usually a fixed value and the energy density of the battery is low, how to increase the capacity of the battery cell by reducing the size of the shell becomes a difficult problem. To this end, the present application proposes a shell manufacturing method.
[0070] In some embodiments, the casing manufacturing method comprises the following steps: S100, processing the heat sealing layer 200 so that the heat sealing layer 200 has a processed area 210 and an unprocessed area 220, and the processed area 210 is set as a through hole or a thinning groove; S200, forming a shell 100 with the heat sealing layer 200, the metal layer 300 and the outer layer 400, forming a groove 500 on the shell 100, the groove 500 is used to accommodate the battery cell, wherein the wall thickness of at least one groove wall of the groove 500 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the processing area 210, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400.
[0071] For details, please refer to Figure 1 , Figure 1 The heat seal layer 200 is shown in FIG. Figures 2 to 16, by processing on the heat sealing layer 200, so that the heat sealing layer 200 has a processing area 210 and an unprocessed area 220, the processing area 210 can be set as a through hole or a thinning groove, and then the heat sealing layer 200, the metal layer 300 and the outer layer 400 are formed into a shell 100, and after the groove 500 is formed on the shell 100, the wall thickness of at least one groove wall of the groove 500 is the sum of the thickness of the processing area 210, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400, that is, the thickness of at least one groove wall of the groove 500 is less than the thickness of the heat sealing layer 200, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400. The sum of the thickness of the heat-sealing layer 200 and the outer layer 400 is because the heat-sealing layer 200 is processed. In the prior art, after the heat-sealing layer 200, the metal layer 300 and the outer layer 400 form the shell 100, the wall thickness of the groove 500 of the shell 100 is the sum of the thickness of the heat-sealing layer 200, the metal layer 300 and the outer layer 400. In the present application, the heat-sealing layer 200 is processed so that the thickness of at least one groove wall of the groove 500 is small, which can effectively increase the volume of the groove 500, so that the groove 500 can place more capacity batteries. In this way, the shell manufacturing method, the shell 100 obtained by the shell manufacturing method can effectively improve the energy density of the battery. In addition, the shell manufacturing method can also improve work efficiency by processing the heat-sealing layer 200 separately. That is, after processing the heat sealing layer 200, the heat sealing layer 200, the metal layer 300 and the outer layer 400 form the shell 100, which can also facilitate processing and improve efficiency. If the heat sealing layer 200, the metal layer 300 and the outer layer 400 are formed into the shell 100, and then the heat sealing layer 200 is processed, it will lead to greater processing difficulty. Therefore, the shell manufacturing method of the present application can improve processing efficiency.
[0072] To continue, please refer to Figures 2 to 16 The shell 100 includes a heat sealing layer 200, a metal layer 300 and an outer layer 400, and the heat sealing layer 200, the metal layer 300 and the outer layer 400 are stacked and bonded. The heat sealing layer 200 can be a PP layer, the metal layer 300 can be an aluminum layer, and the outer layer 400 can be a nylon layer. Before the heat sealing layer 200, the metal layer 300 and the outer layer 400 are bonded to each other, the heat sealing layer 200 can be processed first, and then the heat sealing layer 200, the metal layer 300 and the outer layer 400 are bonded to each other. After the heat sealing layer 200 is processed, an unprocessed area 220 and a processed area 210 are formed. The processed area 210 can be a through hole or a thinning groove. The through hole can be formed by cutting the heat sealing layer 200, and the thinning groove can be formed by laser processing. The schematic diagram of the processing area 210 as a through hole can be referred to Figure 2 , Figures 4 to 8 The schematic diagram of the processing area 210 as a thinning groove can be referred to Figures 9 to 16. After the heat seal layer 200 is processed into the processing area 210, the thickness of at least one groove wall of the groove 500 can be reduced, thereby expanding the volume of the groove 500. After the thinning groove is processed, the thickness of the original heat seal layer 200 can be reduced, thereby increasing the volume of the groove 500. In addition, it should be noted that the thinning groove can be formed by two parts. For example, a groove can be first processed on the heat seal layer 200, and then a groove can be further processed on the groove wall of the groove to form a thinning groove. For a specific schematic diagram, please refer to Fig.15 and Fig.16 .
[0073] To continue, please refer to Figures 2 to 8 The housing 100 includes a storage portion 600, a cover portion 700 and a sealing portion 800. The storage portion 600 is provided with a groove 500. The cover portion 700 can seal the opening of the groove 500 to form a sealed cavity to package the battery cell. The sealing portion 800 seals the housing 100 by heat sealing. The sealing portion 800 includes a heat sealing layer 200, a metal layer 300 and an outer layer 400. The other areas of the heat sealing layer 200 except the processing area 210 can belong to the sealing portion 800. In addition, please refer to Figure 7 and Fig.13 The cover body 700 can be processed with a through hole or a thinned groove (that is, two processing areas 210 are processed on the heat sealing layer 200), so as to further increase the volume of the groove 500.
[0074] Please refer to Figures 2 to 16 , the above mentioned heat sealing layer 200, metal layer 300 and outer layer 400 are formed into shell 100, and the specific way of forming groove 500 on shell 100 can be that after heat sealing layer 200, metal layer 300 and outer layer 400 are bonded to each other, shell 100 is punched to form groove 500. The wall thickness of at least one groove wall of groove 500 is equal to the sum of thickness of processing area 210, thickness of metal layer 300 and thickness of outer layer 400, which specifically means that at least one groove wall of groove 500 only includes metal layer 300 and outer layer 400. Alternatively, the wall thickness of at least one groove wall of groove 500 is equal to the sum of thickness of processing area 210, thickness of metal layer 300 and thickness of outer layer 400, that is, the groove wall of groove 500 has heat sealing layer 200, metal layer 300 and outer layer 400, but the thickness of heat sealing layer 200 is smaller. In addition, the processed area 210 may be located in the middle portion of the groove 500, and the unprocessed area 220 may be located in the edge portion of the groove 500, so that the maximum thickness of the groove wall of the groove 500 is equal to the sum of the thicknesses of the heat sealing layer 200, the metal layer 300 and the outer layer 400. Figure 8In addition, in some cases, the battery cell may directly contact the middle portion of the groove wall of the groove 500, that is, the battery cell may contact the metal layer 300, which may improve the energy density of the battery.
[0075] Further, the specific structure of the groove 500 after the housing 100 forms the groove 500 is described below. Figure 3 , Figure 4 and Fig.10 In some embodiments, the groove 500 includes two first walls 510 arranged opposite to each other, two second walls 520 arranged opposite to each other, and a third wall 530. The two first walls 510 and the two second walls 520 are connected to the third wall 530 together. In this embodiment, the shape of the groove 500 can be rectangular or square. The two first walls 510 can be located on both sides of the length direction of the groove 500, or the two first walls 510 can be located on both sides of the width direction of the groove 500. The two second walls 520 can be located on both sides of the length direction of the groove 500, or the two second walls 520 can be located on both sides of the width direction of the groove 500. The wall thickness of the third wall 530 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the processing area 210, the thickness of the metal layer 300, and the thickness of the outer layer 400, which can make the volume of the groove 500 larger and improve the energy density of the battery. Among them, when the battery cell is arranged in the shell 100, one side of the thickness direction of the battery cell can abut on the third wall 530. The area of the processing area 210 is equal to the area of the third wall 530 .
[0076] Furthermore, when processing the heat seal layer 200, the processing area 210 can be made larger. Figure 3 , Figure 5 and Fig.11 In some embodiments, the wall thickness of at least one first wall 510 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the processing area 210, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400, which can further expand the size of the groove 500 in the length direction or in the width direction, thereby improving the energy density of the battery.
[0077] Furthermore, the thickness of at least one first wall 510 mentioned above is equal to the sum of the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400. This includes two cases. One case is that the thickness of one first wall 510 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the processing area 210, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400. The other case is that the thickness of both first walls 510 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the processing area 210, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400. Among them, the second case can further improve the energy density of the battery, that is, please refer to Figure 3 , Figure 6 and Fig.12In some embodiments, the thickness of the two first walls 510 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the processing area 210, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400. The area of the processing area 210 is equal to the sum of the area of the third wall 530 and the area of the two first walls 510.
[0078] Further, the first wall 510 mentioned above can expand the size of the groove 500 in the length direction or in the width direction. For example, the first wall 510 can expand the size of the groove 500 in the length direction, wherein the expansion of the size of the groove 500 in the width direction can be achieved by the second wall 520. Therefore, in some embodiments, the wall thickness of at least one second wall 520 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the processing area 210, the thickness of the metal layer 300, and the thickness of the outer layer 400. Specifically, the first wall 510 can expand the size of the groove 500 in the length direction, and the second wall 520 can expand the size of the groove 500 in the width direction, thereby improving the energy density of the battery. Alternatively, the first wall 510 can expand the size of the groove 500 in the width direction, and the second wall 520 can expand the size of the groove 500 in the length direction, thereby improving the energy density of the battery.
[0079] Further, the above-mentioned thickness of at least one second wall 520 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the processing area 210, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400, which includes two cases, one case is that the thickness of one second wall 520 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the processing area 210, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400, and the other case is that the thickness of the two second walls 520 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the processing area 210, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400. Among them, the second case can further improve the energy density of the battery, that is, in some embodiments, the thickness of the two second walls 520 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the processing area 210, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400.
[0080] Further, the specific structure of the groove 500 is further introduced. In some embodiments, the groove 500 includes two first walls 510 arranged opposite to each other, two second walls 520 arranged opposite to each other, and a third wall 530, and the two first walls 510 and the two second walls 520 are connected to the third wall 530 around each other. The wall thickness of one first wall 510 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the processed area 210, the thickness of the metal layer 300, and the thickness of the outer layer 400, and the wall thickness of the other first wall 510 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the unprocessed area 220, the thickness of the metal layer 300, and the thickness of the outer layer 400. In this way, when the two first walls 510 are respectively located on both sides of the length direction of the groove 500, the wall thickness of one first wall 510 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the processed area 210, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400, and the wall thickness of the other first wall 510 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the unprocessed area 220, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400. This arrangement can effectively increase the size of the groove 500 in the length direction, thereby increasing the energy density of the battery. Alternatively, when the two first walls 510 are respectively located on both sides of the width direction of the groove 500, the wall thickness of one first wall 510 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the processed area 210, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400, and the wall thickness of the other first wall 510 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the unprocessed area 220, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400. This arrangement can effectively increase the size of the groove 500 in the width direction, thereby increasing the energy density of the battery.
[0081] Further, the specific structure of the groove 500 is further introduced. In some embodiments, the groove 500 includes two first walls 510 arranged opposite to each other, two second walls 520 arranged opposite to each other, and a third wall 530. The two first walls 510 and the two second walls 520 are connected to the third wall 530 around each other. The wall thickness of one second wall 520 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the processed area 210, the thickness of the metal layer 300, and the thickness of the outer layer 400, and the wall thickness of the other second wall 520 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the unprocessed area 220, the thickness of the metal layer 300, and the thickness of the outer layer 400. In this way, when the two second walls 520 are respectively located on both sides of the length direction of the groove 500, the wall thickness of one second wall 520 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the processed area 210, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400, and the wall thickness of the other second wall 520 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the unprocessed area 220, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400. This arrangement can effectively increase the size of the groove 500 in the length direction, thereby increasing the energy density of the battery. Alternatively, when the two second walls 520 are respectively located on both sides of the width direction of the groove 500, the wall thickness of one second wall 520 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the processed area 210, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400, and the wall thickness of the other second wall 520 is equal to the sum of the thickness of the unprocessed area 220, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400. This arrangement can effectively increase the size of the groove 500 in the width direction, thereby increasing the energy density of the battery.
[0082] In some embodiments, the shell 100 is made by any shell manufacturing method of any one of the embodiments of the first aspect. Specifically, by processing on the heat sealing layer 200, the heat sealing layer 200 has a processing area 210 and an unprocessed area 220, and the processing area 210 can be set as a through hole or a thinning groove, and then the heat sealing layer 200, the metal layer 300 and the outer layer 400 are formed into the shell 100, and after the groove 500 is formed on the shell 100, the wall thickness of at least one groove wall of the groove 500 is the sum of the thickness of the processing area 210, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400, that is, the thickness of at least one groove wall of the groove 500 is less than the thickness of the heat sealing layer 200, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400. This is because the heat sealing layer 200 is processed. In the prior art, after the heat sealing layer 200, the metal layer 300 and the outer layer 400 form the shell 100, the wall thickness of the groove 500 of the shell 100 is the sum of the thicknesses of the heat sealing layer 200, the metal layer 300 and the outer layer 400. In the present application, the heat sealing layer 200 is processed so that the thickness of at least one groove wall of the groove 500 is smaller, which can effectively increase the volume of the groove 500, so that the groove 500 can hold more capacity batteries. In this way, the shell 100 manufactured by the shell manufacturing method can effectively improve the energy density of the battery.
[0083] In some embodiments, the battery includes: a battery cell and a shell 100 of the above embodiment. The battery cell is disposed in the groove 500. Specifically, by processing on the heat sealing layer 200, the heat sealing layer 200 has a processed area 210 and an unprocessed area 220, and the processed area 210 can be set as a through hole or a thinning groove, and then the heat sealing layer 200, the metal layer 300 and the outer layer 400 are formed into the shell 100, and after the groove 500 is formed on the shell 100, the wall thickness of at least one groove wall of the groove 500 is the sum of the thickness of the processed area 210, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400, that is, the thickness of at least one groove wall of the groove 500 is less than the thickness of the heat sealing layer 200, the thickness of the metal layer 300 and the thickness of the outer layer 400. This is because the heat sealing layer 200 is processed. In the prior art, after the heat sealing layer 200, the metal layer 300 and the outer layer 400 form the shell 100, the wall thickness of the groove 500 of the shell 100 is the sum of the thickness of the heat sealing layer 200, the metal layer 300 and the outer layer 400. In the present application, the heat sealing layer 200 is processed so that the thickness of at least one groove wall of the groove 500 is small, which can effectively increase the volume of the groove 500, so that the groove 500 can place more capacity batteries. In this way, the shell 100 made by the shell manufacturing method can effectively improve the energy density of the battery. Further, the battery with the shell 100 has a higher energy density.
