Background Art

[0003] In a few years, much of the world’s population will switch to electric vehicles, which will cause a major and severe surge in the need and demand for electrical energy.

[0004] Currently, solar farms are being built in an attempt to replace or supplement the electricity generated by conventional power stations, but these farms also lead to the destruction of trees and plants, which is likely to have a negative impact on the environment and increase the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. This in turn will lead to more desertification, which may cause even bigger problems in the long run.

[0005] Some have looked to floating solar farms as another option, but these have limitations and can only be deployed where there is water under the right conditions. Among other potential drawbacks, they are also not mobile, or easily transported or deployed, as in Japan, where a fire engulfed a floating solar farm installed in a dam reservoir in late 2019.

[0006] To help overcome the impending energy shortage, Dynamic Vehicle Integrated Turbo Photovoltaics (DVITPV) was introduced to bring a new solution to energy production, eliminating the need for electric vehicle charging stations, avoiding or eliminating dependence on the grid, accelerating the transition to electric vehicles and avoiding further pollution of the environment, among other advantages.

[0007] Further advantages of the invention will be apparent from the detailed description and the claims. Summary of the invention

[0039] Now combine Figure 1-9 to describe one or more embodiments of the present invention.

[0040] The following detailed description should be read with reference to the accompanying drawings, which are not drawn to scale, depict illustrative embodiments, and are not intended to limit the scope of the invention.

[0041] refer to Figures 1 to 8 In another embodiment, the present invention may be used in conjunction with mobile or static electric vehicle charging stations and may be deployed throughout the world to charge electric vehicles (as well as to charge any other specific structure), thereby replacing the need to draw power from the standard power grid and / or providing power in locations where there is no power grid.

[0042] Reference Figures 1 to 4 , one or more generator sets 800 may be provided, which may be removably connected to a vehicle 802. Figures 1 to 5 In the illustrated embodiment, the generator set 800 can be connected to the roof 804 and / or the hood 810 of the vehicle 802; however, it will be appreciated that the generator set 800 can also be attached to other components of the vehicle 802. Preferably, the vehicle 802 is an electric vehicle (i.e., a vehicle that uses an electric motor for propulsion). The vehicle 802 can be a road vehicle, but can also include other types of vehicles, including boats, airplanes, bicycles, motorcycles, trains, etc. The generator set 800 can include a housing 801 containing one or more battery pack layers 806. The housing 801 can provide protection for the generator set 800 from weather, birds, trees, etc. The generator set 800 can be in a folded configuration, such as Figure 1 As shown, or they may be in an expanded or unfolded configuration, e.g. Figure 531a, 31b, 32, 33a, 33b, 34a, 34b, 36a, 43a, 44a, 45b and / or 51 of U.S. Application 17 / 561,807. The battery layer 806 may include one or more PV panels (photovoltaic panels) 114 to convert solar energy into electrical energy. The PV panels 114 may be in a folded or unfolded configuration. Preferably, the generator set 800 is electrically connected to a battery / battery 808 located on the vehicle 802. The battery 808 may be located at the front or rear of the vehicle 802, or at any other suitable location on the vehicle 802. The electricity generated by the PV panels 114 of the generator set 800 can be used to charge the battery / battery 808, which in turn can be used to provide power to propel the vehicle 802. Multiple generator sets 800 of the generator set 800 can also be attached to the vehicle 802 to increase the amount of power supplied to the battery / battery 808. Additionally, generator set 800 may be oriented in different orientations (eg, vertically or horizontally).

[0043] In another embodiment, the genset 800 may be integrally formed with the vehicle 802. In other words, the vehicle 802 may have one or more gensets 800 embedded or integrated at one or more locations on the vehicle 802.

[0044] In addition, the generator set 800 can also generate electricity using wind energy. Each generator set 800 includes one or more turbine generators 814 located in the housing 801, and the turbine generator 814 is configured to generate electricity when the vehicle 802 moves. For example, when the vehicle 802 is in motion, the generator set 800 can be configured to generate electricity when air passes through the turbine generator 814. The generator set 800 can be referred to as DVITPV (Dynamic Vehicle Integrated Turbo Photovoltaic). The generator set 800 can generate electricity using solar energy and wind energy at the same time. In one embodiment, the shape of the turbine generator 814 can generally be tubular or spindle-shaped, although other shapes are also possible.

[0045] In one embodiment, the generator set 800 can also be used with an electric vehicle charging station to generate electricity from one or both of wind and solar energy (e.g., when there is not enough light but there is enough wind, or vice versa). In addition, the generator set 800 can be used in buildings or other types of transportation (e.g., airplanes, trains, ships, bicycles, etc.).

[0046] Vehicles 802 propelled by electric motors (e.g., electric cars) generally do not require a bulky engine 810 to be installed under the hood. Therefore, it is possible to install one or more generator assemblies 800 under the hood 810, with a grille 816 that can deliver air to a turbine generator 814 to generate electricity. Similarly, for the generator set 800 located on the top 804, the PV panels 114 can be used to generate electricity from solar energy. When the generator sets 800 are used in other types of transport vessels, they can be placed in appropriate locations of such transport vessels (e.g., on the wings or fuselage of an aircraft, etc.). For example, for an aircraft, the generator set 800 can be used similar to a jet engine and can provide electricity to extend the range of the aircraft. It is also possible to use conventional fan blades (propellers) and generator sets 800 on an aircraft.

[0047] refer to Figures 6 to 8 , the turbine generator 814 may include a plurality of blades 818 that are configured to rotate about an axis 820 as air passes through the blades 818. Preferably, the blades 818 are completely enclosed within the housing 801, such that the blades 818 are generally not visible. In such an embodiment, the housing 801 may be perforated to allow air to pass through the housing 801. However, it is also contemplated that in other embodiments, the blades 818 or at least a portion thereof may be located outside the housing 801. The turbine generator 814 also includes a generator 822 that converts the rotational energy of the shaft 820 into electrical energy. Conventional wind turbine generators are static and generate electricity when wind blows toward them. With the present invention, the opposite is true. When the vehicle 802 is moving, the vehicle 802 moves against the air, causing the air to pass over the blades 818. The relative movement of the air to the blades 818 causes the blades 818 to rotate, which in turn causes the generator 822 to generate electricity.

[0048] The turbine generators 814 can be interconnected using gears with a pendulum effect, so once one of the turbine generators 814 is triggered, the rest of the turbine generators 814 will also be activated. This can increase the efficiency of the turbine generators 814 when the wind is not particularly strong. This may be used in electric vehicle charging stations (which are usually static rather than mobile).

[0049] The top and bottom covers of the generator set 800 can also be used to draw in air, thereby producing a Venturi effect. However, in general, when the vehicle 802 is in motion, the airflow intensity entering the blades 818 is relatively high. Figures 6 to 8 An example of a turbine generator 814 is depicted. For example, Figure 6 The plurality of turbine generators 814 shown can be connected together to generate electricity for the vehicle 802 (to propel the vehicle 802 or to charge the battery 808). When more electricity is required, the turbine generators 814 can be used. Figure 7The (larger) turbine generator 814 is shown. For example, Figure 7 The turbine generator 814 shown may have an overall length of 1000 mm or more depending on the vehicle and may include multiple sets of turbine generators 822. The turbine generator 814 may have a diameter of 100 mm to 600 mm or more, with the blades and turbine generator size varying depending on the energy output required by the vehicle or unit, which will determine the size and capacity of the turbine.

[0050] Conventional wind turbines are mounted on vertical poles or housings; however, in this embodiment, anchors are mounted at both ends or otherwise, and the turbine generator 814 can be oriented vertically or horizontally, so that it can be connected to at least two of the turbines 822 at opposite ends or otherwise, thereby increasing the power generation (e.g. Figure 8 As shown), and gears or pulleys or belts may also be used.

[0051] The use of generator set 800 will allow vehicle 802 and other transport craft to travel longer and indeterminate distances using solar or wind energy or a combination of both. This will reduce or eliminate the need for charging stations as the energy is primarily used for initial start-up and when stationary. When the vehicle is started, the turbine begins charging the battery and the vehicle. This will allow vehicles to be equipped with two or more smaller batteries than currently used and allow the vehicle to switch between these two batteries on a backup basis or when one battery is depleted, thus will allow for indefinite vehicle operation time and distance without the need for large batteries and charging stations or delayed charging stations, and will ultimately lead to the use of two or more small batteries for unlimited distance vehicle operation. This will be a major solution for saving battery minerals and raw materials, reducing vehicle weight and cost, and an environmentally friendly solution. This will also facilitate the export of such electric vehicles to anywhere in the world, especially as a climate / environmental solution in less developed countries or areas where there are few or no charging stations.

[0052] By using the generator set 800 on the vehicle 802, when the vehicle 802 is in motion, airflow will pass through the generator set 800, thereby generating electricity. Essentially, the movement of the vehicle 802 generates "wind" through the generator set 800, thereby generating electricity. This allows the generator set 800 to be used in all locations, regardless of the sun and wind, because the wind is generated when the vehicle is started. For example, generally speaking, most electric vehicles require about 35KW of battery charging to travel 100 miles. Therefore, an EV with two small batteries, one or more DVITPV turbines generating 35 kilowatts per hour or even less, can allow one battery to run the car while the other battery is charged when the EV is in motion, and then the system will alternate between the two batteries to keep the vehicle running indefinitely. Therefore, two 10KW batteries and 20KW DVITPV turbines can keep the vehicle running indefinitely. This will reduce the overall size, weight, cost and dependence on grid power of the batteries, thereby protecting the environment, while allowing the EV to travel forever without the need for any charging stations or charging from its own DVITPV device, regardless of cold climates or other obstacles. Alternatively, for example, a 20kW / hr DVITPV unit on a train can generate 460kW in 23 hours, equivalent to 167,900kW / year or 167.9MW / year, which can power villages and cities when fed back to overhead lines or batteries. Generally speaking, these turbine generators start at an average wind speed of 6 mph, which is similar to very little drag. This will not have a serious impact on the vehicle's drag coefficient, but any drag can be compensated by using higher output motors to increase the vehicle's power, as enough energy can be created for them.

[0053] The use of generator set 800 will reduce or eliminate the problem of reduced range and slower charging times for electric vehicles in cold climates. Studies have shown that cold weather can reduce the range of electric vehicles by as much as 40%. It is believed that this reduction is mainly due to the energy used to heat the coolant in battery 808 to prevent it from freezing and to heat the passenger cabin. Another problem with electric vehicles is charging time in extreme climates. For example, in low temperatures, charging time can be extended by 36% (for example, comparing charging time at 25 degrees Celsius and 0 degrees Celsius).

[0054] The use of generator set 800 may reduce the need for large capacity batteries, which may reduce the extraction of certain chemicals (e.g., lithium) from the environment. Overall, this will have a positive impact on the environment. The use of generator set 800 may also help reduce the overall carbon footprint of electric vehicles compared to traditional internal combustion engines. For example, because generator set 800 is removably connected to vehicle 802, generator set 800 can be turned on and off on vehicle 802 as needed. Generator set 800 can be removably connected to vehicle 802 using various mechanisms, such as mechanical fasteners, adhesives, clips, etc.

[0055] The following are Figures 6 to 8 Some example calculations for turbine generator 814.

[0056] For example, for Figure 6 The turbine generator 814 shown: can be of any size and shape coupled to the shape of the blades or other types such as conventional propeller blades, there can be more than one turbine generator connected to the blades / propeller, depending on the power required, which can range from a small size turbine with a 20 cm diameter and 9 cm thickness output of 100 watts / hour to a turbine with a 60 cm diameter and 19 cm thickness or more output of 10KW / hour

[0057] The width of the vehicle 802 is typically 1,600 to 1,800 cm, while the average width of the roof 804 is about 1,500 cm, so several 100 Watt / hour 20 cm diameter generators can be stacked together to form a package to produce enough KW to charge the battery / batteries, and since the length of the roof 804 is typically about 1,000 cm, it is possible to have several horizontally placed main shafts, so it is possible to have at least two turbine generators 814 (one at each end or any other form) per unit.

[0058] Additionally, it would be possible to fit one or more larger wind turbine generators, such as a 20KW / watt-hour wind turbine generator 814, which is approximately 62 cm in diameter and 20 cm thick, in the front of the vehicle 802 (e.g. under the hood 810, where the engine was previously placed). These could also be used on aircraft, where a number of such turbines (larger or smaller) could be installed in various designs and various sizes to allow the aircraft to fly extended or unlimited distances, by charging a number of onboard batteries, which would alternately power the aircraft, which could change the tourism industry by reducing costs and making more travel better for all mankind.

[0059] In another embodiment, in the case where there are multiple batteries 808 on the vehicle 802, at least one battery 808 can be used to assist in the propulsion of the vehicle 802, while the rest of the batteries 808 can be removed and used to provide power to other vehicles 802 or other purposes. For example, to power a residence or commercial unit / structure / factory. Considering that an average household consumes about 3kWh of electricity per day, therefore, portable batteries can be easily charged by a vehicle with DVITPV, instead of using the grid to power homes and commercial units, to reduce environmental pollution to the earth.

[0060] refer to Fig. 9 In another embodiment, one or more generator sets 800 can be removably connected to a building or other fixed structure to generate electricity from wind energy. For example, the generator sets 800 can be placed at different locations on the structure 400. This allows the generator sets 800 to generate electricity in a compact space. Such an embodiment can be referred to as a building integrated turbine generator (BITV).

[0061] In another embodiment, the generator set 800 may omit the battery layer 806. In other words, the generator set 800 will only utilize the turbine generator 814 to generate electricity.

[0062] While the invention disclosed herein has been described by way of specific embodiments and applications thereof, numerous modifications and variations may be made thereto by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the invention as described in the claims.
