Abstract

A solid propellant negative pressure casting molding apparatus and method are disclosed. The apparatus includes a storage hopper, with a constant-temperature heating tape connected to the outside of the constant-temperature heating zone of the lower half of the storage hopper. The outlet of the storage hopper is connected to a threaded funnel. The threaded funnel is connected to a threaded pipe, and a discharge orifice plate is connected to a vacuum chamber. A pressure monitoring port on the vacuum chamber is connected to a pressure gauge. A vacuum extraction port is connected to a vacuum pipeline. The vacuum pipeline is sequentially connected to a vacuum valve and a vacuum pump. A receiving mold is placed inside the vacuum chamber. The constant-temperature heating tape heats the storage hopper to keep the propellant slurry warm. Different combinations of the discharge orifice plate, threaded funnel, and discharge orifice plate achieve vacuum chamber sealing and negative pressure extraction, and rapid and efficient degassing of the propellant slurry. The vacuum chamber adopts a side-pull cubic design, which facilitates the replacement of different receiving molds to achieve casting of solid propellants of different sizes and shapes. The overall structure of this invention is simple, the molding method is convenient, the degassing efficiency is high, and the device can be disassembled, cleaned, and reused after casting.
