Description

[0001] The present application relates generally to wireless communications, and in particular to 5G communications.

[0002] With the development of wireless multimedia services, the demand for high data rates and good user experience is increasing, and higher requirements are placed on the system compatibility and coverage of traditional cellular networks. On the other hand, due to application scenarios such as public safety, social networks, near-field data sharing, and local advertising, the demand for proximity services is also increasing. Traditionally, cellular networks using base stations as the center may have obvious limitations in supporting high data rates and proximity services. In order to meet these requirements, device-to-device (D2D) communication technology is proposed. By applying D2D communication technology, the burden on cellular networks can be reduced, the power consumption of user equipment (UE) can be reduced, the data rate can be increased, and the robustness of the network infrastructure can be improved. Therefore, the demand for high data rates and proximity services is greatly met. In this context, D2D communication technology is also called proximity service (ProSe) or sidelink communication, where the interface between UEs is called the sidelink interface.

[0003] UEs using sidelink communication support two resource modes, namely, Mode 1 and Mode 2. For Mode 1, the UE uses resources scheduled by the network to transmit sidelink data. For Mode 2, the UE selects transmission resources on its own to transmit sidelink data.

[0004] Furthermore, wireless communications are performed on carriers or frequency bands. 5G technology, including sidelink, has two different frequency ranges, and the different ranges are designated as FR1 (frequency range 1) and FR2 (frequency range 2). The frequency bands in FR1 are envisioned to carry most of the traditional cellular mobile communication traffic. The higher frequency bands in FR2 are intended to provide short-range very high data rate capabilities for 5G radios. As 5G wireless technology is expected to carry higher speed data, additional bandwidth in these higher frequency bands will be required. Initially, the FR1 band was intended to define the frequency band below 6 GHz, but with the expected additional spectrum allocation, the FR1 range was extended to 7.125 GHz after the global spectrum allocation agreement was reached at WRC19 (World Radio Conference 2019). Currently, UEs may be able to communicate directly with each other on carriers within FR1 (i.e., without the use of base stations). To increase data rates, sidelink communications can be applied on carriers within FR2.

[0005] When using low and medium frequencies, signals can be transmitted in all directions or at relatively wide angles. However, when using very high frequencies (for example, carriers in FR2), a huge antenna array may be required. Due to the use of such a huge antenna array, the radiation generated will be a beam. The corresponding technology is called beamforming. For a device, each beam occupies a specific direction. By adopting different transmission parameters, the wireless device can control the direction of the beam. However, when communicating with other devices, it is necessary to solve problems such as which beam should be used, whether the used beam still works well, and how to use the beam to select resources for transmitting data.

[0006] The present application relates to a method, system and device for D2D communication, and in particular to a method, system and device for D2D communication using a carrier within a frequency range (eg, FR2).

[0177] In one embodiment, the beam measurement configuration may include an ordering amount.

[0178] In one embodiment, the beam measurement configuration may include a reporting quantity.

[0179] For example, the ranking or reporting quantity may be / include at least one of: reference signal received power (RSRP), reference signal received quality (RSRQ), received signal strength indicator (RSSI), signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR), preferred level, recommended level, channel busy rate, or non-preferred level.

[0181] The beam measurement result may be at least one of RSRP, RSRQ, RSSI or SINR.

[0182] In one embodiment, a beam is represented by a beam ID.

[0183] In one embodiment, the one or more beam measurement results include at least one beam ID (identifier), where the beam ID can be an ID of a beam RS (reference signal), a beam index, or an index of a beam RS.

[0184] In one embodiment, the RX UE includes the beam IDs in order of decreasing ranking amount. [0192] In one embodiment, due to changes in channel quality, the selected beam may not be suitable for communication. In this case, the UE (e.g., TX UE or Figure 2 The first user equipment shown in FIG. 1 needs to perform beam selection again (ie, trigger beam reselection (process)) to select another beam.

[0199] In one embodiment, when / if the UE performs beam (re)selection, the UE determines the beams with measurement results higher than the beam selection threshold as candidate beams. The beam selection threshold may be received from the network. Alternatively or additionally, the beam selection threshold may also be received from a peer UE.

[0200] In one embodiment, if / when the UE performs beam (re)selection, the UE selects a beam within the intersection of the candidate beam list and the preferred beam list received from the peer UE. That is, the selected beam is in both the candidate beam list and the preferred beam list.

[0201] In one embodiment, for beam (re)selection, the TX UE performs at least one of the following operations:

[0203] - Exclude beams with measurement results below a threshold from candidate beams.

[0204] - Eliminate non-preferred beams from candidate beams.

[0205] - Select a beam from the candidate beams.

[0206] -Select a beam from the preferred beam list received from the RX UE.

[0207] - Select a beam from overlapping candidate beams and the preferred beam received from the RX UE.

[0208] - If a beam failure is detected on this beam, then exclude this beam from the candidate beams.

[0209] - If beam failure on this beam is completed, then exclude this beam from the candidate beams.

[0210] In one embodiment, the beam selection threshold is configured by the network.

[0218] In one embodiment, if the UE determines that beam reselection is triggered, the UE triggers resource reselection.

[0219] In one embodiment, if the UE determines that beam switching is triggered, the UE triggers resource reselection.

[0220] Figure 3 A flow chart of two user equipments communicating with each other according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is shown. In one embodiment, the RX UE may provide some resource assistance information to the TX UE, and the TX UE selects resources according to the resource assistance information.

[0221] In one embodiment, when a peer UE (e.g., RX UE or Figure 3 After the second user equipment (shown in FIG. 1 ) receives the resource assistance information, the UE (eg, the TX UE or the first user equipment) determines whether at least one of the following conditions is met:

[0222] - the auxiliary information is located in the selected resource pool, or

[0223] - Receive auxiliary information from the selected resource pool.

[0224] If the conditions are met, the UE considers the auxiliary information during resource selection. For example, the UE selects resources within the intersection of the preferred resource set and its own sensing results.

[0225] In one embodiment, if / when the UE performs beam (re)selection, the UE selects a beam within the intersection of the candidate beam list and the recommended beam list received from the peer UE.

[0226] The resource assistance information may include a set of resources, such as preferred resources, non-preferred resources. Based on the monitoring results of different beam directions BD1 and BD2: on beam direction BD1, time slots 1, 2, and 3 are available and are regarded as candidate resource sets associated with beam direction BD1. On beam direction BD2, time slots 3, 4, and 5 are available and are regarded as candidate resource sets associated with beam direction BD2.

[0228] In one embodiment, if / when the UE needs to select a transmission resource, the UE selects a beam from the candidate beams and selects a resource from the candidate resources associated with the selected beam.

[0229] In one embodiment, the UE may not select a beam during resource selection. The UE may determine which beam to use when generating a MAC PDU. Therefore, resources associated with a candidate beam may be selected. Alternatively or additionally, when the UE needs to select a transmission resource, the UE selects the resource from the candidate resources associated with the candidate beam. Alternatively or additionally, when the UE needs to select a transmission resource, the UE selects the resource from the candidate resources associated with any candidate beam of the destination (e.g., RX UE) of the logical channel with the highest priority.

[0230] In one embodiment, the UE determines that the selected transmission resource is a sidelink grant or a selected grant or a selected sidelink grant.

[0231] In one embodiment, after selecting the transmission resource, the UE needs to allocate the transmission resource. In response to the UE needing to select a destination for resource allocation, the UE selects the destination (eg, if the beam granted by the sidelink is a candidate beam for the destination).

[0232] The sidelink permitted beam is a beam of transmission resources selected from the resource set of the beam. For example, transmission resource 1 is selected from the resource set (1, 2, 3) of beam 1, and transmission resource -1 is regarded as the selected sidelink permitted beam, then beam 1 is the sidelink permitted beam.

[0233] In one embodiment, in response to the UE needing to select a destination for resource allocation, if the measurement result of the beam of the sidelink grant received from the destination UE is higher than the beam selection threshold, the UE selects the destination. For example, the UE selects transmission resource-1 from the resource set of beam-1 and regards the selected transmission resource as a grant. Then, the beam of the sidelink grant is on beam direction BD1. For destination-1, the measurement result of the beam on beam direction BD1 is 53, which is higher than the beam selection threshold = 38. Destination-1 can be selected. For destination-2, the measurement result of the beam on beam direction BD2 is 20, which is less than the beam selection threshold = 38. Therefore, destination-2 should not be selected.

[0234] In one embodiment, a peer destination UE may report only beams whose measurement results are above a measurement result reporting threshold. If the UE needs to select a destination (UE) for resource allocation, the UE selects the destination (UE) if the beam of the sidelink grant is within the beam list reported by the destination (UE). For example, transmission resource (1) is selected from the resource set (1, 2, 3) of beam-1 and is considered as the selected sidelink grant. Destination UE-1 measures beam-1 and determines not to include beam-1 in the measurement report because the measurement result of beam-1 is below the measurement result reporting threshold. In other words, the beam measurement report may only include (beams 2, 3, 4). During destination selection of destination UE-1, since the selected beam-1 is not within the beam list (2, 3, 4) reported by destination UE-1, destination UE-1 should not be selected. For destination UE-2, beam list (1, 2, 3) is reported. During destination selection, since the selected beam-1 is within the beam list (1, 2, 3) reported by destination UE-2, destination UE-2 may be selected.

[0235] In one embodiment, the UE may have power saving requirements. To save power, the UE may perform discontinuous reception (DRX). Specifically, the UE monitors the channel for reception only during the active time of the DRX, where the active time is a duration. The active time includes at least one of the following:

[0236] 1. The time between the transmission of a discovery message and the reception of a discovery response message;

[0237] 2. The time between the transmission of the beam failure recovery message and the reception of the beam failure recovery response message;

[0238] 3. The time between the time when the beam failure is detected and the time when the beam failure recovery process is completed; or

[0239] 4. The time between the time the beam failure recovery process is started and the time the beam failure recovery process is completed.

[0240] Sidelink relay DRX (discontinuous reception):

[0241] In one embodiment, if a discovery message is transmitted and a response message is received, the UE considers that it is in the active time of sidelink relay DRX.

[0242] In one embodiment, if a beam failure is detected, the UE considers that it is in the active time of the sidelink relay DRX. In this embodiment, the UE considers that it is not in the active time of the sidelink relay DRX after the beam failure is recovered.

[0243] In one embodiment, the UE detects a failure on an indirect path to a destination (eg, a second wireless communication device) and is unable to transmit SRB1 to the destination, the UE applies a default SRB configuration on the Uu path to the destination and performs transmission via the Uu interface / path.

[0244] In one embodiment, the indirect path refers to a path for the first wireless communication device to communicate with the second wireless communication device via a third wireless communication device (eg, a relay terminal).

[0245] Figure 4 FIG. 1 shows a flow chart of two user devices communicating with each other according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. [0246] In one embodiment, dedicated configurations are used for independent signals.

[0247] In one embodiment, the independent signaling includes at least one of a beam RS, a sidelink control information, or a beam RS measurement request.

[0248] In one embodiment, the beam RS may be a CSI (Channel State Information) RS, an SRS (Sounding Reference Signal), or a sidelink SSB (Synchronization Signal / Physical Broadcast Channel Block).

[0249] In one embodiment, a first user equipment (e.g., TX UE) sends at least one of the following independent signaling transmission information to a second user equipment (e.g., network), and receives a sidelink grant (e.g., dedicated configuration) for independent signaling from the second user equipment network:

[0250] 1. The time period of independent signaling;

[0251] 2. Delay bounds for independent signaling;

[0252] 3. Resource scheduling request for independent signaling.

[0253] In one embodiment, the independent signaling transmission information is included in at least one of RRC signaling, MAC CE (Medium Access Control Element) or Buffer Status Report MAC CE.

[0254] In one embodiment, the second user equipment sends at least one of the following independent signaling configurations to the first user equipment, and the first user equipment sends independent signaling (e.g., to another user equipment):

[0255] 1. Priority of independent signaling

[0256] 2. Scheduling request ID, which indicates the scheduling request configuration applicable to independent signaling

[0257] 3. LCID of independent signal

[0258] 4. Logical channel groups for independent signaling.

[0259] In one embodiment, if the first user equipment has no resources for transmitting independent signaling, the first user equipment triggers a scheduling request.

[0268] Figure 7 A schematic diagram of a network / system (architecture) according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is shown. Figure 7In the embodiment, the first communication node communicates with the second communication node. For example, the first communication node and the second communication node may be Figure 1 The first user equipment and the second user equipment shown. The first communication node can communicate directly with the second communication node. As an alternative or in addition, the first communication node can communicate via a relay terminal ( Figure 7 The relay terminal may be a UE.

[0269] Figure 8 A schematic diagram showing a direct path and an indirect path according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is shown.

[0270] exist Figure 8 In the present invention, a UE (e.g., a remote UE) can be connected to a network via multiple paths. One path is called a direct path: the UE is directly connected to the network / accesses the network / communicates with the network. Another path is called an indirect path: the UE is connected to the network via a relay UE. The UE is connected to the relay UE via a side link interface (e.g., a side link interface).

[0271] When / if the UE is not yet connected to the network (e.g., the UE is in RRC idle or RRC inactive state), the UE may connect to the network via a direct path or an indirect path. After connecting to the network, the network may add another path to the UE. For example, the UE may initiate a connection with the network via a direct path, and the network may add an indirect path to the UE (communicate with the UE). Alternatively, the UE initiates a connection with the network via an indirect path, and the network adds a direct path to the UE.

[0272] For each radio bearer (RB) of a UE, each RB can be configured on a direct path or an indirect path, or on both (i.e., multiple paths). In other words, the RB type can be a direct path RB, an indirect path RB, or a multipath RB. For a direct path RB, the RB is configured with a Uu RLC (Radio Link Control) configuration. For an indirect path RB, the RB is configured with a sidelink RLC configuration. For a multipath bearer, the RB is configured with a Uu RLC configuration and a sidelink RLC configuration.

[0273] When / after the connection of one path fails due to at least one of radio link failure, beam failure, or listen-before-talk failure, the UE may report failure information via another path. For example, if the direct path fails, the UE reports failure information via an indirect path. If the indirect path fails, the UE reports failure information via the direct path.

[0274] In one embodiment, the fault information can only be transmitted via a specific RB, such as SRB1 (Signaling Radio Bearer 1).

[0275] If a specific RB is an indirect path bearer and if the indirect path fails, the UE changes the RB type of the RB from an indirect path bearer to a direct path bearer, applies a default sidelink RLC configuration to the specific RB, and transmits failure information to the network.

[0276] If a specific RB is a direct path bearer and if the direct path fails, the UE changes the RB type of the RB from a direct path bearer to an indirect path bearer, applies a default Uu RLC configuration to the specific RB, and transmits failure information to the network.

[0277] In one embodiment, when a UE (e.g., a remote UE) is connected to a network via an indirect path (i.e., via a relay UE), the relay UE needs to be configured with an RLC configuration. The RLC configuration is used for the relay UE to forward packets of the remote UE. In order to allow the relay UE to distinguish whether the received RLC bearer belongs to the remote UE or the relay UE, the RLC configuration includes a first indication. After receiving the RLC configuration with the remote UE indication, the relay UE determines that the RLC configuration is used to forward traffic / data of the remote UE. In one embodiment, the UE receives at least one of the following first indications from the network: a remote UE indication, a remote UE ID, an indirect path indication, a relay UE indication, a relay UE ID, a direct path indication, a UE aggregation indication. In one embodiment, the first indication is included in the RLC configuration.

[0278] In one embodiment, the UE receives channel occupancy time (COT) sharing information including a shared COT from a peer UE. COT refers to a continuous or non-continuous duration occupied by performing listen-before-talk. The selected transmission resource may not be within the shared COT. In order to utilize the COT sharing information as much as possible, if the selected transmission resource is not within the shared COT, the UE can trigger resource reselection. For example, if all selected transmission resources are not within the shared COT, or there is an unselected candidate resource and the candidate resource is within the shared COT, the UE can trigger resource reselection. The selected transmission resource is regarded as a selected grant.

[0279] In one embodiment, if the selected transmission resource is not available within the shared COT, the UE triggers resource reselection.

[0280] In one embodiment, if there are no resources within the intersection of the UE's sensing results and the COT shared by peer UEs, the UE selects transmission resources from its own sensing results.

[0281] In one embodiment, if there is no resource within the intersection of the UE's sensing result and the COT obtained by the UE, the UE selects a transmission resource from the sensing result.

[0282] In one embodiment, if the candidate resources are available and within the shared COT, the UE should trigger resource reselection.

[0283] In one embodiment, if any selected transmission resource is not within the shared COT, the UE should trigger resource reselection.

[0284] In one embodiment, the sensing result includes a set of candidate resource sets determined by the UE.

[0285] In one embodiment, in addition to COT sharing, the UE obtains the COT by performing Type 1 listen-before-talk. If the selected transmission resource is not within the obtained COT, the UE triggers resource reselection. Alternatively, if all selected transmission resources are not within the obtained COT, the UE triggers resource reselection. Alternatively, if all selected transmission resources are not within the obtained COT, the UE should trigger resource reselection. Alternatively, if no selected transmission resource is within the obtained COT, the UE should trigger resource reselection. Optionally, if the candidate resource is available and within the obtained COT, the UE should trigger resource reselection. Optionally, if any selected transmission resource is not within the obtained COT, the UE should trigger resource reselection.

[0286] In one embodiment, if negative acknowledgement only is enabled and no negative acknowledgement is received for the transmission of a MAC PDU, the UE treats the remaining transmission resources of the MAC PDU as transmission resources for another MAC PDU.
