[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
[0002] This application claims priority to and the benefit of Korean Patent Application No. 10-2023-0146287, filed on October 30, 2023, which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety. Technical Field
[0003] The invention relates to a multi-input charging device and method. Background Art
[0004] In electric vehicles, energy from a high-voltage battery is transferred to the drive motor through AC to DC power conversion in an inverter, thereby driving the vehicle.
[0005] There are two charging methods for high-voltage batteries: slow charging and fast charging. Among them, the fast charging method is a method of directly charging the battery at high power by converting the power converted from the external charging infrastructure into DC through fast electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), and currently there are 50kW-500V / 100A, 100kW-500V / 200A, 200kW-500V / 400A, 400kW-1000V / 400A infrastructures around the world.
[0006] For example, in the case of an 800V-class battery system, the existing fast charging method can use a 1000V-class fast charging infrastructure, but when using a 500V-class infrastructure, the fast charger output voltage is only 500V (450V maximum considering margin control), so the power supply is limited, and an intermediate boost process is required for this. The vehicle under development uses the coil of the motor and the power conversion switch of the inverter to boost the voltage. This method of fast charging in a 500 / 1000V-class infrastructure through a motor and an inverter is called a multi-input charging method. Summary of the invention
[0007] The present invention relates to a multi-input charging device and method, and a specific embodiment relates to a multi-input charging device and method that can improve charging efficiency by using a disconnect switch execution system (DAS) in the case of multi-input charging.
[0008] Embodiments of the present invention provide a multi-input charging apparatus and method capable of performing multi-charging at a rotor position with optimal charging efficiency by changing a rotor position of a drive motor during multi-charging using a disconnect switch execution system (DAS) and calculating charging efficiency based on the rotor position.
[0009] A multi-input charging device may include: a disconnector actuation system (DAS) controller configured to disengage the DAS upon receiving a multi-charging input signal; a charging efficiency calculator configured to calculate a charging efficiency of a battery based on a rotor position of a rotor of a drive motor; a rotor controller configured to change the rotor position through motor speed control until a specific rotor position with the highest charging efficiency is detected; and a charging controller configured to start multi-charging at the specific rotor position.
[0010] When the multi-charge protection mode is set, the DAS controller is configured to confirm the conditions of park engagement and motor speed being 0 KPH (kilometers per hour), and disengage the DAS in response to receiving a multi-charge input signal from the charging station.
[0011] The DAS controller is configured to reengage the DAS when the rotor is fixed at a particular rotor position.
[0012] The charging efficiency calculator is configured to calculate the charging efficiency of the battery by comparing an input voltage and an input current input from the charging station to the battery with an output voltage and an output current of the battery.
[0013] The rotor controller is configured to change the rotor position by a specific angle at a preset period.
[0014] The specific angle is an angle of the resolver corresponding to an electrical angle of a predetermined level.
[0015] After the rotor position changes at a preset cycle, the charging efficiency calculator is configured to calculate a first charging efficiency of the battery at a first rotor position before the change and a second charging efficiency of the battery at a second rotor position after the change.
[0016] When it is determined that the second charging efficiency is higher by comparing the first charging efficiency and the second charging efficiency, the rotor controller is configured to continue changing the rotor position.
[0017] When it is determined that the first charging efficiency is equal to or higher than the second charging efficiency by comparing the first charging efficiency and the second charging efficiency, the rotor controller is configured to fix the rotor position to the rotor position before the change.
[0018] The specific rotor position may be a rotor position where a rotor and a stator of the drive motor are aligned.
[0019] A multi-input charging method includes the following steps: upon receiving a multi-charging input signal, disengaging a disconnect switch execution system (DAS); confirming an initial rotor position of a rotor of a drive motor; calculating a charging efficiency of a battery at the initial rotor position by an initial charging current; changing the rotor position by motor speed control; calculating a charging efficiency of the battery at the changed rotor position; changing the rotor position until a specific rotor position with the highest charging efficiency is detected; after the specific rotor position is detected, fixing the rotor position to the specific rotor position and starting multi-charging by reengaging the DAS.
[0020] The step of disengaging the DAS when receiving the multiple charging input signal includes: when the multiple charging protection mode is set, confirming the conditions of park engagement and motor speed being 0 KPH, and disengaging the DAS in response to receiving the multiple charging input signal from the charging station.
[0021] The step of confirming an initial rotor position of the drive motor includes confirming the initial rotor position based on an angle detected by a resolver of the stopped drive motor.
[0022] The step of changing the rotor position includes rotating the rotary transformer angle of the rotor by a specific angle at a preset cycle.
[0023] The step of calculating the charging efficiency of the battery at the changed rotor position includes calculating the charging efficiency of the battery by comparing an input voltage and an input current input to the battery from the charging station with an output voltage and an output current of the battery.
[0024] The step of changing the rotor position until a specific rotor position with the highest charging efficiency is detected includes: by comparing a first charging efficiency of the rotor position before the change and a second charging efficiency of the rotor position after the change in each cycle, and continuing to change the rotor position when the second charging efficiency is higher.
[0025] The step of changing the rotor position until a specific rotor position with the highest charging efficiency is detected also includes: by comparing a first charging efficiency of the rotor position before the change with a second charging efficiency of the rotor position after the change in each cycle, and stopping changing the rotor position when the first charging efficiency is equal to or higher than the second charging efficiency.
[0026] When the specific rotor position is detected, fixing the rotor position to the specific rotor position includes determining a rotor position before the change having a first charging efficiency as the specific rotor position, and fixing the rotor position to the specific rotor position.
[0027] The specific rotor position may be a rotor position when a rotor and a stator of the drive motor are aligned.
[0028] Rotating the resolver angle of the rotor by a specific angle may include rotating the angle of the rotor by an electrical angle corresponding to the specific angle.
[0029] According to the multi-input charging apparatus and method of the embodiment, multi-charging can be performed at a rotor position with optimal charging efficiency by changing the rotor position of the drive motor during multi-charging using a disconnect switch execution system (DAS) and calculating the charging efficiency based on the rotor position. [0038] Embodiments of the present invention will be described more fully below with reference to the accompanying drawings so that those of ordinary skill in the art can easily implement these embodiments. As will be appreciated by those skilled in the art, the described embodiments can be modified in various ways, all of which do not depart from the spirit or scope of the embodiments of the present invention. In order to illustrate embodiments of the present invention, parts that are not related to the description will be omitted, and the same reference numerals will be used throughout the specification to refer to the same elements or equivalents.
[0039] In addition, unless explicitly described to the contrary, the word "comprise" and variations such as "contain" or "have" will be understood to mean including the stated elements but not excluding any other elements. Terms including ordinal numbers, such as first and second, are used to describe various constituent elements, but the constituent elements are not limited by these terms. These terms are only used to distinguish one component from other components.
[0040] In addition, the terms "unit", "section" or "part", "device" and "module" etc. in the specification refer to a unit that processes at least one function or operation, which can be implemented by hardware, software or a combination of hardware and software.
[0041] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0042] Figure 1 A multi-input charging method according to an embodiment is shown. In the multi-input method, the term "multi" does not mean charging multiple devices at the same time, but means that 400V fast charging is possible and 800V fast charging is possible. That is, a first charging station EVSE1 including a 400V charger and a second charging station EVSE2 including an 800V charger can be used.
[0043] exist Figure 1 In the case of a vehicle 10 including an 800V high voltage battery BTT, charging can be performed using an existing method at the second charging station EVSE2. However, in the case of the first charging station EVSE1, the charger output voltage is only 400V at maximum, so a boosting process is required to supply power. Therefore, in the multi-input charging method, the output voltage of the first charging station EVSE1 must be boosted and used by the drive motor MT and the inverter INV.
[0044] That is, the multi-input charging method enables fast charging of the vehicle 10 by using both the first charging station EVSE1 and the second charging station EVSE2 .
[0045] Figure 2 is a block diagram illustrating a multi-input charging system including a multi-input charging device according to an embodiment. Figure 3 is a diagram showing a method according to an embodiment of the present invention. Figure 2 Block diagram of a multi-input charging device.
[0046] exist Figure 2 and Figure 3In the embodiment, a disconnector actuation system (DAS) may be provided between the drive motor 200 and the drive shaft (or drive line) between the two wheels. The DAS may disconnect or connect the drive motor 200 and the drive shaft based on the driving situation. That is, when the DAS is engaged, the drive motor 200 is connected to the drive shaft, and when the DAS is disengaged, the drive motor 200 is disconnected from the drive shaft.
[0047] The drive motor 200 can be separated or connected to the drive shaft on which the wheels are mounted through the DAS. The drive motor 200 can be electrically connected to the fast electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) through the inverter neutral terminal relay. The drive motor 200 stores and transmits electrical energy during inverter switching using a stator inductance component.
[0048] The fast EVSE corresponds to a fast charging station. The fast EVSE can communicate with the vehicle internal controller to transmit and receive vehicle information related to the EVSE.
[0049] A neutral-end relay (ie, an inverter neutral-end relay) may be electrically connected to the inverter INV. The neutral-end relay may be connected to the inverter INV to boost DC power received by the fast EVSE connected to the external power source.
[0050] The inverter INV can boost the DC power of the external power source through pulse width modulation (PWM) control of the internal semiconductor switch (IGBT) and transfer the electric energy to the high-voltage battery BTT.
[0051] The parking gear may be provided in the speed reducer assembly, rotated together with the drive shaft, and prevents transmission of the driving torque generated by the driving motor 200 when a parking sprag is engaged.
[0052] The motor control unit (MCU) can send various information (e.g., current, temperature, and position) to drive the motor, and can perform various controls such as inverter control, inverter and motor fault diagnosis, and collaborative control. The MCU is applied to components within the vehicle to perform control, judgment, diagnosis, etc., thereby performing the functions of driving or charging the electric vehicle.
[0053] The MCU may include a multi-input charging device 100. The MCU may be electrically connected to various sensors including a wheel speed sensor WS, a vehicle control unit (VCU), and a battery management system (BMS). That is, the multi-input charging device 100 may be electrically connected to various sensors, VCU, and BMS. The MCU may receive various information from various sensors, VCU, and BMS. The MCU may perform various controls on vehicle-mounted components including various sensors, VCU, and BMS.
[0054] The VCU is a high-level controller for the vehicle and can manage coordinated control with other controllers.
[0055] BMS can perform status monitoring, fault diagnosis and coordinated control of the high-voltage battery BTT.
[0056] exist Figure 3 In the embodiment, the multi-input charging device 100 may be included in the MCU and may be implemented by the MCU. Figure 3 The multi-input charging device 100 may include a DAS controller 110, a rotor controller 120, a charging controller 130, and a charging efficiency calculator 140. The multi-input charging device 100 may be electrically connected to a drive motor 200, an inverter INV, a VCU, a BMS, a wheel speed sensor WS, and the like.
[0057] When a multi-charge input signal is received, the DAS controller 110 may disengage the DAS.
[0058] When the multi-charge protection mode is set, the DAS controller 110 may confirm the conditions of park engagement and motor speed being 0 KPH (kilometers per hour), and disengage the DAS in response to a multi-charge input signal received from a charging station.
[0059] When the rotor is fixed at a specific rotor position with the highest charging efficiency, the DAS controller 110 may reengage the DAS.
[0060] The rotor controller 120 may change the rotor position (ie, the position of the rotor) through motor speed control until a specific rotor position with the highest charging efficiency is detected.
[0061] The rotor controller 120 may rotate the angle of the rotary transformer 220 of the rotor by a specific angle in each preset cycle. The specific angle may be the angle of the rotary transformer 220 corresponding to the electrical angle of a predetermined level. For example, the rotor controller 120 may rotate the rotor by 3 degrees of electrical angle in each cycle. After the rotation, the rotor controller 120 may detect the changed rotor position by sensing the angle of the rotary transformer 220.
[0062] When the second charging efficiency is higher by comparing the first charging efficiency based on the rotor position before the change with the second charging efficiency based on the rotor position after the change, the rotor controller 120 may continue to change the rotor position. When the first charging efficiency is equal to the second charging efficiency or the first charging efficiency is higher than the second charging efficiency by comparing the first charging efficiency with the second charging efficiency, the rotor controller 120 may fix the rotor position to the rotor position before the change. When the first charging efficiency of the rotor position before the change is higher than the first charging efficiency of the rotor position after the change, the rotor controller 120 may regard the first charging efficiency at the rotor position before the change as the highest charging efficiency.
[0063] The specific rotor position with the highest charging efficiency may be the rotor position when the rotor and stator of the drive motor are aligned.
[0064] When the rotor position is fixed at a specific rotor position having the highest charging efficiency, the charging controller 130 may start the multi-charging.
[0065] The charging efficiency calculator 140 may calculate the charging efficiency of the battery based on the rotor position of the driving motor.
[0066] The charging efficiency calculator 140 can compare the input voltage and input current input to the battery from the charging station (ie, EVSE) with the output voltage and output current of the battery to calculate the charging efficiency of the battery. That is, the charging efficiency calculator 140 can calculate the battery output power / battery input power to calculate the charging efficiency.
[0067] When the rotor position changes at every preset period, the charging efficiency calculator 140 may calculate a first charging efficiency of the battery at the rotor position before the change, and a second charging efficiency of the battery at the rotor position after the change.
[0068] Figure 4A and Figure 4B A rotor and a stator of a drive motor according to an embodiment are shown. Figure 5 is a graph showing charging efficiency based on a resolver angle according to an embodiment.
[0069] In an embodiment, even when the parking gear is engaged, the rotor position of the drive motor can be changed according to the release of the DAS engagement. That is, when the DAS is released, since the drive motor and the drive shaft are not connected even when the parking gear is engaged, the rotor can rotate.
[0070] When the vehicle is stopped, the rotor stops in any position. For example, when the vehicle is stopped, the rotor can be in Figure 4A and Figure 4B in a location.
[0071] Figure 4A The rotor RT and stator ST are shown aligned. Figure 4B A situation where the rotor RT and stator ST are misaligned is shown. Figure 4A and Figure 4B One of them may be the rotor position before the change, and the other may be the rotor position after the change.
[0072] For example, Figure 4A can be the previous rotor position that is changed, and Figure 4B can be the rotor position after the change. Figure 4A Before the change of the rotor position, the stator and rotor are aligned, and in Figure 4B The rotor position after the change, the stator and the stator are not aligned. Therefore, according to an embodiment, before starting the multi-charging, the rotor can be fixed to the rotor position before the change.
[0073] exist Figure 5 , the rotary transformer angle can be changed within a mechanical angle range of 0 to 360 degrees. Within a mechanical angle range of 0 to 360 degrees, the electrical angle may have 1 cycle. The rotor can be aligned with the stator at each electrical angle of 1 / 3 cycle. That is, at each electrical angle of 1 / 3 cycle, the rotor can be fixed to the rotor position before the change with the highest charging efficiency. In Figure 4, at each electrical angle of 1 / 3 cycle, the rotor RT can be aligned with the stator ST in one of the sections A (A and -A), B (B and -B), and C (C and -C).
[0074] For example, the rotary transformer angle at the second point P2 is about 60 degrees, and the rotary transformer angle at the fourth point P4 is about 180 degrees. Then, the electrical angle of 1 / 3 cycle can correspond to the mechanical angle of 120 degree interval. Therefore, at the second point P2, the rotor RT can be aligned with the stator ST in the section A, and at the fourth point P4, the rotor RT can be aligned with the stator ST in the section C.
[0075] For example, when the rotor position changes from the rotor position before the change of the rotary transformer angle having the first point P1 to the rotary transformer angle having the second point P2, the charging efficiency at the rotor position after the change is higher than the charging efficiency at the rotor position before the change. Therefore, the rotor position can continue to change from the second point P2 to the third point P3.
[0076] The charging efficiency at the rotor position after the change of the resolver angle having the third point P3 is lower than the charging efficiency at the rotor position before the change of the resolver angle having the second point P2. Therefore, the rotor position can be fixed to the rotor position before the change to have the resolver angle of the second point P2.
[0077] When the resolver angle at the fourth point P4 is the rotor position before the change, the charging efficiency at the resolver angle at the subsequent point is the same as the charging efficiency at the fourth point P4. Therefore, the rotor can be fixed to the fourth point P4.
[0078] When the resolver angle at the point immediately before the fourth point P4 is the rotor position before the change, the charging efficiency at the resolver angle at the fourth point P4 is equal to the charging efficiency at the resolver angle at the point immediately before the fourth point P4. Therefore, the rotor can be fixed to the point immediately before the fourth point P4.
[0079] At the rotary transformer angle of the fifth point P5, the charging efficiency is the highest. At the rotary transformer angle of the fifth point P5, the rotor RT and the stator ST can be aligned. For example, the rotary transformer angle of the fifth point P5 can be the rotor position where the rotor is aligned with the stator in the section B according to the electrical angle of 1 / 3 cycle.
[0080] Figure 6 is a flow chart of a multi-input charging method according to an embodiment. Figure 6 The multi-input charging method can be Figure 3 This is performed by a multi-input charging device.
[0081] exist Figure 6 In step S100, when receiving a multi-charge input signal, the multi-input charging device 100 (reference Figure 3 ) can disengage the DAS.
[0082] When the multi-charge protection mode is set, the multi-input charging device 100 may confirm the conditions of the park gear engagement and the motor speed being 0 KPH and disengage the DAS in response to the multi-charge input signal received from the charging station.
[0083] In step S200, the multi-input charging device 100 may confirm the initial rotor position of the drive motor and calculate the charging efficiency of the battery at the initial rotor position through the initial charging current. The multi-input charging device 100 may confirm the initial rotor position based on the angle detected by the rotary transformer of the stopped drive motor.
[0084] In step S300 , the multi-input charging device 100 may change the rotor position through motor speed control, and may calculate the charging efficiency of the battery at the changed rotor position.
[0085] The multi-input charging device 100 can rotate the rotary transformer angle of the rotor by a specific angle in each preset cycle. Here, the specific angle can be calculated as an electrical angle. That is, the specific angle can be calculated as an electrical angle corresponding to the specific rotary transformer angle.
[0086] The multi-input charging device 100 may compare the input voltage and input current input from the charging station to the battery with the output voltage and output current of the battery, thereby calculating the charging efficiency of the battery.
[0087] In step S400 , the multi-input charging device 100 may change the rotor position until a specific rotor position having the highest charging efficiency is detected.
[0088] When the second charging efficiency is higher by comparing the first charging efficiency of the rotor position before the change and the second charging efficiency of the rotor position after the change in each cycle, the multi-input charging device 100 may continue to change the rotor position.
[0089] The multi-input charging device 100 may stop changing the rotor position when the first charging efficiency is equal to or higher than the second charging efficiency by comparing the first charging efficiency of the rotor position before the change with the second charging efficiency of the rotor position after the change in each cycle.
[0090] In step S500 , when a specific rotor position is detected, the multi-input charging device 100 may fix the rotor position to the specific rotor position.
[0091] The multi-input charging device 100 may determine the rotor position before the change having the first charging efficiency equal to or higher than the second charging efficiency as a specific rotor position having the highest charging efficiency, and fix the rotor position to the specific rotor position. Here, the specific rotor position may be a rotor position where the rotor and the stator of the drive motor are in an aligned state or in an effectively aligned state.
[0092] At step S600 , the multi-input charging device 100 may reengage the DAS and start multi-charging.
[0093] Figure 7 is a flow chart of a multi-input charging method according to an embodiment. Figure 7 The multi-input charging method can be performed by a multi-input charging device. Figure 3 Give a description.
[0094] In step S710, Figure 7 In the embodiment, the multi-input charging device 100 can confirm the stopped state of the vehicle through the wheel speed sensor WS.
[0095] In step S720, the multi-input charging device 100 may confirm the P range of the transmission gear through the VCU. In other words, the multi-input charging device 100 may confirm whether the parking gear is engaged through the VCU.
[0096] In step S730 , the multi-input charging device 100 may establish a connection to the EVSE to start EVSE multi-charging.
[0097] In step S740, the multi-input charging device 100 may receive a multi-charging input signal. The multi-input charging device 100 may receive the multi-charging input signal through the VCU.
[0098] At step S750 , the multi-input charging device 100 may disengage the DAS.
[0099] In step S760, the multi-input charging device 100 may confirm the rotor position in the current state. The multi-input charging device 100 may confirm the rotor position by sensing the rotary transformer angle.
[0100] In step S770 , the multi-input charging device 100 may calculate the charging efficiency at the current rotor position through the initial charging current.
[0101] In step S780 , the multi-input charging device 100 may compare the first charging efficiency Effi_Old before the rotor position is changed with the second charging efficiency Effi_act after the rotor position is changed, thereby confirming whether the first charging efficiency Effi_Old is greater than or equal to the second charging efficiency Effi_act.
[0102] That is, the multi-input charging device 100 can compare the first charging efficiency Effi_Old at the initial rotor position with the second charging efficiency Effi_act after the rotor position is changed, so as to confirm whether the first charging efficiency Effi_Old is greater than or equal to the second charging efficiency Effi_act. In step S790, when the first charging efficiency Effi_Old at the initial rotor position is greater than or equal to the second charging efficiency Effi_act, the multi-input charging device 100 can engage the DAS again.
[0103] Thereafter, in step S800 , the multi-input charging device 100 may start multi-charging.
[0104] In step S782 , when the first charging efficiency Effi_Old is less than the second charging efficiency Effi_act after the rotor position is changed at the initial rotor position, the multi-input charging device 100 may change the rotor position of the driving motor through the motor speed control mode.
[0105] In step S784, the multi-input charging device 100 may rotate the rotor through motor speed control. The multi-input charging device 100 may move the rotary transformer angle of the rotor by a specific angle per preset cycle.
[0106] For example, the multi-input charging device 100 may rotate the rotor by 3 degrees in electrical angle per cycle. The rotor position before the change may be the rotor position before the electrical angle rotates by 3 degrees, and the rotor position after the change may be the rotor position after the electrical angle rotates by 3 degrees. The preset period may be 10 ms to 100 ms.
[0107] Next, in step S760 , the multi-input charging device 100 may sense the rotor position after the change through the rotary transformer angle.
[0108] In addition, in step S770 , the multi-input charging device 100 may apply a preset current at the rotor position after the change, thereby detecting the charging efficiency.
[0109] That is, the multi-input charging device 100 can rotate the rotor by a specific electrical angle in each cycle and apply a preset current (eg, 10 A) to detect the charging efficiency.
[0110] In steps S782 and S784 , when the second charging efficiency Effi_Old of the rotor position before the change is compared with the second charging efficiency Effi_act of the rotor position after the change, the multi-input charging device 100 may continue to change the rotor position through the motor speed control mode.
[0111] When the first charging efficiency Effi_Old of the rotor position before the change is equal to the second charging efficiency Effi_act of the rotor position after the change or the first charging efficiency Effi_Old is higher than the second charging efficiency Effi_act, the multi-input charging device 100 may stop changing the rotor position and fix the rotor to the rotor position before the change.
[0112] At step S790 , when the rotor is fixed, the multi-input charging device 100 may engage the DAS again.
[0113] In step S800 , the multi-input charging device 100 may start multi-charging (or multi-input charging) in a DAS-engaged state.
[0114] Figure 8 is a diagram for explaining a computing device according to an embodiment.
[0115] refer to Figure 8 , the multi-input charging device and method according to the embodiment may be implemented by using the computing device 900 .
