[0006] Patent Document 1: Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2003-81034 Summary of the Invention

[0007] Problems to be Solved by the Invention

[0008] However, a vehicle grill such as the vehicle front grill disclosed in Patent Document 1 is an exterior component that can be recognized from the outside of the vehicle. Such a vehicle grill is sometimes also used as a support for other exterior components. For example, a vehicle grill disposed between two headlights is sometimes used as a support for an upper garnish located above the two headlights. However, due to deformation of the vehicle grill itself or deformation of vehicle components that support the vehicle grill, the assembled upper garnish may sometimes be slightly displaced downward from its original mounting position. In this case, the upper garnish may interfere with the headlights. That is, when the vehicle grill supports a second exterior component located above a first exterior component, the second exterior component sometimes interferes with the first exterior component. Thus, when interference occurs between the first exterior component and the second exterior component, it is necessary to redesign the overall shape of the vehicle grill and, if necessary, take large-scale countermeasures such as remaking a mold.

[0009] The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and an object thereof is to easily adjust the position of a second exterior component in the height direction in a vehicle grill that supports a second exterior component located above a first exterior component.

[0010] Means for Solving the Problems

[0011] The present invention employs the following structure as a means for solving the above problems.

[0012] A first aspect of the present invention is a vehicle grille that supports a second exterior member located above a first exterior member. The vehicle grille includes: a lower part fixed to an external member; an upper part to which the second exterior member is fixed, and at least a part of which is located above the lower part and is fastened to the lower part; and a height regulating section that sets the position of the upper part relative to the lower part in the vertical direction.

[0013] According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the first aspect, the height regulating section includes a height regulating convex portion provided on one of the lower part and the upper part and abutting against the other of the lower part and the upper part in the vertical direction.

[0014] According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the second aspect, the height regulating convex portion is provided to extend linearly in the front-rear direction of the vehicle.

[0015] According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, in the first aspect, the height regulating section includes: a plurality of first through holes formed in either the lower part or the upper part; a plurality of second through holes respectively corresponding to the plurality of first through holes and formed in the other of the lower part and the upper part; and a pin member inserted and fastened in one of the plurality of first through holes and one of the plurality of second through holes. The distance in the vertical direction between two adjacent first through holes among the plurality of first through holes is different from the distance in the vertical direction between two adjacent second through holes corresponding to the two first through holes among the plurality of second through holes.

[0016] According to a fifth aspect of the present invention, in the fourth aspect, two adjacent first through holes among the plurality of first through holes are arranged to be spaced apart by a constant distance in the vertical direction, and the positions of the plurality of second through holes in the vertical direction are constant.

[0017] According to a sixth aspect of the present invention, in any one of the first to fifth aspects, a plurality of the height regulating sections are arranged and provided in the width direction of the vehicle.

[0018] According to a seventh aspect of the present invention, the vehicle grille according to any one of the first to sixth aspects includes: a temporary holding claw portion provided on one of the lower part and the upper part; and a fastened portion provided on the other of the lower part and the upper part and capable of fastening the temporary holding claw portion.

[0019] According to an eighth aspect of the present invention, the vehicle grille according to any one of the first to seventh aspects includes a plurality of decorative components that can be recognized from the outside, and the plurality of decorative components are mounted on the lower portion.

[0020] A ninth aspect of the present invention is a design method for a vehicle grille that supports a second exterior component located above a first exterior component, wherein the vehicle grille includes: a lower portion fixed to an external component; an upper portion to which the second exterior component is fixed, and at least a part of the upper portion is located above the lower portion and is fastened to the lower portion; and a height setting portion that sets a position of the upper portion relative to the lower portion in the vertical direction. The design method of the vehicle grille includes: a shape temporarily determining process of temporarily determining shapes of the lower portion and the upper portion; a positional relationship confirming process of using the lower portion and the upper portion whose shapes are temporarily determined in the shape temporarily determining process to confirm a positional relationship between the first exterior component and the second exterior component; a height adjusting process of adjusting a position of the upper portion relative to the lower portion in the vertical direction through the height setting portion based on a confirmation result of the positional relationship confirming process; and a determining process of determining a position of the upper portion relative to the lower portion in the vertical direction based on an adjustment result of the height adjusting process.

[0021] According to a tenth aspect of the present invention, in the ninth aspect, the height setting portion includes a height setting convex portion provided on one of the lower portion and the upper portion and abutted against the other of the lower portion and the upper portion in the vertical direction. In the height adjusting process, an amount of protrusion of the height setting convex portion in the vertical direction is adjusted, and in the determining process, shapes of the lower portion and the upper portion are determined in a manner including the height setting convex portion whose amount of protrusion is adjusted in the height adjusting process.

[0022] According to an eleventh aspect of the present invention, in the ninth aspect, the height setting portion includes: a plurality of first through holes formed in either the lower portion or the upper portion; and a plurality of second through holes respectively corresponding to the plurality of first through holes and formed in the other of the lower portion and the upper portion. A distance in the vertical direction between two adjacent first through holes among the plurality of first through holes is different from a distance in the vertical direction between two adjacent second through holes corresponding to the two first through holes among the plurality of second through holes. In the height adjusting process, one first through hole through which a pin member is inserted is selected from the plurality of first through holes through which the pin member is inserted, and one second through hole through which the pin member is inserted is selected from the plurality of second through holes through which the pin member is inserted. In the determining process, the pin member is inserted and fixed in the selected one first through hole and the selected one second through hole.

[0023] Effect of the Invention

[0024] According to the present invention, the vehicle grille is divided into an upper part and a lower part. Further, through the height setting part, the position of the upper part relative to the lower part in the height direction can be changed. Therefore, for example, when it is necessary to modify the positional relationship between the second exterior component and the first exterior component, by adjusting the position of the upper part relative to the lower part in the height direction by the height setting part, the position of the second exterior component relative to the first exterior component in the height direction can be adjusted without reconfirming the overall shape of the vehicle grille. Therefore, according to the present invention, in the vehicle grille that supports the second exterior component located above the first exterior component, the position of the second exterior component in the height direction can be easily adjusted. [0037] Hereinafter, embodiments of the vehicle grille and the design method of the vehicle grille of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. In addition, in the following description, an example in which the vehicle grille of the present invention is applied to a radiator grille will be described. However, the present invention is not limited to the radiator grille and can be applied to the grille provided on the vehicle.

[0038] Hereinafter, the front-rear direction of the vehicle provided with the vehicle grille of the present invention will sometimes be simply referred to as the "front-rear direction", the width direction of the vehicle will be simply referred to as the "width direction" (or "vehicle width direction"), and the up-down direction of the vehicle will be simply referred to as the "up-down direction" (or "height direction").

[0039] Hereinafter, the first embodiment of the present invention will be described.

[0040] Figure 1 is a front view of a vehicle 100 equipped with the radiator grille (vehicle grille) of the present embodiment. The radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment is a front grille provided at the front of the vehicle 100 and is arranged in front of the radiator disposed inside the engine compartment. The radiator grille 1 is an exterior member mainly formed of resin.

[0041] As Figure 1 shown, the vehicle 100 has two headlights 101 (first exterior members) arranged at intervals in the vehicle width direction (horizontal direction). The headlights 101 are lighting devices that illuminate the front of the vehicle and are exterior members that form the appearance of the vehicle 100 when recognized from the outside of the vehicle 100. In addition, the vehicle 100 includes an upper garnish 102 (second exterior member) located above the headlights 101. The upper garnish 102 is a plate-shaped exterior member having the vehicle width direction as its length direction. One end portion in the length direction of the upper garnish 102 is located above one of the two headlights 101, and the other end portion in the length direction thereof is located above the other of the two headlights 101.

[0042] For example, the headlamp 101 is fixed to the vehicle body frame and is not directly supported by the radiator grille 1. On the other hand, the upper garnish 102 is directly supported by the radiator grille 1 fixed to the bumper or the vehicle body frame. That is, in the present embodiment, the radiator grille 1 supports the upper garnish 102 as the second exterior member, and the upper garnish 102 is located above the headlamp 101 as the first exterior member. The central portion in the vehicle width direction of the upper garnish 102 is connected to the radiator grille 1, and both end portions in the vehicle width direction protrude more outward in the vehicle width direction than the radiator grille 1.

[0043] Figure 2 is a front view showing a schematic structure of the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment. In addition, Figure 3 is a rear view showing a schematic structure of the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment. In addition, Figure 4 is a cross-sectional view taken along the Figure 3 line IV-IV.

[0044] As Figures 2 to 4 shown, the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment includes a grille main body portion 2, a first decorative member 3, and a second decorative member 4. The grille main body portion 2 is fixed to, for example, the bumper or the vehicle body frame of the vehicle 100, and supports the first decorative member 3 and the second decorative member 4. In addition, the grille main body portion 2 supports the above-described upper garnish 102 from below.

[0045] For example, as Figures 2 to 4 shown, the grille main body portion 2 includes an upper portion 5, a lower portion 6, and a screw 7. Figure 5 is a schematic exploded view of the upper portion 5 and the lower portion 6 as viewed from the rear. As Figure 5 shown, the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment is divided into an upper portion 5 and a lower portion 6. In Figure 5 the upper portion 5 and the lower portion 6 are spaced apart from each other in the vertical direction.

[0046] The upper portion 5 is a resin member that forms the upper part of the grille main body portion 2. At least a part of the upper portion 5 is located above the lower portion 6. As Figure 4 and Figure 5 shown, the upper portion 5 has a front portion 5a and an upper wall portion 5b. The front portion 5a is a portion fixed to the lower portion 6. The front portion 5a of the present embodiment includes a first portion extending in the vertical direction at a position above the lower portion 6, a second portion extending rearward from the lower end of the first portion, and a third portion extending downward from the rear end of the second portion, and is formed in a crank shape when viewed in the width direction. In addition, the front portion 5a is not limited to such a shape, and may be any shape as long as it has a surface facing downward and located above the lower portion 6 (the lower surface of the second portion in the present embodiment). Figure 6is a cross-sectional view taken along line VI-VI in a state where the upper part 5 and the lower part 6 are fixed. Figure 5 of FIG.

[0047] As Figure 6 shown, the front part 5a of the upper part 5 has a wall surface 5a1 that is located above the lower part 6 and faces downward. That is, the wall surface 5a1 corresponds to the lower surface of the second part. A height setting convex part 5c that protrudes downward is provided on the wall surface 5a1. That is, in the present embodiment, the upper part 5 has a height setting convex part 5c that protrudes downward. The height setting convex part 5c corresponds to a height setting part 10 for setting the position of the upper part 5 relative to the lower part 6 in the vertical direction. In other words, the height setting part 10 of the present embodiment has a height setting convex part 5c.

[0048] The height setting convex part 5c is a protrusion that abuts against the lower part 6 from above. That is, the lower end of the height setting convex part 5c abuts against the lower part 6 from above. The height setting convex part 5c sets the positional relationship between the upper part 5 and the lower part 6 in the vertical direction. For example, when the protrusion amount of the height setting convex part 5c from the wall surface 5a1 is large, the upper part 5 and the lower part 6 are farther apart in the vertical direction than when the protrusion amount is small.

[0049] That is, if the position of the lower part 6 is fixed, the larger the protrusion amount of the height setting convex part 5c, the higher the position of the upper part 5. In addition, if the position of the lower part 6 is fixed, the smaller the protrusion amount of the height setting convex part 5c, the lower the position of the upper part 5.

[0050] In addition, in the present embodiment, as Figure 5 shown, a plurality of height setting convex parts 5c (that is, height setting parts 10) are arranged in the width direction of the vehicle 100 (the vehicle width direction in a state where the radiator grille 1 is installed on the vehicle 100). It is also possible to pair two convex parts that are arranged close to each other among the height setting convex parts 5c and arrange multiple pairs of convex parts along the vehicle width direction. By arranging a plurality of height setting convex parts 5c in this way, the upper part 5 and the lower part 6 abut against each other at a plurality of positions via the height setting convex parts 5c, and it is possible to suppress the inclination of the upper part 5 relative to the lower part 6 when viewed from the front of the vehicle.

[0051] In addition, as Figure 6 shown, each height setting convex part 5c extends linearly along the front-rear direction of the vehicle 100 (the vehicle front-rear direction in a state where the radiator grille 1 is installed on the vehicle 100). Therefore, each height setting convex part 5c can contact the lower part 6 in a wide range in the vehicle front-rear direction. Therefore, it is possible to suppress the inclination of the upper part 5 relative to the lower part 6 when viewed from a direction along the vehicle width direction.

[0052] Return to Figure 4, the upper wall portion 5b protrudes rearward from the upper end of the front portion 5a and is a plate-shaped portion to which the upper decorative member 102 is fixed. That is, the upper wall portion 5b extends rearward from the upper end in the first part of the front portion 5a. The upper wall portion 5b supports the upper decorative member 102 from below. Thus, since the upper decorative member 102 is fixed to the upper wall portion 5b of the upper portion 5, when the upper portion 5 is moved upward, the upper decorative member 102 is similarly moved upward. That is, the larger the protruding amount of the height setting convex portion 5c, the higher the position of the upper portion 5, and thus the upper decorative member 102 is also in a higher position. In addition, the smaller the protruding amount of the height setting convex portion 5c, the lower the position of the upper portion 5, and thus the upper decorative member 102 is also in a lower position.

[0053] As described above, the headlamp 101 is not directly connected to the radiator grille 1. Therefore, the larger the protruding amount of the height setting convex portion 5c, the more the upper decorative member 102 supported by the radiator grille 1 moves upward away from the headlamp 101. In addition, the smaller the protruding amount of the height setting convex portion 5c, the more the upper decorative member 102 supported by the radiator grille 1 moves downward closer to the headlamp 101.

[0054] As Figure 5 shown, a temporary holding opening 5a2 (a portion to be clamped) is provided in the front portion 5a of the upper portion 5. In the present embodiment, two temporary holding openings 5a2 are provided in the upper portion 5. Each temporary holding opening 5a2 is formed to penetrate in the vehicle front-rear direction and is inserted into a protruding portion 6b1 of a later-described temporary holding claw portion 6b of the lower portion 6. In addition, the number of the temporary holding openings 5a2 and the temporary holding claw portions 6b is not limited to two, and three or more may be provided.

[0055] In addition, a plurality of screw insertion holes 5d are provided in the front portion 5a of the upper portion 5. These screw insertion holes 5d are holes through which screws 7 for fastening the upper portion 5 and the lower portion 6 are inserted.

[0056] As Figure 4 shown, the lower portion 6 is a resin member forming the lower part of the grille main body portion 2. The lower portion 6 is fixed to an external member 103 such as a bumper or a vehicle body frame (a member provided in the vehicle 100 and different from the radiator grille 1). For example, as Figure 5 shown, the lower portion 6 has a base portion 6a, a temporary holding claw portion 6b, a support wall 6c, and a protruding wall 6d.

[0057] The base portion 6a is the main structural portion of the radiator grille 1, which has a plurality of opening portions 6a1 penetrating in the front-rear direction. In the present embodiment, each of the opening portions 6a1 is formed in a rectangular shape with the vehicle width direction as the length direction. The plurality of opening portions 6a1 are arranged in the up-down direction. Such a base portion 6a includes a plurality of cross beam portions 6a2 provided between the opening portions 6a1. In addition, the shape of each opening portion 6a1 is not particularly limited. Further, for example, in an electric vehicle or the like that does not have an internal combustion engine, a structure in which the opening portions 6a1 are not provided may also be adopted.

[0058] A plurality of mounting portions 6a3 for mounting the second decorative member 4 are provided on each of the cross beam portions 6a2. The upper edge portion 6a4 of the base portion 6a is the portion where the upper portion 5 is mounted. On this upper edge portion 6a4, claw openings 6a5 are provided corresponding to the installation positions of the respective temporary holding claw portions 6b. These claw openings 6a5 are provided so as to penetrate the base portion 6a in the front-rear direction of the vehicle 100. By providing such claw openings 6a5, the temporary holding claw portions 6b can be elastically deformed in the front-rear direction of the vehicle 100.

[0059] In addition, a plurality of internal thread portions 6a6 for screwing the screw 7 are provided on the upper edge portion 6a4 of the base portion 6a. Each of the internal thread portions 6a6 is arranged at a position overlapping with the screw insertion hole 5d of the upper portion 5 in a state where the upper portion 5 is mounted on the lower portion 6. By screwing the screw 7 inserted into the screw insertion hole 5d into each of the internal thread portions 6a6, the lower portion 6 and the upper portion 5 are fastened. In addition, a plurality of mounting portions 6a7 for mounting the first decorative member 3 are provided on the upper edge portion 6a4 of the base portion 6a.

[0060] Such a base portion 6a is fixed to an external member 103 such as a bumper or a vehicle body frame via a mounting portion (not shown). That is, in the present embodiment, the lower portion 6 is fixed to an external member 103 such as a bumper or a vehicle body frame.

[0061] The temporary holding claw portions 6b are provided to hang down from the upper edge (i.e., the downward-facing inner surface) of each of the claw openings 6a5 of the base portion 6a. In the present embodiment, since there are two claw openings 6a5, there are also two temporary holding claw portions 6b. Figure 7 is a cross-sectional view taken along line VII-VII in the state where the upper portion 5 and the lower portion 6 are fixed. As Figure 5 shown, each of the temporary holding claw portions 6b is formed to have a thickness dimension capable of being flexurally deformed in the front-rear direction of the vehicle 100. In addition, each of the temporary holding claw portions 6b has a protruding portion 6b1 protruding toward the rear of the vehicle 100. Figure 7

[0062] When each temporary holding claw portion 6b is installing the upper portion 5 on the lower portion 6, the protrusion 6b1 contacts the upper portion 5 moving from top to bottom, thereby elastically deforming toward the front side of the vehicle 100. Afterwards, if the temporary holding opening 5a2 provided on the upper portion 5 reaches the protrusion 6b1, each temporary holding claw portion 6b returns to its original shape. As a result, the protrusion 6b1 of the temporary holding claw portion 6b enters the temporary holding opening 5a2. By making the protrusion 6b1 of such a temporary holding claw portion 6b enter the temporary holding opening 5a2, it is prevented that the upper portion 5 is pulled out upward from the lower portion 6. In addition, the size of the temporary holding opening 5a2 in the up-down direction is larger than the width of the protrusion 6b1 in the up-down direction. Therefore, even in the state where the protrusion 6b1 is inserted into the temporary holding opening 5a2, the upper portion 5 can be slightly moved up and down relative to the lower portion 6. Therefore, the adjustment of the position of the upper portion 5 in the vertical direction using the height setting projection 5c is not hindered by the projection 6b1.

[0063] Figure 8 The upper part 5 and the lower part 6 are fixed. Figure 5 A cross-sectional view of the line VIII-VIII. Figure 7 and Figure 8 As shown, the support wall 6c is connected to the part of the base 6a located below the claw opening 6a5. The support wall 6c protrudes from the base 6a toward the rear of the vehicle 100 and then bends upward. Such a support wall 6c has a vertical wall portion 6c1 parallel to the rear surface of the base 6a. That is, the support wall 6c has a front and rear extension portion 6c2 extending backward from the base 6a and a vertical wall portion 6c1 extending upward from the rear end of the front and rear extension portion 6c2. The vertical wall portion 6c1 is spaced apart from the base 6a to the rear when viewed from the vehicle width direction. The spacing dimension between the rear surface of the base 6a and the front surface of the vertical wall portion 6c1 is a dimension that can be inserted into the lower edge portion (i.e., the third portion) of the front portion 5a of the upper portion 5. Therefore, the lower edge of the upper portion 5 can be inserted between the base 6a and the vertical wall portion 6c1. The upper portion 5 inserted between the base 6a and the upright wall portion 6c1 is arranged so that the base 6a is located in front of the lower edge of the upper portion 5, and the upright wall portion 6c1 is located in the rear of the lower edge. As a result, the movement of the upper portion 5 in the front-rear direction of the vehicle 100 is restricted. That is, in the present embodiment, the upper portion 5 mounted on the lower portion 6 is sandwiched between the base 6a and the upright wall portion 6c1, thereby restricting the movement of the upper portion 5 in the front-rear direction of the vehicle 100.

[0064] The protruding wall 6d is a wall portion that protrudes upward from the lower edge (i.e., the upward-facing inner surface) of the claw opening 6a5. The protruding wall 6d is located in front of the lower edge portion of the upper portion 5, and the upper portion 5 is located between the base portion 6a and the standing wall portion 6c1. By providing such a protruding wall 6d, the forward movement of the upper portion 5 mounted on the lower portion 6 is restricted not only by the base portion 6a but also by the protruding wall 6d. Therefore, the movement of the upper portion 5 mounted on the lower portion 6 in the front-rear direction of the vehicle 100 can be restricted more reliably.

[0065] Each screw 7 is threadedly connected to the internal thread portion 6a6 of the lower portion 6 in a state of being inserted through the screw insertion hole 5d provided in the upper portion 5. Through these screws 7, the upper portion 5 and the lower portion 6 are fastened as described above. As the fastening structure of the upper portion 5 and the lower portion 6, it is not limited to the screw 7 threadedly connected to the internal thread portion 6a6, and a fastening structure using a bolt and a nut, a pin member having elastically deformable locking claws, etc. can also be adopted. In addition, the dimension of the screw insertion hole 5d of the present embodiment in the vertical direction is larger than the outer diameter of the screw 7. Therefore, even when the screw 7 is inserted into the screw insertion hole 5d, the upper portion 5 has a movement margin in the vertical direction with respect to the lower portion 6. Therefore, even after adjusting the position of the upper portion 5 in the vertical direction using the height setting convex portion 5c, the screw 7 can be properly threadedly connected to the internal thread portion 6a6.

[0066] The first decorative member 3 is a resin member that covers the connection portion of the upper portion 5 and the lower portion 6 from the front of the vehicle. As Figure 4 shown, the first decorative member 3 has locking claws 3a that protrude rearward. A plurality of these locking claws 3a are provided. Each locking claw 3a is locked to the lower portion 6 by being inserted into the mounting portion 6a7 provided on the lower portion 6. By locking these locking claws 3a to the lower portion 6, the first decorative member 3 is fixed to the lower portion 6.

[0067] The second decorative member 4 is a resin member disposed in front of the cross beam portion 6a2 of the lower portion 6. As Figure 4 shown, a plurality of second decorative members 4 are provided on each cross beam portion 6a2. Each second decorative member 4 has locking claws 4a that protrude rearward. A plurality of locking claws 4a are provided on each second decorative member 4. Each locking claw 4a is locked to the lower portion 6 by being inserted into the mounting portion 6a3 provided on the lower portion 6. By locking these locking claws 4a to the lower portion 6, the second decorative member 4 is fixed to the lower portion 6.

[0068] When assembling the radiator grille 1 of this embodiment of this structure, first, the upper part 5 is installed on the lower part 6. At this time, the lower edge part of the front part 5a of the upper part 5 is inserted between the base part 6a of the lower part 6 and the vertical wall part 6c1 of the support wall 6c. In this state, the upper part 5 is relatively moved downward with respect to the lower part 6.

[0069] Thereby, the protruding part 6b1 of the temporary holding claw part 6b of the lower part 6 enters the temporary holding opening part 5a2 provided in the front part 5a of the upper part 5. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the upper part 5 from coming off the lower part 6 in the vertical direction and the width direction. In addition, since the front part 5a of the upper part 5 is clamped by the base part 6a of the lower part 6 and the vertical wall part 6c1 of the support wall 6c, the movement of the upper part 5 with respect to the lower part 6 in the front-rear direction is restricted. Therefore, even before fastening with the screw 7, the upper part 5 is in a state of being temporarily held on the lower part 6.

[0070] Furthermore, by making the height setting convex part 5c provided on the upper part 5 abut against the upper end of the base part 6a of the lower part 6, the position of the upper part 5 with respect to the lower part 6 in the height direction is determined. The protruding amount of the height setting convex part 5c is preset so that the upper decorative member 102 does not interfere with the headlight 101. Therefore, by making the height setting convex part 5c abut against the upper end of the base part 6a of the lower part 6, the position of the upper part 5 in the height direction is determined at a position where the upper decorative member 102 does not interfere with the headlight 101.

[0071] After that, the upper part 5 and the lower part 6 are fastened with the screw 7. Further, the first decorative member 3 is installed on the lower part 6. In addition, the second decorative member 4 is installed on the lower part 6. In addition, the installation timing of the first decorative member 3 and the second decorative member 4 can be changed.

[0072] Next, refer to Figure 9 A design method of the radiator grille 1 of this embodiment will be described. That is, the design method of the radiator grille 1 described below is a design method of the radiator grille 1 that supports the second exterior member (upper decorative member 102) located above the first exterior member (headlight 101).

[0073] In the design method of the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment, first, the shapes of the upper part 5 and the lower part 6 are tentatively determined (shape tentative determination process S1). Here, the protruding amount of the height setting convex part 5c provided on the upper part 5 is tentatively determined. For example, the protruding amount of the height setting convex part 5c here is preferably set such that the protruding amount of the height setting convex part 5c is an amount that can be increased later. That is, the shape of the upper part 5 is preferably a shape that leaves room to move upward relative to the lower part 6 later. Further, the protruding amount of the height setting convex part 5c here is preferably set such that the protruding amount of the height setting convex part 5c is an amount that can be decreased later. That is, the shape of the upper part 5 is preferably a shape that leaves room to move downward relative to the lower part 6 later.

[0074] Next, the positional relationship between the headlamp 101 and the upper garnish 102 is confirmed (positional relationship confirmation process S2). Here, using the upper part 5 and the lower part 6 whose shapes have been tentatively determined in the shape tentative determination process S1, the positional relationship between the headlamp 101 and the upper garnish 102 is confirmed. In the positional relationship confirmation process S2, the positional relationship between the headlamp 101 and the upper garnish 102 can be confirmed by simulation. However, it is better to confirm the positional relationship between the headlamp 101 and the upper garnish 102 by actually manufacturing a physical object and assembling it.

[0075] Next, the protruding amount of the height setting convex part 5c is adjusted (height adjustment process S3). Here, based on the confirmation result of the positional relationship confirmation process S2, the protruding amount of the height setting convex part 5c is adjusted. For example, in the positional relationship confirmation process S2, when a confirmation result that the upper garnish 102 and the headlamp 101 interfere with each other is obtained, the protruding amount of the height setting convex part 5c is increased. By increasing the protruding amount of the height setting convex part 5c, the position of the upper part 5 can be raised, and the position of the upper garnish 102 can be raised. Therefore, interference between the upper garnish 102 and the headlamp 101 can be avoided.

[0076] In addition, the upper part 5 is formed by injection molding of resin. Therefore, by adjusting the shape of the mold used in injection molding, the protruding amount of the height setting convex part 5c can be adjusted. For example, when increasing the protruding amount of the height setting convex part 5c, by cutting a part of the mold, the protruding amount of the height setting convex part 5c can be easily increased.

[0077] In addition, when a confirmation result that the upper garnish 102 deviates upward too much from the headlamp 101 is obtained, the protruding amount of the height setting convex part 5c is decreased. By decreasing the protruding amount of the height setting convex part 5c, the position of the upper part 5 can be lowered, and the position of the upper garnish 102 can be lowered. Therefore, the gap between the upper garnish 102 and the headlamp 101 can be reduced.

[0078] Next, the shapes of the lower portion 6 and the upper portion 5 are determined (determination process S4). Here, the shapes of the lower portion 6 and the upper portion 5 are determined in such a manner that the convex portion 5c with a protrusion amount adjusted in the height adjustment process S3 is included. That is, based on the protrusion amount of the convex portion 5c set by the height adjusted in the height adjustment process S3, the shape of the upper portion 5 is determined. Additionally, when there is no room for increasing or decreasing the protrusion amount of the convex portion 5c with a set height, the shape of the lower portion 6 may also be changed, and the height position of the upper portion 5 may be determined.

[0079] In addition, the shapes of the first decorative member 3 and the second decorative member 4 can be determined, for example, separately from the Figure 9 processes shown. Therefore, the shapes of the first decorative member 3 and the second decorative member 4 can be determined after the shapes of the lower portion 6 and the upper portion 5 are determined. Additionally, the shapes of the first decorative member 3 and the second decorative member 4 can also be determined before the shapes of the lower portion 6 and the upper portion 5 are determined. Further, the shapes of the first decorative member 3 and the second decorative member 4 can also be determined in parallel with the shapes of the lower portion 6 and the upper portion 5.

[0080] By manufacturing the radiator grille 1 designed according to the design method of the radiator grille 1 of this embodiment, it is possible to mass-produce the radiator grille 1 that can make the upper decorative member 102 and the headlamp 101 have an appropriate positional relationship.

[0081] The radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment as described above supports the upper decorative member 102 located above the headlamp 101. In addition, the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment includes a lower portion 6 and an upper portion 5. The lower portion 6 is fixed to the external member 103. The upper portion 5 is fixed with the upper decorative member 102, and is located above the lower portion 6 and fastened to the lower portion 6. Additionally, the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment has a convex portion 5c with a set height, which is provided on the upper portion 5 as one of the lower portion 6 and the upper portion 5, and abuts against the lower portion 6 as the other from above.

[0082] According to the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment, the radiator grille 1 is divided into an upper portion 5 and a lower portion 6. Further, by adjusting the height dimension of the convex portion 5c with a set height, the position of the upper portion 5 relative to the lower portion 6 in the height direction can be changed. Therefore, for example, when it is necessary to modify the positional relationship of the upper decorative member 102 relative to the headlamp 101, by only adjusting the height dimension (i.e., the protrusion amount) of the convex portion 5c with a set height, the position of the upper decorative member 102 relative to the headlamp 101 in the height direction can be adjusted without reconfirming the overall shape of the radiator grille 1. Therefore, according to the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment, the position of the upper decorative member 102 in the height direction can be easily adjusted.

[0083] In addition, in the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment, a plurality of height setting convex portions 5c are arranged and provided in the vehicle width direction of the vehicle 100. Therefore, in the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment, the upper portion 5 and the lower portion 6 are in contact with each other at a plurality of positions in the vehicle width direction, and it is possible to suppress the inclination of the upper portion 5 with respect to the lower portion 6 when viewed from the front of the vehicle 100.

[0084] In addition, in the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment, the height setting convex portion 5c is provided to extend linearly in the vehicle longitudinal direction of the vehicle 100. Therefore, the height setting convex portion 5c can come into contact with the lower portion 6 in a relatively wide range in the vehicle longitudinal direction. Therefore, in the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment, it is possible to suppress the inclination of the upper portion 5 with respect to the lower portion 6 when viewed from a direction along the vehicle width direction.

[0085] In addition, the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment includes a temporary holding claw portion 6b provided on the lower portion 6 which is one of the lower portion 6 and the upper portion 5. In addition, the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment includes a temporary holding opening portion 5a2 provided on the upper portion 5 which is the other of the lower portion 6 and the upper portion 5, and the temporary holding claw portion 6b can be fastened thereto.

[0086] When assembling the radiator grille 1 of such a present embodiment, the upper portion 5 can be temporarily held with respect to the lower portion 6 before fastening the lower portion 6 and the upper portion 5. Therefore, it is possible to perform the fastening operation of the lower portion 6 and the upper portion 5 in a state where the positional relationship between the lower portion 6 and the upper portion 5 is stable.

[0087] In addition, the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment includes a plurality of decorative components (the first decorative component 3 and the second decorative component 4) that can be recognized from the outside. These first decorative components 3 and second decorative components 4 are mounted on the lower portion 6. That is, all the decorative components of the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment are mounted on the lower portion 6. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the weight of the decorative components from being applied to the upper portion 5, and it is possible to prevent the position of the upper decorative member 102 from changing due to the installation of the decorative components.

[0088] In addition, the design method of the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment is a design method of the radiator grille 1 that supports the upper decorative member 102 located above the headlight 101. The design method of the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment includes a shape temporarily determining process S1, a positional relationship confirming process S2, a height adjusting process S3, and a determining process S4.

[0089] The shape temporarily determination process S1 is a process of temporarily determining the shapes of the lower part 6 and the upper part 5. The position relationship confirmation process S2 is a process of confirming the position relationship between the headlamp 101 and the upper garnish 102 in accordance with the shapes temporarily determined in the shape temporarily determination process S1. The height adjustment process S3 is a process of adjusting the protruding amount of the height setting convex portion 5c based on the confirmation result of the position relationship confirmation process S2. The determination process S4 is a process of determining the shapes of the lower part 6 and the upper part 5 in such a manner that the height setting convex portion 5c whose protruding amount has been adjusted in the height adjustment process S3 is included.

[0090] According to the design method of the radiator grille 1 of this embodiment, in the position relationship confirmation process S2, when it is necessary to modify the position relationship of the upper garnish 102 with respect to the headlamp 101, by only adjusting the height dimension (i.e., the protruding amount) of the height setting convex portion 5c, it is possible to adjust the position of the upper garnish 102 with respect to the headlamp 101 in the height direction without reconfirming the overall shape of the radiator grille 1. Therefore, according to the design method of the radiator grille 1 of this embodiment, the position relationship between the upper garnish 102 and the headlamp 101 can be appropriately set.

[0091] Next, a second embodiment of the present invention will be described.

[0092] In this embodiment, the same reference numerals are given to the same structures as those in the first embodiment, and their descriptions are omitted or simplified.

[0093] Figure 10 is a front view showing a part of the upper part 5 and a part of the lower part 6 of the radiator grille 1 in this embodiment. Figure 10 shows a state in which the upper part 5 and the lower part 6 are coupled to each other by a pin member 11 described later. Figure 11 is along Figure 10 the XI-XI line of the sectional view. Figure 12 is a front view showing the arrangement of the plurality of first through holes 8 and the plurality of second through holes 9 in this embodiment, (a) shows the arrangement of the plurality of first through holes 8 formed in the upper part 5, and (b) shows the arrangement of the plurality of second through holes 9 formed in the lower part 6. The upper part 5 and the lower part 6 of this embodiment are formed of resin, but are not limited thereto, and may also be formed of metal, wood, or the like.

[0094] As Figure 10 and Figure 11As shown, a plurality of first through holes 8 penetrating in the front-rear direction are formed at the lower end of the front portion 5a of the upper portion 5 (i.e., the third portion). A plurality of second through holes 9 penetrating in the front-rear direction are formed at the upper end of the base portion 6a of the lower portion 6. In addition, although the first through holes 8 and the second through holes 9 in the present embodiment penetrate and extend in the front-rear direction (i.e., the horizontal direction), they may also extend in a direction slightly inclined from the horizontal direction. In other words, it is sufficient to extend in a direction other than the vertical direction.

[0095] The plurality of first through holes 8 in the present embodiment include four first through holes 8a, 8b, 8c, 8d, and the plurality of second through holes 9 include four second through holes 9a, 9b, 9c, 9d. In the present embodiment, the number of the plurality of first through holes 8 and the plurality of second through holes 9 is four respectively, but it is not limited thereto, and it may also be two, three, or five or more. The plurality of first through holes 8 and the plurality of second through holes 9 correspond to each other respectively. That is, the first through hole 8a and the second through hole 9a correspond to each other, the first through hole 8b and the second through hole 9b correspond to each other, the first through hole 8c and the second through hole 9c correspond to each other, and the first through hole 8d and the second through hole 9d correspond to each other. "Correspond" means that the pin member 11 can be inserted into the corresponding first through hole 8 and second through hole 9.

[0096] In the present embodiment, the pin member 11 is inserted and fixed in the first through hole 8c and the second through hole 9c. The pin member 11 has a shaft portion 11a extending in the front-rear direction, a head portion 11b provided at the front end of the shaft portion 11a, and two locking claws 11c provided at the rear end of the shaft portion 11a and whose interval can be elastically changed. The head portion 11b is fixed to the front surface of the base portion 6a, and the two locking claws 11c are fixed to the rear surface of the lower end of the front portion 5a. By the fixing of the pin member 11, the upper portion 5 and the lower portion 6 are connected to each other, and the position of the upper portion 5 relative to the lower portion 6 in the up-down direction is set. In addition, in the present embodiment, the outer diameter of the shaft portion 11a of the pin member 11 is substantially the same as the inner diameter of the first through hole 8 or the second through hole 9, but within a range where there is no problem in the positioning accuracy, the outer diameter of the shaft portion 11a may also be smaller than the inner diameter of the first through hole 8 or the second through hole 9.

[0097] In the present embodiment, the pin member 11 having the locking claws 11c is used, but it is not limited thereto. Instead of the pin member 11, a fastening member composed of a bolt and a nut may be used, or a structure in which either the first through hole 8 or the second through hole 9 is formed as an internal thread hole and an external thread screw is threadedly connected to the internal thread hole may be used.

[0098] As Figure 12As shown in (a), the plurality of first through holes 8 formed in the upper portion 5 are arranged in a direction slightly inclined from the width direction (i.e., the horizontal direction). That is, the first through hole 8a is above the first through hole 8b in the vertical direction, the first through hole 8b is above the first through hole 8c in the vertical direction, and the first through hole 8c is above the first through hole 8d in the vertical direction. In the present embodiment, two adjacent first through holes 8 among the plurality of first through holes 8 are arranged at a constant distance from each other in the vertical direction. That is, the distance h1 in the vertical direction between the first through hole 8a and the first through hole 8b, the distance h2 in the vertical direction between the first through hole 8b and the first through hole 8c, and the distance h3 in the vertical direction between the first through hole 8c and the first through hole 8d are equal to each other. The values of the distances h1, h2, and h3 are, for example, 0.5 mm, but may be other values. The values of the distances h1, h2, and h3 in the present embodiment are equal, but may also be different from each other.

[0099] As Figure 12 shown in (b), the plurality of second through holes 9 formed in the lower portion 6 are arranged in the width direction (i.e., the horizontal direction). That is, the positions of the plurality of second through holes 9a, 9b, 9c, and 9d in the vertical direction are constant. Therefore, the distance in the vertical direction between two adjacent first through holes 8 among the plurality of first through holes 8 is different from the distance in the vertical direction between two adjacent second through holes 9 corresponding to the two first through holes 8 among the plurality of second through holes 9. However, the structure is not limited to this, and the plurality of second through holes 9 may be arranged in a direction slightly inclined from the width direction (i.e., the horizontal direction) in the same manner as the plurality of first through holes 8. Even in this case, it is necessary to make the inclination angle of the arrangement of the second through holes 9 different from the inclination angle of the arrangement of the first through holes 8. That is, it is sufficient that the distance in the vertical direction between two adjacent first through holes 8 among the plurality of first through holes 8 is different from the distance in the vertical direction between two adjacent second through holes 9 corresponding to the two first through holes 8 among the plurality of second through holes 9.

[0100] The positions of the plurality of first through holes 8a, 8b, 8c, and 8d in the width direction and the positions of the plurality of second through holes 9a, 9b, 9c, and 9d in the width direction are the same, respectively.

[0101] In such a structure, if the pin member 11 is inserted through and fixed in one of the plurality of first through holes 8 and one of the plurality of second through holes 9, the position of the upper portion 5 relative to the lower portion 6 in the vertical direction can be set. For example, when the pin member 11 is inserted through the first through hole 8a and the second through hole 9a, the upper portion 5 can be positioned relatively lower with respect to the lower portion 6 compared to the case where the pin member 11 is inserted through the first through hole 8b and the second through hole 9b. That is, by selecting one of the plurality of first through holes 8, selecting one of the plurality of second through holes 9, and inserting the pin member 11 through the selected one of the first through hole 8 and one of the second through holes 9, the position of the upper portion 5 relative to the lower portion 6 in the vertical direction can be adjusted and set.

[0102] In addition, similarly to the first embodiment, in the present embodiment, it may be configured such that the upper portion 5 includes a temporary holding opening 5a2, and the lower portion 6 includes a temporary holding claw 6b and a support wall 6c.

[0103] Next, a design method of the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment will be described. In the description of the design method, the same processes as those in the first embodiment are omitted or simplified.

[0104] First, similarly to the first embodiment, a shape temporarily determining process S1 and a positional relationship confirming process S2 are performed.

[0105] Next, based on the confirmation result of the positional relationship confirming process S2, one of the plurality of first through holes 8 through which the pin member 11 is to be inserted is selected, and one of the plurality of second through holes 9 through which the pin member 11 is to be inserted is selected (height adjustment process S3). That is, one of the first through holes 8 and one of the second through holes 9 are selected so that the upper garnish 102 is disposed at an appropriate upper position relative to the headlamp 101. In the selection of the first through hole 8 and the second through hole 9, the pin member 11 can be temporarily inserted through these through holes, or a rod member having the same outer diameter as the shaft portion 11a of the pin member 11 can be inserted through these through holes, and appropriate through holes can be selected.

[0106] Next, the pin member 11 is inserted through and fixed in the selected one of the first through hole 8 and one of the second through holes 9 (determination process S4). Thereby, the position of the upper portion 5 relative to the lower portion 6 in the vertical direction is set, and the upper garnish 102 supported by the upper portion 5 is disposed at an appropriate upper position relative to the headlamp 101.

[0107] At this time, the design method of the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment is completed. However, in the radiator grille 1 of the present embodiment, the pin member 11 will not be inserted into the non-selected first through holes 8 and second through holes 9, and the non-selected first through holes 8 and second through holes 9 will not be utilized. Since the first decorative member 3 and the second decorative member 4 are provided in front of the first through holes 8 and the second through holes 9, the first through holes 8 and the second through holes 9 cannot be recognized from the outside of the vehicle 100, and the non-selected first through holes 8 and second through holes 9 can be retained in the radiator grille 1 during mass production. On the other hand, through the implementation of the height adjustment process S3 and the determination process S4, it is clear which of the first through holes 8 and second through holes 9 are non-selected. Therefore, in order to remove the non-selected first through holes 8 and second through holes 9, the mold for injection molding can be modified. That is, the convex portion of the mold that protrudes into the cavity and is used to form the non-selected through holes can be shaved off.

[0108] The radiator grille 1 (vehicle grille) of the present embodiment supports the upper decorative member 102 (second exterior member) located above the headlight 101 (first exterior member). The radiator grille 1 includes: a lower portion 6 fixed to the external member 103; an upper portion 5 to which the upper decorative member 102 is fixed, at least a part of which is located above the lower portion 6 and is fastened to the lower portion 6; and a height setting portion 10 that sets the position of the upper portion 5 relative to the lower portion 6 in the vertical direction.

[0109] The height setting portion 10 includes: a plurality of first through holes 8 formed in either the lower portion 6 or the upper portion 5; a plurality of second through holes 9 respectively corresponding to the plurality of first through holes 8 and formed in the other of the lower portion 6 and the upper portion 5; and a pin member 11 inserted and fastened in one of the plurality of first through holes 8 and one of the plurality of second through holes 9. The distance in the vertical direction between two adjacent first through holes 8 among the plurality of first through holes 8 is different from the distance in the vertical direction between two adjacent second through holes 9 corresponding to the two first through holes 8 among the plurality of second through holes 9.

[0110] Alternatively, two adjacent first through holes 8 among the plurality of first through holes 8 are arranged at a constant distance apart in the vertical direction, and the positions of the plurality of second through holes 9 in the vertical direction are constant.

[0111] It can also be arranged such that a plurality of height setting portions 10 are arranged in the width direction of the vehicle 100.

[0112] The radiator grille 1 may include: a temporary holding claw portion 6b provided in one of the lower portion 6 and the upper portion 5; and a temporary holding opening portion 5a2 (the portion to be fastened) provided in the other of the lower portion 6 and the upper portion 5 and capable of fastening the temporary holding claw portion 6b.

[0113] The radiator grille 1 may include a plurality of decorative components 3 and 4 that can be recognized from the outside, and the plurality of decorative components 3 and 4 are installed on the lower portion 6.

[0114] In the design method of the radiator grille 1 (vehicle grille) in the present embodiment that supports the upper decorative member 102 (second exterior member) above the headlamp 101 (first exterior member), the radiator grille 1 includes: a lower portion 6 fixed to the exterior member 103; an upper portion 5 to which the upper decorative member 102 is fixed and at least a part of which is located above the lower portion 6 and fastened to the lower portion 6; and a height setting portion 10 that sets the position of the upper portion 5 relative to the lower portion 6 in the vertical direction. The design method of the radiator grille 1 includes: a shape temporarily determining process S1 for temporarily determining the shapes of the lower portion 6 and the upper portion 5; a positional relationship confirming process S2 for confirming the positional relationship between the headlamp 101 and the upper decorative member 102 using the lower portion 6 and the upper portion 5 whose shapes have been temporarily determined in the shape temporarily determining process S1; a height adjusting process S3 for adjusting the position of the upper portion 5 relative to the lower portion 6 in the vertical direction by the height setting portion 10 based on the confirmation result of the positional relationship confirming process S2; and a determining process S4 for determining the position of the upper portion 5 relative to the lower portion 6 in the vertical direction based on the adjustment result of the height adjusting process S3.

[0115] In the design method of the radiator grille 1 in the present embodiment, the height setting portion 10 includes: a plurality of first through holes 8 formed in either the lower portion 6 or the upper portion 5; and a plurality of second through holes 9 respectively corresponding to the plurality of first through holes 8 and formed in the other of the lower portion 6 and the upper portion 5. The distance in the vertical direction between two adjacent first through holes 8 among the plurality of first through holes 8 is different from the distance in the vertical direction between two adjacent second through holes 9 corresponding to the two first through holes 8 among the plurality of second through holes 9. In the height adjusting process S3, one first through hole 8 is selected from the plurality of first through holes 8 through which the supply and sales member 11 is inserted, and one second through hole 9 is selected from the plurality of second through holes 9 through which the supply and sales member 11 is inserted. In the determining process S4, the pin member 11 is inserted and fixed in the one first through hole 8 and the one second through hole 9 that are selected.

[0116] As described above, although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described with reference to the drawings, the present invention is not limited to the above embodiments. The shapes, combinations, etc. of the respective constituent components shown in the above embodiments are merely examples, and various changes can be made based on design requirements and the like without departing from the gist of the present invention.

[0117] For example, in the above-described embodiment, the structure in which the height-setting convex portion 5c is provided on the upper portion 5 has been described. However, the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, a height-setting convex portion that abuts against the upper portion 5 from below may be provided on the lower portion 6. That is, the vehicle grille only needs to include a height-setting convex portion that is provided on one of the lower portion 6 and the upper portion 5 and abuts against the other from the vertical direction.

[0118] In addition, in the above-described embodiment, the structure in which the temporary holding claw portion 6b is provided on the lower portion 6 and the temporary holding opening portion 5a2 is provided on the upper portion 5 has been described. However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and a structure in which the temporary holding claw portion is provided on the upper portion 5 and the temporary holding opening portion 5a2 is provided on the lower portion 6 may also be employed.

[0119] In addition, in the above-described embodiment, the structure in which the portion to be fastened for fastening the temporary holding claw portion 6b is the temporary holding opening portion 5a2 has been described. However, the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, instead of the temporary holding opening portion 5a2, a structure in which a convex portion or a recess capable of fastening the temporary holding claw portion 6b is provided as the portion to be fastened may be employed.

[0120] In addition, in the above-described embodiment, the structure in which the radiator grille 1 includes decorative components (the first decorative component 3 and the second decorative component 4) has been described. However, the present invention is not limited thereto. The vehicle grille may also employ a structure that does not include decorative components.
