[0078] Height: from about 5 mm to about 10 mm, optionally from about 3 mm to about 15 mm, optionally from about 1 mm to about 20 mm. For example, 4 mm, 6.77 mm, 12 mm. Optionally greater than 20 mm. Optionally shorter than 1 mm.
[0079] Now refer to Figure 6, a schematic diagram showing a comparison between the angles used in prior art blades and the angles used in the blades of the present invention, according to some embodiments of the present invention. The blade 600 in the prior art device includes a sharp edge with an angle of 22 degrees (11 degrees for each of the two sharp sides), and the end is a sharp tip 602. In some embodiments, the sharp tip 602 is the first part where the blade intersects the hair to be shaved, and generally the sharp tip 602 moves along the surface to be shaved so as to shave the hair as close to horizontal as possible relative to the surface. Additionally, when measured from the longitudinal axis of the blade 600, the blade 600 in the prior art device is generally positioned at an angle of about 22 degrees relative to the surface to be shaved. This causes the blade 600 to move at an angle of about 11 degrees relative to the surface to be shaved when measured from the longitudinal axis of the blade 600.
[0080] In some embodiments, the blade 106 of the shaving device 100 is positioned such that when measured from the longitudinal axis of the blade 106, it is positioned at an angle of about 1 degree to about 10 degrees relative to the surface to be shaved. Optionally, the blade 106 of the shaving device 100 is positioned such that when measured from the longitudinal axis of the blade 106, it is positioned at an angle of about 5 degrees relative to the surface to be shaved, as for example Figure 6 shown. In some embodiments, the blade 106 of the shaving device 100 is positioned such that when the shaving device 100 is in use, the end of the blade is not dragged along the surface to be shaved. When measured from the longitudinal axis of the blade 106 and / or when the sharp tip of the blade 106 is not dragged along the surface to be shaved, the potential advantage of positioning the blade at an angle of about 5 degrees relative to the surface to be shaved is that this potentially allows for safe shaving of non-tensioned surfaces (e.g., body skin).
[0081] Now refer to Figures 7A through 7B , which respectively show schematic diagrams of the bottom view of a shaving device and a side cross-sectional view of the shaving device, according to some embodiments of the present invention. In some embodiments, the blade 204 of the shaving device 100 is positioned adjacent to the wheel 206.
