Description

Technical Field

[0001] The invention relates to a notebook computer, in particular to a notebook computer provided with a slidable keyboard. Background Art

[0002] Portable electronic devices such as mobile phones, tablets, and laptops have become indispensable in modern life due to their portability and the ability to handle tasks anytime, anywhere. However, these devices generate heat during operation. Excessive heat can reduce the device's performance, so manufacturers incorporate heat dissipation modules into these devices to dissipate the heat.

[0003] Taking laptop computers as an example, the heat sink module is generally located below the keyboard. This means the keyboard overlaps the heat sink module. This means the keyboard takes up space, forcing the use of smaller modules without improving heat dissipation efficiency. To address this, some manufacturers have redesigned the placement of the laptop keyboard and touchpad to make room for the heat sink module. However, this requires users to spend extra time learning to use different keyboard and touchpad configurations, which can be inconvenient. Therefore, balancing the laptop's heat dissipation efficiency with user convenience is a challenge for developers. Summary of the Invention

[0004] The present invention aims to provide a notebook computer, which can achieve both the heat dissipation efficiency of the notebook computer and the convenience of the user in operating the notebook computer.

[0005] A laptop computer disclosed in one embodiment of the present invention includes a base, a display, a functional component, and at least one linkage component. The base has a bottom surface, a first supporting surface, and at least one second supporting surface. The first supporting surface and the at least one second supporting surface are opposite to the bottom surface, and the distance from the first supporting surface to the bottom surface is smaller than the distance from the at least one second supporting surface to the bottom surface. The display is pivotally connected to the base. The functional component can be slidably disposed on the first supporting surface or the at least one second supporting surface. One end of the at least one linkage component is connected to the display. The other end of the at least one linkage component is connected to the functional component. When the display rotates relative to the base, the functional component can slide from the first supporting surface to the at least one second supporting surface relative to the base through the at least one linkage component.

[0006] According to the above embodiment, the notebook computer is provided with a linkage assembly, so the functional component can slide between the first support surface and the two second support surfaces via the linkage assembly. This eliminates the need for the functional component to occupy the space required for the heat dissipation module located below the two second support surfaces, allowing manufacturers to utilize a larger heat dissipation module to improve the notebook computer's heat dissipation efficiency.

[0007] Furthermore, since the functional components slide to the two second support surfaces when the display is opened, which are the user's usual operating positions, without changing the functional component's placement, the user can quickly start operating the notebook without having to re-adjust to the new keyboard configuration. This achieves a good balance between the notebook's heat dissipation performance and the user's low learning curve.

[0008] The above description of the content of the present invention and the following description of the embodiments are intended to demonstrate and explain the principles of the present invention, and to provide further explanation of the claims of the present invention. [0063] See also Figures 1 to 3 . Figure 1 FIG. 1 is a perspective schematic diagram of a notebook computer according to a first embodiment of the present invention. Figure 2 for Figure 1 A schematic diagram of a laptop computer viewed from above. Figure 3 for Figure 1 A partially enlarged schematic top view of a laptop computer.

[0064] The notebook computer 10 of this embodiment includes a base 11, a display 12, a functional component 13, two linkage components 14, two guide rails 15, and a heat dissipation module 18. The base 11 has a bottom surface 111, a first supporting surface 112, two second supporting surfaces 113, an inclined surface 114, and a groove 115.

[0065] Please also refer to Figure 4 . Figure 4 for Figure 1 A side view schematic diagram of a laptop computer 10. The first supporting surface 112 and the two second supporting surfaces 113 are opposite to the bottom surface 111, and the distance from the first supporting surface 112 to the bottom surface 111 is, for example, smaller than the distance from the two second supporting surfaces 113 to the bottom surface 111. That is, the height of the two second supporting surfaces 113 is greater than the height of the first supporting surface 112, and the height of the two second supporting surfaces 113 is the height of the base 11. The heat dissipation module 18 is disposed on the base 11 and is located below the two second supporting surfaces 113. The heat dissipation module 18 is, for example, composed of a fan (not shown) and heat dissipation fins (not shown). In addition, the display 12 is, for example, a screen and is pivotally connected to the base 11, and the distance from the first supporting surface 112 to the pivot axis of the display 12 and the base 11 is greater than the distance from the two second supporting surfaces 113 to the pivot axis of the display 12 and the base 11. That is, the first supporting surface 112 is farther away from the connection between the display 12 and the base 11 than the two second supporting surfaces 113. Two opposite sides of the inclined surface 114 are respectively connected to the first supporting surface 112 and the two second supporting surfaces 113 .

[0066] The functional component 13 is, for example, a keyboard component and is slidably disposed on the first supporting surface 112 or the two second supporting surfaces 113. When the functional component 13 is located on the first supporting surface 112, the functional component 13 is away from the heat dissipation module 18. When the functional component 13 is located on the two second supporting surfaces 113, the functional component 13 overlaps the heat dissipation module 18. The groove 115 is located between the two second supporting surfaces 113, and the height of the groove 115 is, for example, the same as the height of the first supporting surface 112. The two linkage components 14 are at least partially located in the groove 115. One end of the two linkage components 14 is connected to the display 12. The other end of the two linkage components 14 is connected to the functional component 13.

[0067] Specifically, each linkage assembly 14 includes a rotating shaft 141, two connecting rods 142, and a steering assembly 143. The display 12 is pivotally mounted to the base 11 via the rotating shaft 141. The functional assembly 13 includes a main assembly 131 and a support frame 132. The main assembly 131 is mounted on the support frame 132. The two connecting rods 142 are movably connected, and one of the connecting rods 142 is pivotally mounted on the support frame 132.

[0068] The steering assembly 143 includes a first bevel gear 1431 and a second bevel gear 1432. The first bevel gear 1431 and the second bevel gear 1432 are respectively disposed on the rotating shaft 141 and the other of the two connecting rods 142 and mesh with each other. In this way, the direction of force transmission can be changed by the first bevel gear 1431 and the second bevel gear 1432. The display 12 drives the two connecting rods 142 to rotate relative to the base 11 via the rotating shaft 141, the first bevel gear 1431, and the second bevel gear 1432. In other words, when the display 12 rotates relative to the base 11, it will synchronously drive the functional component 13 to slide between the first bearing surface 112 and the two second bearing surfaces 113 via the rotating shaft 141, the first bevel gear 1431, the second bevel gear 1432, and the two connecting rods 142. The two guide rail members 15 are located in the groove 115. Two opposite sides of the supporting frame 132 are slidably located on the two guide rails 15 , so that the supporting frame 132 can slide under the guidance of the two guide rails 15 .

[0069] In this embodiment, because the notebook computer 10 is provided with a linkage assembly 14, the functional assembly 13 can slide between the first supporting surface 112 and the two second supporting surfaces 113 via the linkage assembly 14. This eliminates the need for the functional assembly 13 to occupy the space provided for the heat dissipation module 18 below the two second supporting surfaces 113, allowing manufacturers to utilize a larger heat dissipation module 18 to improve the heat dissipation efficiency of the notebook computer 10.

[0070] Furthermore, since the functional component 13 slides to the two second supporting surfaces 113, which are the user's usual operating positions, when the display 12 is opened, without changing the functional component 13's location, the user can quickly learn to operate the notebook computer 10 without having to adjust to the new keyboard configuration. This ensures a good balance between the notebook computer 10's heat dissipation performance and the user's low learning curve.

[0071] In this embodiment, the laptop computer 10 may further include a plurality of first auxiliary rods 16 and a plurality of second auxiliary rods 17. The support frame 132 has a plurality of first guide slots 1321. The first auxiliary rods 16 and the second auxiliary rods 17 each have a first end 161, 171 and a second end 162, 172 opposite to each other. The first ends 161 of the first auxiliary rods 16 are slidably disposed in the first guide slots 1321. The first ends 171 of the second auxiliary rods 17 are connected to the support frame 132. The second ends 162 of the first auxiliary rods 16 are movably connected to the second ends 172 of the second auxiliary rods 17. By providing the first auxiliary rods 16 and the second auxiliary rods 17, the functional component 13 can be assisted in sliding along the inclined surface 114 between the first support surface 112 and the two second support surfaces 113.

[0072] In this embodiment, the functional component 13 is, for example, a keyboard component, but is not limited thereto. In other embodiments, the functional component may also be, for example, other electronic components such as a touch panel or a display.

[0073] In this embodiment, the height of the groove 115 is the same as the height of the first supporting surface 112, but the present invention is not limited thereto. In other embodiments, the height of the groove and the height of the first supporting surface may also be different.

[0074] In this embodiment, the display 12 drives the functional component 13 to slide synchronously via the linkage assembly 14 including the connecting rod 142, the first bevel gear 1431, and the second bevel gear 1432, but the present invention is not limited thereto. In other embodiments, the display may also drive the functional component to slide synchronously via other linkage assemblies.

[0075] In this embodiment, the support frame 132 of the functional component 13 uses the first auxiliary rods 16 and the second auxiliary rods 17 to guide the functional component 13 to slide along the inclined surface 114 between the first supporting surface 112 and the two second supporting surfaces 113, but the present invention is not limited to this. In other embodiments, the support frame of the functional component can also use only the second auxiliary rods to guide the functional component to slide along the inclined surface between the first supporting surface and the two second supporting surfaces.

[0076] Please also refer to Figures 5 to 10 . Figure 5 for Figure 1 A schematic top view of a laptop computer with functional components located on a first carrying surface. Figure 6 for Figure 1 A side view schematic diagram of a laptop computer with functional components located on a first loading surface. Figure 7 for Figure 1 A schematic top view of the functional components of a laptop computer located on an inclined surface. Figure 8 for Figure 1A schematic side view of a laptop computer with functional components located on an inclined surface. Figure 9 for Figure 1 A schematic top view of a laptop computer with functional components located on the second carrying surface. Figure 10 for Figure 1 A side view schematic diagram of a laptop computer with functional components located on the second loading surface.

[0077] like Figure 5 and Figure 6 As shown, when the display 12 is covered on the base 11, the functional component 13 is located on the first supporting surface 112 with a relatively low height. Figure 7 and Figure 8 As shown, when a user wishes to use the notebook computer 10, they first rotate the display 12 in direction A, for example, by 40 degrees. The display 12 then drives the two connecting rods 142 to rotate in directions B and C, respectively, via the rotating shaft 141 and the steering assembly 143. The two connecting rods 142 then simultaneously drive the component body 131 of the functional component 13 to slide from the first supporting surface 112 to the inclined surface 114 in direction D.

[0078] like Figure 9 and Figure 10 As shown, the user then continues to rotate the display 12 in direction A, for example, to an angle of 110 degrees. The display 12 then continues to rotate the two connecting rods 142 in directions B and C, respectively, via the rotating shaft 141 and the steering assembly 143. The two connecting rods 142 then synchronously drive the component body 131 of the functional component 13 to slide from the inclined surface 114 along direction E to the two higher second supporting surfaces 113. In this way, the component body 131 of the functional component 13 can slide from the lower first supporting surface 112 via the inclined surface 114 to the higher second supporting surfaces 113, allowing the user to begin operating the notebook computer 10.

[0079] Conversely, when the user has finished using the notebook computer 10 and wishes to store it, the user first rotates the display 12 in the direction opposite to direction A. The display 12 then drives the two connecting rods 142 to rotate in the directions opposite to direction B and direction C, respectively, via the rotating shaft 141 and the steering assembly 143. The two connecting rods 142 then simultaneously drive the component body 131 of the functional component 13 to slide from the two second supporting surfaces 113 in the direction opposite to direction E to the inclined surface 114.

[0080] Next, the user continues to rotate the display 12 in the opposite direction of direction A. At this point, the display 12 continues to drive the two connecting rods 142, via the rotating shaft 141 and the steering assembly 143, to rotate in the opposite directions of direction B and direction C, respectively. The two connecting rods 142 then simultaneously drive the component body 131 of the functional component 13 to slide from the inclined surface 114 in the opposite direction of direction D to the first supporting surface 112. In this way, the display 12 covers the base 11, and the component body 131 of the functional component 13 slides from the two higher second supporting surfaces 113 via the inclined surface 114 to the lower first supporting surface 112, allowing the laptop computer 10 to be stored.

[0081] In the first embodiment, the display 12 drives the two connecting rods 142 to rotate relative to the base 11 through the rotating shaft 141, the first bevel gear 1431 and the second bevel gear 1432, but the present invention is not limited to this. Figure 11 and Figure 12 . Figure 11 FIG2 is a schematic partially enlarged top view of a notebook computer according to a second embodiment of the present invention. Figure 12 for Figure 11 The notebook computer 10A of this embodiment is similar to the notebook computer 10 of the first embodiment, so the following description will focus on the differences between this embodiment and the first embodiment, and the similarities will not be repeated.

[0082] In the laptop computer 10A of this embodiment, the steering assembly 143A of the linkage assembly 14A includes a first helical gear 1433 with missing teeth and a second helical gear 1434 with missing teeth. The first helical gear 1433 and the second helical gear 1434 are respectively mounted on the rotating shaft 141 and one of the two connecting rods 142, and mesh with each other. A helical gear with missing teeth is one that does not have a complete circle of teeth but instead has a gap. The detailed operation is the same as that described in the first embodiment; only the differences from the first embodiment are described below.

[0083] The display 12 drives the two connecting rods 142 to rotate relative to the base 11 via the rotating shaft 141, the first helical gear 1433, and the second helical gear 1434. Specifically, when the display rotates relative to the base 11 in direction A, the rotating shaft 141, the first helical gear 1433, the second helical gear 1434, and the two connecting rods 142 synchronously drive the functional component 13 to slide between the first supporting surface 112 and the two second supporting surfaces 113 in directions D, E, the opposite direction of direction D, and the opposite direction of direction E.

[0084] In this embodiment, since the steering assembly 143A is provided with a first toothless bevel gear 1433 and a second toothless bevel gear 1434, the toothless portion of the first toothless bevel gear 1433 and the toothless portion of the second toothless bevel gear 1434 are not engaged. Therefore, when the display 12 rotates relative to the base 11 to the position where the first toothless bevel gear 1433 and the second toothless bevel gear 1434 are not engaged, the display 12 has driven the functional assembly 13 to slide along directions D and E to the two second bearing surfaces 113, and will not continue to synchronously drive the functional assembly 13 to slide.

[0085] See also Figures 13 to 15 . Figure 13 FIG1 is a partially enlarged top view of a notebook computer according to a third embodiment of the present invention. Figure 14 for Figure 13 Another partially enlarged schematic top view of the laptop computer. Figure 15 for Figure 13 The notebook computer 10B of this embodiment is similar to the notebook computer 10 of the first embodiment, so the following description will focus on the differences between this embodiment and the first embodiment, and the similarities will not be repeated.

[0086] In the notebook computer 10B of this embodiment, the linkage assembly 14B includes multiple connecting rods 142B. One of these connecting rods 142B has a second guide slot 1421, and another of these connecting rods 142B includes a guide post 1422. The guide post 1422 is movably disposed in the second guide slot 1421. The detailed operation is the same as that described in the first embodiment, and only the differences from the first embodiment are described below.

[0087] When the display 12 rotates relative to the base 11 in direction A, the guide post 1422 is driven by the steering assembly 143 to rotate along the second guide slot 1421 in direction F, without causing the remaining connecting rods 142B to rotate. In other words, the guide post 1422 idles in the second guide slot 1421, preventing the linkage assembly 14B from synchronously driving the functional assembly 13 to slide.

[0088] When the guide post 1422 rotates from one end of the second guide slot 1421 to the other end of the second guide slot 1421 , the guide post 1422 abuts against the other end of the second guide slot 1421 , so that the connecting rods 142B can drive the functional component 13 to slide along directions D and E to the two second supporting surfaces 113 .

[0089] See also Figures 16 to 19 . Figure 16 FIG1 is a schematic partial enlarged side view of a notebook computer according to a fourth embodiment of the present invention. Figure 17 for Figure 16 Exploded diagram of a laptop computer. Figure 18 for Figure 16 A side view schematically shows a laptop computer in which the first helical gear and the second helical gear are not engaged.

[0090] Figure 19 for Figure 16 The notebook computer 10C of this embodiment is similar to the notebook computer 10 of the first embodiment, so the following description will focus on the differences between this embodiment and the first embodiment, and the similarities will not be repeated.

[0091] In the laptop computer 10C of this embodiment, the steering assembly 143C includes an assembly 1435. The assembly 1435 is slidably mounted on the rotating shaft 141, and the first bevel gear 1431 is connected to the assembly 1435. The assembly 1435 has a first guide portion 14351, and the first guide portion 14351 is, for example, a guide groove and is inclined. The first guide portion 14351 is inclined from the side away from the first bevel gear 1431 to the side close to the first bevel gear 1431. The laptop computer 10C includes a second guide portion 19. The second guide portion 19 is, for example, a second guide portion. The second guide portion 19 is movably disposed on the first guide portion 14351. The detailed operation method is as described in the first embodiment, and only the differences from the first embodiment are described below.

[0092] When the display 12 rotates relative to the base 11 in direction A, the functional component 13 is driven from the first supporting surface 112 to the two second supporting surfaces 113 in directions D and E through the meshing of the first bevel gear 1431 and the second bevel gear 1432. At this time, the assembly 1435 rotates in direction G, causing the first guide portion 14351 to be guided by the second guide portion 19, causing the assembly 1435 to slide relative to the second guide portion 19. Because the first guide portion 14351 tilts from a side away from the first bevel gear 1431 to a side closer to the first bevel gear 1431, when the assembly 1435 rotates in direction G, it is guided by the first guide portion 14351 and the second guide portion 19, moving in direction H. Consequently, the first bevel gear 1431, which is connected to the assembly 1435, separates from the second bevel gear 1432 due to the movement of the assembly 1435, preventing the linkage assembly 14C from synchronously driving the functional component 13 to slide.

[0093] According to the above embodiment, the notebook computer is provided with a linkage assembly, so the functional component can slide between the first support surface and the two second support surfaces via the linkage assembly. This eliminates the need for the functional component to occupy the space required for the heat dissipation module located below the two second support surfaces, allowing manufacturers to utilize a larger heat dissipation module to improve the notebook computer's heat dissipation efficiency.

[0094] Furthermore, since the functional components slide to the two second support surfaces when the display is opened, which are the user's usual operating positions, without changing the functional component's placement, the user can quickly start operating the notebook without having to re-adjust to the new keyboard configuration. This achieves a good balance between the notebook's heat dissipation performance and the user's low learning curve.

[0095] Although the present invention is disclosed above with respect to the aforementioned embodiments, they are not intended to limit the present invention. Those skilled in the art may make slight changes and modifications without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. Therefore, the scope of patent protection of the present invention shall be determined by the claims attached to this specification.
