Abstract

The invention relates to a brake mechanism of a caster, which is high in degree of freedom of design. A brake mechanism (2) of a caster is provided with: a wheel holder (20) and an operating member (50) attached to a vehicle body frame; a wheel (40); a second biasing member (80) that biases the operation member to the first position; a wheel lock member (60) supported by the wheel holder (20) so as to be displaceable between a locked position and an unlocked position; and a force transmission mechanism configured to bring the wheel lock member (60) to a lock position in response to displacement of the operation member (50). The force transmission mechanism includes: a transmission member (70) that is displaced by receiving a force from the operation member; the transmission member (70) is relatively displaceable with respect to the operation member (50).
