Abstract

A sleeping bag having a planar cover member having a top and bottom and first and second sides such that one of the first and second sides will contact or wrap around a user's body while the other will be exposed to the outside environment. The sleeping bag can be used in two configurations, with the sleeping bag used in a generally planar orientation in a first configuration with the second side covering the user's body and in a second configuration with at least a portion of the bottom inserted into a pocket provided on the first side. By inserting the bottom into the pocket, the edges of the planar cover member are wrapped such that the pocket forms a closed bottom portion for the user's feet while the wrapped side edges cover the user's body when in use.
