[0053] Hereinafter, with reference to the accompanying drawings illustrating the structure of embodiments of the present disclosure, a dishwasher having an automatically extending concealed door handle and its control method will be described.
[0054] In this disclosure, the front-back direction refers to the direction based on the front and back of the dishwasher 1, and the left-right direction refers to the direction based on the lateral side of the dishwasher 1. The user uses the dishwasher 1 while positioned in front of it.
[0055] In this disclosure, the outward direction of the door 30 can be defined as the forward direction of the dishwasher 1.
[0056] [Overall structure of the dishwasher]
[0057] Hereinafter, the overall structure of the dishwasher 1 of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0058] Figure 1 This is a front perspective view of a dishwasher according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Figure 2 yes Figure 1 A schematic cross-sectional view of the dishwasher shown.
[0059] like Figure 1 and Figure 2As shown, the dishwasher 1 according to this disclosure may include a housing 10 constituting the exterior, a tub 20 installed in the interior space of the housing 10 and defining a washing space 21 for washing the objects to be washed, a door 30 for opening / closing the open front surface of the tub 20, a drive device 40 located below the tub 20 for heating, supplying, collecting, circulating and discharging washing water for washing the objects to be washed, a dish rack 50 detachably disposed in the interior washing space 21 of the tub 20 for receiving the objects to be washed, and sprayers 61, 62 and 63 installed near the dish rack 50 for spraying the washing water for washing the objects to be washed.
[0060] In this regard, the items to be washed stored in the cutlery rack 50 may be, for example, bowls, plates, spoons, chopsticks, and other tableware and cooking utensils. Hereinafter, unless otherwise specified, the items to be washed will be referred to as tableware.
[0061] The tub 20 can be formed as a box shape with the front surface 22 entirely open and each of the rear surface 23, upper surface 24, lower surface 25, right surface 27 and left surface in a closed state, and corresponds to the portion of a known so-called washing tub.
[0062] The washing space 21 can be formed inside the tub 20, and the open front surface of the tub 20 can be opened and closed through the door 30.
[0063] Bucket 20 can be formed by pressing a high-temperature resistant and moisture-proof metal sheet, such as a stainless steel sheet.
[0064] In addition, multiple supports can be provided on the inner surface of the bucket 20 for supporting and installing functional components inside the bucket 20, such as the cutlery rack 50 and the water sprayer, which will be described later.
[0065] The drive unit 40 can be configured to include a water collection tank 41 for storing wash water for washing and rinsing the washed objects, a water collection tank cover 42 for separating the water collection tank 41 from the tub 20, a water supply device 43 for supplying wash water from the water collection tank 41 to the water collection tank 41, a drain device 44 for draining the wash water from the water collection tank 41 to the outside of the water collection tank, a wash pump 45 for supplying wash water from the water collection tank 41 to the shower, a heater 47 for heating the wash water, and a supply flow path 46.
[0066] A water collection tank cover 42 can be disposed on top of the water collection tank 41 and can be used to separate the bucket 20 from the water collection tank 41. Furthermore, the water collection tank cover 42 can define multiple collection holes for collecting washing water sprayed into the washing space 21 by the sprayers into the water collection tank 41. Washing water sprayed onto the dishes from the sprayers 61, 62, and 63 can fall to the bottom of the washing space 21 and can be collected again into the water collection tank 41 through the water collection tank cover 42.
[0067] The washing pump 45 can be located on the side or bottom of the water collection tank 41 and can be used to pressurize the washing water and supply the pressurized washing water to the sprayers. One end of the washing pump 45 can be connected to the water collection tank 41, and the other end can be connected to the supply flow path 46. The washing pump 45 can be equipped with an impeller 451 and a motor 453. When power is supplied to the motor 453, the impeller 451 can rotate, and thus pressurize the washing water in the water collection tank 41, which can then be supplied to the sprayers through the supply flow path 46.
[0068] A heater assembly, including a heater 47 for heating, can be disposed on the bottom surface of the housing of the washing pump 45. The heater 47 can also be used to heat the washing water supplied to the washing pump 45. The heater 47 can heat the washing water used for washing and rinsing the objects to a target temperature based on a control signal from the controller. For example, the heater 47 can heat the washing water based on a control signal corresponding to the washing cycle. Additionally, the heater 47 can also heat the washing water based on a control signal corresponding to the rinsing process. Furthermore, the heater 47 can also heat the washing water based on a control signal corresponding to whether moisture-absorbing drying is activated.
[0069] Furthermore, in response to a control signal from the controller, heater 47 can heat the washing water to a varying target temperature during the washing or rinsing cycle. Additionally, in response to a control signal from the controller, heater 47 can heat the washing water supplied during the rinsing process to a target temperature that varies depending on whether the moisture-absorbing dryer is activated. For example, heater 47 can also heat the washing water in the rinsing process to a higher temperature when the moisture-absorbing dryer is activated than when the moisture-absorbing dryer is deactivated.
[0070] In one example, supply path 46 can be used to selectively supply wash water from wash pump 45 to spray nozzles.
[0071] For example, the supply flow path 46 may include a first supply flow path 461 connected to the lower spray arm 61 and a second supply flow path 463 connected to the upper spray arm 62 and the top nozzle 63. The supply flow path 46 may also be provided with a supply flow path switching valve 465 that selectively opens / closes the supply flow paths 461 and 463.
[0072] In this regard, the supply flow path switching valve 465 can be controlled so that supply flow paths 461 and 463 can be opened sequentially or simultaneously.
[0073] In one example, the sprayer can be configured to spray wash water onto the dishes stored in the dish rack 50.
[0074] More specifically, the water sprayer may include a lower spray arm 61 located below the tub 20 to spray washing water onto the lower shelf 51, an upper spray arm 62 located between the lower shelf 51 and the upper shelf 52 to spray washing water onto both the lower shelf 51 and the upper shelf 52, and a top nozzle 63 located at the top of the tub 20 to spray washing water onto the upper shelf 53 or the upper shelf 52.
[0075] Specifically, the lower spray arm 61 and the upper spray arm 62 are rotatably arranged in the washing space 21 of the tub 20, and can spray washing water toward the dishes on the dish rack 50 while rotating.
[0076] The lower spray arm 61 is rotatably supported on top of the water collection tank cover 42 so as to spray washing water toward the lower shelf 51 while rotating and positioned below the lower shelf 51.
[0077] In addition, the upper spray arm 62 can be rotatably supported by the spray arm bracket 467 so as to spray washing water onto the tableware while rotating and positioned between the lower shelf 51 and the upper shelf 52.
[0078] In one example, although not shown, in order to improve washing efficiency, an additional device may be provided at the lower surface 25 of the tub 20 for redirecting the washing water sprayed from the lower spray arm 61 in an upward direction (redirecting in the U direction).
[0079] A dish rack 50 for storing tableware can also be provided in the washing space 21. The dish rack 50 can be configured to extend from or retract into the interior space of the tub 20 through the open front surface of the tub 20.
[0080] For example, in Figure 2 The present invention illustrates one embodiment in which the dish rack 50 includes: a lower rack 51 located at the bottom of the tub 20 for accommodating relatively large dishes; an upper rack 5 located on top of the lower rack 51 for accommodating medium-sized dishes; and a top rack 53 located on top of the tub 20 and capable of storing small dishes, etc. However, the embodiments disclosed herein are not limited thereto. However, in the following description, an example of a dishwasher 1 including the three dish racks 50 shown is described.
[0081] Each of the lower shelf 51, upper shelf 52 and top shelf 53 can be configured to extend from or retract into the interior space of the bucket 20 through the open front surface of the bucket 20.
[0082] For this purpose, guide rails 54 can be respectively disposed on two opposing inner surfaces constituting the inner surface of the barrel 20. As an example, the guide rails may include an upper guide rail 542, a lower guide rail 541, and a top guide rail 543.
[0083] Wheels can be installed at the bottom of each of the lower shelf 51, upper shelf 52, and top shelf 53. Users can extend the lower shelf 51, upper shelf 52, and top shelf 53 through the open front surface of the bucket 20 from the interior space of the bucket 20, and place dishes on them or easily remove washed tableware from the bucket 20.
[0084] The guide rail (not shown) can be implemented as a simple track-type fixed guide rail for guiding the extension or retraction of the cutlery rack 50, or it can be implemented as a telescopic guide rail capable of guiding the extension or retraction of the cutlery rack 50 and simultaneously increasing its extension distance as the cutlery rack 50 extends further from the interior space of the container.
[0085] Although not shown, a detergent supply device for automatically supplying detergent to the interior of the drum 20 may also be provided in the rear panel 30b inside the limiting door 30.
[0086] Furthermore, a door position sensor can be disposed on the outer top surface of the barrel 20 and can be configured to detect whether the door 30 is in a closed or open state. For example, the door position sensor may include a door position sensor, a latch sensor, or a limit sensor that detects the position of a latch (not shown).
[0087] In one example, a moisture-absorbing dryer 80 may be positioned below the drum 20 and configured to absorb water vapor contained in the air discharged from the drum 20 during the drying cycle, and then supply water vapor-free air back to the drum 20.
[0088] The desiccant drying device 80 may include an air intake duct 81 for drawing in air discharged from the barrel 20, a blower 82 for generating an airflow, a heater 83 for heating the air drawn in from the barrel 20, and a desiccant 85 for absorbing water vapor contained in the air.
[0089] An air supply hole 254 can be defined in the lower surface 25 of the barrel 20, through which air that has had its water vapor removed by the desiccant drying device 80 is introduced into the barrel 20.
[0090] The airflow supplied to the bucket 20 and subsequently humidified while drying the tableware can be discharged to the outside, and the discharge of the airflow can be performed by partially opening the door 30 or by a separate exhaust device (not shown).
[0091] Because dry air from the moisture-absorbing drying device 80 is supplied to the inside of the container 20 during the drying process, the drying efficiency and sterilization effect of the tableware can be significantly improved.
[0092] As described above, door 30 is used to open and close the open front surface of barrel 20. A hinge (not shown) may be provided at the bottom of the open front surface, around which door 30 is closed or opened. Therefore, door 30 can pivot about the hinge, which serves as a pivot axis.
[0093] The rear panel 30b, which forms the inner surface of the door 30, can form a surface of the bucket 20 when the door 30 is closed, and can form a support surface for the lower shelf 51 of the cutlery rack 50 when the door 30 is fully open.
[0094] Therefore, when the door 30 is fully opened downwards, the rear panel 30b of the door 30 can form a horizontal plane, the direction of which extends in the same direction as the direction in which the guide rail 54, which guides the displacement of the lower shelf 51, extends.
[0095] Reference Figure 3 and Figure 4 A handle 31 for opening the door 30 and a control panel 32 for controlling the operation of the dishwasher 1 can be provided on the outer surface of the door 30.
[0096] The control panel 32 may include a display 33 and a button unit 34. The display 33 visually displays information such as the current operating status of the dishwasher 1, while the button unit 34 includes a selection button and a power button. The selection button is used to input the user's program selection operation, and the power button is used to input the user's operation to turn the dishwasher on and off.
[0097] According to this disclosure, the handle 31 of the dishwasher 1 can be configured to be at least partially housed inside the door 30 when not in use, and to automatically extend forward from the door 30 in a protruding manner when the door 30 needs to be opened and closed.
[0098] Since the handle is configured to retract to be at least partially housed inside the door 30 or to extend forward from the door 30 to the outside of the door 30, the handle 31 may be referred to by various names, such as pop-out handle, retractable handle, extendable handle, etc. Hereinafter, the handle 31 configured to retract into or extend from the door 30 of the dishwasher 1 according to one embodiment of the present disclosure will be referred to as handle 31.
[0099] [Handle appearance and operation]
[0100] In the following text, reference will be made to Figures 3 to 6 The appearance and operation of a handle 31 provided at the door 30 of a dishwasher 1 according to one embodiment of the present disclosure are described in detail.
[0101] As described above, the door 30 of the dishwasher 1 according to one embodiment of the present disclosure may be provided with a reciprocating handle 31. In this respect, as described above, the door 30 may be configured to pivot about a hinge (not shown) attached to the lower side of the door.
[0102] The handle 31 can be positioned near the top surface of the door 30 (where the user can easily grip the handle), and can be located on the front panel 30a that forms the front surface of the door 30, and can extend from or retract into the door.
[0103] Furthermore, the handle 31 can extend along the leading edge of the top surface of the door 30 and in the left and right directions, allowing the user to easily grip the handle. The handle 31 can be formed in a U-shape with approximately 90 degrees of rotation.
[0104] To allow the handle 31 to extend or retract, an elongated opening 30e with a shape corresponding to the appearance of the handle 31 can be defined in the front panel 30a of the door 30. This elongated opening 30e extends along the leading edge of the top surface of the door 30 and has a depth along the front-rear (FR) direction.
[0105] The handle 31 can be configured to reciprocate through the opening 30e of the front panel 30a in the forward and backward directions under the operation of the handle driver, as described below.
[0106] More specifically, the handle 31 can be configured to reciprocate between a forwardmost position and a rearmost position under the operation of the handle driver. Additionally, the handle 31 can extend forward partially depending on the operation of the handle driver.
[0107] In the following text, for convenience, the foremost position to which the handle 31 is moved in the forward direction is defined as the maximum extended position Pd2 or the second position Pd2. The foremost position to which the handle 31 is moved in the backward direction is defined as the retracted position Pa, the default position Pa, or the return position Pa. In addition, the position to which the handle 31 is partially extended in the forward direction is defined as the partially extended position Pd1 or the first position Pd1.
[0108] Figure 3 The diagram shows the state in which the handle 31 is moved to the final position (i.e., the retracted position Pa) and thus retracts into the interior of the door 30.
[0109] As shown in the figure, when the handle 31 has been moved to the retracted position Pa, the handle 31 has been at least partially retracted into the door 30. In this respect, preferably, the handle 31 can pass through the entire opening 30e of the door 30 and retract into the door 30.
[0110] Furthermore, when the handle 31 is moved to the retracted position Pa, the handle 31 can be in a state where it does not protrude forward from the front panel 30a of the door 30. In addition, when the handle 31 is moved to the retracted position Pa, the front surface of the handle 31 can be coplanar with the front surface of the front panel 30a of the door 30, thereby forming a continuous surface.
[0111] That is, when the handle 31 is moved to the retracted position Pa, a state can be formed in which, while the entire opening 30e of the door 30 is closed, no step is formed between the front surface of the front panel 30a of the door 30 and the front end face of the handle 31. Therefore, when the handle 31 is moved to the retracted position Pa, the opening 30e of the front panel 30a is completely blocked, and at the same time, no step is formed between the front surface of the front panel 30a and the front end face of the handle 31, which fundamentally prevents the accumulation of foreign objects such as dust on the protrusion of the door 30 or on the handle itself.
[0112] Figure 4 and Figure 5 This shows the state in which handle 31 has moved from the retracted position Pa to the maximum extended position Pd2. Figure 6 This indicates the state in which the handle 31 has shifted from the retracted position Pa to the partially extended position Pd1. In this disclosure, the partially extended position of the handle 31 can be referred to as the partially extended position Pd1 or the first position Pd1. Additionally, the position where the handle 31 is fully extended can be referred to as the fully extended position Pd2 or the second position Pd2.
[0113] like Figure 4 and Figure 5 As shown, handle 31 can extend from the retracted position Pa to the maximum extended position Pd1. Furthermore, as... Figure 6 As shown, handle 31 can extend from the retracted position Pa to the partially extended position Pd1.
[0114] First, when the first sensor 210 (e.g.) Figure 10 When a person is detected (as shown), handle 31 can extend to a partially extended position Pd1. The first sensor 210 can be located on the underside of the door 30 to maintain a seamless design of the front panel 30a of the door 30. For example, the first sensor 210 can be implemented as a proximity sensor. Alternatively, the first sensor 210 can be implemented as one of radar (radio detection and ranging), lidar (light detection and ranging), and a thermal sensor.
[0115] For example, in response to the first sensor 210 detecting a person, the handle 31 can extend 5 mm from the door. In one example, the travel Ls of the handle 31 from the retracted position Pa to the partially extended position Pd1 can be in the range of 4 mm to 6 mm, preferably 5 mm. When the movement of the handle 31 to the partially extended position Pd1 is complete, the cover 324 and the light guide 323 of the handle 31 can be exposed. A first LED module 250 having multiple LED elements 3221 can be disposed inside the handle 31, and light emitted from the first LED module 250 can be exposed through the light guide 323. The partially extended position Pd1 or the first position Pd1 can correspond to the distance by which the handle 31 is moved from the inside of the door to the outside of the door, such that the light guide 323 is exposed to the user.
[0116] The displacement stroke Ls of the extended handle 31 is determined by considering the distance the handle 31 extends from the door, so that the light emitted from the first LED module 250 can be exposed to the user through the light guide 323. The displacement stroke Ls of the extended handle 31 is only an example and can be designed to vary depending on the thickness of the light guide 323.
[0117] Furthermore, in response to the first sensor 210 detecting a person, the handle 31 can extend 5mm outward from the inside of the door 30, and simultaneously, the first LED module 250 can be activated to act as a preset welcome light. For example, multiple LED elements 3221 of the first LED module 250 can be illuminated in an animated manner, and can be illuminated sequentially in a clockwise / counterclockwise rotation or a left / right gradient manner (from the center to each of the left and right sides, or from each of the left and right sides to the center in sequence), thereby acting as a preset welcome light.
[0118] Next, when the second sensor 220 (such as Figure 11 (As shown) When a human hand is detected, the handle 31 can extend to its maximum extension position Pd2. The second sensor 220 can be disposed inside the handle 31. The second sensor 220 being disposed inside the handle 31 allows the front panel 30a of the door 30 to maintain a seamless design.
[0119] For example, the second sensor 220 can be implemented as a capacitance-based sensor capable of sensing non-contact touch (air touch) or contact touch. Therefore, the second sensor 220 can sense a user's touch on the front surface of the handle 31. The second sensor 220 may include a touch panel (or touch electrodes), and the touch panel may be mounted on a printed circuit board 322 disposed in the handle. The second sensor 220 can detect air touch or contact touch based on the detection of capacitance changes between the touch panel and the user's hand. However, embodiments of this disclosure are not limited thereto, and any device capable of detecting whether a user's hand is near the handle can be used as the second sensor 220 without limitation.
[0120] When the handle 31 has moved to the maximum extension position Pd2, the handle body 321 of the handle 31 can be in a state where the handle body 321 is entirely exposed to the outside of the door 30 and the user can hold the handle body 321. When the handle 31 moves to the maximum extension position Pd2, the handle body 321 of the handle 31 leaves the opening 30e of the front panel 30a of the door 30 and is exposed to the outside of the door 30.
[0121] For example, the displacement stroke Ls of the handle 31 from the retracted position Pa to the maximum extended position Pd2 can be in the range of 40mm to 50mm, preferably 45mm. The displacement stroke Ls of the handle 31 is only an example and can vary depending on the overall size of the dishwasher 1 and the front and rear dimensions of the door 30.
[0122] [Detailed structure of the handle]
[0123] Figure 7 This is an exploded perspective view of the handle of a dishwasher according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Figure 8 This is an enlarged perspective view of the handle of a dishwasher according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Figure 9 yes Figure 8 A side sectional view of the handle.
[0124] Reference Figure 7 The handle 31 includes a handle body 321, a printed circuit board 322, a light guide 323, and a handle cover 324.
[0125] The handle body 321 extends slenderly in the left-right direction and is disposed in the front panel 30a of the door 30 in a reciprocating manner in the front-back direction. The handle body 321 includes a first handle body 321a and a second handle body 321b respectively connected to opposite sides in the left-right direction of the front panel 30a.
[0126] A handle actuator can be disposed in each of the first handle body 321a and the second handle body 321b. A pair of handle actuators can be arranged to be spaced apart from each other in the left-right direction, and the driving force generated from the handle actuators can be transmitted to the first handle body 321a and the second handle body 321b respectively. However, embodiments of this disclosure are not limited thereto, and the handle 31 may be driven by only a single handle actuator. Detailed structures of the handle actuator are not shown in this disclosure. However, the handle actuator may include a pivot link, a drive cam, and a handle drive motor 351 (e.g., Figure 11 As shown), one end of the pivot link is pivotable relative to the door, and the other end is connected to the handle to pivot relative to the handle. The drive cam presses the pivot link when rotating in the forward direction, causing the pivot link to rotate forward, and the drive cam presses the pivot link when rotating in the reverse direction, causing the pivot link to rotate rearward. The handle drive motor 351 generates a rotational drive force for rotating the drive cam in the forward or reverse direction.
[0127] A printed circuit board 322 may be disposed on the front surface of the handle body 321. An LED module having multiple LED elements 3221 is mounted on the printed circuit board 322. Multiple gaskets 3222 for sensing the proximity of a human hand are mounted on the printed circuit board 322. The multiple gaskets 3222 may be connected to internal touch electrodes (not shown). For example, the touch electrodes may be formed as a single plate-shaped touch panel. In another example, the touch electrodes may be divided into multiple electrodes.
[0128] For example, a corresponding side of the plurality of pads 3222 may contact the handle cover 324, and a corresponding other side of the plurality of pads 3222 may be electrically connected to a single plate-shaped touch electrode. The plurality of pads 3222 may be used to sense whether a touch has been made based on the change in capacitance of the capacitor between the user's hand and the touch electrode when the user approaches the handle cover 324. In this case, the plurality of pads 3222 may be used to detect the position of the hand approaching the handle cover 324.
[0129] In another example, a corresponding side of a plurality of pads 3222 can contact the handle cover 324, while the corresponding other side of the plurality of pads 3222 can be electrically connected to a plurality of corresponding touch electrodes. For example, one pad 3222 can be individually connected to one touch electrode. In this case, the plurality of pads 3222 can be used to detect the position of a hand approaching or touching the handle cover 324. The function of the dishwasher 1 can be controlled according to the position of the hand touching the handle cover 324. For example, when the hand touches the left or right edge of the handle cover 324, a pause function can be performed during the washing, rinsing, or drying cycle of the dishwasher 1. Furthermore, when the hand touches the middle area of the handle cover 324, a function can be performed to extend the handle 31 to the maximum extended position Pd2.
[0130] Multiple LED elements 3221 can be disposed on each of the upper and lower portions of the front surface of the printed circuit board 322 and can be arranged along the periphery of the handle 31. For example, multiple LED elements 3221 can be densely arranged along the periphery of the handle 31 to enable dynamic lighting signal control.
[0131] Multiple LED elements 3221 can be configured to illuminate in an animated manner, sequentially in a clockwise / counterclockwise rotation, or in a left / right gradient manner (lighting up from the center to each of the left and right sides, or from each of the left and right sides to the center), thus acting as preset welcome lights. Additionally, the multiple LED elements 3221 can be configured to emit light such that the color of the light changes according to the washing, rinsing, or drying process. Furthermore, the multiple LED elements 3221 can be configured such that the number of illuminated LED elements 3221 arranged in the left-right direction gradually increases according to the elapsed duration of the washing, rinsing, or drying process. Furthermore, the multiple LED elements 3221 can be configured to emit red light as a notification to prevent hand pinching. Additionally, the multiple LED elements 3221 can be configured to emit light such that when the user temporarily stops the operation of the dishwasher 1 and attempts to open the door 30, the color of the light changes according to the internal temperature of the dishwasher 1.
[0132] Multiple spacers 3222 can be arranged along the vertical centerline and the left-right direction of the front surface of the printed circuit board 322. For example, multiple spacers 3222 can be arranged along the left-right direction and located on the centerline between the upper and lower arrays of multiple LED elements 3221 disposed on the front surface of the printed circuit board 322.
[0133] A light guide 323 may be disposed on the front surface of a printed circuit board 322, and each pad hole 3231 for guiding each of the plurality of pads 3222 into contact with the handle cover 324 may be formed in the light guide 323. The pad holes 3231 may be arranged along a vertical centerline and in a left-right direction. The light guide 323 may be made of a light-guiding material that diffuses light when the plurality of LED elements 3221 emit light. When the handle 31 is extended beyond the door 30, the light guide 323 may be exposed in a forward direction and may diffuse light from the plurality of LED elements 3221 along the periphery of the handle 31.
[0134] The light guide 323 can also be referred to as a light diffuser plate or film for diffused light. The light guide 323 can be made of materials with excellent transparency, good processability, and excellent light diffusion capabilities. For example, the light guide 323 can be made of materials such as polycarbonate (PC), PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), fluoropolymers (e.g., PTFE, Teflon), polypropylene (PP), and silicone.
[0135] Handle cover 324 is disposed on the front surface of light guide 323 and physically contacts a corresponding side of a plurality of pads 3222. For example, handle cover 324 may be formed to have the same texture as the front panel 30a of door 30. For example, when the second sensor 220 is implemented as a sensor configured to sense a non-contact touch at a single point, handle cover 324 may be made of a metallic material. Alternatively, when the second sensor 220 is implemented as a sensor configured to sense a non-contact touch at multiple points, handle cover 324 may be made of a non-metallic material.
[0136] [Device and method for controlling the handle]
[0137] Figure 11 This is a block diagram of the control device for a dishwasher according to an embodiment.
[0138] Reference Figure 11 The control device of the dishwasher 10 includes a first sensor 210, a second sensor 220, a first limit switch 230, a second limit switch 240, a control panel 32, a first LED module 250, a second LED module 260, a handle drive motor 351, a tactile motor, a speaker and microphone 140, and a controller 100.
[0139] The first sensor 210 detects a person within a first distance from the dishwasher 1. The first sensor 210 can be positioned on the underside of the door 30 to maintain a seamless design of the front panel 30a of the door 30. Furthermore, the first sensor 210 can also be used as a sensor to activate the sensing function of the second sensor 220. For example, when the first sensor 210 senses a person within the first distance from the dishwasher 1, the controller 100 can be configured to apply a touch drive signal to the second sensor 220 to activate its sensing function, allowing the second sensor 220 to sense the approach of a person's hand.
[0140] Based on the distance between a person and the dishwasher 1 sensed by the first sensor 210, the controller 100 can be configured to allow the handle 31 to extend to a first position Pd1 when the person approaches a position within a first distance from the dishwasher 1. For example, the first distance can be set to 50 cm from the dishwasher 1, and the first position Pd1 can be set to a position corresponding to a displacement stroke Ls of 5 mm. In one example, the controller 100 can be configured to allow the handle 31 to move to the first position Pd1 when the person approaches a position within 50 cm from the dishwasher 1 and remains at this position within the first distance for 1 second or longer.
[0141] Furthermore, the controller 100 can be configured to activate the second sensor 220 in response to the person approaching a position within a first distance from the dishwasher 1, based on the distance between the person and the dishwasher 1 measured by the first sensor 210.
[0142] For example, the first sensor 210 can be implemented as a proximity sensor that detects the approach of an object located in front of the dishwasher 1.
[0143] In another example, the first sensor 210 can be implemented as a position-sensitive detector (PSD) sensor. A PSD sensor is a sensor used to detect position using a light source. A PSD sensor is an optical sensor used to measure the position of incident light and can determine the position of an object based on measurements of the current distribution generated when light or particles collide with the sensor surface. A PSD sensor can be referred to as a position detection sensor or a light position detector.
[0144] In yet another example, the first sensor 210 can be implemented as a time-of-flight (TOF) sensor. A TOF sensor is a sensor configured to emit light of a specific wavelength, measure the time it takes for the light to be emitted to an object, reflected from the object, and return to the sensor, and calculate the distance to the object based on the measured time. The TOF sensor accurately measures the round-trip time of light and uses the duration of light emission to the object, reflection from the object, and return to the sensor to calculate the distance between the object and the sensor in real time.
[0145] In yet another example, the first sensor 210 can be implemented as an ultrasonic sensor. An ultrasonic sensor is a sensor configured to: send sound waves to an object and receive reflected waves from the object, and measure the distance to the object based on the reception of the reflected waves. The ultrasonic sensor can accurately calculate the distance to the object based on the measurement of the duration between the emission of the sound waves and the reception of the reflected waves.
[0146] In yet another example, the first sensor 210 can be implemented as a radar sensor. The radar sensor can be configured to transmit radio waves, receive reflected waves, measure the duration between the transmission and reception of the radio waves, and calculate the distance to an object based on that duration. The radar sensor can monitor various information about the object, such as angle, position, and velocity, based on the phase difference between the transmitted and reflected waves.
[0147] In yet another example, the first sensor 210 can be implemented as a LiDAR sensor. The LiDAR sensor is configured to use the time-of-flight (TOF) principle to measure the time it takes for a laser beam to be emitted toward, reflected from, and return to an object, and to calculate the distance to the object based on the measured duration. The LiDAR sensor can identify sensor values of the surrounding environment while being rotated 360 degrees using a motor.
[0148] In yet another example, the first sensor 210 may include a thermal sensor. A thermal sensor is a sensor configured to detect heat emitted from a human body or object and to identify the location of the human body or object based on analysis of the detected heat. Thermal sensors use infrared radiation energy to detect human bodies or objects and do not use light, thus they can operate effectively even in dark environments.
[0149] The second sensor 220 detects a human hand within a second distance from the handle 31. The second sensor 220 can be disposed inside the handle 31. The second sensor 220 can be housed within the handle 31 so that the front panel 30a of the door 30 can be maintained in a seamless design. When the second sensor 220 senses a human hand, it can be used to extend the handle 31 to a second position Pd2. Additionally, the second sensor 220 can be used to detect whether the user's hand is trapped between the handle 31 and the door 30.
[0150] When the detection result of the first sensor 210 determines that a person exists within a first distance, the second sensor 220 can activate its sensing function under the control of the controller 100. For example, the second sensor 220 may include touch electrodes, and the controller 100 may be configured to apply a touch driving signal to the touch electrodes of the second sensor 220 to activate the second sensor 220 to detect an object. In this disclosure, the on state of the second sensor can indicate that its touch function is activated, and the off state of the second sensor can indicate that its touch function is deactivated. For example, the second sensor 220 may be in an inactive state in the standby state of the dishwasher 1, and may switch to an active state under the control of the controller 100 in response to the detection result of the first sensor 210 determining that a person exists within the first distance.
[0151] Based on the signal sensed by the second sensor 220, in response to a human hand approaching a position within a second distance from the handle, the controller 100 can be configured to allow the handle 31 to extend to a second position Pd2. For example, the second distance can be set to 5 cm, and the second position can be set to a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 45 mm for the handle.
[0152] For example, the second sensor 220 can be implemented as a capacitance-based sensor capable of sensing non-contact (air touch) or physical touch by a user on the front surface of the handle 31. The second sensor 220 may include touch electrodes, which may be mounted on a printed circuit board 322 disposed inside the handle. The second sensor 220 can sense air touch or physical touch based on sensing changes in capacitance between the touch electrodes and the user's hand.
[0153] In another example, the second sensor 220 can be implemented as a capacitance-based sensor including multiple spaced touch electrodes. Preset UI functions can be executed based on the touch position or touch pattern of the handle 31. For example, when the user touches the central portion of the handle 31, the function of extending the handle to the second position Pd2 can be executed. When the user touches the left or right portion of the handle 31, the function of temporarily stopping the operation of the dishwasher 1 or retracting the handle to the first position Pd1 can be executed. As described above, the handle 31 can be used as a unit for executing preset UI functions.
[0154] The handlebar drive motor 351 is used to reciprocate the handlebar in the forward and backward direction. The handlebar drive motor 351 may be included in a handlebar driver disposed in each of the first handlebar body 321a and the second handlebar body 321b. The handlebar drive motor 351 generates a rotational driving force for rotating the drive cam in the forward or reverse direction.
[0155] As described above, the controller 100 can be configured to: in response to the first sensor 210 detecting a person, control the handle drive motor 351 to extend the handle 31 to a first position Pd1, and when the second sensor 220 senses a human hand, control the handle drive motor 351 to extend the handle 31 to a second position Pd2, in which the handle extends forward beyond the first position Pd1.
[0156] The first limit switch 230 senses the closed state of the handle 31 and provides its sensing signal to the controller 100. The closed state of the handle 31 indicates that the handle 31 has moved to the rearmost position or retracted position Pa, and is fully inserted into the door 30. The second limit switch 240 detects the closed state of the door 30 and provides its sensing signal to the controller 100.
[0157] The control panel 32 may include buttons 34 for user input and a display 33 for showing the current operating status. Furthermore, the control panel 32 may include a second LED module 260 for displaying the operation status of the buttons 34. The second LED module 260 may be used in the display 33 for displaying the current operating status.
[0158] The first LED module 250 can be disposed inside the handle 31. A plurality of LED elements 3221 of the first LED module 250 can be arranged along the upper and lower lines of the front surface of the printed circuit board 322 and along the periphery of the handle 31. The first LED module 250 can be used as a welcome light. Additionally, the first LED module 250 can be configured to emit light such that the color of the light changes according to a washing, rinsing, or drying cycle to indicate the cycle status.
[0159] Furthermore, the plurality of LED elements 3221 can be configured such that the number of lit LED elements 3221 arranged in the left-right direction gradually increases according to the elapsed duration of the washing, rinsing, or drying process, and thus can be used as illumination to indicate the elapsed duration. Additionally, the plurality of LED elements 3221 can be configured to emit red light for a notification to prevent pinching. Furthermore, the plurality of LED elements 3221 can be configured to emit light such that the color of the light changes according to the internal temperature of the dishwasher 1, and thus can be used as a light for warning of safety accidents.
[0160] A haptic motor 360 may be disposed in the handle 31 and may be used as one of the devices for warning of hand pinching. In one example, the haptic motor 360 is used to generate vibration in the handle 31 when it detects that a hand is pinched between the handle 31 and the door 30.
[0161] The speaker and microphone 140 can be used to notify or guide the dishwasher 1 regarding mode selection or operating status. Furthermore, the speaker and microphone 140 can be used to issue a warning when a hand is detected being pinched or when the door 30 is opened due to a high internal temperature in the dishwasher 1. Additionally, the speaker and microphone 140 can be used to recognize voice commands for controlling the dishwasher 1.
[0162] The controller 100 can be configured to receive input signals from the control panel 32, receive detection signals from each sensor, and control each load based on the input signal or detection signal of each sensor.
[0163] The controller 100 may be configured to include at least one processor. The processor may include one or more of a central processing unit (CPU), an application processor, or a communication processor. Furthermore, the controller 100 may be configured to include a timer 120. Additionally, the controller 100 may be configured to include an analog-to-digital converter that converts signals detected from sensors into digital signals. Furthermore, the controller 100 may be configured to include a driver for driving individual motors. Furthermore, the controller 100 may be configured to include a driver for driving each LED module. Additionally, the controller 100 may be configured to include a driver for driving touch electrodes disposed in the handle.
[0164] For example, controller 100 may be configured to include touch driving circuitry. Controller 100 may be configured to apply a touch driving signal TDS to the touch electrode of the second sensor 220 via touch driving circuitry TDC, and may receive feedback signals from the touch electrode. Controller 100 may be configured to determine that a hand is approaching the handle 31 based on the detection of changes in the feedback signal caused by changes in capacitance between the hand and the touch electrode.
[0165] The memory 130 may store data or programs for controlling the dishwasher 130. Furthermore, the memory 130 may store various parameters based on each wash cycle, such as pre-stored operating conditions and time conditions for each cycle. Additionally, data or programs for controlling the handle 31 may be stored in the memory 130.
[0166] The communication unit 60 can be used to communicate with an external terminal 70. For example, the communication unit 60 can communicate with a user's remote control or smart terminal. An application for controlling or setting the dishwasher 1 can be installed on the smart terminal. The user can control the dishwasher 1 or set its operating mode through the smart terminal. For example, the user can use a remote control or a smart terminal capable of communicating with the communication unit 60 to select and set the welcome light of the dishwasher 1.
[0167] When it is determined, based on the sensing results from the first sensor 210, that a user is approaching the dishwasher 1, the controller 100 can be configured to drive the handle drive motor 351 of the handle driver in the forward direction to move the handle 31 to a first position Pd1 in the forward direction.
[0168] Furthermore, in response to the second sensor 220 sensing the user's hand after the handle 31 has moved to the first position Pd1, the controller 100 can be configured to additionally drive the handle drive motor 351 in the forward direction so as to move the handle 31 to the second position Pd2 in the forward direction.
[0169] Furthermore, in response to user commands input from the control panel 32, the controller 100 can be configured to control the dishwasher 1 to turn its power on / off or perform individual cycles of the dishwasher 1 according to the selected washing program and selected operating mode. Additionally, the controller 100 can be configured to receive user commands from an external terminal via the communication unit 60.
[0170] In addition, the controller 100 can be configured to receive a detection signal from the first limit switch 230 and determine whether the handle 31 is in the first position Pd1, the second position Pd2, or the retracted position Pa based on the received detection signal.
[0171] Furthermore, the controller 100 can be configured to receive a detection signal from the second limit switch 240 and determine whether the door 30 is currently in a closed or open state based on the received detection signal. Additionally, if it is necessary to open the door 30 when it is closed, the control unit 100 can be configured to operate the handle driver to move the handle 31 to the second position Pd2 in the forward direction.
[0172] Furthermore, the controller 100 can be configured to determine whether a user's hand or other object is caught between the handle 31 and the door 30 by means of a signal received from the second sensor 220. Additionally, the controller 100 can be configured to determine whether a user's hand or other object is caught between the handle 31 and the door 30 by means of a signal received from a current sensor (not shown), which detects an overload of the handle drive motor 351 when the handle 31 moves backward.
[0173] Furthermore, the controller 100 can be configured to control the lighting of the first LED module 250 at the same time as or after the start of the forward movement of the handle 31 toward the first position Pd1.
[0174] Furthermore, in response to determining that a user's hand or object is caught between the handle 31 and the door 30 after the handle 31 begins to move backward based on a signal received from the second sensor 220, the controller 100 can be configured to drive the haptic motor 360 to generate vibration.
[0175] Furthermore, based on signals received from the second sensor 220, when a user's hand or object is caught in or between the handle 31 and the door 30, the controller 100 can be configured to generate a voice or sound notification via the speaker 140 to guide the user to remove their hand or object from the handle 31. For example, the voice notification may include guidance or warning information instructing "Please remove your hand from the handle. I will close the handle" or "Please remove the object from the handle. I will close the handle."
[0176] Furthermore, the controller 100 can be configured to invoke the operating conditions, time conditions, etc. of each cycle based on each washing program pre-stored in the memory 130, and use the operating conditions or time conditions to generate control signals for controlling the execution and termination of the cycle according to the washing program.
[0177] In the following text, reference will be made to Figures 12A to 12B , Figures 13A to 13B , Figures 14A to 14C , Figures 15A to 15B and Figures 16A to 16B A method for controlling a dishwasher 1 according to some embodiments of the present disclosure is described.
[0178] In this disclosure, the first handle movement segment corresponds to the state where the handle 31 is concealed inside the door 30. The second handle movement segment corresponds to the state where the handle 31 extends from inside the door 30 to a first position Pd1. In one example, the second handle movement segment may correspond to the state where the handle 31 moves forward 5 mm from the front panel 30a of the door 30. The third handle movement segment corresponds to the state where the handle 31 extends forward 45 mm from the front panel 30a of the door 30.

In the first default mode, the first LED module 250 can be turned off, the handle drive motor 351 can be deactivated (the handle is hidden inside the door), the first sensor 210 can be turned on, and the second sensor 220 can be turned off.
[0182] When the first sensor 210 detects a person within 50cm of the dishwasher 1 and determines that the person has remained there for one second or more, in S13, the controller 100 causes the dishwasher 1 to operate in welcome mode. In welcome mode, in S13, the controller 100 allows the handle drive motor 351 to operate so that the handle 31 extends partially by 5mm in the forward direction, turns on the first LED module 250 to act as a welcome light, and turns on the second sensor 220.
[0183] In S14, the controller 100 determines whether the second sensor 220 detects a human hand within 20 seconds after the first sensor 210 detects a person.
[0184] When the second sensor 220 detects a human hand within 20 seconds after the first sensor 210 detects a human, the controller 100 causes the dishwasher 1 handle to operate in a first pop-up mode. In the first pop-up mode, the controller 100 drives the handle drive motor 351 to extend the handle 31 to a maximum extent of 45mm in the forward direction, and in S15, the first LED module 250 is turned on in a white dimming mode.
[0185] In S16, after setting the cycle mode of the dishwasher 1, the controller 100 determines whether the start button on the control panel 32 is activated. When the start button on the control panel 32 is activated, the controller 100 uses the second limit switch 240 in S17 to determine whether the door 30 has been closed.
[0186] When the door 30 is closed, the controller 100 causes the handle 21 to operate in a pop-in mode. That is, in S18, the controller 100 drives the handle drive motor 351 to move the handle 31 from a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 45 mm to a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 5 mm, and causes the first LED module 250 to flash white light.
[0187] While moving the handle 31 from a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 45 mm to a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 5 mm, the controller 100 operates the dishwasher 1 in a safety check mode. In S19, in the safety check mode, the controller 100 determines whether a person's hand is detected at the same time as a person is detected, based on the sensing signals of the first sensor 210 and the second sensor 220.
[0188] In response to detecting a human hand when the handle 31 moves from a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 45 mm to a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 5 mm, the controller 100 causes the dishwasher 1 to operate in a safe mode in S20. In the safe mode, the controller 100 can be configured to drive the handle drive motor 351 to move the handle 31 from a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of X mm to a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 45 mm to cause the first LED module 250 to flash red light, and to drive the haptic motor 360 to generate vibration.
[0189] When it is determined in the safety check mode that the handle 31 is not caught between the door and the handle, the controller 100 moves the handle 31 to a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 5 mm, and in S21, puts the dishwasher 1 into the washing operation mode. In this regard, the controller 100 can be configured to turn on the first LED module 250 in a cyclic related color in the washing operation mode.
[0190] For example, the first LED module 250 can light up blue when turned on in each of the washing and rinsing processes, and can light up red when turned on during the drying process. The first LED module 250 can be turned on in such a way that the number of LED elements 3221 arranged in the left-right direction, which are lit at a high brightness level, gradually increases in a first direction (in one example, from left to right) as the dishwasher 1 runs.
[0191] In S22, the controller 100 determines whether the operation of the dishwasher 1 has ended.
[0192] In response to the completion of operation of dishwasher 1, controller 100 causes dishwasher 1 to operate in a first default mode in S11. In the first default mode, the first LED module 250 is off, handle 31 is hidden inside door 30, first sensor 210 is on, and second sensor 220 is off.
[0193] Figure 13A and Figure 13B This is a flowchart illustrating a method for controlling dishwasher 1 according to another embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0194] Reference Figure 11 , Figure 13A and Figure 13BIn S32, the controller 100 of dishwasher 1 determines whether the first sensor 210 has detected a person in the standby state S31 of the first default mode. In the first default mode, the first LED module 250 can be turned off, the handle drive motor 351 can be deactivated (the handle is hidden inside the door), the first sensor 210 can be turned on, and the second sensor 220 can be turned off.
[0195] When the first sensor 210 detects that a person is within 50cm of the dishwasher 1 and determines that the person has been there for one second or more, the controller 100 causes the dishwasher 1 to operate in welcome mode in S33. In welcome mode, in S33, the controller 100 allows the handle drive motor 351 to operate so that the handle 31 extends partially by 5mm in the forward direction, turns on the first LED module 250 to act as a welcome light, and turns on the second sensor 220.
[0196] In S34, the controller 100 determines whether the second sensor 220 disposed in the handle 31 has detected a human hand. For example, in S34, the controller 100 determines whether the second sensor 220 has detected a human hand within 20 seconds after the time point when the first sensor 210 detected a person.
[0197] When the second sensor 220 detects a human hand within 20 seconds after the first sensor 210 detects a human, the controller 100 in S35 causes the dishwasher 1 handle to operate in a first pop-up mode. In the first pop-up mode, the controller 100 drives the handle drive motor 351 to extend the handle 31 to a maximum extent of 45mm in the forward direction, and in S35, the first LED module 250 is turned on in a white dimming mode.
[0198] After setting the cycle mode of dishwasher 1, in S36, controller 100 determines whether the start button on control panel 32 is activated. When the start button on control panel 32 is activated, controller 100 uses second limit switch 240 in S37 to determine whether door 30 is closed.
[0199] When the door 30 is closed, the controller 100 causes the handle 21 to operate in a pop-in mode. That is, in S38, the controller 100 drives the handle drive motor 351 to move the handle 31 from a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 45 mm to a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 5 mm, causing the first LED module 250 to flash white light.
[0200] While moving the handle 31 from a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 45 mm to a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 5 mm, the controller 100 causes the dishwasher 1 to operate in a safety check mode. In S39, in the safety check mode, the controller 100 determines whether a person's hand is sensed at the same time as a person is sensed, based on the sensing signals of the first sensor 210 and the second sensor 220.
[0201] In response to detecting a human hand when the handle 31 moves from a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 45 mm to a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 5 mm, the controller 100 causes the dishwasher 1 to operate in a safe mode in S40. In the safe mode, the controller 100 can be configured to drive the handle drive motor 351 to move the handle 31 from a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of X mm to a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 45 mm, causing the first LED module 250 to flash red light, and to drive the haptic motor 360 to generate vibration.
[0202] After the safety mode is completed in S40, the controller 100 checks in S41 whether the second sensor 220 has detected a human hand. If it is determined that no human hand has been detected, the controller 100 moves the handle 31 from a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 45 mm back to a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 5 mm, and in S42, starts the dishwasher 1 in washing operation mode. The controller 100 can be configured to perform at least one of washing, rinsing, and drying in washing operation mode.
[0203] In step S43, the controller 100 determines whether the washing operation mode of the dishwasher 1 has ended. When the washing operation mode of the dishwasher 1 has ended, the controller 100 restarts the dishwasher 1 in the first default mode.
[0204] Figure 14A , Figure 14B and Figure 14C This is a flowchart illustrating a method for controlling a dishwasher 1 according to yet another embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0205] Reference Figure 11 , Figure 14A , Figure 14B and Figure 14C First, in S52, the controller 100 of the dishwasher 1 determines whether the first sensor 210 has detected a person in the standby state S51 of the first default mode. In the first default mode, the first LED module 250 can be turned off, the handle drive motor 351 can be deactivated (the handle is hidden inside the door), the first sensor 210 can be turned on, and the second sensor 220 can be turned off.
[0206] When the first sensor 210 detects that a person is within 50cm of the dishwasher 1 and determines that the person has been there for one second or more, the controller 100 causes the dishwasher 1 to operate in welcome mode in S53. In welcome mode, in S53, the controller 100 allows the handle drive motor 351 to operate so that the handle 31 extends partially by 5mm in the forward direction, turns on the first LED module 250 to act as a welcome light, and turns on the second sensor 220.
[0207] In S54, the controller 100 determines whether the second sensor 220 disposed in the handle 31 has detected a human hand. For example, in S54, the controller 100 determines whether the second sensor 220 has detected a human hand within 20 seconds after the first sensor 210 detected a person.
[0208] When the second sensor 220 detects a human hand within 20 seconds after the first sensor 210 detects a human, the controller 100 causes the dishwasher 1 handle to operate in a first pop-up mode. In the first pop-up mode, the controller 100 drives the handle drive motor 351 to extend the handle 31 a maximum of 45mm in the forward direction, and in S55, the first LED module 250 is turned on in a white dimming mode.
[0209] After setting the cycle mode of dishwasher 1, in S56, controller 100 determines whether the start button on control panel 32 is activated. When the start button on control panel 32 is activated, controller 100 uses second limit switch 240 in S57 to determine whether door 30 is closed.
[0210] When the door 30 is closed, the controller 100 causes the handle 31 to operate in a pop-in mode. That is, in S58, the controller 100 drives the handle drive motor 351 to move the handle 31 from a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 45 mm to a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 5 mm, causing the first LED module 250 to flash white light.
[0211] In S59, the controller 100 moves the handle 31 from a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 45 mm to a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 5 mm, while simultaneously enabling the dishwasher 1 to operate in a safety check mode. In the safety check mode, the controller 100 determines whether a person's hand is detected at the same time as a person is detected, based on the sensing signals from the first sensor 210 and the second sensor 220.
[0212] For example, controller 100 may be configured to determine whether a hand is caught between handle 31 and door 30 based on a signal sensed by second sensor 220. Alternatively, controller 100 may be configured to determine whether an object is caught between handle 31 and door 30 based on the magnitude of the current of the load on handle drive motor 360.
[0213] In response to a hand gripping between the handle 31 and the door 30, the controller 100 in S60 causes the dishwasher 1 to operate in a safe mode.
[0214] When it is determined in the safety check mode that the handle 31 is not caught between the door and the handle, the controller 100 causes the dishwasher 1 to operate in the washing operation mode in S61.
[0215] In S62, the controller 100 can be configured to check whether the first sensor 210 detects a person and whether the second sensor 220 detects a human hand during the execution of the washing operation mode.
[0216] While the controller 100 is operating in the washing mode, if a human hand is sensed, the controller 100 causes the dishwasher 1 to operate in a second pop-up mode in S63. In the second pop-up mode, the controller 100 can be configured to drive the handle drive motor 351 to extend the handle 31 45mm in the forward direction of the door 30.
[0217] Furthermore, when the controller 100 is running in the washing operation mode, if a human hand is sensed, the controller 100 can be configured to change the color of the first LED module 250 based on the internal temperature of the dishwasher 1 to notify the user of the temperature status. For example, when the internal temperature of the dishwasher 1 is higher than or equal to a predetermined temperature, the first LED module 250 can flash red light so that the user can recognize the status.
[0218] This could refer to a scenario where, when a user attempts to open the door 30 while the dishwasher 1 is running, the controller 100 causes the handle 31 to operate in a second pop-out mode and informs the user of the internal temperature of the dishwasher 1.
[0219] Then, the control unit 100 executes steps S56, S57, S58, S59, and S60, and in S61, it puts the dishwasher 1 back into washing mode.
[0220] In S62, the controller 100 checks whether a human hand was detected during operation in the washing mode, and in S64, it determines whether the operation of the dishwasher 1 has been completed. When the operation of the dishwasher 1 has been completed, the dishwasher 1 resumes operation in the first default mode.
[0221] Figure 15A and Figure 15B This is a flowchart illustrating a method for controlling a dishwasher 1 according to yet another embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0222] Reference Figure 11 , Figure 15A and Figure 15B In S72, the controller 100 of the dishwasher 1 determines whether the first sensor 210 has detected a person in the standby state S71 of the first default mode.
[0223] In S73, when the first sensor 210 senses a person, the controller 100 drives the handle drive motor 351 to extend the handle 31 forward from the door 30 by 5mm, turns on the first LED module 250 to act as a welcome light, and turns on the second sensor 220.
[0224] In S74, the controller 100 determines whether the second sensor 220 located in the handle 31 has detected a human hand.
[0225] In this regard, when the second sensor 220 does not detect a human hand, the controller 100, in S75, causes the dishwasher 1 to operate in a second default mode. In the second default mode, the controller 100 turns off the first LED module 250, drives the handle drive motor 351 to retract the handle 31 into the door 30, thus concealing the handle 31 within the door 30, and keeps the first sensor 210 and the second sensor 220 in the on state. This could refer to a scenario where, as a user stands in front of the dishwasher 1 and performs other tasks such as cooking, the controller 100 causes the handle 31 to operate in the second default mode over time.
[0226] When the second sensor 220 detects a human hand, the controller 100 drives the handle drive motor 351 to extend the handle 31 forward by 45mm, and in S76, the first LED module 250 is turned on in white dimming mode.
[0227] In S77, controller 100 determines whether the start button on control panel 32 is activated. When the start button on control panel 32 is activated, controller 100 uses second limit switch 240 in S78 to determine whether door 30 is open or closed.
[0228] When the door 30 is confirmed to be closed, the controller 100 causes the handle 21 to operate in a pop-in mode in S79. That is, in S79, the controller 100 drives the handle drive motor 351 to move the handle 31 from a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 45 mm to a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 5 mm, causing the first LED module 250 to flash white light.
[0229] In S80, the controller 100 can be configured to determine whether a hand is caught between the handle 31 and the door 30 based on the signal of at least one of the sensors when the handle 31 moves from a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 45 mm to a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 5 mm.
[0230] When the handle 31 is not clamped between the handle 31 and the door 30, the controller 100 starts the dishwasher 1 in washing operation mode in S81, and determines in S82 whether the operation of the dishwasher 1 has been completed. When the operation of the dishwasher 1 has been completed, the dishwasher 1 starts running again in the first default mode.
[0231] Figure 16A and Figure 16B This is a flowchart illustrating a method for controlling a dishwasher 1 according to yet another embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0232] Reference Figure 11 , Figure 16A and Figure 16B In S92, the controller 100 of the dishwasher 1 determines whether the first sensor 210 has detected a person in the standby state S91 of the first default mode.
[0233] In S93, when the first sensor 210 senses a person, the controller 100 drives the handle drive motor 351 to extend the handle 31 forward from the door 30 by 5mm, turns on the first LED module 250 to act as a welcome light, and turns on the second sensor 220.
[0234] In S94, the controller 100 determines whether the second sensor 220 located in the handle 31 has detected a human hand.
[0235] In response to the second sensor 220 not detecting a human hand, the controller 100 in S95 causes the dishwasher 1 to operate in a second default mode. In the second default mode, the first LED module 250 is off, the handle 31 is hidden in the door 30, and the first sensor 210 and the second sensor 220 remain in the on / off state.
[0236] When the second sensor 220 detects a human hand, the controller 100 drives the handle drive motor 351 to extend the handle 31 forward by 45mm, and in S96, the first LED module 250 is turned on in white dimming mode.
[0237] In S97, the controller 100 checks whether a preset touch input has been sensed using the second sensor 220. For example, a long touch, gesture, double-tap, etc., can be set as the preset touch input. The controller 100 can be configured to use the second sensor 220 to check whether the user has inputted a long touch, gesture, double-tap, etc., onto the handle 31. This could refer to a scenario where, when the user is standing in front of the dishwasher 1 and performing other tasks such as cooking, the controller 100 operates the handle 31 in a second default mode according to the user's wishes.
[0238] In response to a preset touch input sensed by the second sensor 220, the controller 100 causes the dishwasher 1 to operate in a second default mode in S95. In the second default mode, the controller 100 turns off the first LED module 250, hides the handle 31 inside the door 30, and keeps the first sensor 210 and the second sensor 220 in the on state.
[0239] In response to the second sensor 220 detecting a preset touch input, the controller 100 determines in S98 whether the start button on the control panel 32 is activated. When the start button on the control panel 32 is activated, the controller 100 uses the second limit switch 240 in S99 to determine whether the door 30 is open or closed.
[0240] In response to the door 30 being closed, in S100, the controller 100 causes the handle 31 to operate in a spring-loaded mode. That is, in S100, the controller 100 drives the handle drive motor 351 to move the handle 31 from a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 45 mm to a position corresponding to a displacement stroke of 5 mm, causing the first LED module 250 to flash white light. In S101, while moving the handle 31 from the position corresponding to the displacement stroke of 45 mm to the position corresponding to the displacement stroke of 5 mm, the controller 100 determines whether a hand is caught between the handle 31 and the door 30 based on signals from at least one of the sensors.
[0241] In response to the fact that a hand is not caught between the handle 31 and the door 30, the controller 100 causes the dishwasher 1 to operate in a first pop-up mode in S96. In response to the fact that a hand is not caught between the handle 31 and the door 30, the controller 100 causes the dishwasher 1 to operate in a washing operation mode.
[0242] The controller 100 puts the dishwasher 1 into a washing operation mode, and then determines in S103 whether the washing operation has been completed. When the dishwasher 1 has completed its operation, the controller 100 puts the dishwasher 1 into a first default mode. In the first default mode, the first LED module 250 is turned off, and the handle drive motor 351 moves the handle 31 0mm, that is, the handle 31 is deactivated, and the controller 100 turns on the first sensor 210 and turns off the second sensor 220.
[0243] Figures 17 to 19 The illumination of the dishwasher handle according to some embodiments of this disclosure is shown.
[0244] refer to Figure 17The first LED module 250 of the handle 31 can operate in a welcome mode during the second handle movement section. For example, the handle 31 can operate in welcome mode when it has been moved 5mm forward in the front direction of the front panel 30a of the door 30. In welcome mode, multiple LED elements 3221 of the first LED module 250 of the handle 31 can be configured to light up in an animated manner, and to light up sequentially in a clockwise / counterclockwise rotation or a left / right gradient manner (from the center to each of the left and right sides, or from each of the left and right sides to the center in sequence), thus acting as a preset welcome light. In one example, the first LED module 250 can light up white light in welcome mode.
[0245] The operation settings of the first LED module 250 in the welcome mode can be controlled using an external terminal, such as a remote control or a smartphone. The application used to set the operation of the dishwasher 1 can be installed on a smartphone. The dishwasher 1 can send and receive data with the remote control or smartphone via the communication unit 60.
[0246] Furthermore, the first LED module 250 of the handle 31 can be configured to emit light such that the color of the light changes according to the washing, rinsing, or drying operation in the second washing operation mode of the second handle movement section. For example, the first LED module 250 of the handle 31 can illuminate blue light during each washing and rinsing cycle, red light during the drying cycle, and white light when all cycles are completed.
[0247] Furthermore, the first LED module 250 of the handle 31 can illuminate in different colors under various conditions, such as during nighttime drying, steaming, or high indoor temperatures. As described above, the dishwasher 1 can visually display the current status based on the illuminated color of the first LED module 250 of the handle 31 during its operating mode.
[0248] Additionally, refer to Figure 18 In the second handle moving section, a plurality of LED elements 3221 of the first LED module 250 of the handle 31 can be configured such that the number of lit LED elements 3221 arranged in the left-right direction gradually increases according to the elapsed duration of the washing, rinsing or drying process, and can thus be used as lights to indicate the elapsed duration.
[0249] Additionally, when a hand is detected being trapped between the handle and the door as the handle moves from the third handle movement section to the second handle movement section, the first LED module 250 of the handle 31 can illuminate red. For example, when a hand is sensed being trapped as the handle moves from a position corresponding to a 45mm displacement stroke to a position corresponding to a 5mm displacement stroke, the first LED module 250 can illuminate red, the haptic motor 360 of the handle 31 can vibrate, and the speaker 140 can generate a warning sound to notify the user that the hand is trapped.
[0250] Furthermore, when a user intends to open the door 30 during the operation of the dishwasher 1, the first LED module 250 of the handle 31 can illuminate red in response to the temperature inside the dishwasher 1 being higher than a reference value. When a user intends to open the door 30 during the operation of the dishwasher 1, the first LED module 250 of the handle 31 can illuminate blue in response to the temperature inside the dishwasher 1 being lower than a reference value.
