Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The utility model relates to a device for producing animation by lighting through film, more specifically, the device is fixed in a bubble toy and is activated by connecting an accessory with the toy. Background Art
[0002] There are toys that use light emitting diodes ("LEDs") located in different chambers to produce animation or animated images. However, these toys fail because they cannot produce clear animated images that are easily seen at different distances. In addition, when the image is projected onto another surface, it is distorted and unreadable.
[0003] In addition, there are toys that light up in sync with songs or sounds. However, these toys are limited in use because the synchronization is pre-programmed, so the animated function of the toy is only programmed with one pre-programmed sound. In addition, these known toys are not activated by environmental sounds and interactions.
[0004] Furthermore, while toys that generate bubbles exist, these toys do not have the ability to be transformed into customizable animated characters through attachable accessories. Furthermore, these existing toys do not produce animated images resulting from the attachment of accessories. For example, these known devices do not have a method of securing accessories thereto that activates various features of the toy while still allowing bubbles to be discharged from the toy. The entire contents of the above applications are incorporated herein by reference.
[0044] Figure 1-4 A lighting animation device 10 is shown, which can be fixed in a bubble generating toy 100, such as Figure 4-10 and 12-18. Fig.11 A schematic diagram of a circuit that is closed when the cap 140 is connected to the housing 130 of the toy is shown, thereby activating the light-up animation device. The light-up animation device is similar to the device made by the applicant and disclosed in U.S. Patent Application No. 18 / 054,693, and the bubble toy is similar to the bubble wand made by the applicant and disclosed in U.S. Patent Application No. 17 / 335,447, which are incorporated herein by reference in their entirety.
[0045] like Figure 1-3 As shown, the lighting animation device 10 comprises a cylindrical housing 20, which comprises a cylindrical cover 30 fixed on its front face 23 and a cylindrical base 21 fixed on its back face 26. Between the cover and the base is a cylindrical wall 22 extending from the base to the cover. The extension of the wall between the two faces forms a housing compartment 25, in which various internal components of the device are fixed. The cylindrical cover comprises a slot 31, in which a film 28 is fixed.
[0046] like Figure 1-3 , 8-9 and 12, one way in which the device 10 is secured to the housing 130 of the toy 100 is through a bracket system that includes one or both of an upper bracket 33 and a lower bracket 34. These brackets are fixed or welded to the outer surface of the wall 22 of the device. The brackets can be secured by any suitable method, such as by screws or glue.
[0047] like Figure 1-3 ,in particular Figure 2 As shown, the device 10 includes a cover 30 that secures the periphery of the front face 23 of the device to the wall 22. Figure 1-2 As shown, the cover includes a notch 37, which corresponds to the snap 27 forming part of the wall, so that the cover can be easily snapped onto the wall. The cover includes a groove 31, in which the film 28 fits snugly. For example, Figure 2 As shown, the cover is normally open so that when the film is placed in the slot, the film surrounds the central opening of the cover. Advantageously, the film is tightly secured within the cover so that it does not slide out when the device is inverted. In addition, the film is easily removable and interchangeable with different films having different images. For example, the film is an opaque black matte acetate sheet with an image die-cut into the film. In this embodiment, the film includes a first image 29 engraved therein, which is a smiling face with two eyes and a mouth. Any image can be engraved or cut into this film depending on the specific requirements of the user. In addition, if desired, the film forms the outermost part of the front face and includes a fixing mechanism connected to the wall.
[0048] like Figure 1-3 ,in particular Figure 2 As shown, the wall 22 extends from the base 21 to the cover 30 and forms a housing compartment 25 where various internal components are secured. The housing compartment is divided into a first chamber 38 and a second chamber 40 by a chamber divider 36. The divider is secured or welded to two opposing inner surfaces of the wall. Since the first image 29 is a smiling face, the divider is bent to correspond to the U-shape of the mouth. The divider is advantageously positioned so that any image containing a mouth will benefit from the desired talking animation effect. The number of chambers varies depending on the image etched into the film 28, the size of the device 10, and / or the desired animation effect. As shown in FIG. Figure 3 As shown, the film is fixed adjacent to the first chamber and the second chamber so that the upper part of the eyes and mouth are aligned in the first chamber and the lower part of the mouth is aligned in the second chamber. This specific positioning of the image adjacent to the first and second chambers helps to produce the desired speaking animation effect of the image.
[0049] like Figure 2-3 As shown, a first LED 44 is fixed in the first cavity 38 and a second LED 46 is fixed in the second cavity 40. The LEDs are one color and / or vary in color and / or brightness. The number of LEDs varies depending on factors such as the number of cavities present in the housing 20, the image engraved in the film 28, and the desired animation effect. Both LEDs are fixed and electrically connected to a printed circuit board ("PCB") 42, which is fixed in the back 26 of the housing, for example, by screws 43. As shown in FIG. Figure 2 As shown, the base 21 of the device is manufactured to include a compartment 47 in which the PCB and LEDs are fixed. The LEDs are fixed to the PCB using surface mounting technology. Advantageously, the inventors have discovered that positioning the first and second LEDs at a precise distance from the film allows a clear animated image to be produced regardless of whether it is projected onto another surface. Specifically, the distance between the LEDs and the film is important for controlling the size and position of the image projected through the film to produce a clear and readable image. The distance between the LEDs and the film is about 5 mm to about 15 mm, which can produce a clear, accurate animated image that is easily discernible to the naked eye.
[0050] However, this distance varies depending on the toy being mounted, the size of the device, the number of LEDs, and the image etched into the film. Figure 8-9 and Fig.12As shown, when the device 10 is fixed in the housing 130 of the bubble toy 100, the image cut in the film 28 is magnified when it is illuminated on the inner surface of the housing. Advantageously, the image 29 projected by the device is refracted onto the inner surface of the housing and thus appears larger than the size of the film. Therefore, the device is located at a precise distance from the inner surface of the housing so that the surface projected on it appears larger through the front surface of the housing and is also clearly visible. The housing is a precise opacity through which light is refracted and clearly visible. For example, Figure 4 and 6 As shown in Figure 7, the front of the housing includes an outline, or is etched therein to depict the face or eyes of the character. Thus, the first LED 44 fixed in the first chamber 38 continuously emits light when activated to continuously illuminate the eyes and upper part of the mouth of the character. The second LED 46 in the second chamber 40 emits light in synchronization with the song or sound being played, so that the lower part of the mouth appears to be talking. Therefore, when the face of the person is projected onto the outline through the film, the animated image is magnified and perfectly aligned with the outline.
[0051] like Figure 8-9 and Fig.12 As shown, the lighting animation device 10 is fixed in the housing 130 of the bubble generating toy 100. Figure 4-9 As shown, the bubble generating toy includes a bubble generating solution reservoir 110, which is connected to the housing via a shaft 120. Figure 4-9 As shown in Figures 12-18, a cap 140 or other accessory may be attached to the top of the shell. In addition, to make the character more versatile and realistic, hair 132 or other accessories may be attached to the back of the shell. When the light animation device is activated and an image is projected onto the inner surface of the front of the shell, the bubble toy comes to life as a unique bubble toy character.
[0052] like Figure 10-11 As shown, the printed circuit board 42 of the device 10 is electrically connected to a microcontroller unit 150, such as an integrated circuit, which is fixed within the housing 130 of the toy 100. Figure 8-9 12-13, the microcontroller unit is fixed to the top of the housing around the air duct 162 of the bubble engine 160. The microcontroller unit includes circuitry necessary to control and activate the light animation device and other unique features of the toy, such as bubble generation, activation of the microphone 125, emission of sound through the speaker 122, and illumination of the LED 152.
[0053] like Figure 8-11 As shown, a speaker 122 is fixed in the shaft 120, and the speaker 122 is electrically connected to the DF player 124. Fig.11. The DF player is pre-programmed with various songs, stories and sounds, for example on an SD card, before being fixed on the shaft. The DF player is electrically connected to a microcontroller unit 150, which sends a signal to the DF player depending on the mode the toy is in. The mode of the toy is activated by a sliding switch 126 or a button 128 fixed in the shaft. Depending on the mode, different sounds are transmitted from the DF player to the speaker. Further fixed in the shaft is a microphone 125, which is electrically connected to the sliding switch and the microcontroller unit. When the microphone is activated by the sliding switch, the toy is in interactive mode. In interactive mode, the first LED 44 and the second LED 46 of the lighting animation device are sound activated via ambient sounds detected by the microphone.
[0054] like Figure 8-9 As shown, further secured within the shaft 120 are batteries 127 that power the toy 100. These batteries are electrically connected to the slide switch 126 and buttons 128 that define the modes of the toy. For example, when the user presses a button, a pre-programmed song, sound, and / or story stored in the DF player 124 begins to play through the speaker 122. The illumination of the first and second LEDs (42, 46) within the illumination animation device is programmed to illuminate in sync with the sound so that the mouth appears to be moving or speaking.
[0055] When the user slides the slide switch 126 downward, another mode of the toy 100 is activated. In this mode, the other LEDs 152 located in the housing 130 are activated and the illuminated animation device 10 is activated. In addition, this mode is interactive, which means that the first and second LEDs (42, 46) located in the animation device are illuminated in synchronization with the sound detected by the microphone 125. Fig.10 As shown, the microphone is electrically connected to a receiver 154, which detects sound through the microphone. The receiver detects the sound and sends the signal to the PCB 42 through the relay 156. The first and second LEDs light up in synchronization with the sound detected by the microphone. For example, when the user speaks, the lighting animation device illuminates in synchronization with the user's voice so that the character appears to be saying the words the user is saying. In addition, the LEDs are illuminated in a unique manner to create an aesthetically pleasing light show. For example, the LEDs vary in intensity, color temperature, color, lighting duration, and timing. Therefore, the light patterns of the LEDs are random or regular, or they are controlled in a continuous sequence or pattern, a customized sequence or pattern, and / or a sequence or pattern based on various modes of the toy combined with constant timing, variable timing, and / or dimming.
[0056] When the user slides the slide switch 126 upward, another mode of the toy 100 is activated. In this mode, the bubble engine is activated and the toy generates bubbles through the bubble discharge port 164 located in the top of the housing 130. The bubble engine and related elements of the toy required to create bubbles are similar to those used in the bubble generating toys or bubble wands made by applicant and disclosed in U.S. Patent Application No. 17 / 335,447, which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety. In addition, in this mode, the LED 152 is illuminated in a unique pattern. In addition, in this mode, the lighting animation device 10 is activated by the connection of the cap 140 to the housing 130. The connection of the cap closes the circuit between the cap and the housing, thereby activating various functions of the toy, see Fig.11 The closed circuit diagram in .
[0057] like Figure 8-9 , 12-13 and 17, the cap 140 is connected to the housing 130 by a snap ring 144, which is fixed to the inner surface of the cap, such as by glue or screws. The snap ring snaps onto a matching flange 146, which is fixed around the bubble discharge nozzle 143 of the housing. The cap snaps onto the flange by the snap ring and can be easily removed by gently applying upward force.
[0058] like Fig. 9 , Figure 12-13 , Fig.15 and Fig.17 As shown, a specially designed keyed bracket 148 is molded on the inner surface of the cap 140. Fixed to the bracket are two resistors (145, 147), such as spring pins. Figure 8-9 , Fig.12 and Figure 14-17 As shown, the key-shaped bracket is aligned with a corresponding notch 154 in the top of the housing, which includes two slots (156, 158) into which the spring pin is inserted. The alignment of the key shape with the notch ensures that the cap can only be connected to the housing in one position, thereby always closing the circuit by connection. Fig. 9 and 12-13, when the cap is connected to the housing, the circuit is closed because the spring pin is connected to the microcontroller unit 150. The microcontroller is pre-programmed and embedded before being fixed in the housing of the toy to identify different values of the resistor. When the resistor in the cap is connected to the microcontroller unit, the unit detects and identifies the specific resistance value. Then, the unit sends a corresponding signal to the DF player 124 to play the sound associated with the specific resistance value. In addition, the first LED 44 and the second LED 46 of the lighting animation device 10 are programmed to illuminate synchronously with the sound emitted from the speaker 122 via the PCB 42 and the microcontroller. For example, the DF player is programmed with ten sounds, songs and / or stories. Each cap includes a resistor or spring pin with a different resistance value, for example, the resistance value of the firefighter hat is 4k ohms, the police hat is 1k ohms, and the construction worker hat is 2k ohms. When the firefighter hat is connected to the housing, the microcontroller reads the resistance value and recognizes that the firefighter hat is connected. The microcontroller triggers the DF player to play the sound, song or story related to the firefighter, and the lighting animation device is illuminated synchronously with it. Thus, the firefighter character is brought to life within the toy 100 through the connection of the firefighter hat. The features and elements of each mode described herein should not be construed as limiting and may be programmed and activated in any combination.
[0059] The toy 100 is also capable of being activated by a remote signal, such as by embedded instructions and / or receiving an activation signal received by a receiver. This received signal is read and transmitted to various elements of the toy to activate the illumination of LEDs (44, 46, 152), emit sounds through the speaker 122, activate the microphone 125 and / or generate bubbles. For example, the microcontroller unit 150 includes a proximity detection device, such as an RFID or other type of electronic device, which senses location, proximity or other wireless instructions to indicate and / or command illumination, sound and / or bubble generation. For example, such a proximity device includes instructions and circuits operable to detect the location relative to the transmitted beacon. For example, the toy automatically activates when it is in proximity to a display, feature, fixed attraction or other location in an amusement park that is transmitting a unique beacon. When received by the toy, it illuminates and / or plays sounds and / or activates in a predetermined manner. Upon receipt of the unique beacon signal, the toy is programmed by instructions stored in the memory to activate and / or play specific pre-recorded or streaming audio signals in a specific manner, which are programmed by the illumination of the first and second LEDs so that the mouth appears to be synchronized with the song or sound playback. Alternatively, the device includes an RFID detector so that once a specific RFID signal is recognized, the toy begins emitting a predetermined sequence of signals. Other implementations may be implemented, such as GPS location detection and determination. Other automatic instructions are also implemented, such as emitting colors, playing predefined audio stored in the toy's memory or received by the toy's receiver, playing signals streamed and received by an integrated receiver, and similar functions.
[0060] In addition, the fixture may include an ultrasonic distance sensor that can detect when a person is standing idly in front of it. When a user is detected, the electronic module is activated and broadcasts a signal or code in a specific vicinity of the toy 100. The code unlocks an effect or feature of the toy, such as activating the lighting animation device 10, generating bubbles, playing sounds, etc. Advantageously, the code sent is an unlock code that unlocks an effect or feature that has been pre-programmed in the toy. The microcontroller unit 150 of the toy is advantageously already programmed with the same first effect or feature. Therefore, the fixture only needs to send a code to unlock the feature in the toy, and does not need to send the entire programming of the feature. In this way, the first feature is unlocked in the toy and activated in the toy. Therefore, the toy sings the same song, tells the same story, illuminates in the same way, etc., as the feature of the first effect, such as the fireman. This first effect is then unlocked indefinitely in the toy and can be replayed by the user at any time and stored in the toy's memory. When the user passes by the second, third, fourth, etc. fixture, this same interaction occurs, and these additional codes are sent to the toy to unlock these additional features, which can all be replayed by the user at any time.
[0061] In addition, the toy 100 includes a transmitter that transmits a signal from the toy to the fixture. For example, if the cap 140 connected to the housing 130 is a police cap, the microcontroller unit 150 detects and recognizes this through the resistance value of the resistor. A corresponding signal is sent to the fixture through the transmitter, which unlocks the police file stored in the integrated circuit in the fixture. The fixture plays a sound or song specific to the police, such as a siren. In addition, the fixture can be animatronic and move according to the sound played to tell a story using the animatronic arms.
[0062] In another embodiment, the microcontroller unit is not stored within the housing, but rather within each unique cap or accessory. This is advantageous because it does not limit the number of pre-recorded songs or stories in the microcontroller unit. Each cap has its own song / sound, so an unlimited number of caps can be connected to the toy. The toy is no longer limited by the pre-programmed aspects of the microcontroller unit. The circuit is closed in the same way that a resistor closes a circuit, so the animated talking device will light up in sync with the sound.
[0063] Those skilled in the art clearly recognize that alternative embodiments disclosed herein as foreseeable alternatives are also included in the present disclosure. The above disclosure is not intended to be interpreted as limiting the embodiments or otherwise excluding such other embodiments, adaptations, changes, modifications and equivalent arrangements.
