Abstract
A probe for an IR or UV sensor is described comprising a light emitter and a detector comprising a lens (2). The detector detects the spectra of the emitted light after it has passed through a gas to be measured (6). The sensor of the present invention is particularly suitable for harsh or aggressive exhaust gas measurement environments, for example in ships, vehicles, chimneys etc., and includes purge gas protections for sensitive optical parts to prevent particles etc. from the exhaust gas from being deposited on the optics. The sensor further has a sample gas flow from the gas to be measured which is adapted so that the purge gas (7) does not interfere with the measurements where the sample gas is separated into at least two flows (6a, 6b, 6c) where one (6c) is adapted to prevent the purge gas from affecting the measurement in a measurement region (5).
