A hybrid coagulating agent based on aluminium-iron silicate and a method of its preparation

Abstract

The present solution provides a hybrid coagulant based on aluminum-iron silicate, where the molar concentration of silicon is in the range of 0.1 to 0.5 mol∙l-1, the molar ratio of the sum of aluminum and iron to silicon is in the range of 1:0.5 to 1:1.5, the molar ratio of aluminum to iron is in the range of 0.5:1 to 5:1, and a method of its preparation by mixing hydrated aluminum sulfate, hydrated iron sulfate and an acidic solution of silicon dioxide.
