AI Technical Summary
Existing methods for recycling waste plastics result in lower quality recycled materials due to the mixing of different plastic types during collection and processing.
A method where plastic waste from processing machines is directly filled into marked receiving containers on each machine, ensuring high-purity waste separation by type, and then transported to specific recycling machines for processing.
This approach ensures a higher quality of recycled plastic raw materials by maintaining the purity of each plastic type throughout the recycling process, making the recycling more efficient and economical.
Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a method for the disposal and recycling of plastic waste and a disposal system for plastic waste.
[0002] Examples of recycling processes are known from DE 198 20 743 A1 and DD 2 60 827 A3.
[0003] Industrial plastic waste is typically collected at the factory where the plastic processing machines are located and placed in transport containers for transport to a recycling facility. There, it is fed into appropriate recycling machines and processed into new plastic raw materials. These are generally of inferior quality because plastic waste of different materials is regularly collected and mixed in the transport containers, and this mixture of materials is fed to the recycling machines. Separating plastic waste into different types before recycling is extremely complex and unprofitable.
[0004] It is therefore an object of the invention to develop a method for the disposal and recycling of plastic waste and a disposal system with which a higher quality of the raw material resulting from recycling is achieved.
[0005] This object is achieved according to the invention by a method having the features of claim 1 and a disposal system having the features of claim 7. Advantageous developments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
[0006] The invention is based on the idea of filling the plastic waste generated at a processing machine directly into receiving containers at the processing machine and labeling these containers according to their contents. Since plastic processing machines generally only process one type of plastic, this achieves a highly pure separation of the waste so that it can also be recycled separately according to type. For this purpose, the data characterizing the plastic waste contained in the respective receiving container is advantageously read out at the recycling facility, and the respective receiving container is assigned to a recycling machine that is equipped to recycle the plastic waste it contains. To avoid errors, each receiving container is advantageously filled with plastic waste at only one processing machine before being transported to the recycling facility. This ensures that the plastic waste contained in this receptacle all comes from one processing machine and is highly sorted.
[0007] It is advisable to print a label on at least one of the processing machines using a printer to identify the plastic waste filled into the respective receptacles. Advantageously, such a printer is located on each processing machine. However, it is also possible to provide pre-printed labels on at least one of the processing machines to identify the plastic waste filled into the respective receptacles. The labels printed or provided on the processing machine can be affixed to the receptacles, inserted into slots on the receptacles, or simply placed in the receptacles.
[0008] The disposal system according to the invention serves in particular to carry out the method described above and comprises a plurality of receiving containers for the plastic waste. It also comprises a marking device on each processing machine for marking the plastic waste received in the receiving containers and transport means for transporting the receiving containers. Finally, it comprises a recycling device for processing the plastic waste transported by the receiving containers, which preferably comprises several recycling machines configured for recycling different types of plastic waste.
[0009] In summary, the invention relates to a method for the disposal and recycling of plastic waste generated at processing machines, wherein an empty receiving container for the plastic waste generated at the processing machine is arranged at each of the processing machines, which container is filled with the plastic waste during operation of the processing machine, wherein each of the receiving containers is provided with the data identifying the plastic waste received in it and wherein the filled receiving containers are transported to a recycling facility and emptied.
