Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a sweat pad for preventing odors.
[0002] Deodorants are commonly used to prevent sweat-induced odors. However, these have the disadvantage that they can cause skin irritation, may contain harmful substances, and are ineffective, especially during strenuous activities.
[0003] Especially in the business world, sweating and the associated odors are often associated with disadvantages. One example is a presentation in a hot and humid conference room in the summer. Even if a jacket is not required for such business meetings, a long shirt is still mandatory.
[0004] When wearing a shirt after strenuous activities or in a sweaty environment, the problem often arises that visible sweat stains can form on the fabric. This can be counteracted by using sweat pads. The disadvantage of such sweat pads, however, is that unpleasant odors can develop.
[0005] DE 20 2006 005 716 U1 discloses a sweat-absorbing hygiene article comprising at least one planar absorbent body, at least one liquid-permeable topsheet, and at least one liquid-impermeable backsheet. The absorbent body consists of at least one layer of a sweat-absorbing mat interspersed with superabsorbent particles. The mat is surrounded by a cover, which consists at least partially of a liquid-permeable material to which liquids hardly or not at all adhere and which allows liquids to pass through it, enabling the absorption or absorption of liquids by the mat contained in the cover and making it more difficult for liquids to escape from the mat. Both the cover and the absorption material of the mat contained in the cover can be mixed with deodorants.
[0006] The object of the present invention was to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art and to provide a sweat pad that prevents or masks unpleasant odors.
[0007] This task is solved by a welding insert according to the claims.
[0008] The sweat pad according to the invention comprises a liquid-permeable contact layer which, when used as intended, is in contact with the skin, an outer layer which is provided with a fragrance substance, a liquid absorption layer which is arranged between the contact layer and the outer layer, and a liquid-impermeable barrier layer arranged between the liquid absorption layer and the outer layer.
[0009] The contact layer is preferably made of a material designed to absorb liquid (sweat) from the skin and transport it to the liquid absorption layer. The contact layer is preferably semipermeable and arranged so that it transports moisture away from the body but does not allow moisture to pass through to the body. Furthermore, the contact layer is preferably made of an elastic fabric and / or an elastic film.
[0010] The contact layer preferably contains materials from the group consisting of sweat-absorbing materials, sweat-binding materials, sweat-inhibiting materials, germ-inhibiting materials, and odor-absorbing materials. The contact layer preferably contains materials from the group consisting of nonwovens, e.g., polyester nonwovens or semipermeable membranes, polyethersulfone, polyacrylonitrile, cellulose acetate, and silicone, on a polymer carrier.
[0011] The fluid absorption layer is designed to absorb and store a fluid (sweat). Suitable layers are known to those skilled in the art and can be found in state-of-the-art sweat insoles.
[0012] The liquid absorption layer preferably contains cellulose materials and / or superabsorbents (polymer salts).
[0013] Since unpleasant odors can develop when fragrances come into contact with sweat, it is preferable that the liquid absorption layer, and especially the contact layer, is free of fragrances.
[0014] The outer layer comprises a base body and fragrances, which are particularly embedded in or applied to this base body. Suitable base bodies include materials from the group of polymers, cellulose, cotton, and paper.
[0015] Suitable fragrances include substances from the group of perfumes, fragrance oils, fragrant plant extracts, fragrance resins and fragrant waxes.
[0016] In a preferred embodiment, the welding insert has at least one adhesive surface with which it can be fixed.
[0017] In a preferred embodiment, the contact layer comprises at least one adhesive surface on its side facing away from the fluid absorption layer, in particular comprising a pressure-sensitive adhesive, by means of which it can be adhered to the skin of a user. This allows for a good fit of the sweat pad on the body.
[0018] In another preferred embodiment, the outer layer comprises at least one adhesive surface, in particular comprising a pressure-sensitive adhesive, on its side facing away from the fluid absorption layer, by means of which it can be adhered to the inside of a garment. In this way, body contact can be ensured without adhering the sweat pad to the skin (e.g., because adhering it would be uncomfortable due to hair on the relevant body part or an intolerance to the adhesive).
[0019] A liquid-impermeable barrier layer is arranged between the liquid absorption layer and the outer layer. Preferred barrier layers contain plastic films, e.g., made of polyolefins such as polyethylene, polypropylene, or cellophane. This barrier layer serves as additional protection against liquid transfer from the liquid absorption layer to the outer layer.
[0020] Of course, it is desirable to make the sweat inlay very thin so that it is unnoticeable. The production of thin layers, especially the fluid absorption layer, is known to those skilled in the art.
[0021] The shape of the sweat pad is, to a first approximation, arbitrary and depends on where it is applied on the body. The sweat pad is preferably designed for application on the armpits, neck, back, chest, stomach, back of the knees, or feet.
[0022] Examples of preferred embodiments of the device according to the invention are shown in the figures. Fig. 1 shows schematically a preferred embodiment of a welding insert. Fig. Figure 2 shows schematically the layering of a preferred embodiment. Fig. 3 shows schematically the layering of another preferred embodiment.
[0023] In Fig. Figure 1 shows a preferred embodiment of a sweat pad, such as one that can be worn under the armpit. The layering, consisting of outer layer 1, fluid absorption layer 2, and contact layer 3, is clearly visible.
[0024] In the Fig. 2 and Fig. Figure 3 shows two preferred embodiments of the layering of welding inserts. For better understanding, it is assumed below that a welding system equipped with the respective layers is worn under clothing.
[0025] The outer layer 1, which is scented and provides a pleasant smell, faces the clothing. Under this layer, the fluid absorption layer 2 captures and stores perspiration that has penetrated the contact layer 3 from the body. The contact layer 3 rests on the body or is adhesively attached to it. The sweat pad is particularly suitable for areas where a lot of sweat is produced, such as under the armpits.
[0026] In Fig. 3 shows an additional barrier layer 4 between outer layer 1 and fluid absorption layer 2, which prevents collected sweat from penetrating the outer layer.
