Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a sealing arrangement for a window pane movably arranged in a vehicle door.
[0002] US 2007 / 0 006 534 A1, on the other hand, discloses a glass guide suitable for mounting in an inner part of a door frame of a vehicle door to guide a window pane when the window pane moves up and down, the glass guide comprising: first and second extruded sections formed by extrusion molding and mounted on upper and vertical side portions of the door frame; and an injection-molded corner portion connecting the first and second extruded portions and mounted on a corner of the door frame; an outer side wall, an inner side wall and a bottom wall, so as to form a substantially U-shaped cross-section; an outer sealing lip and an inner sealing lip, each provided in the outer side wall and the inner side wall and extending toward an inner side of the U-shaped cross section, so that the outer sealing lip and the inner sealing lip each seal an outer surface and an inner surface of a distal portion of the door window glass; and an inner retaining lip provided on an outer surface of the corner portion and arranged in a recess on the door frame, wherein the inner retaining lip is angled according to the angle of the corner section and is L-shaped; wherein a first end of the inner retaining lip at the corner portion merges into an inner retaining lip at the first extruded portion and a second end of the inner retaining lip at the corner portion merges into an inner retaining lip at the second side portion, and a stiffness of the inner retaining lip at the corner section is lower than a stiffness of the inner retaining lips at the first and second extruded section.
[0003] DE 634 860 A discloses that movable legs of a sealing strip have transverse projections in order to increase the contact pressure on the parts to be sealed and to increase the sealing surfaces, which extend in the direction of the opposite movable leg and abut with a transverse projection of the opposite leg or are made of one piece with this leg.
[0004] A sealing arrangement for a window pane is known from DE 10 2006 028 051 B4.
[0005] It is also common practice to provide window panes of motor vehicle doors with rain-repellent elements so that the window panes can be opened at least partially despite rain, without rain penetrating into the vehicle interior, e.g. by running off the roof.
[0006] EP 0 456 952 A1 discloses a rain deflector that can be glued to the upper edge of the door, window pane, etc.
[0007] However, this approach is undesirable and also visually unreasonable.
[0008] The object of the invention is therefore to provide a way to prevent the entry of rain through a partially open window pane of a motor vehicle.
[0009] This object is achieved by the sealing arrangement set out in claim 1.
[0010] A sealing arrangement for a window pane movably arranged in a vehicle door is shown, comprising a base body which has a receiving area for an edge area of the window pane, with an inner web and an outer web which are opposite one another, and with a first web which extends from the outer web from a connection point into the receiving area and rests against an outer side of the window pane when the window pane is closed, wherein a second web extends outwardly from the connection point on the outer web and which has a convex shape so that it forms a rain gutter when the window pane is arranged in its open state, and wherein the second web has a thickening at its outer end directed towards the window pane, and wherein the window pane contacts the first web when running in,so that the second web pivots around the connection point from the convex shape forming the gutter into a contact position in which the second web rests with its thickened portion against the outside of the window pane.
[0011] According to the invention, it has been recognized that if a second web extends outward from the connection point on the outermost of the opposing webs in the sealing arrangement, this web can serve as a rain deflector, since it acts like a gutter and prevents the entry of water from above the window pane, particularly from the vehicle roof, when the window pane is open. The length of the second web can be varied as required, but it will usually be longer than that of the first web.
[0012] In a preferred embodiment, the first web extends into the receiving area when the window pane is open, such that the first web comes into contact with the upper edge of the window pane as the window pane slides in, thus causing the first and second webs to pivot around the connection point. The first web thus acts as a sealing element and, at the same time, as a pivoting lever, which also causes the second web to move around the connection point in a hinge-like manner. Thus, the first and second webs can pivot together around the connection point.
[0013] To improve the seal and at the same time shorten the pivoting path, the second web has a thickening at its outer end directed towards the window pane, which then rests against the window pane when closed, creating the seal.
[0014] To improve the gutter function, the second web has a convex shape (facing outwards).
[0015] The second bar also rests against the outside of the window pane when the window pane is closed. Thus, both bars rest against the outside of the window pane when closed, creating the desired labyrinth seal.
[0016] In order to improve the pivoting movement of the webs, it is useful if the connection point has a constriction directed towards the receiving area.
[0017] Further features and details of the invention will become apparent from the following description of the drawings. They show: Fig. 1 a schematic view of a section through the upper edge area of a vehicle door of a passenger car in the open position of the window pane and Fig. 2 a schematic view of a section through the upper edge area of a vehicle door from Fig. 1 in the closed position of the window pane.
[0018] The sealing arrangement shown in the figures comprises a base body 2, which has a receiving area 3. The receiving area 3 is formed by a section of the base body 2 that is essentially U-shaped in cross-section, with the base body 2 comprising an inner web 21 and an outer web 22. In the exemplary embodiment, the webs 21 and 22 have different dimensions and shapes.
[0019] A first web 4 extends from the outer of the opposing webs 22 from a narrowed connection point 10 into the receiving area 3 and lies in the closed state of the window pane 1 ( Fig. 2) on an outer side of the window pane 1.
[0020] A second web 5 also extends on the outer of the opposite webs 22 from the connection point 10, but outwards.
[0021] The first web 4 protrudes when the window pane is open ( Fig. 1) into the receiving area 3 in such a way that the first web 5 comes into contact with the upper edge area 1a of the window pane 1 when the window pane 1 is inserted, thus causing a pivoting movement of the first web 4 and the second web 5 around the connection point 10. Thus, both webs 4, 5 are in the closed state of the window pane 1 ( Fig. 2) as a labyrinth seal on the outside.
[0022] For this purpose, the second web 5 has a thickening 6 at its outer end directed in the direction of the window pane 1.
[0023] The connection point 10 has a constriction E directed towards the receiving area 3 in order to simplify the movement of the two webs 4, 5.
[0024] The second web 5 has a convex shape so that it better fulfils its gutter function by guiding water in the recess formed by the convex shape.
[0025] The sealing arrangement 1 and in particular the base body 2, as in DE 10 2006 028 051 B4, further comprise a curved sealing element 23, which rests with its surface 23a against an inner side of the window pane 1 when a window pane moves into the closed state.
[0026] In the base body 2, a further receiving area A is formed, in which a body flange K of the vehicle door is received.
[0027] In the figure, this body flange K comprises a tapered area 71 which extends into the receiving area A and is sealed.
