Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a push container for a beverage station.
[0002] When preparing individual beverages, as occurs, for example, in coffee kitchens, lounges, or company meeting rooms, it is important to efficiently store a multitude of ingredients such as coffee capsules, tea bags, milk cans / jugs, sugar packets, etc., and accessories such as spoons, cups, glasses, straws, plates, etc. Where possible, a simple, easy-to-follow organizational system should be established so that all necessary components have a place and can be easily found by users and subsequent users. Coffee stations, for example, are well-known in practice. These usually consist of a space designated for a thermos flask or a coffee machine and an open box system adjacent to it, in which the other ingredients and accessories are stored openly and visibly. On the one hand, this is disadvantageous from an aesthetic point of view, and on the other, ingredients and accessories are poorly protected from dust or other contamination when stored this way. Furthermore, it is desirable, especially with expensive capsules for the corresponding coffee machines, to have a certain level of access control so that, for example, a sufficient supply is still available for catering during a visit from company guests.
[0003] US 2014 / 0091685 A1 shows a spice rack comprising a housing and a plurality of spice drawers. The spice drawers have several compartments, which are specifically designed to allow the storage of and access to differently shaped spice or other containers of different sizes. The compartments are permanently integrated into the drawers, which prevents the compartments from being used as portable storage systems and makes cleaning the drawers or replacing compartments that are defective or unsuitable for the intended purpose difficult.
[0004] It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide an alternative push container for a beverage station.
[0005] This object is achieved by a push container according to claim 1, a push container set according to claim 9, a beverage station according to claim 10 and the use of a push container according to claim 11.
[0006] The drawer unit according to the invention comprises a housing and a number of drawers, at least one drawer having a drawer bottom, a drawer front, and two drawer sides. A threshold is formed on the inside of the drawer bottom, extending a short distance from and parallel to the drawer front and spaced at each end from the drawer side walls.
[0007] The inventive equipping of the drawer with such a threshold allows for the insertion of an insert with compartments for organizing various components into the drawer—as will be described in more detail later—in such a way that it fits loosely between the drawer front and the threshold, preventing the insert from slipping within the drawer. This ensures quick access to ingredients or accessories stored in the insert. On the other hand, the insert can be lifted out of the drawer at any time, making it temporarily usable as an open storage or serving container.
[0008] Further particularly advantageous embodiments and developments of the invention emerge from the dependent claims and the following description, wherein the independent claims of one claim category can also be developed analogously to the dependent claims of another claim category and, in particular, individual features of different embodiments can be combined to form new embodiments.
[0009] In a preferred embodiment, the housing has opposing side walls, which have a number of parallel, opposing rails arranged in pairs, and a number of support struts arranged between the rails. The number of drawers is guided in the rails. Furthermore, at least one of the drawers has a lock that cooperates positively with a support strut to lock the drawer, for example, by a blocking element, in particular a bolt, of the lock interacting positively with this support strut.
[0010] In addition to the side walls, the housing preferably also comprises a ceiling wall, a floor opposite the ceiling wall, and a rear wall. These preferably firmly connected housing components essentially form a cuboid shape that is open towards the front. The rails are preferably manufactured in one piece with the side walls and supports and, when a drawer container is set up as intended, are arranged horizontally facing one another on the inside of the side walls. The rails and the support struts, which can preferably be connected to one another, e.g., to form a type of framework, allow the side walls to be advantageously designed to be thin without any loss of stability, thereby resulting in overall weight and material savings. In addition, the weight of the drawers resting on the rails can be advantageously distributed by the support struts. This means that the side walls are not subjected to a load only in the respective area of the rail, but rather the load is distributed as evenly as possible over a larger area. These support struts are preferably used in a dual role, interacting with a lock in a drawer to secure it (when the lock is locked) against being pulled out. It is therefore not necessary to incorporate additional grooves or other locking elements into a side wall of the housing, with which, for example, the locking element of the lock could interact. This makes the production of the drawer container more cost-effective and, in particular, also allows for the retrofitting of existing drawer containers with one or more drawers with appropriate locks.
[0011] The drawers have a box shape with a drawer base, a drawer front with opposing drawer backs, and two opposing drawer side walls. Suitable guide elements are arranged on the outside of the drawer side walls, which interact positively with the rails of the housing to provide linear guidance for the drawer. Using the rails, the drawers can be pulled out horizontally when the drawer unit is set up as intended. Preferably, the drawer fronts together form the front of the drawer unit. If all the drawers are in a closed position, the drawer unit as a whole is essentially closed, i.e. apart from any interventions to open the drawers. It therefore has a tidy and therefore aesthetically pleasing shape.
[0012] With the help of a lock or multiple locks, it is possible to lock one or more closed drawers and thus protect them from unauthorized opening. In a closed locking position, a blocking element of the lock, for example a bolt, preferably engages behind a suitable support strut of the housing. It thus interacts in positive contact with the side of the corresponding support strut facing away from the drawer front and thus locks or arrests the drawer in the locked position against movement in the extension direction. To lock and unlock, i.e. to engage or release the positive lock, the lock can be designed as a combination lock, although a standard key is preferably used for this purpose. The lock can, for example, be in the form of a cylinder lock.
[0013] In order to achieve further improved organization, the drawer container according to the invention is preferably part of a drawer container set. This has at least a first drawer with a removable insert therein and preferably also a second drawer with a removable tray that matches the dimensions of the second drawer. “Matching the dimensions” means that the second drawer is preferably designed to be flat to save space, so that the tray, which is also preferably flat, has just enough room in it for storage and can be easily removed for serving. The first drawer is preferably larger than the second and thus also offers more storage space for ingredients and / or accessories. The insert arranged therein preferably has a plurality of compartments, i.e. compartments separated from one another, for example by partitions or bars, in order to be able to organize the different components. The drawer insert can be conveniently removed to display the accessories it contains. Ideally, the drawer container set also includes additional drawers with inserts, allowing a variety of ingredients and accessories to be stored during use.
[0014] The beverage station according to the invention mentioned above comprises at least one push-container set according to the invention and a beverage dispensing device. The beverage station can be operated in a mobile manner, for example on a serving trolley, or stationary on any storage surface such as a table, a sideboard, a dresser, a buffet, or the like. Depending on requirements and the number of people to be served, it can also have two or more push-container sets and / or multiple beverage dispensing devices. The latter can be designed as simple beverage dispensers such as a thermos flask or the like. However, they are preferably beverage preparation devices such as a fully automatic coffee machine or a single-serve coffee machine for pads or capsules.By combining conveniently organized, easily accessible accessories, additional ingredients within easy reach, and matching beverage dispensing equipment or beverage preparation equipment, the beverage station according to the invention results in a synergistic arrangement with which beverages can be prepared and, if necessary, served quickly and efficiently.
[0015] The drawer unit according to the invention preferably has dimensions and a weight such that it can be placed on a variety of flat surfaces, such as serving trolleys, tables, sideboards, dressers, or the like. The drawer unit can thus be used effectively in a wide variety of locations and in combination with numerous other components.
[0016] Preferably, a drawer container according to the invention is used as a component of a beverage station. During operation, accessories and / or ingredients used to prepare and / or serve beverages are stored in the drawers. A simple operator thus has access to all unlocked drawers and can use their contents for beverage preparation. In contrast, a suitably authorized operator can also open the locked drawers, possibly with the aid of a key, to access the special, reserved contents, such as more expensive premium coffee capsules and the like. In principle, however, it is also possible to use the drawer container according to the invention with the lock for other purposes, in particular as a storage system on a desk. For example, the drawer unit can also be particularly well-suited for storing an employee's personal belongings and / or work equipment, with secure data and / or valuables being stored in the locked drawers. Since the drawer unit is quite lightweight, as explained above, particularly due to its relatively thin walls, which are preferably made of plastic, it is also a good idea to assign such drawer units to individual employees who can change their workstations or desks daily.
[0017] In principle, a lock can be arranged on each of the drawers. However, if, for example, an upper drawer not secured by a lock were to be pulled out, it could also be removed, making it possible to access the drawer below it, which is actually secured with a lock. Therefore, in a preferred embodiment of a drawer container according to the invention, at least the uppermost drawer has a lock. Drawers arranged further down can also have locks. However, if there are a number of upper drawers, i.e., all upper drawers, each drawer preferably has a lock.
[0018] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the lock has a cranked rotary latch. The lock therefore has the form of a cylinder lever lock, in which the lever or rotary latch is preferably designed to protrude towards the drawer front. For this purpose, it is particularly preferably double-angled towards the front such that the fixed and free ends each extend in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation, and the double angulation is achieved via a central piece connecting both ends. In a locked position, the rotary latch preferably projects through an opening in one of the side walls of the drawer and engages behind a front support strut of the housing. Due to the special shape of the rotary latch, a conventional standard lock can be installed in the largely standardized drawer container with equally largely standardized drawers. This also allows the already established manufacturing processes to be retained as far as possible in a cost-effective manner.
[0019] In an advantageous embodiment of a sliding container according to the invention, the lock comprises a damping element arranged between a rotary latch and a locking cylinder cover. While this damping element does not completely eliminate any play in the lock, it dampens it to such an extent that rattling is avoided and the lock offers a more premium feel when operated. A rubber element, preferably an O-ring, can serve as a damping element, for example, and is simply inserted between the rotary latch and the locking cylinder cover during assembly.
[0020] As described above, according to the invention, a threshold is formed on the inside of at least one drawer on the drawer base, which threshold extends a short distance from the drawer front and parallel to it and is spaced at the ends from the drawer side walls. The short distance between the inside of the drawer front and the edge of the threshold facing the drawer front is preferably at least 9 mm. Preferably, it is a maximum of 12 mm. The distance is particularly preferably 9.5 mm. The end distance of the threshold from the inside of the drawer side walls is preferably at least 45 mm. Preferably, it is a maximum of 50 mm. The distance is particularly preferably 46 mm.
[0021] The threshold according to the invention is preferably manufactured in one piece with the floor and has the shape of a wave or bulge. It thus forms a linear section raised above the rest of the floor, which can act as a positive fit, as described below.
[0022] In an advantageous embodiment, the drawer container according to the invention, as already mentioned, comprises an insert which has smaller dimensions than the drawer, wherein in particular the length of this insert (seen in the direction of insertion of the drawer) can be considerably shorter (preferably somewhat longer or somewhat shorter than 2 / 3 of the drawer length, particularly preferably approximately 2 / 3 of the drawer length) than the interior of the drawer in this direction. This insert has a base on which a shoulder is formed in an edge region, which shoulder runs at least partially around at least one edge (or side of the insert). This shoulder has an internal dimension which is greater than the length of the threshold of the drawer base. “Partially around” means that the shoulder runs at least in the corner regions of the edges orsides extends a little further into the edge area of the adjacent edge, whereby the aforementioned internal dimension of the shoulder is produced between the bends following the course of the corners. The shoulder or wave therefore forms a type of circumferential frame on this edge. Preferably, however, all sides are ring-shaped and surrounded by the shoulder. With the help of this bead-like, at least partially circumferential wave, the insert can now engage loosely and form-fittingly between the drawer front and the threshold when it is inserted into a drawer with the previously described threshold according to the invention on the drawer base. This results in a certain amount of play, which is, however, limited towards the front, i.e. towards the drawer front, by a front wall. Precise insertion of the insert is therefore not necessary. As long as the loose form fit with the drawer threshold is achieved, the insert, even though it is shorter than the drawer, cannot slip arbitrarily within the drawer, especially towards the back, but is held within certain limits in the center of the front area of the drawer. This is desirable in order to have quick access to ingredients and accessories stored in the insert, preferably those that are used frequently. On the other hand, such a shorter insert can be more easily lifted out of the drawer and temporarily used as an open storage or serving container for small items such as sugar, milk capsules, coffee capsules (if preferred in a drinks station) or for other small utensils such as paper clips, business cards, etc. on a table and can be quickly stowed away in the corresponding drawer after use.In the free areas of the drawer, especially in the rear area, less frequently used components can be stored.
[0023] The features of the drawer container described above in conjunction with a threshold on the inside of the drawer bottom do have an advantageous effect in themselves, but they work particularly favorably together with the other developments of the invention described above and below.
[0024] In an advantageous development of the invention, the insert has outer walls and a number of webs. These divide the insert into compartments and are connected to the outer walls only in a lower region. "Lower region" means that the connection point extends over less than one-third, preferably less than one-fifth, and particularly preferably less than one-eighth of the web height. This largely avoids the disadvantage frequently encountered in injection molding processes, namely thermal stresses or deformations in areas of material agglomerations during cooling after injection molding.
[0025] In principle, it is not necessary for a drawer to be guided in each of the rails formed on the side walls of the housing. Rather, it is also possible to incorporate a variable number of drawers with the desired drawer height into the drawer container as required. Therefore, in a drawer container according to the invention, the rails are preferably arranged at a distance from one another in a grid dimension. Furthermore, the height of the drawers essentially corresponds to a multiple of the grid dimension, so that a closed drawer front can be formed when all drawers are inserted. The grid dimension means that the rails are arranged equidistantly, so that, for example, even a drawer guided on two rails on each side can be easily adjusted in height. A multiple of the grid dimension is understood here to be the distance between two rails multiplied by a positive integer factor, i.e. 1, 2, 3,...This results in a multitude of combination options for arranging a variable number of drawers, each with the desired drawer height and position in the drawer unit - also under the condition that a common, closed front of the drawer unit is formed with the help of the drawer fronts.
[0026] The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying figures using exemplary embodiments. In the various figures, identical components are provided with identical reference numerals. The figures are generally not to scale. Relative directions in the description always refer to a properly installed push-to-load container. The schematic illustrations show: Fig. 1 a perspective view of an embodiment of a drawer container according to the invention with an open upper drawer, Fig. 2 a perspective view of the push container from Fig. 1, but with open lower drawer, Fig. 3 a top view of the push container from Fig. 1, but without stake, Fig. 4 a plan view of a similar push container as in Fig. 3, but with stake, Fig. 5 a sectional view of the lock of the push container from Fig. 1, Fig. 6 a sectional view of the upper drawer and insert of the drawer container from Fig. 1 and Fig. 7 a bottom view of the insert Fig. 4 and Fig. 6.
[0027] In the Fig. 1 and Fig. Figure 2 shows an example of a drawer container 1 according to the invention in perspective. Both figures are described together below, as they only differ in which drawer is extended. Relative directional information such as horizontal, vertical, front, rear, and the like refer below to a drawer container 1 that is set up as intended, with the drawer side representing a front or front side 7 of the drawer container 1. The drawer container 1 comprises a housing 2 and four drawers 10, 11, 12. The housing has two opposite side walls 3, a rear wall 6, a top wall 4, and a base 5 that is opposite the top wall 4 and on which the drawer container 1 is set up as intended. The housing has a cuboid shape that is open towards the front side 7.
[0028] The ceiling wall 4 has a matte, i.e., slightly roughened, rear area 4a on the outside and a smooth, high-gloss area 4b at the front. The high-gloss area 4b is particularly easy to clean, for example, by wiping, while the rear area serves as a drain guard or anti-slip area in a peripheral area to the side walls 3 in the form of a narrow strip extending to the front 7. The high-gloss area 4b is thus enclosed on three sides by the matte, rear area 4a, preventing objects placed on the ceiling wall 4 during operation from slipping and possibly falling.
[0029] The side walls 3 each have ten rails 8 on their mutually facing inner sides as well as a number of support struts 9 in the form of rectangular profiles, which are located opposite each other on both side walls 3. The rails 8 are each connected in the area of the front side 7 with a vertical support strut 9 arranged on the underside. Inside the push-together container 1, further vertical and also diagonal support struts (in Fig. 1 not shown; here only the support struts 9 arranged at the front edge of the side walls 3, i.e., at the opening of the housing 2, are shown. Due to this arrangement, the support struts distribute a weight bearing on the rail 8 evenly over the side walls 3. The rails 8 and the support struts 9 are arranged equidistantly, i.e., at equal intervals, between the ceiling wall 4 and the floor 5 in a grid dimension RM.
[0030] The drawers 10, 11, 12 are guided in or on the rails 8. Each drawer comprises a drawer bottom 10b, two opposite drawer sides 10c and a drawer front 10a with a trapezoidal opening 25 arranged centrally and on the top (see Fig. 3, Fig. 4 and Fig. 6), which is opposite a drawer back (not shown here). Overall, the drawers 10, 11, 12 therefore have a box shape that is open at the top. The drawer front 10a projects slightly over the drawer sides 10c, thus forming a stop edge for the side walls 3 of the drawer container 1. The upper drawers 10, 11 have a height that is three times the grid dimension RM, while the lower, flat drawer is only one grid dimension RM high. Outward-facing guide elements 24 in the form of rectangular profiles are arranged on the drawer sides 10c and connected to the drawer sides 10c. The lower and flat drawer 12 has a guide element for each drawer side 12c, which is arranged in an upper area of the drawer side 12c.In contrast, the upper and higher drawers 10, 11 have two guide elements 24 per drawer side 10c for better weight distribution, one being arranged in the upper area of the drawer side 10c and the other being slightly spaced from the drawer bottom 10b.
[0031] The top drawer 10 also includes a lock in the form of a cylinder lock 13 (see Fig. 1). The cylinder lock 13 is located in the upper right corner of the front panel 10a and is operated by Fig. 5 described in detail. Furthermore, an insert 18 is inserted into the top drawer 10 in the front area (see Fig. 1). This can be removed from the drawer 10 and is secured against slipping in the drawer 10, as can be seen from the Fig. 3, Fig. 4 and Fig. 6 is explained in more detail. The lower drawer 12 contains a tray 23 (see Fig. 2), whose dimensions are only slightly smaller than the inner dimensions of the drawer 12. This can also be removed from the drawer 12 for serving. In the Fig. 1 and Fig. The drawer container 1 shown in Figure 2 contains a tray 23 in the lower drawer 12 and an insert 18 in the upper drawer 10. Together with this additional equipment, the drawer container 1 is also referred to as a drawer container set 22.
[0032] Fig. 3 shows a top view of the push container from the Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, but without insert 18 in the upper drawer 10. In the front area of the drawer 10, adjacent to the drawer front 10a, a straight threshold 17 with a length L is formed in the drawer bottom 10b, parallel to the drawer front 10a. It rises from the drawer bottom 10b with a substantially semicircular cross-section and ends rounded on both sides at a distance from the drawer sides 10c. Furthermore, the drawer bottom 10b is preferably flat.
[0033] In Fig. 4 is a similar top view as in Fig. 3, but here an insert 18 is inserted into the drawer 10. This insert 18 is in Fig. 7 from below. As can be seen here, the insert 18 has a circumferential shoulder 19, here in the form of a circumferential threshold 19, on the outside of its base 18b at a short distance from the edges, i.e. the outer sides of the side walls 18a. The distance between two sections of this shoulder 19 or threshold running along opposite side walls is (slightly) greater than the length L of the threshold 17 of the drawer base 10b. The distance is thus referred to as the internal dimension L' of this shoulder 19 along an edge, i.e. along a side wall 18a, between the sections that bend at the corners. The insert 18 can therefore be placed in the drawer 10 in such a way that the threshold 17 engages behind the section of the shoulder 19 or threshold on the outside of the base of the insert 18, which section runs along the edge facing the front of the drawer 10.
[0034] With the help of the threshold 17 of the drawer bottom 10b, the insert is essentially held in the position shown here and cannot slide backwards in the drawer 10. However, the form fit with the threshold 17 is loose enough that a certain amount of play exists with the drawer sides 10c and also with the drawer front 10a. Due to this play, the insert 18 does not have to be positioned exactly in the drawer 10 when inserted, but an approximate insertion is sufficient to achieve the loose form fit. The insert 18 has an insert bottom 18b and four essentially vertical outer walls 18a arranged in pairs opposite one another, forming an essentially square shape with rounded corners. Four thin, but flat, vertical webs 20 are formed within the insert 18 as intermediate walls. They each extend parallel to a first outer wall 18a and are connected at one end perpendicularly to a second outer wall 18a, which is adjacent to the first outer wall 18a. The other end in each case meets perpendicularly and approximately centrally the next web 20 and is connected to it. This creates four rectangular compartments 21 and a central square compartment 21 adjacent to the outer walls 18a. In addition, a sectional plane S is shown here, which extends vertically and in a direction from the front 7 to the rear 6 of the push container 1. The push container 1 is attached to this for the purposes shown in . Fig. 5 shown. Preferably, the insert contains a small waste bin as a separate part, the external dimensions of which are selected such that it fits, preferably precisely, in the central compartment 21 of the insert 18, and whose height projects beyond the insert 18 by a maximum of such a distance that the insert 18 can still be pushed into the drawer with the waste bin inserted.
[0035] Fig. 5 shows a detailed view of the rotary cylinder lock 13 of the push container 1 from the Fig. 1 to 4. The rotary cylinder lock 13 comprises a locking cylinder casing 16, in which a locking cylinder is arranged coaxially and rotatably mounted. The locking cylinder casing 16 is essentially cylindrical in shape, but flattened on two sides to prevent it from rotating. With the flattened sides, it engages with a form-fitting fit in a suitably shaped recess in the drawer front 10a. On the outward-facing side of the drawer front 10a, a head piece is formed on the locking cylinder casing 16, which projects radially over the recess in the drawer front 10a and, like a truncated cone, is raised slightly above the drawer front 10a, tapering to a certain extent.
[0036] The locking cylinder sleeve 16 has a thread on its radial outer side, which is secured to the inside of the drawer front 10a by means of a nut 26. Thus secured, the locking cylinder is rotatably mounted relative to the drawer 10. It has a keyhole (not shown here) on the outside of the drawer front 10a and is screwed to a rotary latch 14 at its inner end. Radially enclosing the locking cylinder, a rubber O-ring is arranged axially between the locking cylinder sleeve 16 and the rotary latch 14 as a damping element 15.
[0037] The rotary latch 14 is cranked. It projects slightly forward toward the drawer front 10a in a double-angled, slanted section 28. The rotary latch 14 is in the locking position VP, in which it is arranged horizontally and protrudes through an opening 27 in the front right-hand side wall 10c of the drawer 10. With its semicircular end 29 protruding through the opening 27, it engages behind the corresponding front support strut 9 of the housing 2. Due to the cranked shape of the rotary latch 14, it is also possible, with the installed standard lock, to advantageously position the semicircular end 29 close to the support strut 9, so that the closed drawer 10 with the rotary latch 14 in the locking position VP can be opened with as little effort as possible. The lock 13 can be operated using a key. When the key is turned in the lock 13, the rotary bolt 14 connected to the locking cylinder also turns. From the locking position VP, the rotary latch 14 can be moved into an unlocked position in which it is arranged substantially horizontally.
[0038] As described above, the insert 18 is held centrally by the sill 17. This provides enough space within the drawer 10 next to the insert 18 to accommodate the rotary latch 14. With the rotary latch 14 in the unlocked position, the drawer 10 is no longer locked, allowing it to be opened and closed as needed.
[0039] In Fig. 6 is a sectional view of the upper drawer 10 with the Fig.4. Due to the loose form fit between the threshold 17 and the circumferential shoulder 19 on the insert base 18b, the insert 18 can only slide a small distance towards the drawer front 10a until it abuts against it with its front outer wall 18a. Slipping backwards is prevented by the threshold 17, as it blocks the shoulder 19 in this direction. Not shown is the lateral form fit between the annular circumferential shoulder 19 and the threshold 17, which prevents lateral slipping of the insert 18 beyond the play defined by the form fit.
[0040] The web 20 arranged in the insert 18 is connected to the insert base 18b over its entire length. However, the web 20 has only one connection point 21 to the front outer wall 18a of the insert 18 in a lower area close to the insert base 18b and is free-standing upwards beyond the connection point 21.
[0041] In summary, the present invention provides a drawer unit and a beverage station comprising such a drawer unit, in which ingredients and accessories for preparing and serving beverages can be stored in an orderly manner. The inserts or tray contained therein can be conveniently removed for this purpose. The drawer unit has at least one lockable drawer to reserve certain components for authorized operators. These features enable a tidier, more aesthetically pleasing, and more functional storage space, and in particular, a more functional catering area, than previously possible. Finally, it should be noted that the devices described in detail above are merely exemplary embodiments that can be modified in a variety of ways by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the invention. For example, contrary to what is shown in the figures, several drawers could be equipped with a lock, although these should always be the topmost drawers. Likewise, different drawers could contain different inserts, for example, with different dimensions and / or compartment layouts. Furthermore, the use of the indefinite articles "a" or "an" does not preclude the possibility that the respective features may be present multiple times. Likewise, the term "arrangement" does not preclude the respective component from consisting of several interacting subcomponents, which may also be spatially distributed.
