Description

[0001] The invention relates to a subframe for a motor vehicle and a motor vehicle with such a subframe.

[0002] Such a subframe, sometimes also called a subframe or axle carrier, is essentially a support or bearing point for chassis components and assemblies, which are subsequently connected to the body along with the assemblies attached to them. Such a subframe usually has a supporting structure on which several brackets, i.e. connection points, for the chassis in the form of control arm mounts as well as for the connection of assemblies or assembly mounts are provided. When designing such a subframe, it is therefore important to design the geometric layout of the supporting structure in such a way that, on the one hand, it meets all requirements with regard to mechanical strength, etc., and, on the other hand, all necessary bracket points, where brackets are needed, are captured in their spatial position by their course. However, this sometimes leads to problems because either there is not enough space on the vehicle to position the console points accordingly or the force introduction point is unfavorable.

[0003] From CN 206598881 U, a subframe for a vehicle is known, on which several brackets are distributed. Two brackets for mounting the chassis control arms are arranged adjacent to each other in such a way that the screw or pivot axes run parallel to each other, but are offset in height. The bracket walls are formed by corresponding welded metal sheets. Two bracket walls, which are arranged virtually one above the other, are formed by a common welded metal sheet.

[0004] A subframe known from DE 10 2016 000 670 B3 has various mounting and connection points for control arms and components. One of the bracket wings of a control arm bracket forms an assembly section on which a bearing mount is formed. The bracket wing is designed as a formed sheet metal part that forms a connecting contour for attaching the bearing and is part of a node part designed as a welded assembly.

[0005] Finally, DE 41 27 037 A1 discloses a subframe with a console for a handlebar connection, wherein the console is formed only by a console wing or a console wall and the screw defining the pivot axis engages through the supporting structure, which is formed by a supporting tube.

[0006] DE 601 14 664 T2 describes a subframe module for an independent front wheel suspension. The subframe has two side members and two cross members configured to receive first and second lower suspension control arms and first and second upper suspension control arms, and the first cross member is configured to receive a first end of a support rod, the support rod having a second end coupled to a frame of the motor vehicle. The suspension control arms provide means for attaching steering knuckles on each side of the vehicle and for adjusting the vehicle wheels. A provided bracket serves to receive a leg of a suspension control arm. The subframe also supports the steering linkage, which includes outer tie rods and a cantilever arm, a cross link, and an angle lever.

[0007] DE 10 2005 017 031 A1 describes a subframe for motor vehicles designed as a subframe, with lateral subframe longitudinal members as first and second subframe longitudinal members, between which a subframe cross member runs and between which a flat stiffening element is arranged. The flat stiffening element is triangular in shape, wherein the stiffening element, when mounted on the subframe, is connected to the subframe cross member by a first triangular tip region, to the first subframe longitudinal member by a second triangular tip region, and to the second subframe longitudinal member by a third triangular tip region. Such a triangular construction provides good stiffening of the subframe while forming a shear field.

[0008] The invention is based on the problem of providing an improved subframe with a compact console arrangement.

[0009] To solve this problem, according to the invention, a subframe for a motor vehicle is provided, having a supporting structure on which at least one first bracket for supporting an assembly and at least one second bracket for supporting a control arm is provided, wherein each bracket is formed by two bracket walls and a screw or pivot axis runs through each pair of bracket walls, wherein the brackets arranged adjacent to one another are arranged such that the screw or pivot axes are at an angle of 45° to 90° to one another, wherein one bracket wall of the first bracket forms an end wall connecting the two bracket walls of the second bracket.

[0010] The subframe according to the invention has at least one control arm mounting bracket and at least one assembly mounting bracket, wherein both brackets and thus mounting points are arranged adjacent to one another but are oriented differently in space. This means that their screw or pivot axes neither coincide nor run parallel to one another, but are at an angle of 45° - 90° to one another. As explained, each bracket is formed by two bracket walls running essentially parallel to one another. One bracket wall of the first bracket, i.e. the assembly mounting bracket, forms an end wall of the second bracket, i.e. the control arm mounting bracket, wherein this end wall connects both bracket walls of this second bracket. This means that a bracket section of the first bracket can also be assigned to the second bracket and closes it off. This design makes it possible to arrange the two brackets close together and compactly, essentially functionally linking them. This is because the two brackets are extremely stable thanks to the single shared bracket wall, which forms a bracket wall of the first bracket and simultaneously an end wall or connecting wall of the second bracket. The two bracket walls of the second bracket and the one bracket wall of the first bracket, which forms the end wall, are at an appropriate angle to each other and are firmly connected. This results in a mechanically extremely stable wall connection, which ensures high stability for both brackets and thus for the entire bracket arrangement.

[0011] The inventive design of the subframe with respect to the console design therefore makes it possible to arrange two consoles with differently aligned screw or pivot axes very compactly to one another in an extremely compact construction, while at the same time ensuring high stability of the console arrangement and the possibility of forming the console walls from relatively simple, thin-walled sheet metal elements.

[0012] According to a first alternative of the invention, the end wall can be formed by a separate wall element, i.e. the common wall, which is part of both brackets, is a separate sheet metal component that is mounted or welded separately.

[0013] A practical alternative, however, provides for the end wall to be formed by a bent section of one of the two console walls of the second console. This means that to form this common wall, the second console has at least one L-shaped wall element, with one leg forming the console wall of the second console and the other, angled leg forming the end wall and thus the console wall of the first console. In this context, it is of course also conceivable for the entire second console to consist of a one-piece U-shaped wall element, with the middle leg of this U-component forming the end wall and thus the common console wall of the first console.

[0014] The console walls themselves, as already described, are formed from sheet metal parts welded to the supporting structure. They can be assembled either as individual sheet metal parts or, if necessary, as combined sheet metal parts in an L- or U-shape.

[0015] In addition to the subframe itself, the invention further relates to a motor vehicle comprising at least one subframe of the type described.

[0016] Further advantages and individual components of the invention will become apparent from the exemplary embodiment described below and from the drawings. These show: Fig. 1 a perspective view of a subframe according to the invention, Fig. 2 a perspective view of the subframe Fig. 1 from the other side, Fig. 3 an enlarged view of the area of the first and second console, and Fig. 4 a sectional view through the console arrangement from Fig. 3.

[0017] Fig. 1 shows a subframe 1 according to the invention, comprising a supporting structure 2, e.g., made of a support tube, on which, in the exemplary embodiment shown, a first bracket 3, which serves to receive and support an assembly, and a second bracket 4, which serves to receive or support an axle guide, are formed.

[0018] Each console consists of two console walls, as in particular the Fig. 3 and Fig. 4. Thus, the bracket 3 consists of a first bracket wall 5 and a second bracket wall 6, through which a screw or pivot axis 7 runs. In the illustrated embodiment, a screw 8 is already inserted, which secures a bearing element 9 to which the unit is to be attached. A bearing core is already installed here.

[0019] The console 4, on the other hand, also consists of two essentially parallel console walls 10, 11, whereby no screw connection has yet been made here, but the corresponding passages 12, 13 are shown, through which the axis defined by the screw connection, here the pivot axis 14, runs.

[0020] It is evident, see in particular Fig. 4, the screw or pivot axes 7 and 14 are at an angle to each other, with this angle being between 45° and 90°. In this case, it is approximately in the range of approximately 90°.

[0021] What is essential in the console arrangement is that the second console wall 6 of the first console 3 simultaneously forms part of the second console 4 by representing an end wall connecting the two console walls 10, 11, as in particular Fig.3. This means that the two console walls 10, 11 are mechanically firmly connected to one another via this common console wall 6, which leads to a particularly rigid design of this console arrangement, since both consoles 3, 4 are ultimately mechanically stiffened via this common console wall 6 and its connection to the two other console walls 10, 11.

[0022] The first console wall 5, for example, is a separate sheet metal part that is welded to the support structure 2. The two console walls 10, 11 can also be separate sheet metal components that are welded to the support structure 2. Finally, the common console wall 6 can also be a separate sheet metal component that is welded separately to the support structure 2 and to the two console walls 10, 11. Alternatively, it is conceivable for this console wall 6 to be designed as a single piece with one of the console walls 10, 11 and to be bent accordingly via an angled portion, depending on the desired angle to be set between the consoles 3, 4 or the screw or pivot axes 7, 14.
