Description

[0001] The invention relates to a device for packing packaging units in collection containers with stacking tabs, comprising at least one first conveyor for providing at least two packaging units next to one another, at least one second conveyor for providing empty collection containers, at least one automatic positioning unit, wherein the packaging units provided next to one another by the first conveyor are automatically positioned by the positioning unit in the collection containers next to one another provided by the second conveyor, and at least one third conveyor for transporting away the packaging units packed in collection containers, as well as a method for packing packaging units in collection containers with stacking tabs, in particular with such a device.

[0002] Open-top collection containers for packaging units are typically equipped with so-called stacking tabs for stacking the containers on top of each other. These stacking tabs form surfaces arranged on the sides of the container opening on which additional collection containers can be placed. The stacking tabs reduce the size of the container opening, allowing the storage area for packaging units in the collection container to be larger and accommodate more packaging units than can fit through the container opening from above. For this reason, such collection containers are still mostly loaded by hand.

[0003] A device for automatically filling such collection containers is known, for example, from EP 2 947 018 A1. The device described here is used to pack triangular, prism-shaped packaging units in boxes with stacking flaps. In the device described, a turning platform is provided as the first conveyor, on which the packaging units are placed side by side. A second conveyor is also provided to provide empty boxes. The packaging units placed side by side by the first conveyor are automatically positioned by a positioning unit designed as a robot arm into the boxes placed by the second conveyor, beneath the stacking flaps. Furthermore, the full boxes are removed from the system. The disadvantage of the described system is that a robot arm with six axes of movement is required to position the packaging units and that only triangular, prism-shaped packaging units can be positioned under the stacking flaps using a complicated tilting movement.

[0004] US 4,748,791 A discloses a device for packing containers, such as beverage containers, into corresponding transport trays, comprising a first conveyor belt on which the containers are transported, and a second conveyor belt on which the trays are transported. A portion of the second conveyor belt is inclined relative to the first conveyor belt, such that the first and second conveyor belts converge at a specific location. The containers are packed at that location by the first conveyor belt in groups, one after the other, from a front edge to a rear edge of a transport tray, while the transport tray is moved upwards along the inclined portion of the second conveyor belt. Containers can easily slip and fall out of the transport trays.

[0005] The YouTube video, https: / / www.youtube.com / watch?v=6L518NS4FQ4, shows a device for packing packaging units in collection containers according to the preamble of claim 1. The RVA100 model shown, from GNA Srl, features a suction gripper that grips the packaging units from above for positioning in the collection containers and places them in the collection containers. This limits the usable packaging units to airtight packaging units that can be suctioned in from above.

[0006] A similarly constructed device can be seen in the YouTube video, https: / / www.youtube.com / watch?v=jaFhdpRIvK4.

[0007] The object of the invention is therefore to provide an improved device for packing packaging units in collection containers with stacking flaps, which enables uncomplicated and rapid positioning of differently shaped packaging units under the stacking flaps of the collection containers. Furthermore, the object of the invention is to provide a method by which differently shaped packaging units can be quickly and easily positioned in the collection containers under the stacking flaps.

[0008] This object is achieved by a device having the features of claim 1 and a method according to claim 9.

[0009] A slider designed to push at least two packaging units positioned next to each other in the collection container apart from each other from the center of the collection container outwards under the stacking tabs makes it possible to create a particularly simply constructed device that enables uncomplicated and rapid positioning of differently shaped packaging units under the stacking tabs of the collection containers. With the slider, at least two packaging units positioned next to each other in the collection container can be pushed from the center of the collection container under the stacking tabs arranged at the upper edge of the collection container. Such a slider can be of very simple construction and very easily controlled, since only simple translational movements of the slider are required to push the packaging units in the collection container.Due to its simple movement sequences, the device can be easily adapted to accommodate a wide variety of packaging units. The slider can be designed for both cuboid and cylindrical packaging units, or even for pushing other shapes. The packaging units can, in particular, be trays for mushrooms.

[0010] According to the invention, the second conveyor provides the collection containers in a filling position at an angle of 10 to 20 degrees to a horizontal sliding direction of the positioning unit. Furthermore, the positioning unit is a sliding element for horizontally sliding the packaging units into the provided collection containers. Such a sliding element is characterized by a particularly simple design. Furthermore, the horizontal displacement can be easily implemented and easily controlled by a drive of the sliding element. According to the invention, the positioning unit is designed to push the packaging units horizontally in the sliding direction into the upwardly open, provided collection containers. With the angled filling position, the packaging units can be easily moved into the collection containers in a horizontal sliding movement. The horizontal sliding prevents the packaging units from tilting, so that they can be placed safely on the base of the collection container. Another particularly advantageous feature is that a tilting element transfers a filled collection container from the filling position to a horizontal removal position, and the third conveyor transports the filled collection container away in a horizontal direction after tipping. Tilting the filled collection container from the angled filling position to a horizontal removal position has the advantage that the packaging units positioned in the collection container cannot slip or fall out of the collection container when it is transported away by the third conveyor. The tilting of the filled collection container in the tilting element can be carried out in a very controlled manner, so that slipping or falling out of the collection container can be prevented.

[0011] Advantageous embodiments and further developments of the invention emerge from the dependent claims. It should be noted that the features listed individually in the claims can also be combined with one another in any technologically expedient manner, thus revealing further embodiments of the invention.

[0012] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the positioning unit is designed to position additional packaging units between the packaging units pushed outwards under the stacking flaps. By positioning additional packaging units between the packaging units pushed outwards under the stacking flaps, the space in the collection containers can be optimally utilized. The positioning of additional packaging units between the packaging units pushed outwards under the stacking flaps can be carried out as a very simple, automatic handling step, since by pushing the packaging units apart under the stacking flaps in the center of the collection container, there is sufficient space to easily position additional packaging units through the container opening.

[0013] Particularly preferred is an embodiment in which the first conveyor provides at least two packaging units in rows next to each other. By providing the packaging units in rows, they can be easily pushed apart by the pusher one after the other, or in the case of a multi-part pusher, even simultaneously. This form of provision shortens the time required for the pusher to position the packaging units under the stacking flaps, particularly when simultaneously pushing apart the packaging units provided in at least two rows.

[0014] A particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention relates to the fact that the first conveyor is designed to group at least two packaging units arranged side by side and at least two packaging units arranged one behind the other into a first positioning group, wherein the positioning unit is designed to position this first positioning group together in a collection container provided by the second conveyor. With the simultaneous positioning of such a positioning group, the collection containers can be very quickly and automatically filled with packaging units, which can then be easily pushed apart and under the stacking tabs of the collection containers.

[0015] A particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the slider is designed to push the first, positioned positioning group apart from the center of the collection container outwards beneath the stacking flaps, and the positioning unit is designed to position further packaging units grouped by the first conveyor in a second positioning group between the packaging units of the first positioning group pushed outwards beneath the stacking flaps. Pushing the first positioning group apart and the subsequent positioning of the second positioning group between the packaging units of the first positioning group pushed beneath the stacking flaps enables simple and rapid loading of the collection containers with packaging units. The larger the positioning groups, the more packaging units can be positioned simultaneously in a collection container. The number of packaging units in a positioning group and their arrangement can be easily adapted to the size of the packaging units used and the format of the collection containers used.

[0016] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the first conveyor delivers the packaging units in a longitudinal direction. By delivering the packaging units in a longitudinal direction, they can be easily positioned in the collection containers with the shorter transverse side first. This makes it easy to position several packaging units side by side in the collection containers simultaneously.

[0017] A particularly advantageous embodiment is one in which the second conveyor delivers the collection containers in a cross-flow pattern. By delivering the collection containers in a cross-flow pattern, they can be easily loaded from the longer longitudinal side. Loading is thus less restricted by the stacking tabs typically located on the shorter transverse side.

[0018] An advantageous embodiment provides that the slider is designed to be moved from the top into the collection container for pushing the packaging units and, after pushing the packaging units, upwards out of the collection container. The feed movement of the slider from the top into the collection container and upwards out of the collection container enables very simple and fast movement sequences before and after pushing the packaging units apart, thus shortening the required operating time of the slider and simplifying the design of the slider drive.

[0019] Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for packaging packaging units in collecting containers with stacking flaps, in particular with a device already described and described in more detail below, comprising the following steps: - Provision of at least two packaging units next to each other, - Provision of empty collection containers in a filling position at an angle of 10 to 20 degrees to a horizontal sliding direction, - Positioning of packaging units provided next to each other by moving them horizontally in the sliding direction into a provided collection container that is open at the top, - pushing apart at least two packaging units positioned next to each other in the collection container from the centre of the collection container outwards under the stacking flaps, - Positioning of additional packaging units between the packaging units pushed outwards under the stacking flaps, - Transfer of filled collection container from the filling position to a horizontal removal position, - Removal of the packaging units packed in collection containers after tipping the filled collection containers in a horizontal direction.

[0020] By pushing the packaging units positioned next to each other apart in the collection container, space can easily be created for additional packaging units. By arranging packaging units under the stacking tabs, the space created in the center of the collection container can be easily filled with additional packaging units, ensuring optimal use of the available space in the collection container. With the angled filling position, the packaging units can be easily moved into the collection containers in a horizontal sliding motion. This horizontal sliding motion prevents the packaging units from tilting, allowing them to be safely placed on the base of the collection container.Tilting the filled collection container from the angled filling position into a horizontal removal position has the advantage that the packaging units positioned in the collection container cannot slip or fall out of the collection container during removal.

[0021] Further features, details, and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description and the drawings, which show an exemplary embodiment of the invention. Corresponding objects or elements are provided with the same reference numerals in all figures. They show: Fig. 1 device according to the invention with cladding, Fig. 2 Device with cladding from the side, Fig. 3 device according to the invention, Fig. 4 Detailed view of stopper, Fig. 5 device according to the invention in side view, Fig. 6 Side view of stopper, Fig. 7 device according to the invention in a further view, Fig. 8 Detailed view of switch, Fig. 9 Detailed view of positioning unit, Fig. 10 Division into two rows, Fig. 11 Positioning of first positioning group, Fig. 12 Sliding apart packaging units, and Fig. 13 Positioning of second positioning group.

[0022] In the Fig. 1, designated by reference numeral 1, shows a device according to the invention. The device 1 is enclosed in a casing 16, so that only the conveyors 5, 6, 7 protrude from the casing 16. The casing 16 protects the device 1 and employees at the device 1 from moving parts during operation of the device 1. The device 1 for packing packaging units 2 in collecting containers 3 with stacking flaps 4 ( Fig. 3) has a first conveyor 5 for providing two packaging units 2 ( Fig. 3) next to each other. This conveyor 5 is designed in the exemplary embodiment as a simple conveyor belt 17 and can also be formed by several conveyor belts. The empty collection containers 3 ( Fig. 3). This second conveyor 6 can be used as a conveyor belt 18 ( Fig. 3) but can also be designed as a roller slide. Furthermore, a third conveyor 7 is provided for transporting the packaging units 2 packed in collection containers 3; this conveyor can be designed as a simple conveyor belt 19.

[0023] In the side view according to Fig. 2 it can be seen that the first conveyor 5 transports the packaging units 2 ( Fig. 1) in a horizontal conveying movement 20 ( Fig. 5), while the collection containers 3 are provided on the second conveyor 6 at an angle of 10 to 20 degrees to the horizontal conveying direction 20 of the first conveyor 5. On the third conveyor 7, the filled collection containers 3 are transported in a horizontal conveying direction 21 ( Fig. 5) is transported away by the device 1.

[0024] The Fig. 3 shows the device 1 according to the invention according to Fig. 1 without the covering 16 ( Fig. 2) in order to better explain the other components and functions. As can be seen, the first conveyor 5 comprises a first conveyor belt section 22, which conveys the packaging units 2 to a switch 23. This switch 23 divides the packaging units 2 into two rows next to one another, whereby these packaging units 2 arranged next to one another are conveyed via a second conveyor belt section 24 and provided to an automatic positioning unit 8. This automatic positioning unit 8 serves to position the packaging units 2 provided next to one another by the first conveyor 5 in the collection containers 3 provided by the second conveyor 6. The positioning unit 8 comprises a stopper 25 in order to stop the packaging units 2 on the second conveyor belt section 24 of the first conveyor 5. This stopper 25 has, as can also be seen from the detailed view according to Fig. 4, via a rotary knob 26, which offers a manual adjustment option for the stopper 25 so that the stopper 25 hits the gap between the packaging units 2 lined up next to each other by the first conveyor 5. In addition, the positioning unit 8 comprises a push-in unit 27 for easily pushing in the packaging units 2 provided next to each other by the first conveyor 5. The push-in unit 27 pushes the packaging units 2 horizontally in the pushing direction 14 ( Fig. 5) into the collection containers 3 provided by the second conveyor 6.

[0025] Out of Fig. 5 shows that the collection containers 3 are provided by the second conveyor in a filling position at an angle of 10 to 20 degrees to a horizontal sliding direction 14 of the positioning unit 8. The insertion unit 27 of the positioning unit 8 pushes the packaging units 2 horizontally in the sliding direction 14 into the upwardly open, provided collection containers 3. The positioning unit 8 thus forms a simple sliding element for the horizontal displacement of the packaging units 2 into the provided collection containers 3. In Fig. 6 the stopper 25 is seen from the side and the Fig. 4 shows a partially enlarged detailed view of this stopper 25. In Fig. 5 also clearly shows the tipping element 15, which transfers filled collection containers 3 from the filling position into a horizontal removal position.

[0026] For this purpose, the tilting element 15 has a cylinder piston rod 28 ( Fig. 9) movably mounted frame 29, which can be pivoted between a tilted and a horizontal position by controlling the associated drive cylinders 30. On the frame 29 ( Fig. 9) of the tilting element 15 is in the embodiment a belt conveyor 31 ( Fig. 9) is arranged, which conveys the collection containers 2 tilted into the removal position onto the third conveyor 7. The third conveyor 7 transports the filled collection containers 3 away in the horizontal direction 21 after tipping.

[0027] The Fig. Figure 7 shows the device 1 according to the Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 from a wider perspective. In this view, as well as in Fig. 3, it can be seen that the collecting containers 3 are open at the top and have so-called stacking tabs 4 for stacking the collecting containers 3 on top of each other. These stacking tabs 4 form a support surface 32 ( Fig. 3) arranged surfaces 33 ( Fig. 3), on which collection containers 2 can be placed. The stacking tabs 4 reduce the size of the container opening 32 ( Fig. 3), so that the receiving area 34 for packaging units 2 in the collecting container 3 is larger and can accommodate more packaging units 2 than can be passed through the container opening 32 ( Fig. 3) from above. Furthermore, it can be seen that the second conveyor 6 provides the collection containers 3 in a transverse direction. Providing the collection containers 3 in a transverse direction enables direct loading of the provided collection containers 3 from the longer longitudinal side 35. The stacking tabs 4 arranged on the shorter transverse side 36 are thus located laterally relative to the conveying direction 37 of the second conveyor 6.

[0028] The Fig. 8 shows a partial enlargement of the view according to Fig. 7 to the switch 23 of the first conveyor 5. Here it can be seen that the switch 23 is formed by a frame 39 which is movable via a cylinder piston rod 38 and which can be pivoted between two positions by controlling the associated drive cylinder 40 in order to line up packaging units 2 conveyed one after the other via the frame 39 in two rows on the second conveyor belt section 24 of the first conveyor 5.

[0029] With Fig. 9 is a partial enlargement of the view according to Fig. 7 onto the positioning unit 8. The automatic positioning unit 8 positions the packaging units 2, which are provided next to one another by the first conveyor 5, into the collection containers 3 provided by the second conveyor 6. The stopper 25 of the positioning unit 8 stops the packaging units 2 on the second conveyor belt section 24 of the first conveyor 5. The stopper 25 can also be used to position the packaging units 2 in positioning groups 12, 13 ( Fig. 11 to 13), which will be explained in more detail later. The positioning unit 8 also comprises the shown insertion unit 27 for inserting the packaging units 2 provided next to one another by the first conveyor 5. This insertion unit 27 pushes the packaging units 2 horizontally in the pushing direction 14 ( Fig. 5) into the collection containers 3 provided by the second conveyor 6.

[0030] The Fig. 9 also allows a good view of the slider 9 of the device 1. This slider 9 serves to push apart at least two packaging units 2 positioned next to each other in the collecting container 3 from the center 10 ( Fig. 11) of the collecting container 2 outwards under the stacking flaps 4. In the exemplary embodiment, the slide 9 is formed by two sliding plates 41, which can be pushed together and apart via a sliding frame 42. As a result, the slide 9 can be moved in the middle 10 ( Fig. 11) engage with both sliding plates 41 between the packaging units 2 positioned next to one another in the collecting container 3 and push these, preferably simultaneously, by sliding the sliding plates 41 apart, outwards under the stacking tabs 4 of the collecting container 3. The slider 9 shown here is very simply constructed and can be easily controlled. To push the packaging units 2 into the collecting container 3, only simple translational movements of the sliding plates 41 are required, which are guided via the sliding frame 42. The slider 9 is designed such that the sliding plates 41 of the slider 9 can be moved from above into the collecting container 3 to push the packaging units 2 and, after the packaging units 2 have been pushed, can be moved upwards out of the collecting container 3.For this purpose, the slide frame 42 of the slide 9 can be moved towards and away from the provided collecting containers 3 via cylinder piston rods 43 by controlling the associated drive cylinders 44. In the . Fig. 9 also shows the belt conveyor 31, which is arranged on the frame 29 of the tilting element 15. This belt conveyor 31 also serves to receive the collection container 3 provided by the second conveyor 6 on the tilting element 15 and enables the shown positioning of a collection container 3 on the tilting element 15. A filled collection container 3 is transferred on the tilting element 15 from the filling position into the horizontal removal position shown here. For this purpose, the tilting element 15 is pivoted via the cylinder piston rods 28 by controlling the associated drive cylinders 30. In this removal position, the belt conveyor 31 conveys the tilted collection containers 3 to the third conveyor 7. This then transports the filled collection containers 3 away in a horizontal direction.

[0031] Based on the Fig. 10 to 13, a further explanation of the device 1 and the method for packing packaging units 2 in collecting containers 3 with stacking flaps 4 is given. Fig. 10 shows schematically the division of the packaging units 2 into two rows, as they are formed by the switch 23 ( Fig. 8). As can be seen, the packaging units 2 (e.g. filled with mushrooms) are located on the first conveyor 5 ( Fig. 3) in the longitudinal direction and are also provided in two rows in the longitudinal direction. The provision of the packaging units 2 in the longitudinal direction ensures easier positioning of the packaging units 2 in the collection container 3 ( Fig. 11) with the shorter transverse side 45 ( Fig. 11). This makes it easy to position several packaging units 2 next to each other in the collection containers 3. Here, two packaging units 2 arranged next to each other and two packaging units 2 arranged one behind the other are combined to form a first positioning group 12 ( Fig. 11). This is done by the stopper 25 ( Fig. 6) of the first conveyor 5. The positioning unit 8 can be the first positioning group 12 ( Fig. 11) together in a collection container 3 provided by the second conveyor 6.

[0032] This is in Fig. 11, where the first positioning group 12 was arranged centrally in the provided collection container 3. The stacking tabs 4 of the collection container 3 are indicated by dotted lines on the short transverse sides 36 of the collection container 3. Between the dotted lines is the upwardly open container opening 32, through which the packaging units 2 are arranged in the collection container 3. The slider 9 ( Fig. 9) for moving the packaging units 2 from above into the collection container 3, in order to be moved upwards out of the collection container 3 after the packaging units 2 have been moved.

[0033] The shifting of the packaging units 2 positioned next to each other in the collecting container 3 from the center 10 of the collecting container 2 outwards under the stacking flaps 4 is in Fig. 12 is indicated schematically. As can be seen, the first positioning group 12 is moved by the slider 9 ( Fig. 9) are pushed apart from the center 10 of the collection container 3 outwards under the stacking tabs 4. By pushing apart the packaging units 2 positioned next to one another in the collection container 3 from the center 10 of the collection container 3 outwards under the stacking tabs 4, a simple way is provided to create further space in the center 10 of the collection container 3 for additional packaging units 2 and to optimally utilize the space under the stacking tabs 4 of the collection container 3.

[0034] As in Fig. 13, between the packaging units 2 of the first positioning group 12 pushed outwards under the stacking flaps 4, further packaging units 2 from the first conveyor 5 ( Fig. 3) packaging units 2 grouped in a second positioning group 13 from the positioning unit 8 ( Fig. 9) are positioned. As is particularly the case in Fig. 3, this arrangement of the packaging units 2 in the collection containers 3 with stacking tabs 4 allows a high utilization of the available space on the receiving surface 34 in the collection containers 3 during automated assembly.
