AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing methods for drift compensation in sensors, such as pressure sensors, are inadequate in addressing unknown causes of measurement value drift during the sensor's lifetime, leading to inaccurate measurements.

Method used

A method for drift compensation that involves defining test values based on the process being monitored, determining process values within a defined time interval, and deriving a compensation value to correct for deviations, which can be automated using self-learning algorithms to predict and adapt to ongoing drift.

Benefits of technology

Ensures accurate measurement values by continuously compensating for unknown causes of drift, maintaining measurement precision without interrupting the process, and allowing for real-time recalibration.

Abstract

Method for drift compensation of a pressure sensor, wherein measured values for monitoring a process are determined by means of the pressure sensor (S4), wherein at least one test value in the form of a pressure or a pressure increase is defined (S3), and wherein at least one process value in the form of a pressure or pressure increase is determined within a defined time interval (S2) (S5), wherein the process value is determined from measured values measured within the defined time interval and wherein it is checked whether the at least one process value deviates from the at least one test value (S6) and if after expiry of the time interval (S8) a process value deviates from the corresponding test value, a compensation value is derived therefrom, which is used to compensate the measured values (S9).
