[0035] According to one aspect of the disclosure, a retaining device for a child carrier, such as a safety seat, is provided, comprising: a base support unit connected to and supporting a base of the child carrier; a retaining unit configured to retain the child carrier to a vehicle seat; a fixing rod provided on and movable together with the base support unit; a slider provided in the retaining unit and engaged with the fixing rod; and a buffer unit. The fixing rod can move the slider, for example, in a forward-backward direction. The buffer unit is engaged with the slider to cushion it when an impact force from the slider reaches a predetermined value, thereby enabling movement of the slider from a first to a second position.

[0036] In another aspect of the disclosure, a base for a child carrier is provided. The base includes a holding device according to various embodiments.

[0037] In yet another aspect of the disclosure, a child carrier is provided. The child carrier includes a safety seat with a base according to various embodiments of the disclosure.

[0038] According to embodiments of the disclosure, the child carrier may be a safety seat. Aspects, embodiments, and implementations of the disclosure are described in more detail below using the safety seat as an example.

[0039] When a vehicle is in an emergency situation, such as an emergency stop, a rear-end collision, etc., a strong impact is generated by inertia between a child in the vehicle and the safety seat attached to the vehicle seat, which may compromise the child's safety or result in a poor driving experience. In some embodiments of the disclosure, when this impact reaches a certain magnitude, for example, equal to or greater than a predetermined value, the retaining device cushions the slider, thereby cushioning a base of the safety seat connected to the slider and the entire seat, so that the safety seat reduces the impact on the child and improves the child's protection.

[0040] The holding device of the disclosure will be described in more detail in connection with the structures in the embodiments. Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a base 100 for a child carrier of one embodiment of the disclosure. Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 are bottom views of the base 100 of one embodiment of the disclosure, showing a retaining device 10 of the base 100. One of ordinary skill in the art will recognize that the base 100 of the disclosure may be suitable for supporting a child carrier, such as a safety seat, but is not limited thereto. In other embodiments, the structure described below may also be implemented directly in a child carrier. In the embodiments described in the Fig. In the embodiments shown in Figures 1 to 3, the base 100 comprises a holding device 10, which in turn comprises a base support unit 20 and a holding unit 30. The base support unit 20 is connected to and supports the base 100, and the holding unit 30 extends from the base 100 to be connected to and secured to a vehicle seat. The holding device 10 further comprises an adjustment unit 40 and a buffer unit 50. The adjustment unit 40 serves to adjust the position of the base support unit 20 relative to the holding unit 30, and the buffer unit 50 serves to cushion the safety seat.

[0041] In particular, the retention unit 30 comprises: a pair of parallel retention rods 31 on each side of the base 100; a synchronizing rod 32 connecting the two retention rods 31 to synchronize their movement; and locking elements 33 rigidly connected to respective ends of the retention rods 31. The locking element 33 is ISOFIX compliant so that it can be locked into a corresponding interface on the vehicle seat to lock the base 100 to the vehicle seat. It is understood that in other embodiments, the safety seat of the disclosure can be securely connected to the vehicle seat according to other interface standards, such as LATCH. As further described in the Fig. 4 to 6, the support rods 31 are each provided with a sliding guide 310 for receiving sliding pieces therein so that the sliding pieces can slide in the sliding guide 310 (which will be described below).

[0042] The adjustment unit 40 is used to adjust a forward-backward position of the base support unit 20 with respect to the holding unit 30. The adjustment unit 40 includes: fixing rods 41 connected to the base support unit 20; a slider 42 provided in the holding unit 30 and engaged with the fixing rod 41; and an operating part 43. The fixing rod 41 is movable together with the base support unit 20 and is driven by the operating part 43 to reciprocate in a direction perpendicular to a cushioning direction between a locking position and an unlocking position. In the locking position, the fixing rod 41 is inserted into the slider 42, and the base support unit 20 and the holding unit 30 are fixed with respect to each other. In the unlocked position, the fastening rod 41 is disengaged from the slider 42, and the base support unit 20 can then slide in a forward-backward direction with respect to the holding unit 30. The slider 42 is provided with a plurality of adjustment holes 420 arranged in the cushioning direction for inserting one end of the fastening rod 41. In the embodiment shown in FIGS. Fig. 3 to 5, the slider 42 further includes a reinforcing member 421 which increases the strength of the slider 42.

[0043] Especially in the Fig. 2 and Fig. 3, when the safety seat needs to be adjusted, the fastening rod 41 is moved to the unlocked position, for example, by pulling on the operating part 43. The base 100 of the safety seat can then be moved to a desired position, and then the operating part 43 is released so that one end of the fastening rod 41 is inserted into a corresponding adjustment hole 420 of the slider 42. As a result, the position of the base support unit 20 relative to the holding unit 30 is adjusted in the forward-backward direction, i.e., the position of the safety seat on the vehicle seat is adjusted.

[0044] In the embodiment shown in the Fig. 2 and Fig. 3, the operating part 43 has a guide groove 430 connected to the fixing rod 41. The guide groove 430 is inclined, and one end of the fixing rod 41 is connected to the guide groove 430 and is clamped therein. The operating part 43 moves in the front-back direction, and the fixing rod 41 moves along the guide groove 430 in a transverse direction perpendicular to the front-back direction to be inserted into or disengaged from the slider 42. It should be understood that in other embodiments, an adjusting unit with a different configuration may be used to drive the fixing rod. For example, a rotatable drive rod may be provided between the operating part 43 and the fixing rod 41, acting as a rocker that converts the movement of the operating part 43 in the front-back direction into a movement of the fixing rod 41 in the transverse direction. Therefore, the adjustment unit of the disclosure is not limited to the specific configuration described above, but includes all existing adjustment units that can drive the fixing rod 41.

[0045] In particular, the base 100 provided by the disclosure protects children, for example, in the event of a traffic accident or emergency braking. In some embodiments, the buffer unit 50 is arranged in front of the slider 42 in the cushioning direction of the slider 42, so that the slider 42 may abut against the buffer unit 50 or otherwise interact with the buffer unit 50. It should be noted that the terms "abut" and "abut against" used here or in the following embodiments include not only a direct abutment of the slider 42 against the buffer unit 50 in normal situations, but also the case where the slider 42 and the buffer unit 50 are spaced apart from each other but abut each other when the slider 42 or the buffer unit 50 slides relative to each other in some situations.

[0046] In the embodiments described in the Fig. 2 to 7, the buffer unit 50 is provided in the support rod 31 on each side of the base 100, and is also arranged in front of the slider 42. The buffer unit 50 includes a buffer part 51 and a pin 52 inserted into the buffer part 51. The buffer part 51 has a symmetrical U-shaped structure with a hole 510 on each side for inserting the pin 52 and a buffer groove 511 connected to the hole 510. A width of the buffer groove 511 is smaller than a diameter of the pin 52. The slider 42 abuts against the buffer part 51, and the pin 52 is inserted into the support rod 31 and thereby fixed thereto. It is understood that the pin 52 can also be fixed to the support unit 30 in other ways. When the impact force applied from the slider 42 to the buffer member 51 does not reach a certain value such as a set value, the pin 52 can be stably held in the hole 510.In other words, the slider 42 is located at a first position without relative displacement, and the base support unit 20 does not move with respect to the holding unit 30. However, when the impact force applied by the slider 42 to the buffer member 51 reaches the predetermined value, the pin 52 pierces the hole 510 in which it is located and is displaced along the buffer groove 511. The movement of the pin 52 compresses and deforms the material on both sides of the buffer groove 511, and the deformation then cushions the movement of the slider 42. By moving the pin 52 in the buffer groove 511, the slider 42 can move forward in the slide guide 310 to a second position, the extent of the forward movement depending on the structure and material of the buffer unit 50 and the magnitude of the impact force resulting, for example, from an emergency braking or a rear-end collision. The movement of the sliding piece 42 and the damping effect ensure that the sliding piece 42 and the entire base support unit 20, which is connected to the sliding piece 42 by means of the adjustment unit 40, do not stop abruptly, for example in the event of an emergency braking or a rear-end collision, so that the base support unit 20 and the entire safety seat are cushioned.

[0047] In the above embodiment, the width of the buffer groove 511 is smaller than the diameter of the pin 52 to create the required squeezing and damping. It should be understood that the width of the buffer groove 511 does not necessarily have to be smaller than the diameter of the pin 52 over the common length. A cushioning effect can be achieved as long as the width of at least a portion of the buffer groove 511 is smaller than the diameter of the pin 52. Furthermore, in the illustrated embodiment, the width of the buffer groove 511 changes gradually along the length. For example, the buffer groove 511 has a gradually larger width in the direction of movement of the pin 52. It should be understood that in other embodiments, the width of the buffer groove 511 may remain constant.

[0048] Fig. 8 is a schematic diagram of another implementation of the buffer unit 50 in the above embodiment. The difference from the above-described implementation is that the buffer unit 50 is placed inverted, that is, the slider 42 abuts the pin 52, and the buffer member 51 abuts the support rod 31. However, when the impact force applied by the slider 42 to the pin 52 reaches the predetermined value, the pin 52 pierces the hole 510 and slides along the buffer groove 511, compressing the material on both sides of the buffer groove 511 and deforming it. Likewise, the base support unit 20 and the entire safety seat are cushioned by the relative displacement.

[0049] Fig. 9 is a schematic diagram of a holding device according to another embodiment of the disclosure. Unlike the previous embodiments, the buffer unit includes a flexible buffer member 51A disposed in front of the slider 42 in the cushioning direction of the slider 42, such that the slider 42 abuts against the buffer member 51A. The buffer member 51A is configured to deform when the impact force from the slider 42 reaches a predetermined value, thereby cushioning the slider 42. In a specific embodiment, the buffer member 51A is made of a flexible material that is non-rebounding or recovers only slowly, and thus the buffer member 51A does not recover its shape at all or only slowly after the flexible material has deformed. This material can be, for example, triethyl phosphate (TEP), rubber, or the like.

[0050] Fig. 10 is a schematic diagram of a holding device according to another embodiment of the disclosure. Unlike the previous embodiments, the buffer unit includes a buffer part 51B disposed in front of the slider 42 in the cushioning direction of the slider 42 and configured to collapse when the impact force from the slider 42 reaches a predetermined value. The buffer part 51B is made of, for example, a brittle resin and has, for example, a honeycomb structure.

[0051] Fig. 11 is a schematic diagram of a retaining device according to another embodiment of the disclosure. Unlike the previous embodiments, the buffer unit includes a buffer part 51C and a snap fastener 53 inserted into the buffer part 51C. The snap fastener 53 is fixed to the retaining unit 30, for example, directly to the retaining rod 31. When the impact force from the slider 42 reaches a predetermined value, the snap fastener 53 breaks due to the impact of the buffer part 51C and is spaced apart from the retaining rod 31, allowing the slider 42 to move forward, thereby cushioning the safety seat. In a modified embodiment, the snap fastener 53 may be arranged in front of the buffer part 51C. Alternatively, the snap fastener 53 may be made of a brittle material with a certain strength. In a further modified embodiment, the snap lock 53 can abut directly against the slider 42, so that the buffer part 51C is not required.

[0052] The Fig. 12 and Fig. 13 are schematic representations of a retaining device according to another embodiment of the disclosure. In contrast to the previous embodiments, the buffer unit includes a buffer part 51D and a stopper 54 that abuts against the buffer part 51D. The stopper 54 may, for example, be an elastic web attached to the retaining rod 31 and arranged in front of the buffer part 51D. The buffer part 51D abuts against the stopper 54, and when the impact force from the slider 42 reaches a predetermined value, the stopper 54 deforms and releases the slider 42, allowing the slider 42 to move forward from a first position to a second position, thereby cushioning the safety seat. The second position depends on the strength of the impact force and the properties, such as the material, structure, and elasticity, of the stopper 54.

[0053] Fig. 14 is a schematic diagram of the holding device according to another embodiment of the disclosure. Unlike the previous embodiments, the buffer unit includes a buffer part 51E and projections 55 that are attached to the support rod 31 and snap into the buffer part 51E. In the illustrated embodiment, the buffer part 51E has a corrugated surface, and the projection 55 has a curved surface to abut against the corrugated surface. When the impact force from the slider 42 is less than a predetermined value, the engagement between the projection 55 and the buffer part 51E prevents the buffer part 51E from moving. When the impact force reaches the predetermined value, the projection 55 slides on the corrugated surface, creating a cushioning effect that cushions the slider 42 and the base 100.The buffer part 51E not only has the corrugated surface, but the surface of the buffer part 51E may also have a flat structure or other structures that can generate a crushing force between the buffer part 51E and the protrusion 55. The crushing force determines a threshold of the impact force that causes relative sliding, and it provides a damping effect during the relative sliding.

[0054] Now let’s get to the Fig. 15 and Fig. 16. Fig. 16 is a schematic representation of a holding device according to another embodiment of the disclosure, in which, in contrast to the previous embodiments, the buffer unit has a collapsible part 56. Fig. 15 is a perspective view of the collapsible part 56. The collapsible part 56 can be made of a metallic material, and in the illustrated embodiment, the collapsible part 56 has a U-shaped structure. When the impact force from the slider 42 reaches a predetermined value, the collapsible part 56 plastically deforms and absorbs energy, thus cushioning the safety seat. In a specific implementation, the buffer unit further includes a buffer part 51F disposed in front of the slider 42 and abutting against the slider 42. One end of the collapsible part 56 is fixed to the buffer part 51F, and the other end is fixed to the support unit 30. In another embodiment, the slider 42 may be directly connected to the collapsible part 56 without the buffer part 51F.

[0055] Now let’s get to the Fig. 17 and Fig. 18. Fig. Figure 18 is a schematic representation of a holding device according to another embodiment of the disclosure. In contrast to the previous embodiments, the buffer unit has a tear-off part 57, which is attached, for example, to the holding rod 31. Fig.17 is a perspective view of the breakaway part 57. The breakaway part 57 may be made of a metallic material and includes a breakaway piece 570. The breakaway piece 570 may be made integral with the breakaway part 57 and has tear lines machined along its periphery. The tear lines facilitate tearing the breakaway piece 570 from the breakaway part 57. In a specific embodiment, the buffer unit further includes a buffer part 51G disposed in front of and abutting against the slider 42. One end of the breakaway piece 570 is attached to the buffer part 51G. When the impact force from the slider 42 reaches a predetermined value, the breakaway piece 570 is pulled away from the breakaway part 57, creating an energy absorption effect, thereby cushioning the safety seat.In an alternative embodiment, the end of the breakaway piece 570 can be attached directly to the slider 42, so that the buffer part 51G is not required.

[0056] In a further embodiment (not shown), the buffer unit comprises a buffer part, an electronic lock for locking the buffer part, and a detection unit. The buffer part abuts the slider. The detection unit serves to detect impact forces that arise during an emergency braking or a rear-end collision and are applied, for example, to the buffer part. Alternatively, the detection unit can also detect an acceleration during an emergency braking or a rear-end collision, for example, an acceleration of the base 100 or the vehicle. The electronic lock is configured to release the buffer part when the impact force and / or acceleration detected by the detection unit reach a predetermined value, thereby cushioning the safety seat.

[0057] In various embodiments, the slider 42 can continue to advance when the impact force reaches a predetermined value to achieve a cushioning effect. Furthermore, in some of these embodiments, the buffer unit 50 can provide damping as the slider 42 continues to slide forward, thereby achieving a better cushioning effect. In these embodiments, the damping can be provided by frictional forces due to squeezing or spring pressure, resistance from the buffer part, resistance due to deformation, resistance due to material fracture, etc.

[0058] According to the embodiments, the buffer unit 50 is configured so that the slider 42 can be moved from a first position to a second position to provide cushioning. In some embodiments, the buffer unit 50 is further configured so that the slider 42 can remain in the second position after moving to the second position, and it is not rapidly moved back and forth between the first and second positions to prevent injury to children, thus further ensuring the safety of children in the vehicle and enhancing the driving experience.

[0059] In various embodiments, the holding device 10 has an adjustment unit 40, and the adjustment unit 40 in turn has an operating part 43 and a fastening rod 41. The operating part 43 drives the fastening rod 41 so that it locks or unlocks the slider 42, whereby the position adjustment of the base support unit 20 with respect to the holding unit 30 as well as the movement of the slider 42 driven by the base support unit 20 can be realized. It is also understood that the cushioning mechanism in combination with the cushioning effect described above can also be used for safety seats that do not have a position adjustment function, i.e., no adjustment unit. For example, the fastening rod can be attached directly to the base support unit and connected to a slider in the holding unit. Therefore, in an emergency situation such as emergency braking or a rear-end collision, the slider collides with the buffer unit, and when the impact force from the slider reaches a predetermined value, the buffer unit provides a cushioning effect to the safety seat in various ways, as described above. Note that the fixing rod described in the above embodiments serves to transmit energy between the base support unit and the slider, and in some embodiments, to adjust the position of the base. Therefore, the fixing rod is not limited to a specific structure but may have any structure capable of achieving the aforementioned functions.

[0060] In the described embodiments, the set value for determining whether a cushioning effect of the buffer unit occurs can be determined, for example, by the structure or material of the buffer unit. The set value can be set, for example, to 1000 N to 5000 N as needed. The buffer unit functions when the impact force reaches or exceeds this set value. It should be noted that the set value in the claims and the patent specification may be a value previously set by someone, and the buffer unit may then be designed based on this value, or the set value may be an objectively determined value depending on an already designed buffer unit.

[0061] Furthermore, in various embodiments, the buffer unit 50 is arranged in the support rod 31 on each side. It is understood that the buffer unit 50 can also be arranged at other positions of the support unit 30 or in only one of the support rods 31 of the support unit 30.

[0062] In another aspect of the disclosure, a safety seat is provided with a retaining device as described in the preceding embodiments. The retaining device provides cushioning for the safety seat in emergency situations, thereby ensuring the safety of children in the vehicle.

[0063] Technical features of the above-described embodiments can be combined in any way according to actual situations. For simplicity, not all possible combinations of the technical features in the above embodiments have been described. However, as long as there is no contradiction in the combination of these technical features, they should all be considered within the scope of the present disclosure.

[0064] Only a few embodiments of the present disclosure have been described with more specific and detailed details, but these are not intended to limit the scope of the invention. It should be appreciated that a person of ordinary skill in the art may make a number of modifications and improvements without departing from the principle of the present invention, all of which modifications and improvements are within the scope of the present invention. Therefore, the scope of the present invention is defined by the appended claims.
