Description

Technical area

[0001] The present invention relates to a plaster for application to the skin. State of the art

[0002] Inflammatory and degenerative and / or painful joint diseases are usually treated with active ingredients in the form of ointments, creams, or similar medications that are applied to the affected areas. This approach is cumbersome, as ointments or creams, for example, are applied either directly to the skin or via plasters or bandages.

[0003] The disadvantage of direct application is that the applied active ingredients are not covered and can easily smudge or be removed from the skin by clothing or other external objects (such as bed covers), meaning the active ingredients cannot develop their full effect.

[0004] Previously known patches, which can be used as carriers for topically applied medications, protect clothing or external objects from contact with the active ingredients or medications. However, these patches do not allow for multiple use and dosage of active ingredients. In most cases, the active ingredient is largely absorbed by the patches, or ointments or creams do not remain in the patch and leak out, preventing sufficient active ingredient from penetrating the affected areas.

[0005] Bandages can provide relief in this case, but they have the disadvantage that the treated areas are restricted in their freedom of movement and are difficult to apply. Furthermore, the bandages easily slip, preventing precise treatment of the treated areas.

[0006] Furthermore, the plasters and bandages are disposed of after use, resulting in a high volume of waste.

[0007] DE 3723596 A1 describes a medical plaster, in particular for applying topically applied medicaments such as ointments, creams, or powders, comprising a layer for application to a body area to be treated and a carrier for the support layer. The support layer contains depressions whose volumes are known. This also defines the total volume of the depressions per plaster. The support layer is preferably covered with a perforated film, which protects the support layer when the medicament is applied. To protect the depressions and maintain their geometric shape, a cover film is provided, which has nubs on its underside whose shape corresponds to the shape of the depressions.

[0008] DE10 2011 009 505 A1 relates to an application device for distributing a pasty or liquid medium, in particular a medically effective ointment, on human or animal skin, comprising an elongated handle (1) and an application head (2) elastically connected to the handle at the end, which has at least one elastic application surface (4, 5).

[0009] EP 3 411 110 B1 relates to a device for the transdermal application of a permeating agent with a novel positioning mechanism that allows a patch to be applied preferentially to a target area of a person's skin surface or to a porous target area (area enclosing many micropores formed in the skin) formed by a porator in the skin of a person.

[0010] DE 38 11 564 A1 refers to a plaster for pharmaceutical formulations consisting of a layer of open-pore, elastic foam with technically produced recesses of varying geometry for accommodating pharmaceutical formulations, a mechanical separating layer on the upper side facing away from the skin, and an adhesive edge made of elastic, closed-pore foam. The layer and adhesive edge are bonded to an elastic cover film on the upper side, and the plaster has a removable protective film on the underside. DE 83 32 079 U1 refers to a plaster for treating the human body surface, particularly parts of the body located in skin folds.

[0011] DE 3714140 A1 relates to a drug-containing plaster for the controlled administration of active substances to the skin, which plaster has a back side and a skin side, with a backing layer, an active substance reservoir divided essentially perpendicularly to the skin contact surface of the plaster and containing one or more active substances, a pressure-sensitive adhesive device on the skin side and optionally a cover layer which can be removed before application of the plaster. Description of the invention

[0012] Based on the known prior art, it is an object of the present invention to provide an improved solution for a plaster which ensures repeated application of an active ingredient in the form of ointments or creams, improves the tightness of the plaster and also ensures the mobility of the areas to be treated.

[0013] This object is achieved by a plaster for application to the skin having the features of claim 1. Advantageous further developments emerge from the subclaims, the present description and the figures.

[0014] Accordingly, a plaster for application to the skin is proposed, which comprises an application device with an application section for applying an active ingredient, preferably in the form of an ointment or cream, and a fastening device, wherein the fastening device is arranged at least partially on an edge section of the application device in order to apply the application device to the skin in a slip-resistant manner. The application device is made of a polymer with a hardness between Shore A 0 and Shore A 60, preferably between ShA 5 and ShA 50, more preferably between ShA 10 and ShA 30, and particularly preferably ShA 10, and has in the application section a plurality of projections on one side of the skin, which projections are arranged concentrically in the application section starting from a center of the application section.

[0015] In an alternative example, the application device is designed in a tube-like manner, wherein at least one inner wall in the application section has a plurality of projections on one side of the skin.

[0016] The proposed plaster has the advantage of being reusable, as the application device is made of a flexible, washable polymer. The application device is preferably made of silicone or polyurethane (PUR) or thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), preferably thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), or vulcanized rubber. After use, the application device can be easily cleaned and reused for further application with an active ingredient in the form of an ointment or cream.

[0017] The application device has a skin side and a top side. The skin side refers to the side of the patch that faces the skin when the patch is applied and thus the side of the application device with which the application device can be applied to the skin.

[0018] The top side refers to the side of the patch that faces away from the skin when the patch is applied.

[0019] The application device can also be called an application pad or application cuff.

[0020] Concentric refers to geometric structures arranged symmetrically around a common center point. These can be circular, square, rectangular, or triangular structures.

[0021] For determining Shore hardness, the DIN ISO 7619-1 standard specifies specific requirements for conducting measurements and calibrating the testing equipment. This includes the requirement that each measurement be performed on a test sample with a material thickness of at least 6 mm.

[0022] The application device in the range between Shore hardness 5 ShA and 60 ShA is so flexible that it adapts to the shape of the areas to be treated.

[0023] Furthermore, the application device made of polymer, preferably medically certified silicone or polyurethane (PUR) or thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), preferably thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), or vulcanized rubber, allows for reuse of the application device because it can be cleaned. The silicone is preferably an addition-curing RTV2 silicone rubber (platinum silicone) with a Shore hardness of 10 ShA. Silicone products are suitable for direct contact with the skin or mucous membranes.

[0024] Furthermore, the concentrically arranged protrusions ensure the controlled application of the ointments or creams and create a barrier that prevents the ointment or cream from leaking. It has been shown that a large number of concentric protrusions or structural profiles, arranged entirely in the plane of the patch, provide an effective barrier against the ointment or cream leaking. This can improve the absorption of the active ingredients in the ointments or creams into the body areas being treated. Furthermore, the patch can be worn safely, meaning that soiling of clothing can be avoided when wearing the patch in everyday life.

[0025] The projections can also be referred to as elevations, structural profiles, or sealing lips. They form concentric structural profiles on the skin side of the application device, arranged at a distance from each other. Thus, recesses are formed between the projections, which are essentially used for applying the ointment or cream.

[0026] In the alternative exemplary embodiments of the tubular application devices, the inner walls also have corresponding projections that extend completely around the inner wall and are arranged at certain intervals along the longitudinal direction of the tubular application device. A volume is thus formed between the projections into which an active ingredient can be applied. In one example, the fastening device can be designed such that the diameter at the edge sections is smaller than in the application section. This can prevent the plaster from slipping.

[0027] In a further example, the application device may at least partially comprise a pressure-sensitive adhesive on the edge portions.

[0028] Such a patch has the advantage of completely enclosing a body part, such as a joint. This allows the active ingredient to be applied to the area to be treated from all sides.

[0029] The spacing between the protrusions or concentric structural profiles and the resulting recesses form a receptacle for applying the ointments or creams to the plaster. The dimensions of the spacing, the height of the protrusions or recesses of the structural profiles, and the number of protrusions or structural profiles allow the desired dosage of ointment or cream to be adjusted. In other words, the dose of ointment or cream to be applied can be defined by adjusting the height of the protrusions and / or the spacing between the concentric structural profiles.

[0030] Furthermore, the projections or profile structures are dimensioned in such a way that the application device is so elastic that it does not restrict the mobility of the part of the body to which the plaster is applied.

[0031] The plaster can be made in one piece, with a pressure-sensitive adhesive applied to the skin side of the edge portion of the application device. The edge portion of the application device and / or the pressure-sensitive adhesive can be reprocessed after repeated use, allowing the plaster to be reused even if the adhesive strength diminishes.

[0032] The active ingredient can also be referred to as a drug and can be in the form of ointments, creams, powders, or other viscous forms. The concentric protrusions or structural profiles can consist of fully circumferential structures in one plane or of partially fully circumferential or interrupted structures. Furthermore, the spacing between the protrusions can be uniform and / or irregular. This allows the desired amount of active ingredient to be adjusted depending on the intended use by adjusting the shape and dimensions of the application section.

[0033] The patch can be applied to human or animal skin.

[0034] According to the invention, the plaster is in two parts, wherein the fastening device can be detachably connected to the application device via the upper side of the edge section of the application device.

[0035] The proposed two-part solution is advantageous because the plaster can be applied securely, non-slip, and easily, even on difficult-to-apply areas such as moving body parts, such as joints. This allows the application device and the fastening device to be tailored to the specific body part being treated. "Removable" in the context of the description means that the application device and the fastening device are two independent components of the plaster and can be connected and removed via an adhesive bond.

[0036] Preferably, the fastening device consists of a textile fabric or a randomly woven fabric, wherein the textile fabric has an adhesive on the skin side. In another example, the fastening device can have a reinforcement at the fastening point for application erection.

[0037] The difference in materials has the further effect that the area of skin to be treated, which is covered by the application device, can be held relatively non-slip on the skin, whereby the textile fabric is so elastic that it compensates for movements even in mobile areas of the body and ensures that the application device sits securely.

[0038] In a further advantageous embodiment, the application device is impermeable to water and air in order to occlusively seal the area on the skin.

[0039] It has been shown that a water- and air-tight design of the application device improves the penetration of the ointment or cream into the treated area of the body, as sweat cannot evaporate at the treated area, causing the skin to swell and increasing the permeability of the skin cell structures. This can improve the effectiveness of the active ingredient in the ointment or cream.

[0040] In contrast, the fastening device is preferably permeable to water and air. This reduces the stress on the skin at the adhesive site. Perspiration produced at the adhesive site can evaporate, thus unimpairing the adhesive effect of the fastening device.

[0041] Preferably, the fastening device comprises a release liner to protect the fastening device from external influences. In one example, the fastening device comprises a first and a second release liner, wherein the first release liner covers a first adhesive portion for attachment to the application device, and the second release liner covers a second adhesive portion for attachment of the fastening device to the skin.

[0042] According to a preferred embodiment, the application device is monolithic and preferably manufactured by an injection molding process.

[0043] This has the advantage that, in contrast to known plasters, which are formed by multi-layer structures or made of fiber composite materials, the service life and thus reusability can be improved. The monolithic structure thus prevents the application device from wearing down more quickly. The proposed plasters can be easily manufactured using injection molding in various sizes and with different outer contours. Such structural adaptation options for the shape and design of the projections or structural profiles are advantageous because they allow for quick, flexible, and easy adaptation to different body parts with different plaster requirements.

[0044] According to a further embodiment, the application device has a thickness of 1-10 mm, preferably 2 mm, and a height of 0.2 mm to 0.8 mm at the edge portion, wherein the application device is formed thinner, preferably linearly, substantially in the direction of the edge of the application device.

[0045] This can improve the fit of the patch as the surface area for accidental bumping or contact with an external object or item can be reduced.

[0046] According to the invention, the application device has a projection formed around the center of the application device on the top side of the application device, with a height of 0.5 mm - 5 mm, to center the fastening device. This also has the advantage of increasing the volume for introducing ointment.

[0047] This has the advantage that the fastening device is centered on the application device during attachment. In one example, the fastening device has a cutout in the center of the fastening device, the shape or diameter of which corresponds to the shape or diameter of the projection of the application device.

[0048] Particularly preferably, the projections in the application section are dimensioned in length relative to the edge section of the application device in such a way that they protrude between 0.1 mm-2 mm, preferably 1 mm, in the area of the application section with respect to the edge sections.

[0049] This has the advantage that the contact pressure of the projections or structural profiles on the skin is increased and the sealing effect of the projections or structural profiles can be improved in order to prevent the ointment or cream from leaking out of the plaster.

[0050] According to a further embodiment, the projections have a wave-shaped or knob-shaped or rod-shaped shape in cross section.

[0051] It has been shown that the wave-shaped cross-section provides an improved seal, as the contact surface on the skin is larger when pressed against the skin compared to a circular or oval, knob-shaped, or rod-shaped cross-section. Furthermore, the plaster is more flexible.

[0052] According to a further embodiment, the fastening device has a plurality of cutouts, preferably oval-shaped or circular cutouts. The cutouts are preferably arranged circumferentially at a uniform angular distance from one another.

[0053] By selecting the shape and number of cutouts, a wide range of elasticities can be achieved. Such structural adjustment options—that is, the choice of shape and design of the cutouts—are advantageous because they allow for quick, flexible, and easy adaptation to different body parts with different plaster requirements.

[0054] According to one embodiment, the projections are circular or square or oval or triangular in cross section. Short description of the characters

[0055] Preferred further embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail in the following description of the figures. In the figures: Fig. 1A-C are schematic top view and schematic cross-sectional views of a patch according to one embodiment; Fig. 2 a schematic perspective view of the patch according to an embodiment; Fig. 3A-C are schematic top view and schematic cross-sectional views of a patch with a centering projection on the top side according to another embodiment; Fig. 4 is a schematic plan view of a two-part patch according to one embodiment; Fig. 5A-B is a perspective view of a fastener having a split release liner according to one embodiment; Fig. 6A-D are schematic plan views and schematic cross-sectional views of a patch with alternative configurations of the projections in the application section of the application device according to one embodiment; Fig. 7 a schematic plan view and a schematic cross-sectional view of a plaster with alternative configurations of the projections in the application section of the application device according to a further embodiment; Fig. 8 AC schematic representations of exemplary embodiments of a fastening device of a pavement according to an embodiment; and Fig. 9A-D schematic views and a photograph of an alternative embodiment of a patch with a tubular application device. Detailed description of preferred embodiments

[0056] Preferred embodiments are described below with reference to the figures. Identical, similar, or equivalent elements in the different figures are provided with identical reference numerals, and a repeated description of these elements is partially omitted to avoid redundancies.

[0057] Fig. 1 shows a plaster for application to the skin, comprising an application device 12 with an application section 13 for applying an active ingredient and a fastening device 20, wherein the fastening device 20 is arranged on the edge section 14 of the application device 12 in order to apply the application device 12 to the skin in a slip-resistant manner. According to the invention, the application device 12 is made of a polymer with a Shore hardness between ShA 0 and ShA 60, preferably between ShA 5 and ShA 50, more preferably between ShA 10 and ShA 30, and particularly preferably ShA 10. The application device 12 has, in the application section 13, a plurality of projections 13a-n on a skin side 12a, which projections are arranged concentrically in the application section 13 starting from a center of the application device 12.

[0058] The plaster 10, as shown here by way of example, has a profile structure with concentrically arranged circular projections 13a-n, which serve to receive an active ingredient or medicament. The concentric projections 13a-n additionally have a sealing effect to prevent the active ingredient from leaking out of the plaster 10. The concentrically arranged projections 13a-n thus act simultaneously as a receptacle for an active ingredient to be applied to the plaster 10 or to the application section 13 and as a seal in the form of sealing lips. The edge region 14 consists of a smooth surface on the upper side. In one example, the skin side 12a or underside of the application device can have a pressure-sensitive adhesive for direct application to the skin.

[0059] The patch is made of a silicone mixture or TPU. Preferably, the patch is manufactured using an injection molding process. This allows the patch to be produced in any size with any structural profile. The application device 12 preferably has a thickness of 1-10 mm, preferably 2 mm, and a height of 0.2 mm to 0.8 mm at the edge portion 12b, with the application device 12 being thinner, preferably linearly, substantially toward the edge of the application device 12.

[0060] In the example shown here, the patch 10 has a diameter of 70 mm and a height of 3 mm (see Fig. 1B-C).

[0061] As in Fig. 1B, the patch 10 is shown schematically in its cross-sectional shape. In an advantageous embodiment, the projections 13a-n have a knob-like cross-section. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 6B, the application device 12 can also have a wave-shaped structure. The wave-shaped structure has the advantage that the sealing effect of the projections 13a-n or structural profiles is increased after the patch 10 is applied to the skin.

[0062] The edge section can be as in Fig. 1B, the adhesive bandage can be thinner toward the edge. This prevents the plaster from protruding too far from the skin and prevents it from catching on external objects. This has the beneficial effect of improving or reducing the risk of the plaster slipping.

[0063] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 1C, the wave-shaped projections 13a-n or structural profiles can have a height of 1.5 mm to 4 mm. The wave flank can, for example, form an angle of 80° to 120° with the longitudinal axis L of the paving. The distance between the projections or structural profiles can, for example, be between 2 and 6 mm, preferably 4 mm.

[0064] Furthermore, the edge area of the application device can have a radius of 20 mm.

[0065] The proposed plaster has the advantage of being reusable, as it is made of washable material and is also flexible, allowing it to be applied to mobile parts of the body, such as joints.

[0066] The concentric structural profiles have proven particularly advantageous in preventing cream from leaking from the edge area. Furthermore, the choice of material—silicone or TPU—prevents the active ingredient in ointments or creams from seeping through the patch, allowing the patch to be worn easily under clothing in everyday life.

[0067] Fig. 2 shows the plaster made of Fig. 1A-1C in perspective view. The edge portion 14 can be processed in such a way, e.g., by means of a pressure-sensitive adhesive, that the edge portion serves at least partially as a fastening device 20.

[0068] Fig. 3A-C show a patch according to another embodiment. As in Fig. As shown in a schematic side view in Figure 3C, the patch can have a centering projection on the upper side 12b in the area of the application device 12. This allows the volume for the active ingredient to be increased. Furthermore, the centering projection 15 can also serve as a centering device for a fastening device 20, which can be releasably attached to the edge section 14 of the patch 10.

[0069] Fig. 4 shows, by way of example, a schematic plan view of a two-part plaster 10 with an application device 12 and a fastening device 20.

[0070] The application device 12 may further comprise a pressure-sensitive adhesive on the skin side 12a at the edge portion 14.

[0071] The fastening device 20 is detachably connectable to the application device 12 via the edge portion 14 of the application device 12. The fastening device 20 can consist of a textile fabric, wherein the textile fabric has an adhesive on the skin side 12a. Furthermore, the fastening device 20 can comprise a release film (see Fig. 5A) in order to protect the fastening device 20 from external influences, wherein the fastening device 20 has a first and a second release film, wherein the first release film covers a first adhesive section 20a for attaching the fastening device 20 to the application device and the second release film covers a second adhesive section 20a for attaching to the skin. In the example shown here, the fastening device 20 has a first adhesive section 20a on the skin side, which connects the fastening device 20 to the application device 12. Furthermore, in the example shown here, the fastening device 20 has a second adhesive section 20b on the skin side, which connects the fastening device 20 to the skin 12 and thus connects the plaster 10 to the body part to be treated. The fastening device can consist of a textile fabric, wherein the textile fabric has an adhesive on the skin side 12a.

[0072] In the example shown here, the application device has a centering projection 15 formed around the center of the application device (see Fig. 3C) on the top side 12b of the application device at a height of 0.5mm -2mm in order to center the fastening device 20.

[0073] This has the advantage that the fastening device 20 is centered upon attachment to the application device 12. In one example, the fastening device has a centering cutout 24 in the center of the fastening device 20, the shape or diameter of which corresponds to the shape or diameter of the centering projection 15 of the application device.

[0074] In an advantageous embodiment, the fastening device 20 has a plurality of cutouts 22. This can improve the elasticity of the plaster 10 and the plaster's freedom of movement. In the example shown here, a plurality of oval-shaped cutouts or circular cutouts can be arranged at a uniform distance from the center or at a uniform angular distance around the entire circumference of the edge region of the fastening device. The cutouts are preferably arranged at an angular distance of 20-30° from one another.

[0075] In a like in Fig. 6D, the projections 13a-n in the application section 12 can be dimensioned in length (ÜL) relative to the edge section 12b of the application device 12 such that they protrude between 0.1 mm and 2 mm, preferably 1 mm, in the area of the application section 13 with respect to the edge sections.

[0076] As shown in the cross-sectional view from Fig. 6D, the projections 13a-n or structural profiles can have a length that protrudes beyond the underside or skin side 12a of the application section 13.

[0077] In other words, the application section 13 is thicker or higher than the edge sections 14 of the application device 12. This further increases the sealing effect, since the projections 13a-n or structural profiles are compressed when the patch is applied to the skin.

[0078] Fig. 5A and Fig. 5B show a skin side 20a and the underside of the fastening device 20, respectively. The fastening device has a pressure-sensitive adhesive on its underside, which is covered by one or, as shown here, multi-part release liner 21, 23. This allows the various adhesive sections 20a, 20b to be gradually removed from the release liner 21, 23. In one example, the first release liner 23 can first be peeled off to attach the fastening device 20 to the edge section of the application device 12. After the application device 12 and the fastening device 20 are connected, the second release liner 21 can next be peeled off, and the plaster 10 can be applied to the skin via the adhesive section 20b.

[0079] Fig. 6A -6D show further possible configurations of the application device 12 or the structures of the projections in the application section 13. In Fig. 7B, the application device 12 in the application section 13 is depicted as a wave-shaped structure. In Fig. 7D, the projections 13a-n are shown with an excess length ÜL relative to the edge portion 14 of the application device 12.

[0080] As in Fig. As shown in Figures 7A-7B, the projections 13a-n in the application section 13 can have various configurations. For example, the projections 13a-13 can be configured as nubs toward the center of the plaster 10, and then have a wave-like structure toward the edge of the plaster 10. This can increase the flexibility of the plaster 10 for specific applications, e.g., body joints.

[0081] Fig. 8A-C show exemplary configurations of the patch 10 depending on the application. As already mentioned, the proposed configuration of the patch 10 is advantageous because it can be adapted to the specific characteristics of the body joint. Fig. Figure 8A, for example, schematically shows a plaster for the back area, particularly between the shoulder joints. Because the fastening device is made of a textile fabric or randomly woven fabric, sufficient freedom of movement can be ensured. The plasters 10 made of Fig. 8B and Fig. 8C can be applied to various parts of the body. The fastening device 20, which is attached to the edge portion 14 of the application device 12, can be individually adapted to different circumstances.

[0082] As shown, both the application device 12 and the fastening device 20 can be designed in various shapes. This allows for adaptation to different body parts with different requirements.

[0083] Fig.9A-D show an alternative embodiment of a plaster 10. In the alternative embodiment, the application device is tubular. The application device 12 has wave-shaped projections 13a-n in the application section, at least on the inner wall. As shown in the schematic cross-sectional view 9D, the wall can alternatively be designed as a wave profile. This can further increase the flexibility of the plaster.

[0084] Thus, a volume is formed between the projections into which an active ingredient can be applied. In one example, the fastening device 20 can be designed such that the diameter at the edge portions 14 is smaller than in the application portion 13. This prevents the plaster from slipping.

[0085] Such a patch has the advantage of completely enclosing a body part, such as a joint. This allows the active ingredient to be applied to the area to be treated from all sides.

[0086] Optionally, the patch may have tabs 26 to allow the patch 10 to be applied to or removed from the body part to be treated.

[0087] Where applicable, all individual features presented in the embodiments may be combined and / or exchanged without departing from the scope of the invention.
