Abstract

Grilling appliance with a cooking surface, with at least one heat source arranged below the cooking surface, and with an assembly arranged above the cooking surface that is adjustable to different positions and has an upper heat source (11, 20, 43, 56) preferably designed as a surface heater, in which positions of the assembly with its upper heat source (11, 20, 43, 56) in a first radiation position the heat radiation direction is directed towards the top of the cooking surface for heating food with top heat and in a second radiation position the heat radiation direction is directed in a direction for heating food laterally, wherein for adjusting the assembly with the upper heat source (11, 20, 43, 56) between the two radiation positions it is pivotably mounted about a horizontal pivot axis (14, 34, 44, 57), characterized in that the assembly with the upper heat source (11, 20, 43,56) to the output side of an adjustment mechanism designed as a linkage chain, comprising a user-operated control element (24, 49, 49.1) and at least one connecting element (30, 51, 51.1) driven via the control element (24, 49, 49.1) and acting on the assembly with its upper heat source (11, 20, 43, 56) at a distance from its pivot axis (34, 44, 57), so that the upper heat source (11, 20, 43, 56) can be pivoted by adjusting the control element (24, 49, 49.1).
