Preservation by Vaporization

Significant research is being done to develop and improve delivery mechanisms for biopharmaceuticals and vaccines, including pulmonary (inhalation), nasal, transdermal, and oral alternatives. Market projections indicate that the delivery of proteins and vaccines by inhalation and oral formulation has become and will continue to be increasingly important. These delivery mechanisms, to be effective, will require better stabilization of the biologicals so that they can maintain potency and effectiveness at ambient temperatures for extended periods of time. The novel Preservation by Vaporization (PBV) Technology described herein provides cost-effective and efficient industrial scale stabilization of proteins, viruses, bacteria, and other sensitive biologicals, thereby allowing a production of products that are not possible to be produced by existing methods. The suggested new PBV process comprises primary drying under vacuum from a partially frozen state (i.e. slush) at near subzero temperatures followed by stability drying at elevated temperatures (i.e., above 40 degrees Celsius). The new suggested method can be performed aseptically in unit doze format (in vials) and/or in bulk format (in trays, bags, or other containers). The drying can be performed as a continuous load process in a manifold vacuum dryer comprising a plurality (e.g., 30) of vacuum chambers attached to a condenser during the drying.

Laundry appliance

A drum hatch engaging mechanism is for inclusion in a laundry appliance having a cabinet and a drum rotatable within the cabinet. The mechanism includes a drum hatch engaging member connected with the cabinet with the connection providing for movement of the member between non-engagement and engagement positions. An actuator is provided to selectively move the drum hatch engaging member between the positions. A catch member is connected with a sliding hatch of the drum. The connection between the catch member and the sliding hatch provides for movement of the catch member between a position adjacent the skin of the drum and an outwardly displaced position. The drum hatch engaging member includes a ramped abutment to engage and lift the catch member to the outer position through movement of the catch member toward the abutment during an opening rotation of the drum. The hatch engaging member includes a closing abutment facing the ramped abutment. The closing abutment butts against the catch member during a closing rotation of the drum. There is a catch member support surface on the drum which tracks the circumference of the drum skin at a level to cooperate with the drum hatch engaging member. The support surface and the drum hatch engaging member cooperate to entrap the catch member in the outward position during opening and closing rotations of the drum. With a single actuator the mechanism can reliably open and close the drum without stopping the drum to engage and / or disengage from the drum hatch.

Medical instrument sterilization, cleaning and drying integral equipment

The invention discloses medical instrument sterilization, cleaning and drying integral equipment which comprises a tank body, a threaded rod, a first motor, a movable block, a rotating shaft, a spring, a holding frame, a gear, a sterilization device, a cleaning device, a drying device, a collecting frame and a rack, wherein the sterilization device comprises a disinfectant tank, a first pump body,a second motor and a brush plate; the cleaning device comprises a water tank, a second pump body and a cleaning plate; the drying device comprises a drying plate, a drying lamp and an ultraviolet raysterilization lamp. Due to adoption of the sterilization device, a disinfectant can be sprayed while a medical instrument is brushed, so that the sterilization effect is improved; due to adoption ofthe cleaning device, the disinfectant is prevented from being retained on the medical instrument to do harm to skin of medical operators; due to adoption of the drying machine, two drying modes are implemented simultaneously, so that a rapid drying speed and a good drying effect are achieved; due to adoption of the gear and the rack, a medical instrument in the holding frame can automatically slide into the collecting frame conveniently and rapidly, and meanwhile the consequence that the medical instrument is contaminated again as operators contact the medical instrument is avoided.
