DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0028] The following description is for illustrative purposes only. It is understood that in the drawings, corresponding reference symbols denote identical or equivalent parts and features.

[0029] A vehicle according to an example is in Fig. 1 generally designated by 10. The vehicle 10 comprises a body 12, which is supported on a plurality of wheels, two of which are designated by 14. The body 12 partially defines a passenger compartment 16 in which a driver's seat 18 and a front passenger seat 20 are arranged. Access to the driver's seat 20 is through a door on the driver's side 22, and access to the front passenger seat 20 is through a rear front passenger door 23.

[0030] In Fig. Figure 1 shows the passenger seat 20 as a rear passenger seat, which is attached to a support column 24, as will be explained in more detail below. This means that, in one example, the rear passenger seat 20 has the shape of a swivel chair 30. It should be understood that the swivel chair 30, although shown as the left rear passenger seat 20, can be installed on the opposite side of the vehicle 10 as a front passenger seat and / or as a rear passenger seat.

[0031] With reference to Fig. 2 and Fig. According to an example, the revolving door chair 30 comprises a support frame 42, which is pivotally attached to the support column 24, and a chair 45 located within the support frame 42. The chair 45 can simply rest within the support frame 42, or it can be mechanically connected to the support frame 42. The support frame 42 includes a base 48, which is connected to the support column 24 via a side element 50. The support frame 42 also includes a chair bracket 52 with a first lateral support element 54. The support frame 42 also includes a second lateral support element 56.

[0032] As in Fig. 4 and Fig.As shown in Figure 5, the base 48 comprises a first base element 60, a second base element 62 spaced apart from the first base element 60, a third base element 64 extending between the first base element 60 and the second base element 62 and connecting them, and a fourth base element 66 spaced apart from the third base element 64, extending between the first base element 60 and the second base element 62 and connecting them. The support frame 42 further comprises a front chair support element 70 and a rear chair support element 72. At a

[0033] For example, the front chair support element 70 extends substantially parallel to the first base element 60 and connects the first side support element 54 to the second side support element 56. The rear chair support element 72 comprises a first angled section 75 and extends between the side element 50 and the first side support element 54, connecting them. A second angled section 76 extends between the second side support element 56 and the fourth base element 66. The second angled section 76 is also connected to the front chair support element 70.

[0034] The support frame 42 further comprises a hinged floor bracket 80 with a wheel 82, which is mounted between the third base element 64 and the fourth base element 66. A locking element 84 is provided on the third base element 64 adjacent to the front seat mounting element 70. The locking element 84 secures (e.g., holds) the revolving door seat 30 in the passenger compartment 16, as will be explained in more detail below.

[0035] In one example, the chair 45 comprises a seat section 86 and a back section 88. The seat section 86 rests on the base 48, the first lateral support element 54, and the front chair support element 70. The back section 88 rests on the rear chair support element 72 and the first angled section 75. The chair 45 can be secured to the support frame 42 by one or more connecting pieces (not shown). To provide support for a passenger, the back section 88 comprises a first side cushion 92 and a second side cushion 94. The first and second side cushions 92 and 94 extend outward from the back section 88.

[0036] In one example, the revolving door chair 30 is located in the passenger compartment 16 under normal conditions (e.g., while the vehicle 10 is in motion, when the vehicle 10 is parked and unoccupied, or at other times when the occupants are getting in and / or out). In the passenger compartment 16, the locking element 84 engages with a locking part (not shown) to secure the revolving door chair 30. The locking element 84 can engage with a bolt, a magnet, or another structure that prevents movement of the support frame 42.

[0037] If a passenger needs assistance entering or exiting the vehicle 10, the swivel chair 30 can pivot or rotate outwards. The side element 50 is connected to the support column 24 via a first hinge 100 and a second hinge 102. This means that the locking element 84 is disengaged, allowing the support frame 42 to rotate around the first hinge 100 and the second hinge 102. When the base 48 leaves the passenger compartment 16, the floor support 80 lowers and the wheel 82 rests on a support surface (e.g., the floor) to allow the support frame 42 and the chair 45 to rotate outwards. At this point, a passenger can exit or enter the chair 45. After the passenger has exited the chair 45, the swivel chair 30 can be rotated back into the passenger compartment 16 and locked in place. Vehicle 10 can then continue its journey.
