Description

[0001] The invention relates to a method for determining an amount of electrical energy supplied by a motor vehicle to an electrical network, a corresponding device, a computer program and a computer-readable storage medium.

[0002] Due to increasing electrification, it may be necessary to purchase electrical power on a short-term basis via an electricity market and feed it into the electrical network in order to cover short-term peak loads caused by the energy demand of electrical consumers within an electrical network.

[0003] To balance the electrical power supply or energy generation with the electrical power demand or energy consumption in an electrical network, flexibility is required on both the supply and demand sides. Electrical energy storage systems, such as those used in electrically powered vehicles, are capable of providing the required energy flexibility by predicting or specifying a typical time for arrival and departure from an electric charging station based on user profiles. Between these two times, the electrically powered vehicle can absorb or, if necessary, release electrical energy.

[0004] One object of the present invention is to provide a particularly efficient method for determining the amount of electrical energy supplied by a motor vehicle to an electrical network. Furthermore, a device and a computer program capable of implementing such a method are to be provided. Furthermore, a computer-readable storage medium comprising such a computer program is to be provided.

[0005] The problem is solved by the subject matter of the independent patent claims. Advantageous embodiments are characterized in the subclaims.

[0006] According to a first aspect, the invention relates to a method for determining the amount of electrical energy supplied by a motor vehicle to an electrical network. The amount of electrical energy supplied by the motor vehicle to the electrical network is a quantity of electrical energy supplied by the motor vehicle and not necessarily a quantity of electrical energy drawn from the electrical network.

[0007] The method determines the total capacity of the motor vehicle. The total capacity of the motor vehicle, here and in the following, refers to the total capacity of the motor vehicle's energy storage device. The motor vehicle is, for example, an electrically powered vehicle.

[0008] Furthermore, the method determines a lower capacity value and an upper capacity value, wherein the lower capacity value and the upper capacity value are representative of a lower limit value and an upper limit value with regard to the total capacity of the motor vehicle.

[0009] The lower and upper capacity values can be used to specify a range of the vehicle's total capacity within which the vehicle provides an amount of electrical energy to the electrical network. For example, the capacity above the lower capacity value and below the upper capacity value are provided to the electrical network as electrical energy.

[0010] The lower and upper capacity values can, for example, be specified by a user of the motor vehicle or determined using a predetermined behavior model of the user of the motor vehicle. The predetermined behavior model can, for example, provide a lower and an upper charge level of the energy storage device of the motor vehicle as the lower and upper limit values, respectively. If the lower or upper limit values are undershot or exceeded, it is assumed that the user will not provide any further electrical energy to the electrical network. The behavior model can, for example, be adapted to behavior observed in the user. For example, the behavior model can be trained. For this purpose, it can, for example, comprise an artificial neural network.

[0011] Furthermore, a supply period is determined, whereby the supply period is representative of a period during which the motor vehicle supplies electrical energy to the electrical network. The supply period is determined depending on a first period of time, whereby the first period of time is representative of a period during which the motor vehicle is connected to the electric charging station.

[0012] The amount of electrical energy provided by the motor vehicle is determined depending on the charge level of the motor vehicle, the total capacity of the motor vehicle, the lower and upper capacity values and the provision period.

[0013] In addition, the method stores information on the amount of electrical energy provided by the motor vehicle.

[0014] The method for determining the amount of electrical energy supplied by a motor vehicle to an electrical network makes it possible to determine particularly efficiently which amount of electrical energy of the motor vehicle the electrical network can access, for example in order to carry out a compensating measure to adjust an electrical power supply to an electrical power demand in the electrical network, for example in order to reduce short-term load peaks due to an increased energy demand of consumers in the electrical network.

[0015] Alternatively, the method can be used to determine which amount of electrical energy from the motor vehicle an electrical network can access in order to temporarily store electrical energy from the electrical network in the motor vehicle or the energy storage device of the motor vehicle by means of a compensating measure for adjusting an electrical power supply to an electrical power demand in the electrical network, for example in order to reduce excess energy in the electrical network or an electrical power supply in the electrical network.

[0016] Furthermore, the method can advantageously optimize charging and discharging processes of the motor vehicle in that the electrical network uses the information on the amount of electrical energy provided by the motor vehicle in order to, for example, provide optimal charging power for a charging process of the motor vehicle.

[0017] In an advantageous embodiment according to the first aspect, the provision period is determined as a function of a second time period, wherein the second time period is representative of a time period in which the motor vehicle is charged up to the lower capacity value.

[0018] The provision period is representative of a period of time during which the motor vehicle provides electrical energy to the electrical network. The motor vehicle provides the electrical network with an amount of electrical energy above the lower capacity value. If the charge level of the motor vehicle is below the lower capacity value when the motor vehicle is connected to an electrical charging station, the motor vehicle will therefore only be charged to at least the lower capacity value. The second period of time corresponds to the time during which the motor vehicle is charged up to the lower capacity value. The provision period is determined, for example, by subtracting the second period of time from the first period of time, whereby the first period of time is representative of a period of time during which the motor vehicle is connected to the electrical charging station.

[0019] By determining the supply period depending on the second time period, the period during which the motor vehicle supplies electrical energy to the electrical network can be determined more precisely.

[0020] In a further advantageous embodiment according to the first aspect, the availability period is determined depending on a third period of time. The third period of time is representative of the period during which the motor vehicle is charged to a target charge level.

[0021] The target charge level of the motor vehicle can, for example, be specified by the user of the motor vehicle or determined using the predetermined behavior model of the user of the motor vehicle.

[0022] Reaching the target charge level can be considered a prerequisite for whether the motor vehicle provides an amount of electrical energy to the electrical network. The third time period corresponds to the time period of the charging or discharging process of the motor vehicle up to the target charge level. For example, no electrical energy is provided to the electrical network by the motor vehicle during the third time period. The provision period is determined, for example, by subtracting the third time period from the first time period, where the first time period represents a period during which the motor vehicle is connected to the electrical charging station.

[0023] By determining the supply period depending on the third time period, the period during which the motor vehicle supplies electrical energy to the electrical network can be determined more precisely.

[0024] In a further advantageous embodiment according to the first aspect, the amount of electrical energy provided is determined as a function of a factor, wherein the factor depends on whether the motor vehicle is designed to feed energy into the electrical network via a bidirectional charging function.

[0025] Through a bidirectional charging function of the motor vehicle, the electrical network can, for example, feed energy from the motor vehicle into the electrical network via a balancing measure to adjust an electrical power supply to an electrical power demand in the electrical network or charge excess energy from the electrical network into the motor vehicle, whereby the motor vehicle serves, for example, as an intermediate storage device for electrical energy of the electrical network.

[0026] Since electrical energy can be drawn from the electrical grid on the one hand and fed into it on the other, a factor is introduced to account for this flexibility when determining the amount of electrical energy supplied by the motor vehicle. The factor is predefined. For example, the amount of energy supplied to the electrical grid by a motor vehicle with a bidirectional charging function is taken into account with a factor of two or four.

[0027] In a further advantageous embodiment according to the first aspect, the amount of electrical energy provided is determined as a function of a predetermined coupling time at the electrical charging station and an actual coupling time at the electrical charging station.

[0028] The specified connection time refers, for example, to a connection time planned by the motor vehicle user for the motor vehicle to the electric charging station. For example, the planned connection time can be read from the electrical network or communicated to the electrical network, which can be used to determine a forecast of the electrical power supply and demand in the electrical network. For example, if there is a difference between the planned or specified connection time and the actual connection time, the amount of electrical energy supplied by the motor vehicle can be adjusted.

[0029] In a further advantageous embodiment according to the first aspect, the amount of electrical energy provided is determined as a function of a predetermined decoupling time at the electrical charging station and an actual decoupling time at the electrical charging station.

[0030] The specified disconnection time refers, for example, to a disconnection time planned by the motor vehicle user for the motor vehicle at the electric charging station. For example, the planned disconnection time can be read from the electrical network or communicated to the electrical network, which can be used to determine a forecast of the electrical power supply and demand in the electrical network. For example, if there is a difference between the planned or specified disconnection time and the actual disconnection time, the amount of electrical energy supplied by the motor vehicle can be adjusted.

[0031] According to a second aspect, the invention relates to a device for determining the amount of electrical energy supplied by a motor vehicle to an electrical network. The device is designed to carry out the method according to one of claims 1 to 6.

[0032] According to a third aspect, the invention relates to a computer program comprising instructions which, when the computer program is executed by a computer, cause the computer to carry out the method according to the first aspect.

[0033] According to a fourth aspect, the invention relates to a computer-readable storage medium on which the computer program according to the third aspect is stored.

[0034] Embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the schematic drawings.

[0035] They show: Fig. 1 is a flowchart of a program for determining the amount of electrical energy supplied by a motor vehicle to an electrical network; and Fig. 2 an exemplary scenario for determining an amount of electrical energy supplied by a motor vehicle to an electrical network during a charging process of a motor vehicle.

[0036] Elements of the same construction or function are provided with the same reference symbols throughout the figures.

[0037] The Fig. 1 shows a flowchart of a program for determining an amount of electrical energy supplied by a motor vehicle to an electrical network.

[0038] A control device 50 is configured to execute the program. For this purpose, the control device 50 comprises, in particular, a computing unit, a program and data memory, and, for example, one or more communication interfaces. The program and data memory and / or the computing unit and / or the communication interfaces can be implemented in a single unit and / or distributed across multiple units.

[0039] The control device 50 can also be referred to as a device for determining an amount of electrical energy supplied by a motor vehicle to an electrical network.

[0040] For this purpose, the program is stored in particular on the program and data memory of the control device 50.

[0041] The program is started in a step S1, in which variables can be initialized if necessary.

[0042] For example, the program is started immediately after a motor vehicle is connected to an electric charging station.

[0043] In step S3, the total capacity of the motor vehicle is determined. The motor vehicle is, for example, an electrically powered vehicle. The total capacity of the motor vehicle refers, for example, to an energy storage device of the motor vehicle.

[0044] In step S5, a lower capacity value and an upper capacity value are determined, wherein the lower capacity value and the upper capacity value represent a lower limit and an upper limit with respect to the total capacity of the motor vehicle. For example, the lower and upper limit values are charge levels of the motor vehicle specified by a user of the motor vehicle. For example, the lower capacity value represents a charge level of the motor vehicle of 20%, and the upper capacity value represents a charge level of the motor vehicle of 80%.

[0045] In step S7, a supply period is determined, wherein the supply period is representative of a period during which the motor vehicle supplies electrical energy to the electrical network. The supply period is determined as a function of a first period of time, wherein the first period of time is representative of a period during which the motor vehicle is connected to the electric charging station.

[0046] In a step S9, the amount of electrical energy provided by the motor vehicle is determined as a function of a charge level of the motor vehicle, the total capacity of the motor vehicle, the lower and upper capacity values and the provision period.

[0047] The charge level of the motor vehicle is known, for example, immediately after the motor vehicle is connected to the electric charging station. The amount of electrical energy provided by the motor vehicle is determined, for example, by multiplying a capacity range between the lower and upper capacity values by the supply period. The result of determining the amount of electrical energy provided by the motor vehicle can be represented, for example, as an abstract unit. For example, the determined amount of electrical energy provided can be expressed in "energy points."

[0048] In a step S11, information on the amount of electrical energy provided by the motor vehicle is stored.

[0049] As soon as information on the amount of electrical energy provided by the motor vehicle is stored, the program is terminated in a step S13 and can be restarted if necessary.

[0050] The Fig. 2 shows an exemplary scenario for determining an amount of electrical energy supplied by a motor vehicle to an electrical network during a charging process of a motor vehicle.

[0051] The Fig. The graph shown in Figure 2 shows a vehicle's charge level as a function of the time the vehicle is connected to an electric charging station. Time t0, for example, represents the time at which the vehicle is connected to the electric charging station. Time t4, for example, represents the time at which the vehicle's charging process ends. For example, the vehicle is uncoupled from the electric charging station at time t4.

[0052] In the example scenario, the vehicle user specified a lower capacity value at a charge level of SOC1 and an upper capacity value at a charge level of SOC4. The user also specified a target charge level at SOC4. The charge levels SOC1 and SOC4 represent, for example, charge levels of 20% and 80%.

[0053] After the Fig. In the example shown in Figure 2, the charging process of the almost completely discharged motor vehicle starts immediately after the motor vehicle is connected to the electric charging station at time t0 and reaches the lower capacity value for the charge level SOC1 at time t1.

[0054] At time t2, the vehicle's charging process is interrupted and a discharging process is initiated. Between times t2 and t3, the vehicle is discharged. For example, the discharging process is initiated due to a balancing measure to match the electrical power supply in the electrical network to the electrical power demand in the electrical network.

[0055] For example, between times t2 and t3, the power demand in the electrical network must be reduced or the power supply in the electrical network must be increased, which is why the balancing measure uses the electrical energy within the vehicle.

[0056] At time t3, the compensation measure is terminated and the vehicle's charging process is restarted, as otherwise, for example, the target charge level of SOC4 will not be reached. Reaching the specified target charge level can be considered a priority condition. In the example scenario, the vehicle requires the period between t3 and t4 to reach the target charge level at SOC4.

[0057] The availability period is determined, for example, based on a first, second, and third period. The first period represents, for example, the period between coupling at time t0 and uncoupling of the motor vehicle at time t4. The second period represents, for example, the period between times t0 and t1 in which the charge level of the motor vehicle is below the specified lower capacity value. The third period represents, for example, the period between times t3 and t4 in which the motor vehicle must be charged to reach the specified target charge level. The availability period can be calculated, for example, by subtracting the second and third periods from the first period.

[0058] The amount of electrical energy supplied by the motor vehicle to the electrical network is determined, for example, by multiplying the capacity range between the lower capacity value SOC1 and the upper capacity value SOC4 by the supply period, which in this scenario is representative of the period between t1 and t3. The result of determining the amount of electrical energy supplied by the motor vehicle can, for example, be represented as an abstract unit. For example, the determined amount of electrical energy supplied can be expressed in "energy points." For example, the amount of electrical energy supplied is stored. For example, the user of the motor vehicle can be informed about the amount of electrical energy supplied.

[0059] For example, through a balancing measure to match the supply of electrical power to the demand for electrical power, excess energy not temporarily stored in the motor vehicle can be traded on an electricity market as control power for another electrical network, thereby generating a trading profit. For example, the determined amount of electrical energy supplied can be used to determine the motor vehicle user's share of the trading profit.
