Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a surge arrester arrangement.
[0002] A surge arrester is designed to limit electrical overvoltages, such as those that can occur during a lightning strike. For this purpose, a surge arrester is typically designed as a surge arrester column containing a stack of varistor elements. To provide sufficient surge protection, such surge arrester columns can be very long, for example, up to several meters, and correspondingly heavy, and therefore require support.
[0003] In particular, surge arresters in gas-insulated applications are often housed in enclosures that can be correspondingly long and heavy. In such a surge arrester arrangement, the arrester column must be mechanically securely positioned within the enclosure, taking into account all design-relevant mechanical loads. Due to manufacturing tolerances and the type of arrester column construction, radial tolerances, caused, for example, by an inclination of the arrester column, as well as axial tolerances, such as length tolerances of the arrester column, must be considered when installing it in the enclosure. Therefore, due to the length of the arrester column, axial and radial compensation are generally necessary to securely position the arrester column in its installation position.
[0004] WO 2022 / 073722 A1 discloses a conductor arrangement comprising an electrical conductor, a surge arrester, and an electrically insulating support. The support is arranged longitudinally along the surge arrester between the surge arrester and the electrical conductor.
[0005] The support is supported by the electrical conductor, and the surge arrester is supported by the support.
[0006] The invention is based on the objective of providing a surge arrester arrangement with an arrester column that can be relatively long and therefore must be appropriately supported.
[0007] The problem is solved according to the invention by a surge arrester arrangement with the features of claim 1.
[0008] Advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of the subclaims.
[0009] A surge arrester arrangement according to the invention comprises - a drainage column, - a housing in which the surge arrester column is arranged and which has a housing wall that surrounds the surge arrester column at a distance from the surge arrester column, and - a support device connected to the surge arrester column and the housing wall, which supports the surge arrester column against the housing wall.
[0010] The statement that the surge arrester arrangement comprises a surge arrester column is not to be understood as meaning that the surge arrester arrangement has only one surge arrester column. Rather, the surge arrester arrangement can have several surge arrester columns. The statement is therefore to be understood as meaning that the surge arrester arrangement has at least one surge arrester column. An embodiment of a surge arrester arrangement according to the invention with several surge arrester columns is shown in the figures.
[0011] A surge arrester arrangement according to the invention thus comprises a surge arrester column arranged in a housing. This allows the surge arrester arrangement to be designed, in particular, as gas-insulated, by making the housing fluid-tight. The surge arrester column is supported by a support device against a housing wall of the surge arrester arrangement, the housing wall surrounding the surge arrester column at a distance from it. This allows the surge arrester column to be electrically insulated from the housing wall by the support device and laterally supported against the housing wall, thus preventing damage from external forces and / or deflection or tilting of the surge arrester column due to its own weight.
[0012] In one embodiment of the invention, the support device includes a coupling element arranged between a first column section of the surge arrester column and a second column section of the surge arrester column. The coupling element connects the surge arrester column to the support device. For this purpose, the coupling element is arranged between two column sections of the surge arrester column, each of which rests against the coupling element. If the surge arrester arrangement has multiple surge arrester columns, the support device can have a coupling element for each surge arrester column, arranged between two column sections of the surge arrester column.
[0013] In a further embodiment of the invention, the surge arrester arrangement has a connecting element that connects the first column section and the second column section and is guided through a coupling element recess in the coupling element, wherein the coupling element recess has a larger diameter than the connecting element.
[0014] The statement that the surge arrester assembly has such a connecting element is not to be understood as meaning that the surge arrester assembly has only one such connecting element. Rather, the surge arrester assembly can have several such connecting elements. The statement is therefore to be understood as meaning that the surge arrester assembly has at least one such connecting element. If the surge arrester assembly has several arrester columns and a coupling element for each of them, the surge arrester assembly can have at least one such connecting element for each arrester column. Each of these connecting elements connects two column sections of an arrester column and is guided through a coupling element recess in the coupling element that is arranged between the column sections. The coupling element recess has a larger diameter than the connecting element. This allows the coupling element to be moved relative to the column when connecting the column sections of the surge arrester, for example to compensate for radial tolerances or an inclination of the surge arrester. The connecting elements are, for example, screws.
[0015] In a further embodiment of the invention, the support device comprises a carrier element with a carrier recess in which the coupling element is arranged. If the surge arrester arrangement has several arrester columns and a coupling element for each of these, the carrier element can have a carrier recess for each coupling element. The carrier recesses in the carrier element hold and position the coupling elements so that each is assigned to a specific arrester column.
[0016] In a further embodiment of the invention, the support device has a sliding ring that rests against an edge of the support recess and against the coupling element, allowing the coupling element to slide relative to the support element along a longitudinal axis of the surge arrester column. If the surge arrester arrangement has several arrester columns, each with its own coupling element, the support device can have a sliding ring for each coupling element. This sliding ring rests against an edge of the support recess in which the coupling element is arranged and against the coupling element itself, allowing the coupling element to slide relative to the support element along a longitudinal axis of the arrester column connected to the coupling element. The sliding ring secures the coupling element in the support recess and allows axial manufacturing tolerances to be compensated for when connecting the column sections of the arrester column.
[0017] In a further embodiment of the invention, the support device has several support units, each connecting the housing wall and the support element. By connecting the support element to the housing wall via several support units, the support element can be securely and stably supported against the housing wall.
[0018] In a further embodiment of the invention, the housing wall has an opening for each support unit through which the support unit is guided. This simplifies the assembly of the surge arrester arrangement by guiding each support unit through an opening in the housing wall.
[0019] In a further embodiment of the invention, each support unit is connected to the housing wall by a support flange connection. For example, each support flange connection between the housing wall and a support unit has a wall flange arranged on the outside of the housing wall and a support flange of the support unit corresponding to the wall flange. Such support flange connections allow the support units to be attached to the housing wall externally, thus facilitating easy installation. Furthermore, fluid-tight connections between the support units and the housing wall can be achieved using such support flange connections.
[0020] In a further embodiment of the invention, each support unit is connected to the carrier element by a detachable connection. The detachable connection preferably has play in a direction parallel to a longitudinal axis of the support unit. This enables modular assembly of the support unit, in which the carrier element is connected to the support units, for example, after the support units have been attached to the housing wall. Play in the detachable connection of a support unit to the carrier element in a direction parallel to a longitudinal axis of the support unit advantageously allows the carrier element to shift relative to the support unit when connecting the carrier element to the support unit, in order to compensate for radial tolerances.
[0021] In a further embodiment of the invention, the housing comprises a first housing part and a second housing part. For example, the first housing part and the second housing part are connected to each other in a ring-like area extending around a longitudinal axis of the drain column.
[0022] The wording that the housing has a first housing part and a second housing part is not to be understood as meaning that the housing has only two housing parts. Rather, the housing can also have more than two housing parts. The wording should therefore be understood as meaning that the housing has at least two housing parts.
[0023] As explained above, the invention relates to a surge arrester assembly that can have a relatively long arrester column and therefore a correspondingly large housing. The housing can, for example, be several meters high. During installation, the housing is typically hoisted over the arrester column. This usually requires a crane and, if the surge arrester assembly is being installed inside a building, sufficient headroom. The aforementioned embodiment of the invention significantly simplifies both the transport and installation of the housing by dividing it into two housing parts.A connection of the housing parts in a ring-like area extending around a longitudinal axis of the drain column particularly simplifies a fluid-tight connection of the housing parts and the connection of a support device according to the invention with the housing wall, compared, for example, with a connection of the housing parts in a plane in which the longitudinal axis of the drain column runs.
[0024] In a further embodiment of the invention, the first housing part and the second housing part are fluid-tightly connected to each other. A fluid-tight connection of the housing parts particularly enables a gas-insulated design of the surge arrester assembly.
[0025] In a further embodiment of the invention, the first housing part and the second housing part are detachably connected to each other. A detachable connection of the housing parts allows for simplified assembly and disassembly of the surge arrester assembly, for example, compared to a welded connection.
[0026] In a further embodiment of the invention, the first housing part and the second housing part are connected to each other by a housing flange connection. Preferably, the housing flange connection is arranged on an outer surface of the housing.
[0027] A housing flange connection of the housing components allows, in particular, for the simple implementation of a fluid-tight and detachable connection between the housing components. Positioning the housing flange connection on the outside of the housing simplifies access to the housing flange connection during assembly and disassembly of the surge arrester assembly compared to positioning the housing flange connection on the inside of the housing.
[0028] The above-described properties, features, and advantages of this invention, as well as the manner in which they are achieved, will become clearer and more readily understood in connection with the following description of exemplary embodiments, which are explained in more detail in conjunction with the drawings. [0029] Corresponding parts are provided with the same reference numerals in the figures.
[0030] Fig. 1 ( Fig. Figure 1 shows an external view of an embodiment of a surge arrester arrangement 1. The surge arrester arrangement 1 has a housing 3 comprising a first housing part 5 and a second housing part 7. The first housing part 5 and the second housing part 7 are fluid-tight and detachably connected to each other by a housing flange connection 9.
[0031] Fig. 2 ( Fig. 2) shows a cross-sectional view of the in Fig. The surge arrester arrangement 1 shown in Figure 1 is located in the area of the housing flange connection 9. The housing flange connection 9 has a first connecting flange 11 and a second connecting flange 13. The first connecting flange 11 forms one end of the first housing part 5, which faces the second housing part 7. The second connecting flange 13 forms one end of the second housing part 7, which faces the first housing part 5. A sealing element 15 is arranged between the first connecting flange 11 and the second connecting flange 13, which provides a fluid-tight seal at the connection of the connecting flanges 11 and 13. For example, the sealing element 15 is designed as an O-ring.
[0032] The surge arrester assembly 1 has several (four in the embodiment shown here) arrester columns 17, which are arranged spaced apart from a housing wall 19 of the housing 3. Furthermore, the surge arrester assembly 1 has a support device 21 that supports the arrester columns 17 against the housing wall 19. Each arrester column 17 has a first column section 23 and a second column section 25. The support device 21 comprises a carrier element 27, several (four in the embodiment shown here) support units 29, and, for each arrester column 17, a coupling element 31 and a sliding ring 33.
[0033] Fig. 3 ( Fig. 3) shows the support device 21 in the housing 3 in a top view.
[0034] Fig. 4 ( Fig. Figure 4 shows the support element 27 in a top view.
[0035] Fig. 5 ( Fig. 5) shows a support unit 29.
[0036] Fig. 6 ( Fig. Figure 6) shows a connection between a support unit 29 and the support element 27 in a sectional view.
[0037] The support element 27 is plate-shaped and has a support recess 35 for each coupling element 31, in which the coupling element 31 is arranged. Each coupling element 31 is disk-shaped and arranged between the first column section 23 and the second column section 25 of a discharge column 17. The column sections 23, 25 each have, for example, a stack of varistor elements, which are each made of a metal oxide. Furthermore, each column section 23, 25 has a column flange 26 that abuts a coupling element 31. The column flanges 26 of the two column sections 23, 25 of each discharge column 17 are connected to each other by connecting elements 36, each of which is guided through a coupling element recess 37 in the coupling element 31 that is arranged between these column sections 23, 25.Each coupling element recess 37 has a larger diameter than the connecting element 36 that passes through the coupling element recess 37. This allows a coupling element 31 to be displaced relative to the column 17 when connecting the column sections 23, 25 of a discharge column 17, for example to compensate for radial manufacturing tolerances or an inclination of the discharge column 17. The connecting elements 36 are, for example, screws.
[0038] Each sliding ring 33 secures a coupling element 31 in a support recess 35, bearing against an edge of the support recess 35 and against the coupling element 31, and allowing the coupling element 31 to slide relative to the support element 27 along a longitudinal axis of the drainage column 17 between whose column sections 23, 25 the coupling element 31 is arranged. This allows axial manufacturing tolerances to be compensated for when connecting the column sections 23, 25 of the drainage column 17.
[0039] Each support unit 29 is connected to the housing wall 19 and to the support element 27. The housing wall 19 has a housing wall opening 39 in the second housing part 7 for each support unit 29, through which the support unit 29 is guided and which is surrounded by a wall flange 41 arranged on the outside of the housing wall 19. The support unit 29 has a support flange 43 corresponding to the wall flange 41, which forms a support flange connection 45 with the wall flange 41, via which the support unit 29 is attached to the outside of the housing wall 19. Furthermore, the support unit 29 has an end region 47 that is detachably connected to the support element 27. This detachable connection of the support unit 29 to the support element 27 has play in a direction parallel to a longitudinal axis of the support unit 29. For this purpose, the end area 47 has a recess 49 into which an edge area 51 of the support element 27 is received. This edge region 51 of the support element 27 has two elongated holes 53, through each of which a fastening element 55 is guided. The fastening element 55 is connected to the areas of the end region 47 of the support unit 29 surrounding the edge region 51. The elongated holes 53 allow the support element 27 to be displaced relative to the support unit 29 in a direction parallel to a longitudinal axis of the support unit 29 when connecting the support element 27 to the support unit 29, in order to compensate for radial manufacturing tolerances. The end region 47 of the support unit 29 is connected to the section of the support unit 29 having the support flange 43 by an insulating section 57 of the support unit 29, which is made of an electrically insulating material and electrically isolates the support element 27 from the housing wall 19.
[0040] Although the invention has been further illustrated and described in detail by means of preferred embodiments, the invention is not limited by the disclosed examples and other variations can be derived from them by the person skilled in the art without leaving the scope of protection of the invention.
