Description

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a seat. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to a seat having a cushion body that elastically supports a seated person and a seat frame that supports the cushion body from the back of the seat.

[0002] For example, JP 2020-33005 discloses a seat in which a cushion body includes a seat cushion and a seat cover covering the seat cushion. The cushion body is divided into three sections in the seat width direction. Specifically, the cushion body is divided into a main section, which forms the central section in the seat width direction, and side sections, each forming a side section in the seat width direction. The main section and the side sections are separately attached to the seat frame.

[0003] In the configuration of the above prior art, the main section and the side sections are not connected to each other, so the main section tends to sink. Therefore, swaying of the seated person in a yaw direction cannot be properly prevented. Thus, there is a need for a seat that can adequately reduce swaying of the seated person even when the main section is separated from the side section.

[0004] According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a seat includes a cushion body that elastically supports a seated person, and a seat frame that supports the cushion body from the back of the seat. The cushion body includes a main portion and two side portions. The main portion is a central portion in the seat width direction. The main portion includes a seat cushion and a main substrate attached to the back. The main substrate includes a pair of side bulge portions that penetrate into a pair of recesses in the two side portions on the back of the main cushion.

[0005] Therefore, the pair of side bulge portions of the main substrate can support the two side portions of the main cushion from the rear of the seat more strongly than the center portion. Thus, swaying of the seated person in a yaw direction can be reduced even when the main portion is separated from the two side portions.

[0006] Further objects, features and advantages of embodiments of the present invention will be readily understood after reading the following detailed description together with the claims and the accompanying drawings in which: Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the schematic configuration of a seat. Fig. 2 is a perspective exploded view of a seat back of Fig. 1 is. Fig. 3 is an exploded perspective view of the seat back with a fabric element removed from a backrest frame. Fig. 4 is a perspective view of the seat back with the fabric element mounted to the backrest frame. Fig. 5 is a rear view of the seat back with the fabric element mounted to the back frame. Fig. 6 is a front view of the seat back with the fabric element mounted on the back frame. Fig. 7 is a rear perspective view of a pillow body. Fig. 8 is a rear view of the pillow body. Fig. 9 is a front view of the seat back with each side section mounted to the back frame. Fig. 10 is a front view of the seat back with a main portion mounted on the back frame. Fig. 11 is a perspective view of the seat back, with the main section in Fig. 10 is only a main substrate. Fig. 12 a cross-sectional view along a line XII-XII in Fig. 10 is. Fig. 13 a cross-sectional view along a line XIII-XIII in Fig. 10 is. Fig. 14 a cross-sectional view along a line XIV-XIV in Fig. 10 is. Fig. 15 a cross-sectional view along a line XV-XV in Fig. 10 is.

[0007] According to another aspect of the present disclosure, the pair of side bulge portions are arranged at a position where the pair of side bulge portions overlap the arrangement in the seat height direction with a pelvic support portion of the main portion that supports the pelvis of the seated person in the seat back. Alternatively, the pair of side bulge portions are arranged at the position where the pair of side bulge portions overlap the arrangement in the seat front-rear direction with the ischial support portion of the main portion. The ischial support portion is the part of the seat cushion that supports the right and left ischial bones of the seated person.

[0008] Therefore, the rotation of the pelvis or the right and left ischiums of the seated person in the yaw direction can be prevented by the pair of side bulge portions of the main substrate. As a result, the sway of the seated person in the yaw direction can be more appropriately reduced.

[0009] According to another aspect of the present disclosure, the main substrate is attached to the seat frame.

[0010] Therefore, the sway of the seated person in the yaw direction can be more appropriately reduced by the pair of side bead portions of the main substrate supported by the seat frame.

[0011] According to another aspect of the present disclosure, the pair of side bead portions has an inclined surface inclined to support the main cushion in the corresponding pair of recesses from obliquely behind the seat.

[0012] Therefore, the pair of side bulge portions of the main substrate can properly support the seated person from the lateral direction and from the side, respectively. As a result, the sway of the seated person in the yaw direction can be more appropriately reduced.

[0013] An embodiment of the present disclosure is described below with reference to the figures.

[0014] First, the configuration of a seat S according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is described with reference to FIG. Fig. 1 to 15. When directions such as front / back, top / bottom, and right / left are indicated in the following description, these refer to the directions indicated in the illustrations.

[0015] When “seat” is added to the individual directions, such as in “seat width direction”, this refers to the respective direction with respect to the seat S. If a particular reference figure is not shown in the following explanation or if there is no corresponding sign in the reference figure, reference should be made to one of the Fig. 1 to 15 are referred to.

[0016] As it is in Fig. 1, the seat S is a seat for a person of an automobile. The seat S includes a seatback 1 serving as a backrest for a seated person, a seat cushion (not shown) serving as a seat surface, and a headrest H serving as a headrest.

[0017] The seat back 1 is connected to the right and left rear ends of the seat cushion at the lower ends of the right and left sides of the seat back 1 via a seat back adjuster (not shown). Therefore, the inclination angle of the seat cushion can be adjusted.

[0018] As it is in Fig. As shown in FIG. 2, the seat back 1 includes a cushion body 2 that elastically supports the back of the seated person, and a backrest frame 3 that supports the cushion body 2 from the back (rear side) of the seat. The cushion body 2 is divided into three separate members: a main portion 2A, which is the center portion in the seat width direction, and two side portions 2B in the seat width direction. Here, the backrest frame 3 corresponds to a "seat frame" of the present disclosure.

[0019] The backrest frame 3, seen from the front, is a metal element mounted in the form of a frame. A lumbar support 3D is provided within the backrest frame 3. The lumbar support 3D reinforces the support of the lower back of the seated person. The seat back 1 includes a fabric element 4 consisting of a nonwoven fabric stretched within the backrest frame 3. The fabric element 4 is made, for example, of a needle-punched nonwoven fabric.

[0020] The fabric element 4 supports the main section 2A against the backrest frame 3 from the back of the seat. The fabric element 4 functions like a hammock, stretching within the backrest frame 3 up to the lumbar support 3D.

[0021] The cushion body 2 is divided into the main section 2A and the side sections 2B as described above, so that each subdivision element can be individually replaced. The main section 2A and the side sections 2B can be easily mounted to the backrest frame 3 from the front of the seat.

[0022] The main section 2A is separated from the individual side sections 2B, which allows the main section 2A to sink more easily into the back of the seat against the load from the back of the seated person because the cushions of the main section 2A and each side section 2B are not connected to each other.

[0023] If the main portion 2A tends to sink toward the rear of the seat, the body of the seated person is not sufficiently supported by the main portion 2A during cornering of the vehicle. As a result, the body of the seated person tends to sway in the yaw direction.

[0024] Therefore, the seat S of the embodiment has a structure that can properly support the main portion 2A from the rear of the seat to properly prevent the swaying of the seated person's body in the yaw direction. Such a structure serves to support the main portion 2A from the rear of the seat by means of the fabric member 4 described above.

[0025] The specific configuration of the individual parts of the seat back 1 is described in detail below. First, the configuration of the backrest frame 3 is explained. As shown in Fig. 3, the backrest frame 3 has a pair of side frames 3A extending in the seat height direction along the right and left sides of the seat back 1, respectively.

[0026] The backrest frame 3 has an upper frame 3B extending in the seat width direction along the upper part of the seat back 1. The backrest frame 3 further has a lower frame 3C extending in the seat width direction along the lower part of the seat back 1.

[0027] The backrest frame 3 further includes the lumbar support 3D suspended between the side frames 3A and the upper frame 3B. The lower part of the lumbar support 3D is elastically supported by the lower frame 3C from the rear of the seat via a spring (not shown).

[0028] A bracket 3E is screwed or riveted to an outer part of each side frame 3A. The bracket 3E is provided with a hook E1. The hook E1 can be hooked into upper and lower hook holes 4B formed at the respective ends of the right and left sides of the fabric element 4. Each hook E1 is shaped like a claw and protrudes from the respective bracket 3E toward the rear of the seat.

[0029] The upper frame 3B has welded headrest pins B5 at two locations on the right and left sides of the upper frame 3B, respectively, which extend in the seat height direction. The headrest pins B5 each have a quadrangular, cylindrical shape extending in the seat height direction. These headrest pins B5 are holders for inserting and fixing from above the seat height direction a pair of right and left headrest stays (not shown) which extend from the Fig. 1 described headrest H.

[0030] The fabric element 4 is mounted to the backrest frame 3 as follows. First, as shown in Fig. 4, two upper hook holes 4A formed in the upper end of the fabric member 4 are hooked by passing from above the seat through the upper ends of the respective headrest pins B5 projecting upward from the upper frame 3B.

[0031] Next, the fabric element 4 is hung on the front side of the backrest frame 3, with the hook portion of the fabric element 4 serving as a pivot point. Then, the right and left ends of the fabric element 4 are each drawn in so as to wrap around the side frames 3A from the outside to the back, as shown in Fig. 5 is shown.

[0032] Then, the two side hook holes 4B formed at the right and left ends of the fabric element 4 are hooked by passing them through the corresponding hooks E1 from the back of the seat. As shown in Fig. 6, the fabric member 4 is stretched over the upper frame 3B and each side frame 3A to cover the seat from the front.

[0033] The lower end of the fabric element 4 is hooked to the lower frame 3C of the backrest frame 3. Specifically, the lower end of the fabric element 4 is hooked to the lower frame 3C because the main section 2A is mounted to the backrest frame 3. This mounting of the lower end of the fabric element 4 is described in detail below in connection with the description of the main section 2A.

[0034] As described above, the fabric member 4 covers the front edge A5 of the front side of the seat. The front edge A5 is a portion where the front edge of each side frame 3A is folded inward in the seat width direction. Further, the fabric member 4 extends in the seat width direction across a dividing line L between the main portion 2A and each side portion 2B (see the Fig. 13 to 15). The subdivision line L is described below.

[0035] The configuration of the main section 2A and each side section 2B is described below. As shown in the Fig. 2, Fig. 7 and Fig. 8, the main portion 2A has a main pad A1 made of urethane foam, a main cover A2 made of a fabric covering the main pad A1, and a main substrate A3 made of resin and attached to the main pad A1 from the back of the pad.

[0036] The main cover A2 covers the main cushion A1 from the front of the cushion. As shown in the Fig. 7 and Fig. As shown in Figure 8, the main cover A2 has an upper end, a right end, and a left end that are drawn into the back of the main pad A1. The ends of the main cover A2 are each attached to a respective edge of the main substrate A3, which can be attached to the back of the main pad A1.

[0037] The main pad A1 is wrapped and connected to the main substrate A3 by the main cover A2. Thus, the main substrate A3 is attached to the back of the main pad A1 by the main cover A2.

[0038] As it is in the Fig. 2, Fig. 7 and Fig. 8, each side portion 2B also has a side pad B1 made of urethane foam, a side cover B2 made of cloth covering the side pad B1, and a side substrate B3 made of resin attached to the side pad B1 from the back of the pad.

[0039] Each side cover B2 covers the side cushion B1 from the front of the cushion. As shown in the Fig. 7 and Fig. As shown in Figure 8, each side cover B2 is pulled into the back of the side pad B1 by its upper, lower, right, and left ends. Each end of the side cover B2 is then attached to the respective edge of the side substrate B3, which in turn is attached to the back of the side pad B1.

[0040] The side cushions B1 are wrapped and connected to the side substrate B3 by the side covers B2. Thus, each side substrate B3 is attached to the back of the side cushion B1 by the side cover B2.

[0041] As it is in Fig. 2, the main section 2A and each side section 2B are individually mounted to the backrest frame 3 from the front of the seat. The main section 2A and each side section 2B are mounted to the backrest frame 3 from the front of the seat after the fabric members 4 are mounted to the backrest frame 3.

[0042] In particular, each side section 2B is first mounted to the backrest frame 3. The assembly procedure is as follows. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 7, a fitting protrusion B31 is arranged at the upper edge of the side substrate B3 of each side section 2B. The fitting protrusion B31 hangs from the overhang portion of the back surface of the substrate. Fitting holes B6 are provided at the upper right and left ends of the upper frame 3B, which are open upward. First, the fitting protrusions B31 are hooked by passing them through the fitting holes B6 from above.

[0043] Next, each side section 2B is placed against each side frame 3A from the front, with the hook portion of each side section 2B serving as a pivot point. Then, each side section 2B is pressed against each side frame 3A from the front.

[0044] This inserts the clips (not shown) mounted on each side substrate B3 from the front of the seat into the mounting holes of the corresponding brackets 3E, which are screwed to each side frame 3A for a snap-in connection. As shown in Fig. 9, each side portion 2B is integrally attached to the backrest frame 3.

[0045] After the above assembly, the main section 2A (see Fig. 2) then mounted on the backrest frame 3. The assembly procedure is as follows. As shown in Fig. As shown in Fig. 7, two upper hook holes A4 are formed in the overhang portion of the main portion 2A. The overhang portion is a part projecting rearward from the upper edge of the main portion 2A. Right and left headrest pins B5 are formed projecting upward from the upper frame 3B. First, the right and left upper hook holes A4 are hooked by inserting the right and left upper hook holes A4 into the seat from above through the right and left headrest pins B5, respectively.

[0046] As it is in Fig. As shown in Figure 12, the main section 2A is placed against the lumbar support 3D from the front (specifically, against the fabric member 4 located on the front side of the lumbar support 3D) with the above hook portion serving as a fulcrum. Next, the lower end of the main cover A2 is pulled backward together with the lower part of the main cushion A1 to wrap around the lower frame 3C from below.

[0047] A claw A22, consisting of a plastic J-hook, is sewn to the lower end of the main cover A2. The main cover A2 is attached by hooking the claw A22 to the lower frame 3C from the bottom. As shown in Fig. 10, the main portion 2A is integrally fixed to the backrest frame 3, filling the gap between the main portion 2A and each of the side portions 2B in the seat width direction (the dividing lines L).

[0048] As it is in Fig. 12, a lower hook hole 4C is formed at the lower end of the fabric member 4. The lower end of the above-described main cover A2 is configured such that when the claw A22 is hooked onto the lower frame 3C, the claw A22 is first passed through the lower hook hole 4C. By fixing the lower end of the main cover A2 to the lower frame 3C, the lower end of the fabric member 4 is also fixed to the lower frame 3C via the main cover A2.

[0049] The fabric element 4, together with the main section A2 and the main cushion A1, is also wrapped around the lower frame 3C from the underside. In the above assembly, the upper part of the main section 2A is supported by the upper frame 3B from the back of the seat (see Fig. 7). Furthermore, the middle to lower part of the main section 2A is elastically supported by the lumbar support 3D from the back of the seat.

[0050] Furthermore, the main section 2A is supported flat from the back of the seat by the fabric element 4 stretched on the backrest frame 3 (see the Fig. 12 to 15). Therefore, the main portion 2A can be supported from the back of the seat to the extent that the seated person feels sufficient firmness.

[0051] Even when a load in the yaw direction is applied from the back of the seated person during cornering of the vehicle, both side portions of the main portion 2A are supported from the back of the seat by the fabric member 4. This configuration prevents the main portion 2A from sinking into the back. It also allows the main portion 2A to support the body of the seated person during cornering of the vehicle so that the body of the seated person does not sway in the yaw direction, even though the main portion 2A is separated from each of the side portions 2B.

[0052] As it is in Fig. 13 to 15, the fabric member 4 is provided to extend across the dividing line L between the main portion 2A and each side portion 2B in the seat width direction. Therefore, the fabric member 4 can prevent foreign matter from entering the seat through the gap between the main portion 2A and each side portion 2B.

[0053] Each side section 2B is supported by the respective side frame 3A over substantially the entire area in the seat height direction from the rear of the seat. Each side section 2B is configured so that the side substrate B3 supports the side cushion B1 from obliquely behind the seat. Thus, each side section 2B is capable of properly supporting the back of the seated person from both the right and left sides.

[0054] Specifically, the side substrate B3 of each of the two side sections 2B supports the side cushion B1 from obliquely behind the seat through the surface section. The surface section is an oblique section that covers each side frame 3A from the front and inner sides in the seat width direction. These structures cause each side substrate 2B to sink more heavily into the rear of the seat than the main section 2A.

[0055] As it is in Fig. As shown in FIG. 11, the main substrate A3 of the main section 2A has a frame shape in front view. Specifically, the main substrate A3 has a ladder shape, and the right and left frame side sections A32 of the main substrate A3 are connected at multiple locations in the seat height direction.

[0056] The right and left frame side portions A32 of the main substrate A3 include first side bulge portions A33 that protrude toward the front of the seat in the area near their lower portions. The first side bulge portions A33 are formed at a position where they overlap with the pelvic support portion R of the main portion 2A, that is, the portion that supports the sitter's pelvis, in the seat height direction. Each first side bulge portion A33 corresponds to a "side bulge portion" of the present disclosure.

[0057] As it is in Fig. As shown in Fig. 13, the first side bead portions A33 are extruded from the right and left frame side portions A32 of the main substrate A3, respectively, and form an inclined surface M. The inclined surface M is a portion diagonally inward toward the front of the seat from the left and right frame side portions A32 of the main substrate A3. The main cushion A1 has a recess A11 formed in the right and left side portions of the back surface of the cushion, respectively. The recess A11 is a concave part in accordance with the shape of the first side bead portion A33, which protrudes from the main substrate A3.

[0058] As a result, each first side bulge portion A33 is shaped to curve into the corresponding recess A11 of the main cushion A1. Because the first side bulge portion A33 is curved, the side portions of the main cushion A1 are thinner than the center portion. Furthermore, the back of the seated person is strongly supported by the first side bulge portions A33 from the back of the seat.

[0059] Specifically, the main cushion A1 is supported by the inclined surface M of each first side bulge portion A33 from obliquely behind the seat. Thus, the main portion 2A supports the pelvis of the seated person flatly from both the right and left sides through the inclined surface M of the first side bulge portion A33 of the main substrate A3.

[0060] Therefore, even if the load in the yaw direction is applied from the pelvis of the seated person during a turn of the vehicle, both side portions of the main portion 2A are strongly supported from the rear of the seat by the respective first side bulge portions A33. The main portion 2A is not likely to sink into the rear of the seat. With this configuration, the main portion 2A can support a body of the seated person so that it does not easily sway during a turn of the vehicle in the yaw direction, even though the main portion 2A is separated from each side portion 2B.

[0061] Each first side bulge portion A33 is formed in the main substrate A3 fixed to the backrest frame 3. Therefore, the sway of the seated person in the yaw direction can be more effectively reduced by each first side bulge portion A33 of the main substrate A3 supported by the backrest frame 3.

[0062] As it is in Fig. As shown in Fig. 11, the right and left frame side portions A32 of the main substrate A3 are supported from the rear of the seat by portions B32 each extending inward from the respective side substrate B3 in the seat width direction. These portions B32 are formed at a position above the pelvic support portion R of the main body 2A.

[0063] As it is in Fig. 14, the extension portion B32 extends flatly from the outside to the inside in the seat width direction across the dividing line L between the main portion 2A and the side portions 2B. Specifically, the extension portion B32 extends inward to a position where it overlaps the lumbar support 3D in the seat width direction.

[0064] The extension section B32 is arranged between the main section 2A and the lumbar support 3D. Since the main section 2A is supported by the sections B32 from the back of the seat, the right and left side sections of the main section 2A can strongly support the back of the seated person from the back of the seat.

[0065] The two side portions of the main portion 2A are strongly supported from the rear of the seat by the respective portions B32, and the main portion 2A is less likely to sink into the rear of the seat even when the load in the yaw direction is applied from the pelvis of the seated person during cornering of the vehicle. Therefore, it is possible to support the body of the seated person, so that the body of the seated person is less likely to sway in the yaw direction during cornering of the vehicle, even though the main portion 2A is separated from each side portion 2B.

[0066] The right and left frame side portions A32 of the main substrate A3, which is supported by the portions B32 from the back of the seat, are covered from the back of the seat by a substrate cover portion A21. The substrate cover portion A21 is a portion of the cover end that is recessed into the back of the seat of the main cover A2. By disposing the substrate cover portion A21 in this manner between the main substrate A3 and each extension portion B32, direct contact between the main substrate A3 and the portion B32 can be adequately prevented. This can adequately prevent abnormal noise caused by resin collisions. Fig. 7 and Fig. 8, the substrate covering portion A21 is omitted to clarify the configuration of the main substrate A3.

[0067] The extension portions B32 each extend inward from the respective side substrate B3 in the seat width direction. Therefore, even if the main portion 2A is mounted to the backrest frame 3 after each side substrate 2B is mounted to the backrest frame 3, none of the extension portions B32 interferes with the assembly of the main portion 2A.

[0068] As it is in Fig. As shown in FIG. 11, in the right and left frame side portions A32 of the main substrate A3, a second side bead portion A34 is formed in each of the right and left frame side portions A32 of the main substrate A3, extending forward of the seat, at a center region in the seat height direction between the first side bead portion A33 and the extension portion B32. Here, the second side bead portion A34 corresponds to a "side bead portion portion" of the present disclosure.

[0069] As it is in Fig.As shown in Fig. 15, the second side bead portions A34 are extruded from the right and left frame side portions A32 of the main substrate A3, respectively, to form the inclined surface M that obliquely faces inward toward the front of the seat. The main cushion A1 includes the recess A11 formed in the right and left side portions of the back of the cushion. The recess A11 is a concave portion in accordance with the shape of the second side bead portion A34, which protrudes from the main substrate A3.

[0070] As a result, each second side bulge portion A34 is shaped to bulge into the respective recess A11 of the main cushion A1. Due to the expansion of the second side bulge portion A34, the two side portions of the main cushion A1 of the main section 2A are thinner than the central portion, allowing the seated person's back to be strongly supported from the back of the seat.

[0071] The inclined surface M of each second side bead portion A34 supports the main cushion A1 from obliquely behind the seat. Thereby, the main portion 2A supports the back of the seated person from both the right and left sides through the inclined surface M of the second side bead portions A34 of the main base substrate A3 in a planar manner.

[0072] The main portion 2A is strongly supported by every other side bulge portion A34 from the rear of the seat, even when the yaw load is applied from the back of the occupant during vehicle cornering. Therefore, the likelihood of the main portion 2A sinking into the rear of the seat is reduced. Accordingly, even though the main portion 2A is separated from each side portion 2B, it can support the occupant's body to prevent the body from swaying in the yaw direction during vehicle cornering.

[0073] Each second side bulge portion A34 is formed in the main substrate A3 fixed to the backrest frame 3. Therefore, the sway of the seated person in the yaw direction can be more effectively reduced by the second side bulge portions A34 of the main substrate A3 supported by the backrest frame 3.

[0074] In summary, the seat S of the embodiment has the following configuration. Hereinafter, the numbers in parentheses are the reference numerals corresponding to the respective configurations in the above-mentioned embodiments.

[0075] A seat (S) includes a cushion body (2) that elastically supports a seated person, and a seat frame (3) that supports the cushion body (2) from the back of the seat. The cushion body (2) includes three separate elements: a main portion (2A) that is the center portion in the seat width direction, and two portions (2B) located left and right in the seat width direction. The main portion (2A) includes a main cushion (A1) that is a seat cushion, and a main substrate (A3) attached to the back of the main cushion (A1).

[0076] The main substrate (A3) has a pair of side bulge portions (A33, A34) in the seat width direction. The side bulge portions (A33, A34) bulge into a pair of recesses (A11) in the seat width direction and form recesses in both side portions in the seat width direction on the back of the main cushion (A1). According to the above configuration, the pair of side bulge portions (A33, A34) of the main substrate (A3) can support the two side portions of the main cushion (A1) from the back of the seat more strongly than the center portion. Thus, sway of the seated person in a yaw direction can be reduced even when the main portion (2A) is separated from each side portion (2B).

[0077] The pair of side bulge portions (A33) are arranged at a position where a pelvic support portion (R) of the main body (2A) that supports the pelvis of the seated person in the seat back (1) overlaps the arrangement in the seat height direction. According to the above configuration, the pair of side bulge portions (A33) of the main body (A3) can prevent the pelvis of the seated person from rotating in the yaw direction. As a result, the sway of the seated person in the yaw direction can be more appropriately reduced.

[0078] Furthermore, the main substrate (A3) is fixed to the seat frame (3). According to the above configuration, the pair of side bead portions (A33, A34) of the main portion (A3) supported by the seat frame (3) can further appropriately reduce the sway of the seated person in the yaw direction.

[0079] The two side bulge portions (A33, A34) each have an inclined surface (M) inclined to support the main cushion (A1) in the corresponding pair of recesses (A11) from obliquely behind the seat. According to the above configuration, the pair of side bulge portions (A33, A34) of the main substrate (A3) can properly support the seated person even from the lateral direction. As a result, the sway of the seated person in the yaw direction can be more appropriately reduced.

[0080] Although one embodiment of the present disclosure is described above, the present disclosure may be implemented in various forms in addition to the above embodiment.

[0081] 1. The seat of the present disclosure can also be used in vehicles other than automobiles, such as trains, airplanes, and ships. In addition to vehicles, the seat can also be used in various facilities such as sports facilities, theaters, concert halls, event halls, etc. (for non-vehicle use). The configuration of the present disclosure can be used for both a seat cushion and a seat back.

[0082] 2. The beaded shape of the pair of side bead portions provided on the main substrate may be an extruded shape forming an inclined surface obliquely facing inward toward the front of the seat, or it may be an extruded shape forming a cylindrical shape toward the front of the seat.

[0083] When the configuration of the present disclosure is applied to a seat cushion, it is preferable that the pair of side bulge portions provided in the main substrate be provided at a position where the arrangement in the seat front-rear direction overlaps with the ischial support portions of the main portion that support the right and left ischial bones of the seated person in the seat cushion. This arrangement makes it possible to appropriately prevent the yaw rotation of the right and left ischial bones of a seated person by the pair of side bulge portions.

[0084] 3. The main cover and / or side cover can be made of either leather or fabric.

[0085] The various examples described in detail above with reference to the attached drawings are intended to be representative of the present disclosure and are therefore not limiting embodiments. The detailed description is intended to teach one skilled in the art how to make, use, and / or practice various aspects of the present teachings and thus does not limit the scope of the disclosure in any way. Furthermore, each of the additional features and teachings disclosed above may be applied and / or used separately or with other features and teachings in any combination to provide an improved seat and / or an improved method of making and using the same.
