[0073] Memory 68B is configured to store protocol-related information. This protocol-related information varies, for example, depending on the type of the second component 68. The protocol-related information includes, for example, measurement information that the second component 68 receives from sensor 64. The protocol-related information relates, for example, to at least one of the following: torque based on human propulsion force, power based on human propulsion force, rotational speed of the crank axis 22, travel speed of the human-propelled vehicle 10, acceleration of the human-propelled vehicle 10, tilt angle of the human-propelled vehicle 10, torque based on the assistance force of the auxiliary drive unit 46, power based on the assistance force of the auxiliary drive unit 46, assistance mode, gear ratio of the transmission device 48, and transmission actuation signal.that is sent by the transmission actuation device 60, braking force generated by the brake device 54, actuation quantity of a brake actuation device, height of the seat post 16B, actuation time of the adjustable seat post 50, actuation signal of an actuation device of the adjustable seat post 50, charge level of the battery unit 58, internal temperature of the battery unit 58, electrical current consumption of the battery unit 58, voltage of the battery unit 58, internal temperature of the second component 68, current consumption of an actuator and / or a substrate included in the second component 68, voltage in a circuit of the actuator and / or the substrate included in the second component 68, and time on a clock included in the second component 68. For example, the controller 68A has the memory 68B accumulate the protocol-related information.until a second condition is met. The second condition is met, for example, when the controller 68A receives a delete instruction for the protocol-related information from an external device.
[0074] The second component 68 further includes, for example, a communication unit 68C. The second component 68 is configured to be connectable to the storage device 80 via at least one electrical communication cable and a wireless communication device. The communication unit 68C can be configured to perform communication with the first component 66.
[0075] The storage device 80 differs, for example, from the bicycle computer 44, the auxiliary drive unit 46, the transmission device 48, the adjustable seat post 50, the suspension 52, the brake device 54, the lamp 56, and the battery unit 58. The storage device 80 differs, for example, from each of the bicycle computer 44, the auxiliary drive unit 46, the transmission device 48, the adjustable seat post 50, the suspension 52, the brake device 54, the lamp 56, and the battery unit 58. The storage device 80 differs, for example, from an anti-lock braking system (ABS). The storage device 80 differs, for example, from a sensor that records information about the driving condition and the driving environment of the human-powered vehicle 10. The storage device 80 has, for example, only the functionalities of data storage and communication.
[0076] The storage device 80, for example, does not include an electric actuator or a display. The storage device 80 is, for example, formed from a single component. The electric actuator is, for example, at least one electric motor and a solenoid. The storage device 80 does not, for example, include a device that performs mechanical movements such as rotation, twisting, extension / retraction, bending / expansion, and the like. The display is, for example, at least one display and a loudspeaker. The storage device 80 does not, for example, include a user interface.
[0077] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 3, the storage device 80 comprises a base 82, memory 84, and a controller 86. The base 82 is arranged in a cavity of the frame 16 of the human-powered vehicle 10. The base 82 is designed, for example, to be attachable to the frame 16. Specifically, the base 82 is designed to be inserted into the cavity of the frame 16 from an opening 16P in the frame 16. The base 82 may, for example, include a cover 82A that closes the opening 16P. When the opening 16P is closed by the cover 82A, no foreign objects or similar items can enter the cavity of the frame 16.
[0078] Memory 84 is located on base 82. Controller 86, for example, is also located on base 82. Base 82 includes, for example, a receiving compartment 82S, in which memory 84 and controller 86 are housed. Base 82 can accommodate, for example, the entire memory 84 and the entire controller 86 in receiving compartment 82S. Base 82 can accommodate memory 84 in such a way that memory 84 is partially located outside receiving compartment 82S. Similarly, base 82 can accommodate controller 86 in such a way that controller 86 is partially located outside receiving compartment 82S.
[0079] The storage device 80 further includes, for example, a first communication unit 88 configured to communicate with at least one component 42 via a first communication line L1. In a case where the storage device 80 is configured to be connectable to the component 42 via the first communication line L1, the first communication unit 88 is configured to communicate with the component 42, for example, via at least one of the following technologies: Power Line Communication (PLC), CAN, and the like. In a case where the storage device 80 is configured to be connectable to the component 42 via a wireless communication device, the first communication unit 88 is a wireless communication device configured to perform wireless communication with the component 42.In a case where the storage device 80 is configured to be connectable to the component 42 via a wireless communication device, the first communication unit 88 is a wireless communication unit configured to perform communication with the component 42 by, for example, at least one of Bluetooth®, Wi-Fi®, infrared communication and the like.
[0080] The storage device 80 further includes, for example, a first communication line connection 82C, which is provided at the base 82 and connected to the first communication line L1. The storage device 84 is configured, for example, to be supplied with electrical energy by a battery 40A, which is separate from the storage device 80. The storage device 84 is configured, for example, to be supplied with current from the battery 40A via the first communication line L1. In the present embodiment, the battery 40A is, for example, the battery of the battery unit 58.
[0081] The storage device 80 is, for example, designed to be supplied with electrical current via a power line from the battery 40A, which is separate from the storage device 80.
[0082] The storage device 80 further includes, for example, a power line connection 82D, which is connected to the power line. In the present embodiment, the first communication line L1 is, for example, an electrical line for power line communication (PLC). In the present embodiment, the first communication line connection 82C is integrally formed with the power line connection 82D. The first communication line L1 can, for example, be directly connected to the battery unit 58. Alternatively, the first communication line L1 can be connected to the battery unit 58 via at least one component 42.
[0083] For example, storage device 80 forms a communication network with component 42. Storage device 80 acts, for example, as a slave in the communication network. In the communication network, the first component 66 acts, for example, as the master of storage device 80.
[0084] The controller 86 is configured to control the memory 84 such that the memory 84 stores protocol-related information received from the at least one component 42 provided on the human-powered vehicle 10. The protocol-related information stored in the memory 84 includes, for example, the measurement information received from the sensor 64 by the at least one component 42. The protocol-related information stored in the memory 84 can, for example, be all the protocol-related information stored in the components 42 or a specific part of the protocol-related information stored in the components 42.
[0085] Controller 86 is configured to control memory 84 such that memory 84 stores protocol-related information received from the second component 68. Controller 86 can be configured to control memory 84 such that memory 84 stores protocol-related information received from the first component 66. Controller 86 can be configured to control memory 84 such that memory 84 stores protocol-related information received from both the first component 66 and the second component 68.
[0086] Controller 86 controls memory 84 so that memory 84 stores protocol-related information, for example, upon receiving such information. Controller 86 is configured, for instance, to store protocol-related information received from component 42 in non-volatile memory within memory 84. Each time controller 86 receives protocol-related information from component 42, it can be configured, for instance, to store the protocol-related information in the non-volatile memory of memory 84 as new data without overwriting previously stored protocol-related information. Each time the controller 86 receives protocol-related information from component 42, the controller 86 may, for example, be configured to store some of the protocol-related information as new data that differs from the protocol-related information already stored in the non-volatile memory of memory 84.
[0087] Controller 86 retains the protocol-related information stored in memory 84 until a predetermined condition is met. The predetermined condition is met, for example, when Controller 86 receives a delete instruction for the protocol-related information from an external device. The predetermined condition is also met, for example, when the volume of protocol-related information stored in memory 84 becomes greater than or equal to a predetermined volume. In a case where the volume of protocol-related information stored in memory 84 is greater than or equal to the predetermined volume, Controller 86 can delete at least some of the protocol-related information in memory 84 and then store the received protocol-related information in memory 84.
[0088] The controller 66A of the first component 66 is configured, for example, to control at least one component 42 such that the at least one component 42 transmits protocol-related information to the storage device 80 when a trigger condition is met.
[0089] The controller 86 is configured, for example, to control at least one component 42 such that the at least one component 42 transmits protocol-related information to the storage device 80 when the at least one component 42, which is provided on the human-powered vehicle 10, is actuated. The trigger condition is fulfilled, for example, when an operating section included in the at least one component 42 is actuated. The trigger condition is fulfilled, for example, when the operating section 66D of the first component 66 is actuated. The trigger condition can be fulfilled when an operating section included in the second component 68, or an operating section included in a separate component 70, which is separate from component 42 and connected to the control system 40, is actuated.
[0090] The controller 86 can be configured to control at least one component 42 such that the at least one component 42 transmits protocol-related information to the storage device 80 when it receives a capture instruction for the protocol-related information. The at least one component 42 transmits a capture instruction, for example, when the at least one component 42 is supplied with electrical energy. A case in which the at least one component 42 is supplied with power is, for example, when the at least one component 42 is powered by the battery 40A. The trigger condition is met, for example, when the controller 86 receives a capture instruction for the protocol-related information.
[0091] The trigger condition can be met when the volume of log-related information stored in the at least one component 42 becomes greater than or equal to a trigger volume. The trigger condition can be met each time a preset time interval has elapsed. If the trigger condition is met each time the preset time interval elapses, the storage device 80 collects log-related information during each preset time interval.
[0092] A process performed by the storage device 80 to collect protocol-related information in the control system 40 is now described with reference to Fig. 4 described. The storage device 80 begins collecting protocol-related information, for example, when the trigger condition described above is met. In a case where the trigger condition is met, for example, the controller 66A of the first component 66 submits a transmission request for protocol-related information.
[0093] In step S11, the controller 66A submits a transmission request for protocol-related information to the first component 66 and then proceeds to step S12. In step S12, the controller 66A sends a transmission instruction for the protocol-related information to the first component 66. For example, in step S12, the controller 66A of the first component 66 sends the transmission instruction for the protocol-related information to every second component 68 that is connected to the first component 66 in such a way that communication is enabled. For example, in step S12, the controller 66A of the first component 66 sequentially sends the transmission instruction for protocol-related information to a plurality of second components 68 that are connected to the first component 66 in such a way that communication is enabled. The controller 66A of the first component 66 can send the transmission instruction for protocol-related information in step S12 to some of the second components 68 that are connected to the first component 66 in such a way that communication is enabled.
[0094] In step S13, the controller 68A of the second component 68 receives the transmission instruction for the protocol-related information and then proceeds to step S14. In step S14, the controller 68A of the second component 68 transmits the protocol-related information. In step S14, the controller 68A of the second component 68 transmits the protocol-related information, for example, without specifying a receiver. The receiver is specified, for example, by identification information. In a case where the controller 68A of the second component 68 transmits the protocol-related information without specifying the receiver, the controller 68A of the second component 68 transmits, for example, protocol-related information that does not include any identification information specifying the receiver.
[0095] The protocol-related information, transmitted without specifying the recipient, is sent to each of the first component 66, the other second component 68, and the storage device 80 in the communication network. The storage device 80 is configured to receive the protocol-related information transmitted without specifying the recipient. The first component 66 is configured to receive the information transmitted without specifying the recipient from the second component 68. Alternatively, the first component 66 can be configured to ignore the protocol-related information transmitted without specifying the recipient. The second component 68 is, for example, configured not to receive the information transmitted without specifying the recipient from another second component 68.
[0096] In step S15, the controller 86 of the storage device 80 receives the protocol-related information and then proceeds to step S16. In step S16, the controller 86 of the storage device 80 stores the received protocol-related information in memory 84. For example, in a case where the protocol-related information is transferred by a plurality of second components 68 in step S16, the controller 86 of the storage device 80 stores the protocol-related information for each of the second components 68.
[0097] In a case where the controller 66A of the first component 66 makes a transfer request for protocol-related information, the controller 66A of the first component 66 can be configured to transfer the protocol-related information stored in memory 66B of the first component 66 to the storage device 80. The storage device 80 stores the protocol-related information transferred by the first component 66 in memory 84 after receiving the protocol-related information from the first component 66.
[0098] The storage device 80 further includes, for example, a second communication unit 90 configured to perform at least one type of wired and wireless communication with the component 70, which is separate from the storage device 80. The controller 86 is configured, for example, to control the second communication unit 90 such that the second communication unit 90 transmits the protocol-related information stored in the memory 84 to the component 70, which is separate from the storage device 80. The second communication unit 90 is configured, for example, to perform at least one type of wired and wireless communication with the separate component 70, which is separate from the storage device 80.
[0099] The storage device 80 can be configured to control the second communication unit 90 such that the second communication unit 90 transmits the protocol-related information to the separate component 70, which is separate from the storage device 80, via a component 42 provided on the human-powered vehicle 10. For example, the storage device 80 can transmit the protocol-related information stored in the memory 84 to the first component 66 via power line communication (PLC), and the first component 66 can transmit the protocol-related information received from the storage device 80 to the separate component 70 via wireless communication.
[0100] The separate component 70 is, for example, an external device. The external device is, for example, at least one device belonging to a personal computer (PC), a tablet computer, and a smartphone.
[0101] The separate component 70 includes, for example, a controller 70A. The controller 70A includes, for example, a processor that executes various control programs. The processor includes, for example, a CPU or an MPU. The controller 70A can contain one or more microcomputers. The controller 70A can contain a variety of processors located in different locations.
[0102] The separate component 70 further includes, for example, memory 70B. Memory 70B stores, for example, various control programs and information used for control processes. Memory 70B includes, for example, at least one non-volatile memory and one volatile memory. The non-volatile memory includes, for example, at least one ROM, one EPROM, one EEPROM, and one flash memory. The volatile memory includes, for example, RAM.
[0103] Memory 70B is configured to store identification information. This identification information includes, for example, information that allows storage device 80 to determine the type of separate component 70. The identification information is stored in memory 70B, for example, when separate component 70 leaves the factory. Memory 70B is also configured to store protocol-related information about component 42.
[0104] The separate component 70 further includes, for example, a communication unit 70C. The separate component 70 is configured to be connectable to the storage device 80 via at least one electrical communication cable and a wireless communication device. The communication unit 70C can be configured to communicate with the storage device 80 via the first component 66.
[0105] A process carried out by the controller 86 of the storage device 80 to transmit protocol-related information to the separate component 70 is now described with reference to Fig. 5 described. In a case where, for example, the controller 86 is supplied with power, the controller 86 starts the process of the in Fig. 5 flowchart shown from step S21. In a case where the process of the in Fig. As shown in the flowchart 5, the controller 86 repeats the process from step S21 in predetermined cycles, for example until the supply of electrical energy ends.
[0106] In step S21, controller 86 determines whether there is a request to transfer protocol-related information to the separate component 70. Controller 86 determines that a request to transfer protocol-related information to the separate component 70 exists, for example, if it receives a transfer request for protocol-related information from the separate component 70. If there is no request to transfer protocol-related information to the separate component 70, controller 86 terminates the process. If there is a request to transfer protocol-related information to the separate component 70, controller 86 proceeds to step S22.
[0107] In step S22, controller 86 transfers protocol-related information to separate component 70 and then terminates the process. For example, in step S22, controller 86 transfers all protocol-related information stored in memory 84 to separate component 70. Controller 86 can transfer only a portion of the protocol-related information stored in memory 84 to separate component 70 in step S22. The request to transfer protocol-related information to separate component 70 can specify the type of protocol-related information to be transferred to separate component 70.
[0108] Modified examples are described below.
[0109] The description accompanying the above embodiment illustrates, by way of example and without intending to limit the scope of the invention, an applicable form of an energy storage device for a human-powered vehicle. The energy storage device for a human-powered vehicle according to the present invention is applicable, for example, to the modified embodiments and combinations of at least two of the modified embodiments described below, which do not contradict each other. In the modified embodiments described below, the components that are identical to the corresponding components of the above embodiment are designated with the same reference numerals. Such components are not described in detail.
[0110] As in the Fig. 6 and Fig. As shown in Figure 7, the control system 40 can include a communication device 92. The communication device 92 can be a component 42. The communication device 92 includes, for example, a wireless communication unit. The wireless communication unit of the communication device 92 is configured, for example, to perform wireless communication with the separate component 70. The storage device 80 is provided, for example, in the wiring of the first communication line L1, which connects the communication device 92 and a component 42 that is not the communication device 92. As shown in the Fig. 6 and Fig. As shown in Figure 7, the communication device 92 can be configured to close the opening 16P of the frame 16, and the entire base 82 of the storage device 80 can be arranged in the cavity of the frame 16.
[0111] The base 82 of the storage device 80 can be designed to be attached to the outer surface of the vehicle body 14.
[0112] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 8, the storage device 80 can further include a display 94. The display 94 is provided, for example, on the base 82. The display 94 is, for example, on the Fig. The cover 82A shown in Figure 3 provides for the display 94. For example, the display 94 is positioned on the cover 82A such that it is visible from the frame 16 and can be visually perceived by a user. The display 94 includes, for example, a light-emitting diode (LED). The display 94 is illuminated, for example, when the storage device 80 is powered on. The display 94 can include a display that shows an image or similar content.
[0113] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 8, the storage device 80 can further include a first control section 96. The first control section 96 is provided, for example, at the base 82. The first control section 96 is operable by the user. The first control section 96 includes, for example, at least one keyboard, a mouse, a button, and a touch panel. The first control section 96 is provided, for example, at the base 82. Fig. The first operating section 96 is provided for in the cover 82A shown in Figure 3. For example, the first operating section 96 is attached to the cover 82A such that it is visible from the frame 16 and accessible to the user. In a case where the storage device 80 includes the first operating section 96, the trigger condition for the storage device 80 to initiate the collection of protocol-related information can be met, for example, when the first operating section 96 is operated.
[0114] The controller 66A of the first component 66 can be configured to summarize the protocol-related information received from the second component 68 and to transfer the protocol-related information to the storage device 80.
[0115] The communication network does not necessarily have to have a master and a slave. In the present modified example, for instance, each of the controller 86, the storage device 80, and the at least one component 42 can send a transmission instruction containing the protocol-related information.
[0116] The transmission instruction for the protocol-related information can be found in accordance with the operation of a second operating section 98, which is located in Fig. Figure 9 shows that the data is sent. The storage device 80 also includes, for example, the second operating section 98. In a case where the second operating section 98 is actuated, the controller 86 is configured to control the at least one component 42 such that the at least one component 42 transmits protocol-related information to the storage device 80.
[0117] A process for collecting protocol-related information, performed by the controller 86 of the storage device 80, is now described with reference to Fig. 10 described. For example, when controller 86 is powered on, controller 86 starts the process of the Fig. 10 flowcharts shown from step S31. In a case where the process of the in Fig. At the end of the flowchart shown in step 10, the controller 86 repeats the process from step S31 in predetermined cycles, for example, until the supply of electrical current ends.
[0118] In step S31, the controller 86 determines whether the second operating section 98 is actuated. If the second operating section 98 is not actuated, the controller 86 terminates the process. If the second operating section 98 is actuated, the controller 86 proceeds to step S32. In step S32, the controller 86 sends a transmission instruction for the protocol-related information and then continues with step S33.
[0119] In step S33, controller 86 determines whether it will receive protocol-related information. If it does, it proceeds to step S34. In step S34, controller 86 stores the protocol-related information in memory 84 and then terminates the process.
[0120] If no protocol-related information was received in step S33, the controller 86 proceeds to step S35. In step S35, the controller 86 determines whether a predetermined time has elapsed. The predetermined time is set, for example, to a period sufficient for receiving protocol-related information from the moment a transmission instruction for that information is sent. If the predetermined time has not yet expired, the controller 86 proceeds to step S33. If the predetermined time has expired, the controller 86 terminates the process.
[0121] The storage device 80 can be configured to store in memory 84 the protocol-related information stored in the memory of another component that is not integrated into the communication network. For example, at least one component 42 is connected to the other component in such a way that communication is enabled. The protocol-related information stored in the memory of the other component is, for example, transmitted to the storage device 80 via the at least one component 42. The other component is, for example, a GPS receiver (Global Positioning System). The protocol-related information of the GPS receiver includes, for example, the time.
[0122] In a case where the protocol-related information includes time, at least one of the controller 86 and the controller 70A of the separate component 70 can be configured to generate combined information that combines the protocol-related information received from each component 42 on the basis of time.
[0123] As long as the storage device 80 is configured as described below, other configurations may be changed. The storage device 80 includes the memory 84 and the controller 86, which is configured to control the memory 84. The controller 86 is configured to control the memory 84 such that the memory 84 stores the protocol-related information received from the at least one component 42 provided on the human-powered vehicle 10. The storage device 80 is distinct from the bicycle computer 44, the auxiliary drive unit 46, the transmission device 48, the adjustable seat post 50, the suspension 52, the brake device 54, the lamp 56, and the battery unit 58.
[0124] As long as the storage device 80 is configured as described below, other configurations may be changed. The storage device 80 includes the memory 84 and the controller 86, which is configured to control the memory 84 such that the memory 84 stores the protocol-related information received from the at least one component 42 provided on the human-powered vehicle 10. The storage device 80 does not include an electrical actuator or a display.
[0125] As long as the storage device 80 is configured as described below, other configurations may be changed. The storage device 80 comprises the memory 84, the first communication unit 88, and the controller 86. The first communication unit 88 is configured to communicate via the first communication line L1 with the at least one component 42 provided on the human-powered vehicle 10. The controller 86 is configured to control the memory 84 such that the memory 84 stores the protocol-related information received from the at least one component 42. The controller 86 is configured to control the second communication unit 90 such that the second communication unit 90 transmits the protocol-related information stored in the memory 84 to the component 70, which is separate from the storage device 80.In the present modified example, the second communication unit 90 can be arranged on a predetermined component that is distinct from the storage device 80. The predetermined component is, for example, separate from the storage device 80. The predetermined component is, for example, a component provided on the human-powered vehicle 10. The predetermined component can be the one described in the... Fig. 6 and Fig. The communication device 92 shown in Figure 7 may be the communication device 92. The predetermined component can be component 42. The present modified example is designed, for instance, such that the protocol-related information is transmitted to the separate component 70 via the second communication unit 90, which is arranged on the component that differs from the storage device 80.
[0126] The phrase “at least one of,” as used in this disclosure, means “one or more” of a desired selection. For example, the phrase “at least one of,” as used in this disclosure, means “only a single selection” or “both of two options” when the number of options is two.
