Abstract

The invention relates to a device (1) for supplying an electrolyzer (E) with electrical energy and measuring at least one impedance value of the electrolyzer (E), comprising: • An input (I) for receiving electrical energy, • An output (O) for supplying electrical energy to the electrolyzer (E), • At least one controllable switch (Q) configured to control the energy flow from the input (I) to the output (O), • A control device (CON) configured to control the at least one controllable switch on or off.to switch off, • At least one measuring device (MI) for measuring a current corresponding to the current to the electrolyzer, • At least one measuring device (MU) for measuring a voltage corresponding to the voltage across the electrolyzer (E), • The device (1) is configured such that, under control by the control device (CON), a measurement signal of a defined frequency is added to an electrical energy signal, the frequency being different from the frequency of the energy signal, and the device (1) determines an impedance of the electrolyzer (E) using the measuring device for measuring the current (MI) and / or the measuring device for measuring the voltage (MU). The invention further relates to a corresponding method.
