Abstract

The invention relates to a handy, transparent device for the safe removal, observation, and mechanical destruction of ticks. The device comprises a spiral gripper for removing the tick from the skin, a transparent observation chamber with optical magnification, and a crushing mechanism with opposing plates for the complete destruction of the parasite. A cleaning opening also allows for the insertion of free-moving ticks. The device reduces the risk of pathogen transmission through safe handling and disposal. Figure 1 shows an embodiment of the tick removal and destruction device illustrating the individual functional steps.

Technical field The invention relates to a manual hand device for removing ticks, in particular for the safe, hygienic and complete removal, visual inspection and subsequent destruction of ticks. 3. State of the art The prior art documents DE 10 2009 021 980 B3 and DE 198 38 961 B4 must be taken into account. These describe or demonstrate prior art designs. Previously known tick removal devices are mostly limited to simple mechanical graspers, tweezers, or plastic hooks. While these allow for removal, they do not permit subsequent visual inspection or reliable destruction of the tick. Furthermore, improper handling increases the risk of infection transmission through squeezing or incomplete removal of the tick. 4. Object of the invention The aim of the invention is to provide a multifunctional device that enables the removal, visual inspection and mechanical destruction of ticks in a compact and safe system. 5. Description of the invention The tick crusher consists of two stacked, sturdy plates arranged within a vertical housing. The upper plate can be moved downwards by pressing or turning a mechanical head to crush the tick. Return to the starting position is achieved either via a built-in return spring or – in simpler designs – manually without a spring mechanism. The lower plate remains fixed in position while the upper plate is moved by the pressure applied. The entire mechanism is robustly designed to ensure complete destruction of the parasite. 6. Claims
