Description

The invention relates, in particular with several aspects of the invention, to a chainsaw, especially a motor chainsaw. It is an object of the present invention to create a chainsaw that has special, in particular improved, properties. In particular, it is intended to enable improved shielding of an area of ​​the chainsaw housing against mechanical environmental influences. This problem is solved by the subject matter of the independent patent claim. Preferred embodiments are the subject matter of the dependent patent claims. The wording of all patent claims is incorporated by express reference into the present description. The invention aspects mentioned above and / or below can be implemented individually or jointly. A chainsaw according to one of the invention aspects can, if necessary, also be further developed according to another invention aspect. The housing has a lower longitudinal edge region that connects a bottom surface of the housing with a side flank surface of the housing. The chainsaw also has a side plate section, which is designed to partially shield the housing, particularly mechanically. The side plate section can partially cover the housing in order to shield a covered area of ​​the housing.
