Description

[0001] The invention relates to a conductor terminal with an insulating housing, a spring-loaded clamping connection and a manual actuating element, wherein the spring-loaded clamping connection has a busbar and a clamping spring with a clamping leg which is designed in a clamping position for clamping an electrical conductor to the busbar, and wherein the actuating element is movably mounted in and / or on the insulating housing and is designed to move the clamping leg from the clamping position to an open position when manually actuated.

[0002] Conductor terminals with spring-loaded clamping connections are used to clamp an electrical conductor to a clamping point formed between the clamping leg of a clamping spring and a busbar.

[0003] DE 10 2021 129 652 A1 discloses a connection device for connecting an electrical conductor, comprising a housing with a plug-in opening for inserting the conductor, an electrical contact element for contacting the conductor, and a clamping spring with a clamping section for acting on the conductor and a release section. An actuating device is provided for holding the clamping section in a release position. When the release section is actuated by the conductor, the actuating device clamps the conductor against the electrical contact element. The actuating device includes an actuating element with toothed teeth, which is rotatably mounted about a pivot axis in the housing between the release position and the clamping position and is in mechanical interaction with the clamping spring. The actuating device has a pressure element with a rack section which has corresponding tooth elements to be connected with the tooth elements of the actuating element in order to hold the clamping section in the release position by actuating the pressure element.

[0004] DE 10 2019 135 203 A1 describes a connection arrangement for connecting an electrical conductor, comprising a conductor connection compartment, a current bar which has a current bar section against which the conductor to be connected, inserted into the conductor connection compartment, can be clamped, a clamping spring which has a clamping leg which can be moved into a clamping position and into an open position, an actuating element by means of which the clamping leg of the clamping spring can be moved from the clamping position to the open position, and a retaining element which has a fastening section which, in the open position, engages with the clamping leg of the clamping spring in order to hold the clamping leg in position. To move the clamping leg of the clamping spring from the open position to the clamped position, the retaining element has a pressure surface. When the conductor is inserted into the conductor connection chamber, this pressure surface can be actuated by the conductor being connected. Actuating the pressure surface disengages the mounting section of the retaining element from the clamping leg. An indicator element is provided to show the connection status of the electrical conductor. This indicator element is an integral part of the actuating element and moves together with the actuating element, which is coupled to the clamping leg for actuation.

[0005] Based on this, the object of the present invention is to create an improved conductor terminal.

[0006] The problem is solved by the conductor terminal with the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments are described in the dependent claims.

[0007] It is proposed that the conductor terminal have an indicator element that is slidably mounted in the actuating element and can be coupled to the clamping arm. This allows for a compact actuation kinematic design that, due to the (potentially direct) coupling of the indicator element to the clamping arm, has its own independent kinematics. The actuating element can thus actuate the clamping spring at a point independent of the coupling point between the indicator element and the clamping arm, even if the movement of the actuating element causes a displacement of the clamping arm and consequently a shift of the indicator element.

[0008] In this way, the indicator element can provide a visual display showing the operating position of the clamping arm (clamping position or open position). The user can thus easily see from the outside, based on the position of the indicator element, whether the clamping arm is in the open or clamping position. In particular, the indicator element provides a visual display of the clamping arm's operating position, independent of the operating position of the actuator itself.

[0009] The clamping arm, together with a contact section of the busbar, can form a clamping point for connecting an electrical conductor between the clamping arm and the contact section. In the open position, at least the clamping edge of the clamping arm is pivoted away from the contact section of the busbar. The clamping arm can be pivoted, for example, between an open position in which the electrical conductor is freely movable between the clamping arm and the contact section, and a clamped position in which the clamping arm clamps the electrical conductor to the contact section.

[0010] The indicator element can thus be configured to visually display the actuation state of the clamping arm, i.e., to show whether the clamping arm is in the clamping position or in the open position. Depending on the design of the indicator element, it can also be configured to display one or more intermediate states in addition to the clamping and open positions. The indicator element thus signals to the user the actual actuation state of the clamping arm, which, particularly in the case of conductor connection terminals with automatic conductor connection, does not necessarily correspond to the actuation position of the manual actuator.

[0011] Depending on the design, the display element can be permanently coupled to the clamping arm or only in one or more different actuation states or displacement positions of the clamping arm.

[0012] The actuating element can be designed in any way you like, e.g. as a pivotable actuating lever or as a sliding push button.

[0013] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the actuating element is slidably mounted in and / or on the insulating housing in an actuation direction, and the indicator element is slidable within the actuating element in a direction different from the actuation direction of the actuating element. This allows the actuation kinematics of the actuating element, particularly with regard to its actuation direction, to be independent of the displacement direction of the indicator element. This permits greater design freedom and can be used to achieve very compact designs for conductor connection terminals.

[0014] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the display element is displaceable within the actuating element transversely to the actuating direction of the actuating element. For example, the displacement direction of the display element can be aligned at a right angle to the actuating direction of the actuating element. In this case, the actuating element can, for example, be displaceably mounted on an outer wall of the insulating housing, and the display element can be displaceably mounted within the actuating element transversely to this, into the interior of the insulating housing and in a direction leading out of the insulating housing.

[0015] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the actuating element is designed as an actuating slide, which is configured to move the clamping arm into the open position by means of a sliding movement running essentially parallel to an outer surface of the insulating housing. This enables advantageous sliding actuation of the clamping arm. As a result, the actuating element can be integrated into the conductor terminal in a very space-saving manner. Furthermore, existing and proven conductor terminal designs that were previously designed without an actuating element can be easily modified into a conductor terminal with an actuating element for the clamping arm, without requiring a complete redesign. The actuating element may have a handle section on the outside of the insulating housing that is manually accessible, through which the actuating element can be moved when manually actuated, thus moving the clamping leg into the open position.

[0016] As mentioned, the invention enables the clamping arm to be actuated by means of the actuating slide. Unlike a push-button actuation, with an actuating slide the handle section, which is manually accessible on the first outer surface of the housing, can be manually actuated by the user at any time, in particular without additional tools. The handle section can, in particular, be permanently manually accessible and / or visible on the first outer surface of the housing, i.e., in every actuation position of the actuating slide.

[0017] The actuating slider can, for example, be slidably mounted within the insulating housing. The manually accessible handle section can, for example, be slidably mounted on the outside of the housing, such that the manual handle section slides along the outside of the housing when actuated.

[0018] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the display element comprises a coupling element, in particular a platform, wherein the display element is supported on the clamping arm via the coupling element. This allows for a defined coupling of the display element with the clamping arm. The display element can be positively coupled to the clamping arm in both its forward / backward displacement directions, for example, or only in one displacement direction, via the coupling element. To indicate the clamping state of the clamping arm, the display element can have a display section arranged in an area spaced apart from the coupling element, in particular at a free end of the display element facing away from the coupling element. The coupling element can, for example, be arranged at a free end of the display element that is spaced apart from the display section, i.e., the opposite free end.

[0019] Depending on the display state, the display section can assume different positions relative to the outer surface of the actuator. To indicate the clamped position, the display section can be shifted from the outside of the actuator to the inside. To indicate the open position, the distal free end of the display element can protrude outwards from the actuator or at least be visibly positioned adjacent to the outer surface of the actuator.

[0020] In an advantageous embodiment, the coupling element can have a length in the actuation direction of the actuating element that is at least as large as the maximum actuation travel of the actuating element in the actuation direction. This ensures a secure connection of the indicator element with the clamping leg in all actuation positions of the actuating element.

[0021] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the actuating element has a receiving opening and the display element has at least one rod-shaped section, wherein the rod-shaped section is slidably mounted in the receiving opening of the actuating element. This allows for reliable sliding mounting of the display element within the actuating element, preventing tilting or jamming. The display element is thus at least partially rod-shaped. The receiving opening can have an elongated shape, such as a bore. In an advantageous embodiment, the receiving opening is adapted to the outer contours of the rod-shaped section, while being slightly oversized to ensure smooth sliding of the display element within the receiving opening.A rod shape with a circular cross-section is advantageous in order to achieve simple production of the receiving opening and to reduce friction and the risk of jamming.

[0022] The actuating element may have a spring actuating section which, at least when the actuating element is manually actuated, engages directly with the clamping spring or with the clamping leg and leads directly to the displacement of the clamping leg.

[0023] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the actuating element is slidably mounted in and / or on the insulating housing, and a deflecting element is movably mounted in the insulating housing and coupled to the actuating element on one side and to the clamping arm on the other. The clamping arm can be indirectly actuated via the deflecting element when the actuating element is moved. The deflecting element can, for example, act like a transmission between the actuating element and the clamping arm. For instance, the deflecting element can have a spring-loaded actuating section that acts directly on the clamping arm.

[0024] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the deflecting element is rotatably or pivotably mounted in the insulating housing. Accordingly, the deflecting element can convert the sliding movement of the actuating element into a rotary movement. This rotary movement can then be used to deflect the clamping arm.

[0025] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the actuating element is coupled to the deflecting element via a toothed profile with interlocking teeth of the actuating element and the deflecting element. This provides a reliable positive-locking connection between the actuating element and the deflecting element. Undesired slippage during the transmission of the sliding movement of the actuating element to the deflecting element is thus avoided.

[0026] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the actuating element comprises a linear rack with a toothed contour. The deflecting element can have a toothed contour on its outer circumference, designed as a counterpart to the rack, which is shaped like the external teeth of a gear.

[0027] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the conductor terminal has a retaining element designed to hold the clamping arm in the open position. This allows the conductor terminal to be factory-set to the open position and delivered without prior actuation of the clamping spring before connecting an electrical conductor.

[0028] Such a design allows for the easy integration of automatic release technology into spring-clamp terminals and conductor connection terminals of various designs. In particular, proven conductor connection terminals of known design can be easily upgraded to an automatic release functionality, i.e., with automatic connection of the electrical conductor to be clamped.

[0029] The retaining element can be designed as a separate component from the clamping spring or as a component integrally formed with the clamping spring or the busbar. This further simplifies the integration of automatic release technology into conductor connection terminals of known design.

[0030] The retaining element allows the clamping arm to be held in the open position even when the clamping arm is not manually operated using the actuating element. This retaining element enables the electrical conductor to be inserted into the clamping point without requiring any force. Furthermore, the user does not need to manually open the clamping point beforehand if the clamping arm is already in the open position and held by the retaining element. For example, the conductor connection terminal can be offered for sale with the clamping arm in the open position.

[0031] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the retaining element has at least one detent element against which the clamping leg can be locked in the open position and thereby secured to the retaining element. This allows for a defined locking of the clamping leg in the open position. The clamping leg is thus securely held in the open position.

[0032] The retaining element can, for example, act directly on the clamping leg to hold it in the open position. Thus, for instance, a first locking element can be arranged on the clamping leg and a second locking element on the retaining element, with the first and second locking elements being able to interlock in the open position. The first locking element can be designed as a locking projection or locking hook. The second locking element can be designed as a locking edge or locking opening.

[0033] The retaining element can be movably arranged, e.g., sliding, pivoting, or otherwise deflectable, so that it can be easily deflected by the inserted conductor to achieve the desired release of the clamping arm from the retaining element. The retaining element can be slidably mounted, e.g., in a linear or arc-shaped direction. The retaining element can be pivotally mounted. In this case, the retaining element can pivot about a fixed or variable pivot axis. In the case of a variable pivot axis, the retaining element can, for example, be floatingly pivotable. The retaining element can also perform a combined sliding and pivoting movement. The retaining element can also be movably mounted in another way so that it can be deflected sufficiently to release the locking of the clamping arm from the retaining element.

[0034] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the spring-loaded clamping connection has a release element, the actuation of which deflects the retaining element sufficiently to release the clamping leg held on the retaining element. The release element may have a release section. The clamping leg, held on the retaining element in the open position, can be released from the retaining element by the release element when an electrical conductor to be connected exerts an actuating force on the release section. This allows the clamping leg to be automatically released from the retaining element by inserting the electrical conductor. The release section can be actuated by a separate tool, a component of the conductor connection terminal (such as an actuating element), or directly by the inserted electrical conductor itself, thereby causing the clamping leg to be released from the retaining element. The release element allows the clamping leg, which is held in the open position on the retaining element, to be released from the retaining element by applying pressure to the release section in the direction of conductor entry of the electrical conductor to be connected. Depending on the design of the spring-clamp connection, the release element can be formed as part of the clamping spring, e.g., as a release element integrally formed with the clamping spring, or as a separate component.

[0035] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the release element is integrated into the component or assembly of the spring-clamp connection that includes the retaining element. This minimizes the design and assembly effort for the spring-clamp connection. In particular, only one component or assembly is required for mounting the release element and the retaining element, rather than two separate components or assemblies. For example, the release element can be integrally formed with the retaining element. The component or assembly can be made of, for example, plastic or metal, or a combination of such materials.

[0036] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, a conductor guidance channel for guiding the electrical conductor to be clamped to the contact section can be formed in the insulating material housing, wherein the release section of the release element is arranged in the conductor guidance channel or at least projects into the conductor guidance channel or its extension.

[0037] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the release section of the release element can be arranged behind the contact section or at least behind the clamping point in the conductor insertion direction.

[0038] For example, the spring-loaded clamping connection can have a retaining element which has a detent contour designed to lock the clamping leg in the open position and a release section designed to unlock the clamping leg by a release force exerted by an inserted electrical device.

[0039] The clamping spring can have a clamping leg, a contact leg, and a spring arc connecting the clamping leg to the contact leg. For example, the retaining element can project from the contact leg and be formed integrally with the clamping spring.

[0040] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, a return spring projects from the clamping leg, which is integrally formed with the clamping spring and coupled to the actuating element for returning it to a rest position. Additionally or alternatively, the conductor terminal can have a return spring that is formed separately from the clamping spring and is designed to return the actuating element to its rest position. Such a return has the advantage that the actuating element can be automatically returned to its rest position, i.e., the unactuated initial position, by spring force without the need for the user to initiate this return. Thus, the actuating element can also be automatically returned to its rest position even if the clamping leg is in the latched open position and cannot itself initiate the return to the rest position.

[0041] The conductor terminal block can have multiple spring-clamp terminals for clamping individual electrical conductors within the insulating housing. The spring-clamp terminals can be arranged side by side. Each can have its own busbar, separate from other spring-clamp terminals. Alternatively, all spring-clamp terminals or groups of spring-clamp terminals can share a common busbar to connect the electrical conductors connected to the corresponding spring-clamp terminals. A feed-through terminal can also be formed, in which two spring-clamp terminals are arranged one behind the other in the conductor insertion direction and connected via a common busbar. Such a feed-through terminal can have a common actuating element with two indicator elements.

[0042] Each spring-loaded clamp connection can have one actuating element with a sliding indicator element. In the case of a feed-through terminal, the pairs of actuating elements can be arranged one behind the other and slid in the conductor insertion direction.

[0043] In general, in connection with this application, the words "ein / eine" are not to be understood as numerals, unless expressly defined otherwise, but as indefinite articles with the meaning of "at least one".

[0044] The invention is described in more detail below by way of example with reference to an embodiment and the accompanying drawings. These show: Fig. 1 a conductor terminal in side view in the unactuated state, Fig. 2 the conductor connection terminal according to Fig. 1 in the open position, Fig. 3 the conductor connection terminal according to Fig. 2 when inserting the electrical conductor, Fig. 4 the conductor connection terminal according to Fig. 3 with attached electrical conductor, Fig. 5 Another embodiment of a conductor terminal block in side view in two different actuation states.

[0045] The in Fig. 1. A identifiable conductor connection terminal 1 has an insulating housing 2. On one conductor entry side, the insulating housing 2 has a conductor entry opening 20 through which an electrical conductor to be connected can be inserted into the insulating housing 2. Inside the insulating housing 2, a spring-loaded terminal 3, 4 is arranged, comprising a busbar 3 and a clamping spring 4.

[0046] The clamping spring 4 has a contact leg 41, a spring arc 42 adjoining the contact leg 41, and a clamping leg 43 adjoining the spring arc 42, which has a clamping edge 46 at its free end. The busbar 3 has a contact section 30 to which an electrical conductor can be clamped by the spring force of the clamping spring 4 by means of the clamping leg 43 or the clamping edge 46. The clamping spring 4 is supported against the clamping force applied by the clamping leg 43 via the mounting leg 41, e.g. on a U-shaped bent part of the busbar 3 and / or on the inside of the insulating housing 2. An electrical conductor is inserted through the conductor entry opening 20 in a conductor entry direction L and guided through a conductor guide channel 21 adjoining the conductor entry opening 20 to the clamping point between the clamping leg 43 and the contact section 30, in order to be clamped there.

[0047] The conductor connection terminal 1 has a mechanical actuation mechanism for the clamping leg 43, in order to move it from the Fig. To move the clamping position shown in Figure 1 to an open position, a manual actuating element 5 in the form of an actuating slide is used. The manual actuating element 5 has a manually operated handle section 50, which is accessible on the outside of the insulating housing 2 and can be actuated by the user, e.g., with a finger. The actuating element 5 extends through a longitudinal slot 24 in a housing wall 22 of the insulating housing 2 into the interior of the insulating housing 2. Inside the insulating housing 2, a guide chamber 23 is formed in which a bearing section 51 of the actuating element 5 is longitudinally displaceable, i.e., longitudinally displaceable in an actuating direction B in which the manual actuating element 5 is to be actuated. The actuating direction B can be aligned parallel to the conductor insertion direction L.

[0048] The actuating element 5 is supported and guided in the insulating housing 2 by the bearing section 51 and is additionally slidably mounted on the outside of the housing wall 22 by the support of the handle section 50. The actuating element 5 extends into the interior of the insulating housing 2 to a position on the underside of the clamping leg 43 facing away from the housing wall 22, where the actuating element 5 has a spring-actuated section 52. When the actuating element 5 is moved in the actuating direction B, the spring-actuated section 52 deflects the clamping leg 43 and thereby moves the clamping edge 46 away from the contact section 30.

[0049] As can be seen, the conductor terminal 1 also has an indicator element 6. The indicator element 6 serves to indicate the actuation state or deflection state of the clamping arm 43. The indicator element 6 is slidably mounted in the actuating element 5 and mechanically coupled to the clamping arm 43. For this purpose, the actuating element 5 has a receiving opening 53 extending, for example, perpendicular or diagonally to the actuation direction B through the actuating element 5, which may be channel-shaped. The indicator element 6 has a rod-shaped section 60 by which the indicator element 6 is arranged to be longitudinally displaceable in the receiving opening 53. At the end of the rod-shaped section 60 facing the outside of the conductor terminal 1, the indicator element 6 has an indicator section 61, which serves to optically indicate the actuation state of the clamping arm 43.At the end furthest from the display section 61, the display element 6 has a coupling element 62, for example a plate-shaped coupling element, which rests on the clamping leg 43 with its side facing the clamping leg 43. In an advantageous embodiment, the coupling element 62 has a relatively long extension in the actuation direction B, which is at least as large as the mechanically possible displacement of the actuating element 5 in the actuation direction B. When the actuating element 5 is displaced in the actuation direction B, the display element 6 with its coupling element 62 can slide along an arc segment 44 of the clamping leg that is convex towards the coupling section 62.

[0050] The conductor terminal 1 also has a retaining element 9 for holding the clamping leg 43 in the open position. The retaining element 9 has a locking element 90 against which the clamping leg 43 can lock with a locking element molded onto it, wherein in the illustrated embodiment the locking element on the clamping leg side is formed by the clamping edge 46. However, it is also conceivable to mold a locking element on the clamping leg 43 that differs from the clamping edge 46.

[0051] The conductor terminal 1 also has a release element 8, which has a release section 80. The release element 8 allows the locking of the clamping leg 43 on the retaining element 9 to be released, i.e., the clamping leg 43 is unlatched and can then spring back out.

[0052] The Fig. Figure 1 shows the conductor terminal initially in the unactuated position of the actuating element 5. If the actuating element 5 is now moved in the actuation direction B, the clamping leg 43 is moved away from the contact section 30 until the clamping leg 43 engages with the locking element 90, as shown in the Fig. Figure 2 shows. In this latched state, i.e., in the open position of the clamping arm 43 held against the retaining element 9, the actuating element 5 can be returned to its position. Fig. 1. The starting position shown can be moved back without the clamping arm 43 changing its latched open position.

[0053] As the Fig. 1 and Fig. 2. Furthermore, the indicator element 6, and in particular the changed position of the display section 61, visually signals to the user that the clamping leg 43 is in different positions. Fig. 1. The display section 61 is immersed relatively far into the receiving opening 53, so that it is not or hardly visible to the user. When the clamping arm 43 is in the latched open position, as in Fig. 2. With the actuating element 5 in the same position, the indicator section 61 signals this open state by being more easily visible, for example, because it protrudes slightly from the receiving opening 53 or is at least located at the upper end of the receiving opening 53. The indicator section 61 can be marked with a color different from the other components, e.g., a warning color, for clearer signaling.

[0054] The retaining element 9 and the release element 8 serve to equip the conductor connection terminal 1 with an automatic conductor connection technology. If an electrical conductor 10, such as the Fig. Figure 3 shows that when the conductor 10 is inserted into the conductor terminal 1 in the conductor insertion direction L, a free end of the conductor 10 eventually abuts the release section 80 and deflects it slightly backwards in the conductor insertion direction L. This also mechanically displaces the retaining element 9 slightly backwards in the conductor insertion direction L, causing the locking element 90 to release from the clamping leg 43, thus freeing the clamping leg 43. This is shown in the Fig. Figure 4 shows the clamping leg 43 clamping the electrical conductor 10 against the contact section 30 of the busbar 3 with its clamping edge 46.

[0055] It is evident that with electrical conductor 10 connected, as in Fig. As shown in Figure 4, the actuating element 5 can be arranged in any position. The indicator element 6 reliably shows in every position that the clamping arm 43 is deflected, with the deflection in the state shown in Figure 4. Fig. 4 is caused by the connected electrical conductor 10.

[0056] The conductor terminal 1 also has a return spring 45, which automatically returns the actuating element 5 to its rest position (as in the Fig. (shown in Figures 1 to 3). When the actuating element 5 is actuated in the actuating direction B, it must be actuated against the force of the return spring 45. When the actuating force on the actuating element 5 is released, the return spring 45 ensures that the actuating element 5 automatically returns to its initial position. The return spring 45 can be formed integrally with the clamping spring 4, as shown in the figures, e.g., as a spring branch extending from the contact leg 41. The return spring 45 can also be designed as a separate spring.

[0057] The Fig. Figure 5 shows a further embodiment of a conductor connection terminal 1, which, apart from the differences explained below, corresponds to the embodiment described above. It is evident in the Fig. 5 in particular the function of the actuating element 5 and the display element 6, wherein in the Fig. 5 the actuating element 5 and the indicator element 6 are shown once in the unactuated position of the actuating element 5 (with solid lines), i.e. in the rest position, and additionally in the state of the actuating element 5 shifted in the actuating direction B (with dashed lines).

[0058] The conductor connection terminal 1 according to Fig. 5 features a modified actuating mechanism for the clamping arm 43. In this embodiment, the actuating element 5, with its spring-actuated section 52, does not extend as far downwards into the insulating housing 2 as, for example, in Fig. 1 is recognizable. Instead, the actuating element 5 has on the spring actuating section 52, which in the embodiment according to Fig. A toothed section 53, similar to a rack, is arranged on the upper side of the clamping leg 43 facing the mounting leg 41. Additionally, the actuating mechanism of the conductor terminal 1 has a deflecting element 7, which is rotatably or pivotably mounted in the insulating housing 2 and has an external toothed section 71 on its outer surface facing the toothed section 53, similar to a gear. The external toothed section 71 engages with the toothed section 53 of the actuating element 5, so that forces can be transmitted to the deflecting element 7 via the toothed sections 53 and 71 when the actuating element 5 moves.

[0059] By moving the actuating element 5 in the actuation direction B, a rotational movement of the deflecting element 7 is generated by the meshing teeth 53, 71. The deflecting element 7 has a spring actuator 70, e.g., a pin projecting laterally from a main body of the deflecting element 7, which is arranged on the underside of the clamping arm 43 facing away from the contact leg 41. Due to the rotational movement of the deflecting element 7 resulting from a movement of the actuating element 5, the clamping arm 43 can be deflected into the open position by the spring actuator 70 and locked onto the retaining element 5.
