Abstract

A semiconductor device comprises: a switching device; a control semiconductor device controlling the switching device; a capacitance matching unit comprising a capacitor and a conductor; and a molded resin encapsulating the switching device, the control semiconductor device, and the capacitance matching unit, wherein the control semiconductor device includes a protection circuit that outputs a fault signal when an anomaly of the semiconductor device is detected, the protection circuit is connected to the capacitor via the conductor and charges the capacitor while the fault signal is output when a voltage of the charged capacitor exceeds a threshold, the protection circuit stops outputting the fault signal and discharges the capacitor, an opening is formed in the molded resin, and the conductor of the capacitance matching unit is exposed through the opening from the molded resin.
