Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a combined agricultural machine comprising a planting device and a downstream device for constructing the final ridge. The planting device is, in particular, a potato planting device and includes at least one storage container, an associated removal device, and a planting coulter.
[0002] German patent DE 29 00 985 A1 discloses a potato planting machine with an automatic planting device. The machine is solely for planting potatoes. Preparatory and subsequent operations, such as loosening the soil and building the final ridge, must be carried out in separate operations and with separate machines.
[0003] DE 71 48 064 U also shows such a potato planting machine, which can only perform the planting.
[0004] Machines that combine planting and ridge formation in a single operation are also known from the prior art. In particular, potato planters are known that are equipped with various tools for final ridge formation, e.g., with ridging bodies used alone, with ridging bodies with rollers, or in combination with a ridge forming plate. Seedbed preparation must be carried out in a separate operation, for example, using a rotary harrow. However, such machines are only suitable for use on light to medium soils, while on heavier soils, sufficiently small soil fractions for ridge formation cannot be achieved. Therefore, on heavier soils, the final ridge must be formed in a further operation, for example, using a ridging machine.Subsequent milling of the ridges in a further operation can cause lateral displacement, resulting in the position of the planting tubers deviating considerably from the center of the ridge. This can lead to the tuber clusters growing out laterally. This problem occurs particularly acutely when cultivating a side slope.
[0005] To solve this problem, DE 197 10 036 C2 describes a planting machine in which a ridging cutter is arranged on a machine frame directly behind the furrowers. By combining the planting machine and ridging cutter into a single, integrated machine, the problem of lateral offset no longer occurs. Furthermore, this device allows two operations to be combined into one, resulting in fuel savings and increased crop yield by reducing the amount of green material in the harvest caused by sunlight. Such machines can also be used on heavy soils. However, a preliminary seedbed preparation operation is still necessary with this device. Subsequent driving over the prepared soil with a planting machine, a ridging machine, or the described combined machine will compact the already loosened soil.
[0006] From DE 29 00 985 B1 a fault reporting device on potato planting machines is known, in which an agricultural machine with a planting device with a conveying device for transporting the planting material from the storage container to the scooping chamber is also described.
[0007] From NL 1014691 C, an agricultural machine with a storage container for seed potatoes is known, wherein a removal device associated with the storage container is provided, wherein a loosening tool is arranged in the direction of travel in front of the potato planting device, and wherein a support wheel is provided in front of the loosening tool. A device for final ridge formation is provided after the planting device.
[0008] The object of the invention is therefore to propose a machine which enables a further bundling of work steps and, moreover, compacts the already loosened soil to only a small extent.
[0009] The problem is solved with a combined agricultural machine according to claim 1.
[0010] A combined agricultural machine comprises a potato planting unit and a downstream unit for creating the final ridge. The planting unit consists of at least one storage hopper, an associated discharge device, and a planting coulter. A loosening tool for seedbed preparation is positioned in front of the planting unit in the direction of travel. Furthermore, one or more wheels are arranged in front of the loosening tool for breaking up the soil and supporting the machine. The machine has no additional wheels in the direction of travel behind the loosening tool. By positioning a loosening tool in front of the planting unit, a soil preparation step prior to planting can be eliminated.According to the invention, no wheels supporting the machine are arranged downstream of the loosening tool in the direction of travel, thus preventing further compaction of the already loosened soil. One or more wheels are arranged upstream of the loosening tool to support the soil in the direction of travel. This crushes and breaks up any clods present in the soil, significantly facilitating subsequent planting and ridge formation. Lateral displacement, which would lead to off-center placement of the planting material in the ridges, is also prevented by arranging the tools within a single machine. This also improves the soil's crumb structure.
[0011] A preferred embodiment of the machine provides that the dispensing device is a circulating bucket elevator. This allows for a particularly compact machine design.
[0012] If the bucket elevator is driven by a spring-loaded roller that engages with the tire profile, a space-saving and low-center-of-gravity arrangement of the bucket elevator and the seed hopper is possible. Furthermore, the bucket elevator drive can be slip-free. When the machine is raised, the roller is disengaged from the tire profile, so the bucket elevator remains stationary.
[0013] Furthermore, it is advantageous if the loosening tool is designed as a rotary harrow. This allows sufficient soil loosening to be achieved even in heavy soils. However, a version with a tine rotor is also possible.
[0014] Another advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the planting device is equipped with ridging bodies or covering discs, which pre-shape the ridge to be formed. However, since the arrangement of the machine's wheels according to the invention prevents any further compaction of the soil, these are not strictly necessary. A particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that a ridge-forming plate is arranged downstream of the planting device for final ridge construction. This allows for the creation of particularly firm and smooth ridges, thereby providing optimal growing conditions. If the inclination of the ridge-forming plate is adjustable, the ridge height and slope can be set.
[0015] Another embodiment of the invention provides that the planting share is designed as a double-disc share. Plant residues in the soil can be cut up by the disc share and incorporated into the soil. If a ridge breaker is additionally assigned to the double-disc share, particularly precise placement of the planting material can be achieved.
[0016] It is also advantageous if the planting coulter is height-adjustable and connected to the device for final ridge formation, in particular a ridge forming plate. This makes it easy to ensure that the seed is always placed at the same depth relative to the ridge crest.
[0017] Advantageously, the machine is designed as a towed machine and has its own chassis.
[0018] The machine's wheels are preferably fitted with wide tires that largely cover the machine's working width. This ensures optimal soil preparation by crushing and breaking up clods in the soil. Furthermore, the use of wide tires is particularly gentle on the soil and plants due to the lower pressure. Excessive soil compaction by the wheels is prevented. The wider tires prevent the machine from sinking too deeply into the soil, thus achieving a largely constant planting depth. Preferably, four wheels are arranged laterally across the machine, resulting in a four-track design. If the machine's wheels are mounted with a pivoting mechanism laterally, precise depth control and centered seed placement are achieved even on uneven soils or slopes.
[0019] Furthermore, with multi-row versions of the machine, it can be advantageous if the machine can be coupled to a tractor after being rotated 90° for road transport. For this purpose, the machine's wheels are, for example, arranged to swivel 90° on the machine. This also makes it possible to cover a greater working width with the machine while still complying with the maximum permissible width for road transport.
[0020] According to another advantageous embodiment of the invention, it is advantageous if a roller for breaking up the soil is arranged in front of the loosening tool. This also allows for precise depth control across the entire working width and advantageous soil crumbling and clod breaking up.
[0021] A particularly compact machine design can be achieved if the hopper of the planting unit is positioned above the loosening tool and the machine's center of gravity is located near the wheel axle. Support wheels, which are positioned behind the loosening tool in the direction of travel and could re-compact the already loosened soil, are therefore unnecessary. Preferably, the hopper is designed as a hydraulic tipping hopper. This allows for optimal weight distribution while still ensuring a constant supply of planting material.
[0022] Another advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the loosening tool can be removed from the machine for use in other machines. In this case, the loosening tool can be used independently of the combined planting machine for soil preparation and for other cultivation methods. It is also advantageous if the planting unit is detachable from the machine. This makes it possible both to attach various planting or sowing units to the machine and to use the machine's loosening tool on its own.
[0023] For detaching the planting unit from the machine, it is particularly advantageous if the hopper, the extraction device, the planting coulter, and the end-ridge building device form a single unit. This unit can then be removed from the combined agricultural machine and replaced by a different seeding unit.
[0024] In particular, instead of the planting unit, a seed drill for cereals, such as a seed drill, can be mounted on the machine, comprising at least a hopper, a seed extraction device, a seed bar, and a packer roller. With appropriate component design, a conventional seed drill can also be used.
[0025] It is also advantageous if a precision seeder is attached to the machine or can be mounted on it as the planting device. For this purpose, it is advantageous if the hopper and the discharge device form an interchangeable unit on the combined machine.
[0026] If the precision seeder includes a ridging plate, sowing can also be carried out in a single pass along with the ridging process. If a coulter of the precision seeder is positioned in a recess of the ridging plate, the seed can be placed directly into the emerging ridge, thus achieving very precise depth control.
[0027] According to another advantageous embodiment, the machine is designed as a lifting machine for connection to a tractor.
[0028] It is also possible for the machine to be combined with a tractor, with the loosening tool mounted directly on the tractor. In this case, the machine does not have its own chassis. The depth control of the tools can be achieved, for example, using gauge wheels.
[0029] According to an advantageous further development of the machine combined with a tractor, the tractor in working position is essentially only burdened by the weight of the storage hopper. Through a favorable design, a weight distribution can be achieved in which the weight of the attached machine hardly burdens the tractor, while the device for building the final dam is advantageously loaded.
[0030] Additional tools, particularly as front-mounted implements, can be fitted to the machine. For example, it is advantageous to use a leveling bar or spring tines as front-mounted implements. A fertilizer spreader can also be fitted as an additional tool. This is preferably positioned across the entire working width, allowing the fertilizer to be metered and incorporated according to the machine's path. This eliminates the need for a further pass, which further reduces fuel consumption. Furthermore, the fertilizer can be applied almost directly at the seed placement point, resulting in improved effectiveness.
[0031] A particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the supply of planting material to a dispensing chamber of the planting device can be controlled depending on the fill level in the dispensing chamber. Advantageously, the planting device includes a device for detecting the fill level in the dispensing chamber. This ensures a consistently uniform supply of planting material in the dispensing chamber, resulting in a very even distribution of the individual planting cups of the dispensing device. Double plantings and gaps are reliably avoided in this way.
[0032] According to another embodiment of the invention, the planting device comprises a conveying device for transporting the planting material from the storage container to the dispensing chamber. In a multi-row machine, the invention states that each pair of rows is assigned a common conveying device. This allows for a particularly uniform conveying of planting material into the dispensing chambers of the individual rows.
[0033] In a mechanized seeding method, the steps of seedbed preparation, sowing, and final ridge construction are carried out by tools mounted on an agricultural machine. These steps are performed simultaneously in a single pass. First, the machine's wheels drive over the soil to break it up evenly, crumbling and crumbling it. This facilitates subsequent planting and, in particular, ridge construction. Next, a loosening tool prepares the seedbed, the seeds or seedlings are sown, and finally, the final ridge is built. The machine's wheels only act on the soil before loosening. This effectively prevents harmful soil compaction in the wheel tracks. The wheels' uniform crumbling of the soil results in a particularly favorable and fine crumb structure, making the process suitable even for heavy soils.
[0034] Particularly even soil mulching can be achieved by ensuring that the wheels of the agricultural machine cover almost the entire working width. This can be accomplished, for example, by using wide tires that exert only minimal pressure on the soil.
[0035] Further advantages of the invention are described in connection with the following exemplary embodiments. These show: Fig. 1 a schematic representation of a combined machine according to the invention in a side view in drawn form, Fig. 2 a schematic front view of the machine according to the invention with oscillating wheel suspension in section, Fig. 3 a schematic top view of the machine according to the invention with swiveling wheels, Fig. 4 a schematic representation of a machine according to the invention as a lifting machine and Fig. 5 another embodiment of a machine according to the invention with an improved planting device. Fig. 6 another embodiment of a machine according to the invention, in which a sowing device for grain is arranged as a planting device, Fig. 7 a schematic representation of a dam forming plate to which a share is attached in a height-adjustable manner.
[0036] Fig. Figure 1 shows a side view of a combined agricultural machine 1 according to the invention in a trailed configuration. The machine 1 has a loosening tool 2, a planting device 3, and a device for building the final ridge 4. The devices are arranged on a common support frame 5, which allows the operations of seedbed preparation, planting, and final ridge building to be combined in a single operation. In this case, the combined machine 1 is designed as a trailed machine with its own chassis 8. However, a version as a mounted lifting machine is also possible. In this case, a rotary harrow is provided as the loosening tool 2, which enables particularly good seedbed preparation. The harrow is equipped with a conventional mounting device 9, so that it can be removed from the machine and taken out for use in another machine.Following the loosening tool 2 in the direction of travel is a planting device 3, which in this case is designed as a cup planter. A hydraulic cylinder 13 serves to raise the machine.
[0037] The planting unit 3 consists of a hydraulic tipping hopper as a storage container 10 for the seed, a rotating bucket elevator 11 for singulating and conveying the seed, and a planting share 7. The planting material, in particular seed potatoes 12, is placed in a furrow drawn by the share 7 via the bucket elevator 11. The shares can be designed, for example, as height-adjustable double disc shares, but other designs are also possible. Any plant debris present, e.g., from winter cover crops, is cut by the disc shares and thus does not cause blockages. To break up the remaining layer of soil between the two discs of the share and to achieve central tuber placement, a height-adjustable comb breaker is arranged between the two discs (not shown here).A hydraulic cylinder allows the storage container to be tilted in its position, enabling a constant supply of the planting material 12.
[0038] In this invention, a ridge-forming plate 14 is arranged downstream of the planting device 3 for the final ridge construction, ensuring stable ridge formation in a single operation combining seedbed preparation and planting. According to the invention, the compact design of the machine 1 eliminates the need for wheels 18 downstream of the loosening tool 2, unlike known machines of the prior art. In these machines, seedbed preparation is carried out in a separate operation preceding planting. The already loosened soil is then driven over by a planting machine and often by a subsequent bed-cutter, with the wheels of these machines compacting and firming the loosened soil.
[0039] In the present machine 1, according to the invention, wheels 18 for supporting the machine 1 are arranged only in the direction of travel in front of the loosening tool 2, which is made possible by the compact design of the machine 1. The present machine 1 is equipped with wide tires 15, which cover almost the entire working width of the machine 1. Due to the significantly larger contact area, only a very low pressure, well below 1 bar, is applied to the ground, so that no significant soil compaction occurs due to the front wheels 18 of the machine. Furthermore, by driving over the entire working width, the soil is evenly crumbled and clods contained in the soil are broken up. The remaining small ribs between the wheels are driven over by the tractor wheels if appropriately arranged, so that the weight is distributed evenly over the entire working width.Crushing and breaking up the soil and preventing further compaction by machine wheels significantly facilitates the construction of the final ridge. Furthermore, the wider contact area allows for a consistent planting depth, largely independent of the fill level of the hopper 10. This document shows a version of the machine 1 with four wheels 18 equipped with wide tires, which also enables driving on roads. However, instead of wheels 18, a single roller covering the entire working width can also be used.
[0040] To achieve a compact design for the machine 1, the storage container 10 is arranged above the loosening device 9. Due to the arrangement of the storage container 10 according to the invention, the center of gravity of the machine 1 can be shifted forward in the direction of travel, so that no additional wheels 18 are needed behind the loosening tool 2. Since the arrangement of the wheels 18 according to the invention prevents further soil compaction, a ridge-forming plate 14 can be directly attached to the planting machine 3, enabling the creation of uniform, smooth, and stable ridges even on heavy soils.
[0041] In the embodiment shown, the planting unit 3 of the machine is formed by a cup-placer. However, a belt conveyor can also be fitted instead of the cup conveyor.
[0042] Fig. Figure 2 shows a schematic front view of the machine 1 according to the invention with a pivoting wheel suspension. For this purpose, two wheels 18 are connected to a common axle 19, which is pivotally mounted on the support frame 5. This allows for more precise depth control even on uneven ground, which can otherwise only be achieved with a roller.
[0043] Fig. Figure 3 shows a further advantageous embodiment of the machine 1 according to the invention with pivoting wheels 18 in a schematic top view. Since, in a multi-row version of the machine 1, the working width exceeds the track width of the tractor, it is possible, for example, to arrange two wide tires 15 on the machine 1 for depth control and soil reconsolidation in such a way that they run largely alongside the tractor wheels 20 (shown here in dashed lines) when the machine 1 is coupled to the tractor in working position. In order not to exceed the permissible maximum width when traveling on the road, the wheels 18 can be pivoted by 90° in the respective direction of travel (dashed line). This makes it possible to couple the machine 1 to a tractor in a direction offset by 90°. Advantageously, one side of the machine 1 is raised with the tractor for this purpose. In working position, almost the entire working width of machine 1 is traversed, as the space between the machine's wheels 18 is covered by the tractor's wheels 20. Only the tractor's rear wheels are shown here. Such a machine 1 is suitable for both multi-row and standard four-row configurations. With a four-row configuration, this also makes it possible to increase the ridge width, as the maximum permissible width for road travel no longer limits the working width.
[0044] Fig. Figure 4 shows a schematic representation of a machine 1 according to the invention as a lifting machine. The machine 1 is combined with a tractor and does not have its own chassis 8. This allows the machine 1 to be designed to be particularly compact. The machine 1 can be mounted on a tractor as a lifting machine, and the appropriate arrangement of the machine 1's components ensures that the weight of the attachment is largely neutral with respect to the tractor in the working position. Essentially, the tractor is only burdened by the weight of the storage container 10; the majority of the attachment's weight rests on the dam-forming plate 14. This advantageously loads the dam-forming plate 14 and the device for final dam construction 4, resulting in improved dam formation. This arrangement is particularly beneficial when the storage container 10 is low.
[0045] For road transport, machine 1 can be raised using the tractor's hydraulic attachment. Thanks to its compact design and the option of connecting it to a conventional tractor, this machine 1 can be manufactured cost-effectively and is therefore also suitable for small farms.
[0046] Another embodiment of a machine 1 according to the invention with an improved planting device 3 is described in Fig. Figure 5 shows a schematic representation. The planting device 3 according to the present illustration consists of a fixed storage container 10, to which a scooping chamber 21 for the planting material 12 is assigned. The planting device 3 also features a circulating bucket elevator 11 as a dispensing device. According to the invention, the planting device 3 has a device for detecting the fill level in the scooping chamber 21, which is, for example, designed as an optical sensor 22. By means of this device, it is possible to control the supply of planting material 12 into the scooping chamber 21 depending on the height of the fill level in the scooping chamber 21, thereby achieving a substantially constant, optimal fill level. Furthermore, the length I of the vibrating section is always the same. The vibration of the planting material 12 on the vibrating section prevents multiple occupancy of the individual dispensing buckets.
[0047] In known prior art devices, the fill level in the dispensing chamber 21 depended on the amount of planting material 12 in the storage container 10. Consequently, the length of the vibrating section I also depended on the remaining amount of planting material. At a high fill level in the dispensing chamber 21, this resulted in double filling of the individual planting cups of the extraction device due to an insufficiently short vibrating section, while at a low fill level, gaps were to be expected. Adjusting the settings of the vibrating unit during operation was only possible to a very limited extent.
[0048] In the illustrated diagram, a constant fill level in the dispensing chamber 21 is maintained by a conveying device 23, which interrupts the supply of planting material 12 to the dispensing chamber 21 as soon as a preset, optimal fill level is reached. This eliminates the need for the operator to visually check the occupancy of the dispensing device, as is required in the prior art. The tractor driver can directly monitor the occupancy and its contents while driving.
[0049] To achieve the most uniform distribution possible of the planting material 12 across the individual rows of multi-row machines 1, two or more conveying devices 23 are preferably arranged side by side in the storage container 10. It is particularly advantageous if the feeding chamber 21 of two rows is supplied by a common conveying device 23. This ensures a largely uniform supply to all feeding chambers 21 of the machine 1 with minimal structural effort.
[0050] In the example shown, a cup feeder 11 is provided as the extraction device; however, a belt feeder could also be used. Furthermore, a conveyor 23 could also be arranged for each row or extraction device, although this increases the construction effort and costs.
[0051] Since the machine 1 according to the invention does not have wheels that compact the soil, it is possible to combine the operations of seedbed preparation, planting, and ridge formation into a single operation in one machine. This results in significant fuel savings as well as a considerable reduction in costly labor hours. Since a separate, upstream loosening process for seedbed preparation is eliminated, there is also a saving in tractor hours. The harvest yield can be increased by the machine combination according to the invention because a consistent planting depth and precise central placement of the seed 12 are achieved. Particularly on side slopes, an off-center offset of the seed placement point 12 can no longer occur. Due to the consistently central placement of the tubers, a green component of the harvest can be almost completely avoided.
[0052] Since the tools are arranged on a support frame 5, the combined machine 1 also offers cost savings compared to individual machines. Furthermore, combining three operations in one machine largely eliminates weather-related risks, as there is no longer any time lag between the individual operations. Since the combined machine 1 no longer causes significant soil compaction, the yield of the pre-bed can also be considerably increased.
[0053] Fig. Figure 6 shows a further embodiment of the machine according to the invention, in which a sowing device 25, in this case a seed drill for sowing grain, is arranged as the planting device 3. The combined agricultural machine 1 is designed such that various planting devices or sowing devices can be attached to the machine via a suitable mounting device or other attachment devices. Instead of the one shown in Fig. The assembly shown in Figure 1, which comprises a storage hopper 10, the extraction device 11, the ridge forming plate 14, and the seed coulter 7, is, according to the present illustration, fitted with a seed drill for sowing grain. The seed drill also comprises a storage hopper 10, a seed extraction device consisting of a metering unit 29 and a blower 30, which conveys the seed to a distribution head 31, and a seed bar with several seed coulters 7. With appropriate design coordination of the individual components, a conventional seed drill can also be attached to or mounted on the combined agricultural machine 1. The seed drill 25 further comprises a packer roller 26 to achieve the soil reconsolidation required for sowing grain. In addition, according to the present illustration, a press roller 32 and a harrow 33 are included in the sowing device 25 to close the seed furrow.
[0054] However, it is also possible to attach other planting or sowing devices 3, 25 to the machine 1. In particular, it is advantageous to attach precision seeders to the combined agricultural machine 1. For this purpose, for example, the ridging plate 14, possibly with a seed coulter 7 attached to it, can be arranged interchangeably on the machine 1, so that different ridging plates can be used depending on the requirements.
[0055] Fig. Figure 7 shows a schematic representation of a ridge forming plate 14, to which a planting share 7 is adjustable. If the planting share 7 is arranged in a height-adjustable manner on the device for final ridge construction 4, particularly precise seed placement at a constant depth can be achieved.
[0056] According to the presentation of Fig. In this case, the seed coulter 7 is arranged in a recess 28 of the ridge-forming plate 14. This makes it possible to introduce the seed into the resulting ridge, thereby achieving extremely precise depth control. This arrangement is particularly advantageous in conjunction with a precision seeder. It is becoming increasingly common to cultivate crops such as maize on ridges, as this allows for a largely constant and uniform temperature level within the ridge. With the ridge-forming plate 14 according to the invention, it is thus possible to construct a ridge and insert the seed in a single operation, while simultaneously introducing fertilizer, or in the case of maize, phosphorus, into the soil.
[0057] The advantages of the combined agricultural machine 1 according to the invention are thus fully realized even in conjunction with a seed drill for grain or a precision seed drill, since multiple passes over the soil to be cultivated are eliminated and no compaction occurs in the tractor tracks. This allows for particularly uniform germination and increases the harvest yield. At the same time, due to the versatile application possibilities of the combined agricultural machine 1, often only individual components of the machines to be mounted are required, thus also resulting in cost savings.
[0058] The invention is not limited to the illustrated embodiments. For example, instead of being built as a four-row machine as shown, the machine can also be constructed in other multi-row configurations, or a belt conveyor can be used instead of the bucket conveyor shown. Likewise, the machine can be used to plant other seed crops or seeds besides potatoes, such as carrots or sugar beets. The machine can be used not only as a planting machine but also as a ridge-forming machine.
[0059] An advantage of the machine according to the invention is that no further work steps are required after the ridges have been built. This allows the ridges to be arranged in any number and at any intervals. There is no risk of subsequent damage to the ridge sides or the resulting product. When cultivating in beds, wider tires than usual can also be used. Additionally, ridging discs or covering discs can be assigned to the planting unit to facilitate the final ridge construction. Further modifications within the scope of the patent claims also fall under the invention.
