AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing vehicle seats require the entire seat to be removed from the vehicle to facilitate the attachment and removal of the cushion body components, making the process cumbersome and inefficient.

Method used

A seat design featuring a cushion body with separate members that can be easily attached and removed from the seat frame using a plug-in fixing structure, allowing for easy access and installation without disassembling the seat from its installed position, and incorporating support members that facilitate tool engagement and alignment.

Benefits of technology

Enables quick and efficient attachment and removal of cushion components directly from the seat frame, reducing installation time and simplifying maintenance without the need to remove the seat from its installed location.

Abstract

A cushion body (20) of a seat is configured to be divided into three parts such as a main top plate (21) and respective side top plates (22). Each side top plate (22) has a side plate resin member (22C) disposed on the back of its cushion. Fixing brackets (Ab) extend from respective tilt arms (12A) of the cushion frame (10). The side plate resin members (22C) rest on the fixing bracket (Ab) and are fixed by a push-in fixing structure (T). Each push-in fixing structure (T) has a head (T1h) of a screw (T1) engaged with a fixing tool (D). The head (T1h) is exposed in the opening (SP), which is an installation space for the main top plate (21).

Claims

[1] Seat, which includes: a seat frame; and a cushion body adapted to be supported by the seat frame from a back side and to elastically support a seated person, wherein the cushion body comprises three separate elements divided into a main top plate forming a central portion in a seat width direction and respective side top plates forming two side portions in the seat width direction, wherein each of the side top panels comprises an upper side top panel cushion and a support member disposed on a back side of the side top panel cushion and fixed to the seat frame, wherein each side frame of the seat frame is adapted to support a respective one of the side top panels from a rear side of the seat, and each frame attachment portion forms a structural unit with a respective one of the side frames, wherein the support elements each rest on a corresponding one of the frame fastening sections and are fastened to a corresponding one of the frame fastening sections via a corresponding plug-in fastening structure, wherein the main top plate is releasably attached to the seat frame by snapping, and wherein an opening serving as an installation space for the main top plate is formed in a main top plate removed state when the main top plate is removed from the seat frame, so that a tool engagement portion of the plug-in fastening structures is exposed through the corresponding opening. [2] Seat according to claim 1, wherein: the frame attachment portions each extend from a corresponding one of the side frames diagonally rearward to an inner side in the seat width direction, the frame fastening sections each have an overlapping surface on which a corresponding one of the support elements rests, and a direction perpendicular to the overlap surface to the opening. [3] Seat according to claim 1 or 2, wherein: an engagement hole is formed in each of the side frames, each of the support members further comprises an engagement claw, and the engaging claw is inserted into the engaging hole and slid to be hooked into the side frame. [4] Seat according to claim 1 or 2, wherein: the tool engagement section has a screw head, and the head is arranged on a side of a respective one of the plug-in fastening structures that is closest to the opening. [5] Seat according to claim 1 or 2, wherein: a base section is provided which forms a structural unit with the seat frame, the main top plate has a fitting claw, and the fitting claw is releasably engaged to the base portion by pressing from a front side of the seat. [6] An assembly method for assembling the seat according to claim 1 or 2, the method comprising: Arranging the support elements of the individual side top plates on the corresponding one of the frame attachment sections; Mounting the support elements to the seat frame using the plug-in fastening structures; and Mounting the main top plate to the seat frame after mounting the side top plate.
