Abstract

An imaging device is provided that is capable of preventing a pressure increase during heating in a receiving chamber containing an imaging element, without increasing the number of components and steps. [Solution] An imaging device includes a base substrate having a mounting surface, an imaging element provided on the mounting surface, a cover glass covering a light-receiving surface, a lens provided over the imaging element on a side opposite the base substrate, and a support attached to the mounting surface which, together with the lens, forms a receiving chamber that receives the imaging element and the cover glass between the support and the base substrate.The substrate is formed with a through-hole that penetrates the mounting surface and a rear surface of the mounting surface, allowing the imaging chamber to communicate with an external environment. If the distance between the light-receiving surface, which is a surface of the imaging element facing the coverslip, and an incident surface, which is a surface of the coverslip facing the lens, is defined as L, and the diameter of the through-hole is defined as D, then L > 10 × D.
