Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a conductor connection terminal in the form of a distribution terminal block, which has a housing with a plurality of conductor insertion openings and spring-loaded terminal connections arranged in the housing and accessible via the conductor insertion openings for connecting electrical conductors, wherein at least one first spring-loaded terminal connection is designed for connecting large-cross-section electrical conductors, via which electrical signals can be fed into the conductor connection terminal, and a plurality of second spring-loaded terminal connections are provided, which are designed for connecting small-cross-section electrical conductors whose conductor cross-section is significantly smaller than the conductor cross-section of large-cross-section electrical conductors, wherein the first and second spring-loaded terminal connections are electrically conductively connected to one another via a busbar arrangement.
[0002] Such a conductor connection terminal is known from EP 2 456 011 B1.
[0003] The invention is based on the object of further improving such a conductor connection terminal.
[0004] This object is achieved in a conductor connection terminal of the type mentioned at the outset in that the conductor connection terminal has a modular design, wherein the conductor connection terminal has at least one feed-in module containing the at least one first spring-loaded clamp connection, and a plurality of distribution modules plugged together to form a distribution block, in each of which at least one second spring-loaded clamp connection is arranged, wherein the feed-in module and each distribution module each have their own housing section, wherein the housing of the conductor connection terminal is formed by the housing sections of the feed-in module and the plugged-together distribution modules. Such a modularly designed distribution terminal block has the advantage that it can be flexibly configured by the manufacturer or the end user with regard to its connection options. In particular, the number of distribution modules plugged together to form the distribution block can be freely selected. In this way, the distribution terminal block can be optimally adapted to the respective application.
[0005] On the manufacturing side, advantages arise from the use of identical parts in the distribution modules, as well as reduced inventory for different variants of distribution terminal blocks, as was necessary with non-modular distribution terminal blocks according to the prior art. Advantageously, the distribution terminal block according to the invention can be provided with full compatibility with conventional distribution terminal blocks in terms of electrical connection values. In particular, the full rated current fed into the busbar arrangement via the feed-in module can be passed through to the last distribution module.
[0006] A distribution terminal block is used to distribute an electrical signal or electrical energy fed into the distribution terminal block via an electrical line to several electrical lines also arranged on the distribution terminal block, which lines generally have a smaller cross-section than the electrical line supplying the signal or electrical energy. In the distribution terminal block according to the invention, the supplying electrical line is connected to the feed-in module, and the small-cross-section electrical conductors carrying this supplied electrical energy or signal are connected to spring-loaded terminal connections on the distribution modules. The feed-in module can be plugged into the first distribution module of the distribution block in the same way that the distribution modules can be plugged together. The same plug-in connection technology can be used.
[0007] The feed-in module can, in particular, have only a first spring-loaded terminal connection. The distribution modules can be identical or different in design. A distribution module can, for example, have one spring-loaded terminal connection or two spring-loaded terminal connections arranged symmetrically to a center plane of the distribution module. A distribution module can also have more than two spring-loaded terminal connections. For example, one, two, or more spring-loaded terminal connections can be present next to one another in a distribution module in the direction in which the distribution modules are arranged. In particular, the system can comprise distribution modules with housing sections of different widths in the direction in which they are arranged. It is also conceivable for the system to contain only one type of distribution module, all of which are identical in design.
[0008] A spring-loaded terminal connection can, for example, have a clamping spring or be designed as such a clamping spring. The clamping spring can, for example, be suspended from the busbar section of the respective module, i.e., the feed-in module or the distribution module, e.g., in an opening in the busbar section. The busbar section of a distribution module can also have a type of clamping cage for accommodating one or more clamping springs of the spring-loaded terminal connections or be formed integrally with such a clamping cage.
[0009] A distribution terminal block, for example, is characterized by a block-like, essentially prismatic housing, unlike other types of conductor terminals. On one conductor connection side of the housing, the housing shape may be slightly different from the purely prismatic form, e.g., a trapezoidal shape in side view.
[0010] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the distribution modules each have a busbar section arranged at least predominantly within their respective housing section, which forms part of the busbar arrangement of the distribution terminal block. As a result, the distribution modules are also modular in terms of the current-transmitting component, i.e., the busbar arrangement.
[0011] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the busbar sections of adjacent distribution modules are each electrically connected to one another by a distribution module having at least one connection contact protruding from the housing section on a first housing side of its housing section, and the adjacent distribution module having at least one connection opening on the second housing side of its housing section facing the first housing side, through which a connection contact of the other distribution module plugged onto it is plugged and electrically contacted with the busbar section of the adjacent distribution module. This allows the distribution modules to be easily plugged together laterally to form the distribution block in the manner of a plug-in system.
[0012] The distribution block formed in this way thus has at least one connection contact on one side protruding from the housing section of its distribution module.
[0013] This can then be plugged into the feed-in module using the same plug-in system. For this purpose, the feed-in module can advantageously have a connection opening on one side of the housing through which the connection contact can be inserted and electrically connected to the busbar section of the feed-in module. On the opposite side, the distribution block then has at least one exposed connection opening. On this side, the distribution block can be closed off, for example, by an end plate, for example a plate made of insulating material, which can have at least one protruding pin shaped similarly to the protruding connection contact and can be inserted into the connection opening accordingly.
[0014] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the distribution modules each have at least two connection contacts protruding from the housing section on the first housing side and, analogously, at least two connection openings on the second housing side, in particular symmetrically arranged connection contacts and connection openings. By at least two such electrical connections by means of the connection contacts, the current-carrying capacity of the busbar arrangement formed from the individual busbar sections can be increased. In addition, redundancy in the electrical contact is created, which improves the reliability and safety of the conductor connection terminal. The connection contacts and their associated connection openings can, in particular, be arranged symmetrically in such a way that they are arranged mirror-symmetrically to a center plane of the distribution block, which runs in the direction of assembly.
[0015] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the at least one connection contact protruding from the housing section is formed integrally with the busbar section arranged in the housing section. This simplifies the manufacture of the distribution modules and their assembly, making them more cost-effective. Furthermore, such a one-piece design can further improve the current-carrying capacity and minimize contact resistance.
[0016] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the at least one connection contact is designed as a contact lug bent from the material of the busbar section. This also facilitates simple production of the busbar sections of the distribution modules, particularly using conventional manufacturing processes. The contact lug can, for example, be shaped similarly to a contact blade of a blade contact of a connector.
[0017] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the at least one connection contact is designed as a separate component from the busbar section, which can be inserted into the housing section as needed and connected to the busbar section arranged in the housing section. This further increases the flexibility in configuring the modular conductor connection terminal. The connection contacts, which are designed as a separate component and can only be inserted as needed, can be omitted, for example, in the last distribution module in the plugged-together series arrangement of distribution modules, so that no connection contact protrudes from the housing section there.
[0018] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the connection contact has a U-shape in cross-section. In this way, the connection contact can be easily inserted into the housing sections of two adjacent distribution modules and contacted with their busbar sections. For example, one vertical leg of the U-shape can be connected to the busbar section of one distribution module and the other vertical leg of the U-shape can be connected to the busbar section of the adjacent distribution module. The busbar section of a distribution module can be electrically contacted on both sides by two vertical legs of different U-shaped connection contacts, which are pressed together by a clamping spring. The U-shaped connection contacts then extend to the busbar sections of the adjacent distribution modules on the left and right.
[0019] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the distribution modules each have at least one connecting contact designed as a counterpart to the at least one protruding connection contact, with which the connection contact of an adjacent distribution module can be plugged together in the manner of a plug connection, wherein the connecting contact is arranged on the busbar section of the respective distribution module. This allows for simple and reliable plugging of the distribution modules and secure electrical contact.
[0020] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the at least one connecting contact is formed integrally with the busbar section of the respective distribution module. This simplifies the manufacture of the distribution modules and their assembly, making them more cost-effective. Furthermore, such a one-piece design can further improve the current-carrying capacity and minimize contact resistance.
[0021] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the connecting contact is designed as a contact lug bent from the material of the busbar section. This also facilitates simple production of the busbar sections of the distribution modules, particularly using conventional manufacturing processes. The contact lug can, for example, be shaped similarly to a contact blade of a blade contact of a connector.
[0022] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, a clamping spring is arranged on the respective connecting contact, by means of which a connection contact plugged into the connecting contact can be pressed against the connecting contact. Such a clamping spring can establish secure contact and, in particular, provide sufficient contact force. The clamping spring can be an additional clamping spring to the clamping springs of the spring-loaded terminal connections, which serves specifically for contacting the connection contact and the connecting contact. Alternatively, a clamping spring of a distribution module can be used to press the connection contact against the connecting contact; this clamping spring also functions as a clamping spring of a spring-loaded terminal connection of the distribution module.
[0023] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the clamping spring has a first spring leg, a spring arc adjoining the first spring leg, and a second spring leg adjoining the spring arc, with the connecting contact being arranged between the first and second spring legs. In this way, the clamping spring can be supported with one spring leg on the connecting contact and with the other spring leg on the inserted connection contact. The clamping spring can be permanently attached to the connecting contact, e.g., as a preloaded spring, clamped thereto by its spring force.
[0024] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the first spring leg is arranged substantially parallel to the second spring leg. This allows for good contact and easy insertion of the connecting contact.
[0025] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, an insertion tab is arranged on the first spring leg and / or the second spring leg, projecting toward the connection opening and extending at an oblique angle to the respective spring leg, forming an insertion funnel for inserting the connection contact. This further simplifies the insertion of the connection contact into the plug connection formed in this way.
[0026] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the clamping spring is omega-shaped when viewed from the side. Such a shape enables a high spring force to be achieved with a comparatively small clamping spring design. The omega-shaped design of the clamping spring can in particular be designed such that the first and second spring legs, starting from the spring arc, initially converge on one another and are bent away from one another again towards the free end, so that an insertion funnel is formed in the longitudinal direction of the clamping spring towards the free end of the spring legs. Such a design of the clamping spring is particularly advantageous for connecting distribution modules with connection contacts that are U-shaped in cross-section and are designed as separate components.
[0027] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the at least one connecting contact is designed as a fork contact, in particular as a fork contact arranged within the housing section, which is configured for mating with a blade contact. Such a connecting contact can particularly advantageously accommodate a terminal contact in the form of a blade contact. Furthermore, such a connecting contact can be easily formed integrally with the busbar section of a distribution module. The connecting contact is thus designed as a socket contact.
[0028] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the clamping spring is designed to be mirror-symmetrical to a plane of symmetry extending between the first spring leg and the second spring leg. This allows for a compact clamping spring with high spring force.
[0029] The object mentioned at the outset is also achieved by a distribution module of a conductor connection terminal of the type explained above, wherein the distribution module can be plugged together and electrically connected in a series direction with another identically designed distribution module in order to form a distribution block of the conductor connection terminal of the type explained above. This also makes it possible to achieve the advantages explained above. The distribution module can in particular be designed such that it has at least one connection contact protruding from the housing section on a first housing side of its housing section and at least one connection opening on the second housing side diametrically opposite the first housing side, through which a connection contact of another distribution module plugged onto it can be plugged in and electrically contacted with the busbar section of the distribution module.
[0030] In summary, the invention can achieve the following advantages, among others: - Free configurability of a distribution terminal block, - Redundancy of the electrical connections between the modules, - Increased current carrying capacity of the busbar arrangement, - Production of the individual components using conventional manufacturing processes, - Simple and logical joining and plugging together of the distribution modules to form the distribution block and plugging together with the feed-in module to form the complete distribution terminal block.
[0031] For the purposes of the present invention, the indefinite term "a" is not to be understood as a numerical term. Therefore, if, for example, a component is mentioned, this is to be interpreted as "at least one component." Angles expressed in degrees refer to a circle of 360 degrees (360°).
[0032] The invention is explained in more detail below using exemplary embodiments and drawings.
[0033] It shows Fig. 1 - a modular conductor connection terminal in the form of a distribution terminal block in perspective view, Fig. 2, Fig. 3 - the busbar arrangement of the conductor connection terminal according to Fig. 1 in different perspective views, Fig. 4 - a distribution block of the conductor terminal according to Fig. 1 with a cover plate in perspective view, Fig. 5, Fig. 6 - another embodiment of a busbar arrangement of a conductor connection terminal in various perspective views, Fig. 7 - another embodiment of a busbar arrangement of a conductor connection terminal with spring-loaded terminal connections and actuating elements arranged thereon in a perspective view, Fig. 8 - a busbar section of a feed-in module in perspective view, Fig. 9 - a busbar section and spring-loaded terminal connections of a distribution module in perspective view, Fig. 10 - the arrangement according to Fig. 7 in a top view.
[0034] The Fig. 1 shows a conductor connection terminal 1 in the form of a distribution terminal block. The conductor connection terminal 1 has a modular design with a feed-in module 11 and several distribution modules 12. The distribution modules 12 are plugged together to form a distribution block. The distribution block is plugged together with the feed-in module 11. The feed-in module 11 has a housing section 21. The distribution modules 12 each have a housing section 22. The plugged-together housing sections 21, 22 of the aforementioned modules form a block-shaped housing 2 of the conductor connection terminal 1.
[0035] It can also be seen that the housing section 21 has a relatively large conductor insertion opening L1 for receiving a large-cross-section electrical conductor. The housing sections 22 of the distribution modules 12 each have two conductor insertion openings L2, which are smaller than the conductor insertion opening L1 and are each designed to receive a small-cross-section electrical conductor. Each of the conductor insertion openings L1, L2 is assigned to a spring-loaded terminal connection arranged in the respective housing section 21, 22. The housing sections 21, 22 each have an associated actuation opening 5 for each spring-loaded terminal connection, through which the spring-loaded terminal connection can be actuated by means of a tool or an actuation element fixed to the conductor connection terminal, e.g. an actuation push-button. In addition, a busbar section is arranged in each of the housing sections 21, 22, wherein Fig. 1 only the busbar section 32 of the last distribution module 32 of the series arrangement is visible.
[0036] The Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 illustrate an advantageous embodiment of a busbar arrangement 3 of the conductor connection terminal 1 according to Fig. 1. It can be seen that the busbar arrangement 3 has a busbar section 31 of the feed-in module 11 and three busbar sections 32 of the respective distribution modules 12. The busbar sections 31, 32 have an opening 6 for each spring-loaded terminal connection, through which the electrical conductor to be connected can be passed. In this area, the clamping spring for clamping the electrical conductor is also arranged as part of the spring-loaded terminal connection, which can be done in a known manner and in the Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 is therefore not shown for the sake of clarity.
[0037] It can be seen that the busbar sections 32 of the distribution modules 12 are each connected to one another and electrically contacted by connecting contacts 34 extending from one busbar section to the next. Furthermore, electrical contact with the busbar section 31 of the feed-in module 11 is established via connecting contacts 34 of the last busbar section 32. The connecting contacts 34 can, for example, be formed integrally with the material of a respective busbar section 32 and protrude from it in the manner of connecting lugs or blade contacts.
[0038] In the illustrated embodiment, the busbar sections 32 of the distribution modules 12 and also the busbar section 31 of the feed-in module 11 have connecting contacts 33 which serve as counterparts to the connection contacts 34 and can each be electrically contacted with the connection contacts 34. In each case, a connection contact 34 rests against a connection contact 33. The connection contacts 33 can also be formed integrally with the material of the respective busbar section 31, 32 and, for example, be designed as a connection lug bent at the end. It is particularly advantageous that the contacting of the individual busbar sections 31, 32 with one another is symmetrical on both sides, i.e. at both ends of each busbar section 32 there is a connection contact 34 which can be connected to a corresponding connecting contact 33.
[0039] In order to ensure secure electrical contact between a connection contact 34 and a connecting contact 33, a clamping spring 7 is provided for each of these connections. The clamping spring 7 each has a first spring leg 71 and a second spring leg 72. The spring legs 71, 72 are connected to one another via a spring arch 70. The first spring leg 71 rests against a respective connecting contact 33, the second spring leg 72 rests against a respective connection contact 34, so that the respective connection contact 34 is pressed against the connecting contact 33 via the spring legs 71, 72. The connection contact 34 and the connecting contact 33 are thus each received between the first and second spring legs 71, 72 of a clamping spring 7. Only in the last busbar section 32 extending from the busbar section 31 is no connection contact 34 inserted.
[0040] To facilitate the connection of the busbar sections or the individual distribution modules 12 to each other and to the feed-in module 11, an insertion tab 73 protruding diagonally from the respective spring leg can be provided on the first and second spring legs 71, 72 of the clamping springs 7. The insertion tabs 73 point away from each other and thus form an insertion funnel for inserting a connection contact 34.
[0041] In the individual distribution modules 12, such a busbar section 32 with the associated clamping springs 7 is arranged in the housing section 22. This results in the connection contacts 34 protruding from the respective housing section 22 on a first housing side of the housing section 22, as shown in the Fig. 4, as can be seen from the last distribution module 22. The housing sections 22 have a respective connection opening on a housing side diametrically opposite the first housing side, through which a respective protruding connection contact 34 can be passed. The connection opening can, for example, essentially correspond to the cross-sectional dimensions of a connection contact 34.
[0042] It is also possible, as in the Fig. 1 that the housing section 22 is partially open on the first housing side, i.e., without a housing wall that largely closes the housing section 22. This saves installation space, allowing the distribution terminal block to be designed relatively compactly. To close the open first housing side of the last distribution module 12, a cover plate 8 can be arranged there and coupled to the housing module 22, as shown in Fig. 4. For example, the end plate 8 can have protruding pins 80 that are shaped similarly to the connection contacts 34 protruding from a housing module 22. The pins 80 can then be connected, similarly to the connection contacts 34, via the clamping springs 7 to the connecting contacts 33 of the busbar section 32 of the last distribution module 12.
[0043] The Fig. 5 shows a further embodiment of an advantageous design of a busbar arrangement 3 of a conductor connection terminal 1, for example a conductor connection terminal 1 according to Fig. 1. Again, several busbar sections 32 of distribution modules 12 and one busbar section 31 of a feed-in module 11 can be seen. In this case, clamping springs forming spring-loaded terminal connections 4 are also arranged on the busbar sections 31, 32.
[0044] U-shaped connection contacts 34 are used to connect the adjacent busbar sections 31, 32 to each other. These contacts are mechanically fixed in each distribution module 12 and in the feed-in module 11 via an essentially omega-shaped clamping spring 7 and are electrically contacted with the busbar section 31, 32. This is explained in the following Fig. 6 is further illustrated by a sectional view.
[0045] As the Fig. 6 shows, a connection contact 34 in this case extends from one distribution module 12 to the next distribution module 12 or from the last distribution module 12 to the feed-in module 11. The U-shaped connection contacts 34 each have a horizontal leg 36 and, at the ends of each of these, a vertical leg 35, 37 bent relative to the horizontal leg. In a distribution module 12, a connecting contact 33, designed, for example, as a connecting lug, of a busbar section 32 is then received between two vertical legs 35, 37 of different connection contacts 34. This arrangement comprising the two vertical legs 35, 37 and the connecting contact 33 is pressed together by a clamping spring 7 placed above it.
[0046] To assemble the individual distribution modules 12 into the distribution block and to connect the distribution block to the feed-in module 11, the clamping spring 7 can be pressed down from above onto the arrangement of vertical legs 35, 37 and the connecting contact 33. The clamping spring 7 can be guided by a sliding element. By pressing down this sliding element, the individual modules 11, 12 can be connected to one another both mechanically and electrically.
[0047] The Fig. 7 shows a further embodiment of an advantageous busbar arrangement 3 of a conductor connection terminal 1, for example a conductor connection terminal 1 according to Fig. 1, here again with the clamping springs of the spring-loaded terminal connections 4 and additionally with actuating elements 50 of the conductor connection terminal, here e.g. in the form of actuating buttons.
[0048] The respective busbar sections 31, 32 can be designed in the manner of a clamping cage that accommodates and secures the respective clamping spring. Furthermore, one or more connection contacts 34 and one or more connecting contacts 33 can be integrally formed on the respective busbar section 31, 32. This design is further illustrated by the figures explained below.
[0049] The Fig. 8 and Fig. 9 shows that the connecting contacts 34 can in turn be designed as connecting lugs formed integrally from the busbar section 31, 32, which protrude therefrom in a connection direction and can protrude from the respective housing section. The connecting contacts 33 assigned as counterparts can be designed as socket contacts in the form of fork contacts, each having two contact arms 39, between which a connecting contact 34 shaped like a blade contact can be received and electrically contacted.
