AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing speedometers on two-wheeled vehicles, particularly mopeds, are often mounted in unergonomic positions, leading to readability issues and instability due to vibrations, and lack suitable central mounting options that can withstand long-term road stress.

Method used

A holder with an isosceles triangle arrangement of fastening holes is designed to mount the speedometer centrally between the telescopic forks, ensuring stability and easy retrofitting, with an offset for cable freedom and even load distribution.

Benefits of technology

The solution provides stable, ergonomic, and precise mounting of the speedometer on the vehicle's longitudinal axis, preventing slipping and twisting during driving, while being robust enough to endure road stress.

Description

[0001] The invention relates to a retrofittable solution for attaching a speedometer to two-wheeled vehicles, in particular mopeds whose speedometer is mounted on the front fork bridge due to their design, for example, the moped known as the Simson S51. The bracket is particularly suitable for retrofitting two-wheelers that are not equipped with a centrally positioned speedometer mount as standard.

[0002] On many two-wheelers, speedometers are usually mounted on the side or on the handlebars. This often results in an unergonomic viewing angle and an increased risk of vibrations that impair the readability of the speedometer. Furthermore, many existing speedometer mounts are not sturdy enough to withstand the stresses of the road over extended periods, or they are not suitable for central mounting along the vehicle's longitudinal axis.

[0003] The objective of the invention is to provide a speedometer mount that allows the speedometer to be mounted centrally between the two telescopic forks of the two-wheeler, i.e., on the vehicle's longitudinal axis. The mount should be robust enough to withstand the stresses and strains of riding while simultaneously allowing for easy retrofitting to the two-wheeler.

[0004] An embodiment of the invention is described with reference to Fig. 1 explains. It shows: Fig. 1 an isometric view of a bracket for attaching a speedometer.

[0005] The invention comprises a bracket (1) with an arrangement of mounting holes in the shape of an isosceles triangle. The two lower mounting holes (2) and (3) at the ends of the base of the isosceles triangle serve for attachment to the telescopic forks or the fork bridge, while the upper hole (4) at the apex of the isosceles triangle serves for attaching the speedometer. The upper hole ensures precise and symmetrical mounting of the speedometer on the vehicle's longitudinal axis.

[0006] The connection between the mounting holes (2) and (3) is provided with a crank (5) to ensure the free passage of cables and other attachments.

[0007] This precise arrangement in a geometrically isosceles triangle ensures even load distribution and prevents the speedometer from slipping or twisting while driving. The dimensions of the mount are selected to ensure high stability. List of reference symbols 1 bracket 2 mounting hole fork bridge 3 mounting hole fork bridge 4 mounting hole speedometer 5 crank

Claims
