Decorative packaging with special effects

A package wrap for decoratively covering a container having side walls defining an interior space for carrying a product therein, includes a flexible thin sheet of polymeric material adapted to be shrink-wrapped onto the exterior of the container. An illuminating or a sound producing device is positioned between the flexible thin sheet of polymeric material and the exterior of the container so that when the flexible sheet of polymeric material is shrink-wrapped onto the container, the illuminating device or the sound device will be held securely in place. The illuminating device is adapted to be illuminated upon activation by a pressure, motion, or acoustically sensitive switch. The sound device is adapted to produce an audible signal upon activation by a pressure or motion sensitive switch. When the illuminating device is activated, illumination therefrom will be visible through the flexible thin sheet of polymeric material to enhance and highlight a printed pattern on the exterior of the package wrap.

Removable steering wheel holder for an electronic device

A removable holder for a smart phone is provided to support the smart phone in front of a driver on a steering wheel. Close proximity of the smart phone allows easy access and good visibility of its display which helps in using the GPS navigation or other features of a smart phone while the vehicle is in motion. Retention of the smart phone assures its steady position when the steering wheel is turned but at the same time allows for its deflection out of the way in case of an airbag deployment. The attachment element of the holder includes two raised bars and an elastic band to form a 3-point contact area with the steering wheel. The smart phone retainer is length-adjustable to accommodate a variety of smart phones. The holder can be easily mounted and removed from the steering wheel without using hand tools.

Movable base with wheels deployable by cyclic driving assembly

A ratcheting assembly can include a housing, a ratcheting gear, a first ratchet pawl, a motion translation member, and a ratcheting actuation member. The ratcheting gear can rotatably mount within the housing and include a plurality of ratchet teeth and an eccentric opening. The eccentric opening can include a rotational center of the ratcheting gear. The first ratchet pawl can mount to the housing adjacent to the ratcheting gear to allow rotation in a first direction and to hinder rotation in a second direction opposite the first direction. The motion translation member can mount within the opening such that rotation of the ratcheting gear can cause a movement of the motion translation member via rotation of the eccentric opening. The ratcheting actuation member can mount to the housing and include a second ratchet pawl. The second ratchet pawl can mount to the ratcheting actuation member adjacent to the ratcheting gear such that actuation of the ratcheting actuation member in the first direction can cause a rotation of the ratcheting gear and actuation of the ratcheting actuation member in the second direction opposite the first direction does not cause a rotation of the ratcheting gear.

Bicycle having internally routed control cables

An internally supported cable system control for a bicycle that does not interfere with the steering mechanism and does not require the structural integrity of the bicycle frame to be compromised. In the disclosed internal cable system, the control cables are routed through a passageway in the gooseneck and the bicycle frame to the mechanism or device that they are designed to control. The gooseneck design is unique in that it allows for an unobstructed passageway for the cables to travel into the steering tube and frame, while allowing for both sliding forward and rearward as well as raising and lowering, as desired by the bicycle rider. For aesthetic reasons, a casing may be added to cover the cabling between the control levers and the gooseneck.
