Description

[0001] The invention relates to a support system that is mounted on the vertical support pole of a commercially available roll-up display and weighted down in the base area to stabilize the roll-up when subjected to vertical and horizontal forces.

[0002] Roll-up displays have long been available in various designs, standards, and widths, using printed fabric panels for advertising purposes both indoors and outdoors. Outdoors, roll-up displays are particularly vulnerable to wind loads and can easily tip over. Even indoors, a roll-up display can begin to sway if additional support systems, such as flyer holders, are attached to the pole, causing the forces acting on the display to become unbalanced or to be knocked off balance by impacts.

[0003] Patent application No. 23721334.3 at the European Patent Office describes such an advertising holder system, which can be mounted directly on the roll-up display for the presentation of brochures, other advertising materials, but also digital media such as tablets.

[0004] Premium roll-up displays are generally stable enough to support one or even several advertising display systems. Simple, inexpensive roll-up displays tend to tip over and fall over when additional weight is added.

[0005] In the case of additional mounting weights, but also for fundamentally simpler and more unstable roll-up displays, the roll-up display support foot described here helps to prevent the roll-up display from tipping or falling over.

[0006] The roll-up display support stand described in the application can be manufactured in various versions: • Wooden thighs • Aluminum tube legs • Plastic pipe leg • Telescopic tube legs • Joint links integrated into leg construction or mountable as additional connecting components • Different leg lengths • Various leg profiles and cross-sections • Various existing accessories can be used as weights that can be placed on the angled or T-shaped piece of the support leg on the ground, for example water rings from typical beach flag accessories and others. • The T-shaped support leg lying on the ground can also be fixed in place by placing, for example, full crates of drinks, heavy packages, and other weights on it. • Connecting and swivel joints are fixed without tools using user-friendly wheel bolts or similar fasteners.

[0007] General product description Roll up Display Support Foot (RDS): The roll-up display support stand consists of at least one leg with a T-shaped base, but usually two legs with T-shaped bases. These legs can be attached to the roll-up display pole at variable angles, and in the case of two legs, they can also be secured at the joint between them. The T-shaped base is used to place weights on the stand to stabilize the roll-up display. A base plate or a cross base could also be used instead of the T-shaped base.

[0008] The more acute the angle between X and Y of the support leg attached to the roll-up display pole, the less effectively the weighted base T-piece absorbs tensile and compressive loads. Conversely, this means that the stabilization of the roll-up display increases with increasing the angle between leg length 1 (attachment point of the support leg joint on the roll-up display pole to its base, X) and leg length 2 (attachment point of the support leg joint on the roll-up display pole to the base T-piece of the support leg, Y) (see diagram). Fig. 3 below).

[0009] General effects of using a roll-up display support stand - Absorption of tensile and compressive forces on the roll-up display - Absorption of horizontal and vertical loads on the roll-up display - Added benefit through the possibility of mounting additional support systems directly on the roll-up display support foot.

[0010] The invention offers the possibility of manufacturing and offering an individually height-adjustable roll-up display support stand for individual applications as well as for use in large quantities, for example, for roll-up retailers and manufacturers. Alternatively, the support stand can be replicated by authorized third parties under a subscription model provided by the applicant, using their own 3D printer and purchased accessories, following the assembly instructions and digital drawing specifications.

[0011] Building on this, the invention provides a simple, efficient and compact method to expand conventional roll-up displays into a more comprehensive presentation medium and to increase their advertising value.

[0012] Further details, features, combinations of features, and effects based on the invention will become apparent from the following description of several embodiments of the invention with reference to a drawing. This drawing shows, in part schematically: Fig. 1. Claims

[1] Roll up display support base, characterized by that by fixing the roll up with the support foot and additional weight on the floor boom of the support foot, the roll up display is made less susceptible to wind and impact loads. [2] Roll up display support base, characterized by that it increases the multifunctional usability of a roll-up display, since the stable stand provided by appropriate weights on the arm of the support foot now enables the installation of additional loads, e.g. advertising holder systems, on the support pole of the roll-up display. [3] Roll up display support base, characterized by that it can be transported as a folding mechanism or telescopic construction in an extremely space-saving manner in the standard transport bag of a roll-up display. [4] Roll up display support base, characterized bythat its rods also serve as a support for accessories such as advertising holders, coat hooks, cup holders, tablet holders. [5] Roll up display support base, characterized by that it can be reproduced using design and 3D drawing formats by authorized third parties using a 3D printer for the plastic joint components and purchasing commercially available components such as screws, nuts and pipes. [6] Roll up display support base, characterized by that it can be individualised by authorised users by printing, embossing or mounting a label on or to the rod or the plastic joint components. [7] Roll up display support base, characterized by that both joint components and rods can be made from 100% ecological materials such as compostable plastic, wood and old pipes. [8] Roll up display support base, characterized bythat older and mechanically worn roll-up displays in particular can have their usability outdoors extended by mounting and weighting the additional support foot on the roll-up's support tube.
