Cross-reference to related application
[0001] The disclosure claims priority to Chinese patent application 202322729522.2, filed with the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) on October 11, 2023, which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety. Technical area
[0002] The disclosure relates to the technical field of batteries, in particular to a busbar assembly, a battery module and a battery pack. background
[0003] A battery module is typically formed by connecting a number of cells in series and parallel. The way the batteries are connected in series and parallel not only affects the assembly efficiency of the battery module, but also affects the main technical performance, service life, and safety of the battery module. Currently, for a cell with a positive and negative electrode arranged on the same side, the series and parallel connections between adjacent cells usually require metal strips to connect the positive and / or negative electrodes of the adjacent cells. The metal strips have a relatively simple shape and therefore cannot meet the connection requirements of different cell arrangement forms. Summary
[0004] The object of the disclosure is to provide a busbar assembly, a battery module, and a battery pack, wherein the busbar assembly satisfies the connection requirements of the arrangement types of different cells and is simple in structure, easy in processing, relatively high in strength, and not prone to breakage.
[0005] To achieve the above-mentioned objective, the following technical solutions are applied in the disclosure process: Some embodiments of the disclosure provide a busbar assembly comprising: a number of interconnected battery connecting sheets configured to connect two rows of cells arranged side by side along a first direction in series and to connect a number of cells arranged one after the other along a second direction in parallel, and a positive electrode pin and a negative electrode of each cell are arranged on the same side, each battery connecting plate has a positive connection area and a negative connection area, the positive connection area is connected to the positive electrode pin of a previous cell, the negative connection area is connected to the negative electrode of a next cell, positive connection areas of two adjacent battery connecting plates of the number of battery connecting plates are connected to each other, and a center axis of the positive connection portion of each battery connection plate coincides with a center axis of the negative connection portion of each battery connection plate, center axes of positive connection portions of the plurality of battery connection plates are parallel, an outer edge of the positive connection portion is arcuate, a width of the negative connection portion is greater than a width of the positive connection portion, and the positive connection portion and / or the negative connection portion are provided with a positioning hole. Some other embodiments of the disclosure provide a battery module comprising a number of cells and the above-mentioned bus bar assembly, wherein the bus bar assembly is connected to the number of cells. Some other embodiments of the disclosure provide a battery pack including the above-mentioned battery module.
[0006] Disclosure has the following positive effects: The disclosure provides a busbar assembly including a number of interconnected battery interconnection sheets, each battery interconnection sheet including a positive interconnection region and a negative interconnection region interconnected to each other, each battery interconnection sheet capable of connecting two rows of cells in series having their positive electrodes and negative electrodes arranged on the same side, and the number of battery interconnection sheets connecting a number of cells in the same row in parallel, thereby adapting to the interconnection requirements of different cell array types. An outer edge of the positive connection portion of each battery connecting sheet is arc-shaped, and a width of the negative connection portion is larger than a width of the positive connection portion. Therefore, in the disclosure, compared with conventional metal strips, the positive connection portion faces the positive electrode post of the cell and has a similar contour to the positive electrode post, so that connection is more stable and convenient. Furthermore, since the width of the negative connection portion is larger than the width of the positive connection portion, the negative connection portion is formed to connect the negative electrode in a circumferential direction of the positive electrode post, so that high structural strength is provided, larger tensile and compressive stresses can be endured, and breakage is unlikely. In addition, since the positive connection area of the battery connection plate is provided with a positioning hole, the battery connection plate can be conveniently positioned and fixed when the battery connection plate is removed using an auxiliary tool such asa clamp, carried or moved, a position of the battery connecting plate can be easily determined through the positioning hole, and then the battery connecting plate can be conveniently moved to a specific location, so that positioning between the battery connecting plate and the cell is accurate, thereby improving a connection effect between the battery connecting plate and the cell, and no internal stress occurs inside the battery connecting plate after welding with the positive electrode or the negative electrode of the cell, thereby avoiding the occurrence of wrinkles and even breakage caused by repeated tension or pressure of the battery connecting plate during long-term use of the battery module, and thus can ensure normal operation of the battery module.
[0007] The disclosure provides a battery module including a plurality of cells and the above bus bar assembly, wherein the plurality of cells are arranged in an array along a first direction and a second direction, wherein cells arranged along the first direction can be connected in series and cells arranged along the second direction can be connected in parallel through the bus bar assembly, wherein the bus bar assembly is capable of improving a connection strength between the plurality of cells and meanwhile firmly fixing the plurality of cells, resulting in good stability.
[0008] The disclosure further provides a battery pack including the above-mentioned battery module, wherein a connection between the plurality of cells in the battery module and the bus bar assembly is reliable and a fixing effect between the bus bar assembly and the plurality of cells is good, resulting in good stability. [0015] As in the Fig. 1-3, the embodiment provides a bus bar assembly including a battery interconnect plate 100, wherein the battery interconnect plate 100 includes a positive interconnect portion 110 and a negative interconnect portion 120 connected to each other, wherein a central axis of the positive interconnect portion 110 coincides with a central axis of the negative interconnect portion 120, wherein the battery interconnect plate 100 is capable of connecting in series two adjacent cells 300 arranged along a first direction, wherein the first direction comprises a Fig. 2 shown direction of the X-axis. The first direction is a direction in Fig. 2, and a positive electrode post 310 and a negative electrode 320 of the cell 300 are arranged on the same side. The positive terminal portion 110 of the battery terminal plate 100 is connected to the positive electrode post 310 of a previous cell 300, and the negative terminal portion 120 is connected to the negative electrode 320 of a next cell 300, so that the two adjacent cells 300 are connected in series. Moreover, in this embodiment, an outer edge of the positive connection portion 110 is arc-shaped, and the positive connection portion 110 faces the positive electrode post 310 of the cell 300 and has a similar contour, so that connection between the positive connection portion 110 and the positive electrode post 310 is more stable and convenient. The negative electrode 320 of the cell 300 is arranged in a ring shape on a periphery of the positive electrode pin 310, a width of the negative connection region 120 is greater than a width of the positive connection region 110, and the positive connection region 110 is in a smooth transition with the negative connection region 120, a contact area between the negative connection region 120 and the negative electrode 320 of the cell 300 is increased by expanding the width of the negative connection region 120, so that a connection structure is stable, and moreover, by using a relatively wide material, a structural strength of the battery connection plate 100 can be improved, so that the battery connection plate 100 is able to withstand relatively large tensile and compressive stresses without being prone to fracture.
[0016] Furthermore, in the embodiment, the positive terminal portion 110 of the battery terminal plate 100 is provided with a positioning hole 101, which facilitates positioning and fixing of the battery terminal plate 100. In one embodiment, the positioning hole 101 is arranged in the positive terminal portion 110 and is located on the central axis of the positive terminal portion 110. When an auxiliary tool, such asa clamp is formed for supporting or moving the battery connecting plate 100, a position of the battery connecting plate 100 can be easily determined through the positioning hole 101, so that the battery connecting plate 100 can be conveniently moved to a specific position, and after the battery connecting plate 100 is conveyed to the specific position, the positive connecting portion 110 is first aligned with a center of the positive electrode pin 310 of the cell 300 and then welded thereto, the negative connecting portion 120 is welded to the negative electrode 320 of the cell 300, and since the position of the battery connecting plate 100 is accurate, the negative connecting portion 120 is welded to the negative electrode 320 of the cell 300 after the positive connecting portion 110 and the negative connecting portion 120 are respectively aligned with the positive electrode pin 310 and the negative connecting portion 120.the negative electrode 320 are welded, the battery connection plate 100 is able to avoid being subjected to an oppositely directed torsional force on the battery connection plate 100 from the positive electrode pin 310 and the negative electrode 320, so that there is no internal stress within the battery connection plate 100, thereby ensuring a good connection effect between the battery connection plate 100 and the cell 300 and reducing the occurrence of wrinkles and even breakage caused by repeated tension or pressure of the battery connection plate 100 during long-term use of a battery module, thereby ensuring normal operation of the battery module.
[0017] Since the positive electrode post 310 protrudes from an end surface of the negative electrode 320, a height difference may exist between the positive terminal portion 110 of the battery terminal plate 100 and the negative electrode 320 when the battery terminal plate is connected to the positive electrode post 310 and the negative electrode 320. Therefore, in the embodiment, a height difference between the positive terminal portion 110 of the battery terminal plate 100 and the end surface of the negative electrode 320 is greater than a height difference between the negative terminal portion 120 and the end surface of the negative electrode 320.That is, the positive connection portion 110 is raised, thereby avoiding a situation in which the positive connection portion 110 is bent or broken due to the height difference between the positive electrode post 310 and the negative electrode 320 after the battery connection plate 100 is welded to the cell 300, and thus the connection between the cells 300 is more reliable. In one embodiment, a support block (not shown) is further arranged on a surface near the negative electrode 320 of the positive connection portion 110, the support block abuts against the positive connection portion 110 and the negative electrode 320 of the cell 300, respectively, and the support block is insulated from the positive connection portion 110 and the negative electrode 320, whereby the positive connection portion 110 of the battery terminal plate 100 is supported by the support block and a connection stability between the battery terminal plate 100 and the cell 300 is improved.
[0018] Of course, in some embodiments, the height difference between the positive connection region 110 and the negative connection region 120 may be formed by bending the negative connection region 120 toward a side where the negative electrode 320 of the cell 300 is located.
[0019] Referring to the Fig. 1-5, in some other embodiments, a first buffer portion 130 is disposed between the positive terminal portion 110 and the negative terminal portion 120 of the battery terminal plate 100. In one embodiment, the first buffer portion 130 is shaped like the Chinese character " " and can be manufactured by methods such as bending or punching, making it easy to process and having high production efficiency. Two ends of the first buffer portion 130 are respectively connected to the positive terminal portion 110 and the negative terminal portion 120 of the battery terminal plate 100, and a height of an end of the first buffer portion 130 connected to the positive terminal portion 110 is greater than a height of an end of the first buffer portion 130 connected to the negative terminal portion 120, so as to form the height difference between the positive terminal portion 110 and the negative terminal portion 120. When the battery module is assembled, the first buffer portion 130, which is shaped like the Chinese character " " can also accommodate an installation tolerance that exists after welding the battery terminal plate 100 and the cell 300. By changing the degree of bending of the first buffer section 130, which is shaped like the Chinese character " ", a relatively small installation tolerance is absorbed to avoid poor welding between the bus bar assembly and the cell 300 resulting from too large a height difference of the cell 300 during the production process and flatness of the sheet. And during use of the battery module, conditions such as impact may occur. At this time, the first buffer portion 130 is also capable of playing a role of buffering an impact to prevent relative displacement between the cells 300 that may be caused during a vibration process of the cells 300, thereby reducing the risk of breakage of the battery connecting sheet 100 and further improving the operational reliability of the battery connecting sheet 100.Furthermore, the construction of the first buffer portion 130 is capable of effectively absorbing an expansion force generated by the cell 300 during a charging and discharging process.
[0020] Furthermore, in the embodiment, the negative connection area 120 of the battery connecting plate 100 is provided with an escape portion 121. The escape portion 121 is an arcuate notch that fits the positive electrode post 310 of the cell 300, so that the escape portion 121 is able to avoid the positive electrode post 310 of the cell 300, thereby preventing the battery connecting plate 100 from conducting the positive electrode post 310 and the negative electrode 320 of the cell 300, which would cause a short circuit, and thus ensuring reliability and accuracy of the circuit connection. In one embodiment, the distance between two positive electrode posts 310 of two cells 300 arranged side by side along the first direction is greater than the distance between the center of the positive connection area 110 and an edge of the escape portion 121.Therefore, there is a gap between the negative connection portion 120 and the positive electrode pin 310, which prevents the negative connection portion 120 from coming into contact with the positive electrode pin 310 and causing a short circuit.
[0021] As in the Fig. 4-7, a plurality of battery connecting plates 100 are provided, the center axes of the positive connection portions 110 of the plurality of battery connecting plates 100 are parallel, and the plurality of battery connecting plates 100 are connected to each other so that a plurality of cells 300 in each row are connected in parallel. In one embodiment, each positive connection portion 110 is provided with a connecting arm 200, the positive connection portions 110 of the plurality of battery connecting plates 100 are connected by the connecting arm 200, there is an included angle between the connecting arm 200 and the center axis of the negative connection portion 120, and the plurality of battery connecting plates 100 are staggered from top to bottom. An insulating film is arranged on a surface near the negative electrode 320 of the positive terminal portion 110.The insulating film is also arranged on a surface near the negative electrode 320 of the connecting arm 200, thereby preventing the positive connection portion 110 and the connecting arm 200 from coming into contact with the negative electrode 320 and causing a short circuit.
[0022] As in Fig. 4, there is also a technical solution in which two battery connecting sheets 100 are connected to each other. Taking FIG. 4 as an example for the description, the positive connection region 110 and the negative connection region 120 of each battery connecting sheet 100 can be connected to positive electrode posts 310 and negative electrodes 320 of two adjacent cells 300 arranged along the first direction, respectively, so that the two cells 300 arranged along the first direction are connected in series. Meanwhile, positive connection regions 110 of the two battery connecting sheets 100 are connected to positive electrode posts 310 of the two adjacent cells 300 arranged along a second direction, and negative connection regions 120 of the two battery connecting sheets 100 are connected to negative electrodes 320 of the two adjacent cells 300.arranged along the second direction, so that two adjacent columns of cells 300 arranged along the second direction are connected in parallel, the first direction being the one shown in , Fig. 4 and the second direction is the direction shown in Fig. 4 is the Y-axis direction.
[0023] As in Fig. 5, it is a technical solution in which three battery connection plates 100 are connected to each other, and as shown in Fig. 6-7, this is a technical solution in which four battery connecting plates 100 are connected together. Since the battery connecting plate 100 in this embodiment is a standardized small unit component, the number of battery connecting plates 100 in the busbar assembly can be adjusted according to the number of rows and the number of columns of cells 300 in the battery module, so the flexible applicability is good and the processing and quality detection tools are universal, thereby reducing the investment of labor and financial resources and reducing costs.
[0024] In an embodiment relating to the Fig. 6-7, a second buffer portion 210 is disposed between two adjacent battery connecting plates 100 of the plurality of battery connecting plates 100, and two ends of the second buffer portion 210 are respectively connected to connecting arms 200 of the two adjacent battery connecting plates 100. By disposing the second buffer portion 210, an installation tolerance or impact between two columns of cells 300 arranged along the second direction can be absorbed, thereby further reducing the risk of breakage of the battery connecting plate 100 and improving the operational reliability of the battery connecting plate 100.
[0025] The embodiment provides a battery module including a plurality of cells 300 and the above bus bar assembly. The plurality of cells 300 are arranged in an array along the first direction and the second direction. Each battery connecting plate 100 of the bus bar assembly connects in series two adjacent cells 300 arranged along the first direction. Four battery connecting plates 100 connected to each other along the second direction connect in parallel a plurality of columns of cells 300 arranged along the second direction. That is, a current flows along the first direction and converges along the second direction. In the embodiment, the bus bar assembly is capable of improving the connection strength between the cells 300 and firmly fixing the cells 300, thus achieving good stability. In particular, the number of busbar assemblies and the number of battery connecting plates 100 in each busbar assembly can be adjusted according to the number of cells 300 in the battery module. Since the connecting plates of adjacent cells 300 are staggered from top to bottom in the embodiment, the cells 300 in adjacent rows in the battery module can be staggered, forming a herringbone structure between a number of continuous battery connecting plates 100. This arrangement can save the installation space of the battery module, making the battery module structure more compact and reducing assembly costs.
[0026] The embodiment further provides a battery pack including the above battery module, and a connection between the number of cells 300 and the bus bar assembly in the battery module is reliable, and a fixing effect between the bus bar assembly and the number of cells 300 is good, so that good stability is provided. Embodiment 2
[0027] The embodiment provides a busbar arrangement as shown in the Fig. 8-9, the bus bar assembly differs from the bus bar assembly in Embodiment 1 in that: the first buffer portion 130 of the battery connecting plate 100 is provided with a number of first current limiting holes 131, and the number of first current limiting holes 131 are evenly distributed on the first buffer portion 130.By providing the plurality of first current-limiting holes 131, a cross-sectional area of the first buffer portion 130 is smaller than the cross-sectional areas of the positive connection region 110 and the negative connection region 120, and when a temperature of a circuit is too high due to extreme conditions such as the occurrence of a short circuit in the circuit, the first buffer portion 130 can be melted by self-heating to quickly interrupt the current between the plurality of cells 300 to break a current loop, thereby protecting the circuit and preventing an explosion or fire, thus providing good safety performance.
[0028] A narrow neck is formed at the junction of the connecting arms 200 between the two battery connecting plates 100. When the circuit is subjected to extreme conditions, such as a short circuit, the narrow neck melts due to thermal stress concentration to interrupt the current in the circuit, thereby protecting the cells 300 connected to the battery connecting plates 100.
[0029] In this embodiment, in order to improve the melting response speed of the narrow neck when the circuit has extreme conditions such as a short circuit, the connecting arms 200 connected to two adjacent battery terminal plates 100 are provided with a second current limiting hole 220, and the second current limiting hole 220 is arranged in a middle position of the connecting arms 200. By providing the second current limiting hole 220, a cross-sectional area at the connecting arms 200 is reduced, and when the temperature of the circuit rises due to extreme conditions such as a short circuit, the second current limiting hole 220 can be used to reduce the cross-sectional area of the connecting arms 200.the occurrence of a short circuit in the circuit, is too high, the connecting arms 200 at the second current limiting hole 220 can be quickly fused by self-heating to quickly interrupt the current between adjacent rows of cells 300 and break the current loop, thereby protecting the current and improving safety performance.
[0030] In one embodiment, the first buffer portion 130 is coated with a low-melting point metal, and meanwhile, the connecting arm 200 is also coated with the low-melting point metal. The low-melting point metal is tin. When the circuit experiences extreme conditions such as a short circuit, the current in the circuit increases rapidly. This increase in current causes the temperature of the circuit to rise. As the temperature rises to melt the low-melting point metal, the resistance of a coating area of the low-melting point metal becomes large, so the temperatures of the first buffer portion 130 and the connecting arm 200 rapidly rise, and the low-melting point metal is melted within a few milliseconds. Then, the current is cut off to protect the circuit.By coating the low-melting metal, a double protection effect can be achieved for the circuit, further improving the safety performance.
[0031] The embodiment provides a battery module as shown in Fig. 10, which includes a number of cells 300 and the above bus bar arrangement, and the number of cells 300 are arranged in an array along the first direction and the second direction, the cells 300 arranged along the first direction can be connected in series, and the cells 300 arranged along the second direction can be connected in parallel by the bus bar arrangement, the first direction is the X-axis direction in Fig. 10, and the second direction is the Y-axis direction in Fig. 10. The bus bar arrangement in the embodiment is able to improve the connection strength between the number of cells 300 and meanwhile firmly fix the number of cells 300, so that the stability is good.
[0032] The embodiment further provides a battery pack including the above battery module, and the connection between the number of cells 300 and the bus bar assembly in the battery module is reliable, and the fixing effect between the bus bar assembly and the number of cells 300 is good, so that the stability is good.

[0043] The remaining structures of the embodiment are the same as in Embodiment 1, so details will not be described again here. Embodiment 5
[0044] The embodiment provides a busbar arrangement as shown in the Fig. 18-19, the busbar assembly comprises a number of battery connecting plates 100. Center axes of the number of battery connecting plates 100 are inclined to the right. Each battery connecting plate 100 comprises a positive connection region 110 and a negative connection region 120 that are connected to each other. A center axis of the positive connection region 110 coincides with a center axis of the negative connection region 120. Each battery connecting plate 100 is capable of connecting two adjacent cells 300 in series, of which a positive electrode and the negative electrode 320 are arranged on the same side. A center axis of the positive connection region 110 coincides with a center axis of the negative connection region 120. Each battery connecting plate 100 is capable of connecting two adjacent cells 300 in series.of which a positive electrode and the negative electrode 320 are arranged on the same side, wherein the positive connection region 110 of the battery connection plate 100 is connected to a positive electrode pin 310 of a previous cell 300 and the negative connection region 120 is connected to the negative electrode 320 of a next cell 300, so that the two adjacent cells 300 are connected in series, the two adjacent cells 300 connected in series are arranged to form an included angle with the first direction, and the first direction is the direction of the X-axis shown in , Fig. 19.
[0045] The number of battery connecting sheets 100 is capable of connecting two columns of cells 300 in adjacent rows in parallel, wherein the parallel connected cells 300 are arranged along the second direction, and the second direction is the Fig. 17. At this time, the connecting arms 200 on two adjacent battery connecting plates 100 are parallel to the center axes of the negative connecting portions 120 of the battery connecting plates 100, and the connecting arms 200 are parallel to an arrangement direction of the two adjacent cells 300 connected in series; the number of battery connecting plates 100 are on the same straight line, and the straight line is parallel to the second direction.
[0046] A first buffer portion 130 of the battery terminal plate 100 is provided with a number of first current-limiting holes 131, and the number of first current-limiting holes 131 is evenly distributed on the first buffer portion 130. By forming the number of first current-limiting holes 131, a cross-sectional area of the first buffer portion 130 is smaller than the cross-sectional areas of the positive connection portion 110 and the negative connection portion 120. When the temperature of the circuit is too high due to extreme conditions such as the occurrence of a short circuit in the circuit, the first buffer portion 130 can be melted by self-heating to quickly interrupt the current between the cells 300 and break a current loop, thereby protecting the circuit and preventing explosion or fire, so that the safety performance is good.
[0047] Meanwhile, a narrow neck is formed at the junction of the connecting arms 200 between two battery terminal plates 100. When the circuit encounters extreme conditions such as a short circuit, the narrow neck melts due to thermal stress concentration to interrupt the current in the circuit, thereby protecting the cells 300 connected to the battery terminal plates 100.
[0048] In this embodiment, in order to improve the response speed of melting the narrow neck when the circuit has extreme conditions such as a short circuit, the connecting arms 200 connected to two adjacent battery terminal plates 100 are provided with a second current limiting hole 220, and the second current limiting hole 220 is arranged in a middle position of the connecting arms 200.By providing the second current limiting hole 220, a cross-sectional area at the connecting arms 200 is reduced, and when the temperature of the circuit is too high due to extreme conditions such as the occurrence of a short circuit in the circuit, the connecting arms 200 can be quickly fused by self-heating at the second current limiting holes 220 to quickly interrupt the current between adjacent rows of cells 300 to break the current loop, thereby protecting the current and improving the safety performance.
[0049] In one embodiment, the first buffer portion 130 is coated with a low-melting-point metal, and meanwhile, the connecting arm 200 is also coated with the low-melting-point metal. The low-melting-point metal is tin. When the circuit experiences extreme conditions such as a short circuit, the current in the circuit increases rapidly. An increase in current causes a temperature rise of the circuit. As the temperature rises to melt the low-melting-point metal, a resistance of a coating area of the low-melting-point metal becomes large, so the temperatures of the first buffer portion 130 and the connecting arm 200 rapidly rise, and the low-melting-point metal is melted within a few milliseconds. Then, the current is cut off to protect the circuit.By coating the low-melting metal, a double protection effect can be achieved for the circuit, further improving the safety performance.
[0050] The embodiment provides a battery module as shown in Fig. 19, which includes a number of cells 300 and the above busbar arrangement, and the number of cells 300 are arranged in an array in a direction forming an included angle with the first direction and the second direction, the cells 300 arranged to form the included angle with the first direction are capable of being connected in series, and the cells 300 arranged along the second direction are capable of being connected in parallel through the busbar arrangement, the first direction is the X-axis direction in Fig. The first direction is the X-axis direction in Fig. 19, and the second direction is the Y-axis direction in Fig. 19. The bus bar arrangement in the embodiment is able to improve the connection strength between the number of cells 300 and meanwhile firmly fix the number of cells 300, so that the stability is good.
[0051] The embodiment further provides a battery pack including the above battery module, and the connection between the number of cells 300 and the bus bar assembly in the battery module is reliable, and the fixing effect between the bus bar assembly and the number of cells 300 is good, so that the stability is good.
