FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to an auxiliary device for the installation of doors, which is capable of effectively supporting the doors during the installation process, thereby eliminating the cause of accidents and alerting the user of the presence of an obstacle to the smooth transportation of the doors for installation. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] Doors and windows are installed in every home for ventilation or for entry and exit. Over time, the design of houses and doors has changed. The doors used today are very heavy, making installation difficult for the user. Many tools, such as the wooden bars of the handles, were used by the user to support the doors during the installation process, as any carelessness would result in significant losses.
[0003] Traditionally, ropes and wooden poles were used by the user to support the doors during the installation process. The ropes and poles must be manually attached to the doors by the user. This manual process of the support system requires a lot of time and effort. In some cases, the ropes detach from the doors, and the failure of the supports leads to loss of life and also hampers the process of installing the doors in homes. Therefore, there is a need for an invention that efficiently supports the doors during installation by eliminating human intervention.
[0004] CN211691300U discloses an invention whose utility model relates to the technical field of door and window installation. The utility model discloses a support device for the installation of building doors and windows. The device comprises a support plate, wherein the left side of the upper surface of the support plate is fixedly connected to the underside of a beam. The center of the upper surface of the support plate is fixedly connected to the lower end of a fixing plate. A through hole is formed in the right side of the upper surface of the support plate, and the front and rear sides of the through hole are rotatably connected to the two ends of a rotary shaft, respectively. The utility model discloses a support device for the installation of doors and windows in buildings.A drive motor, a first threaded rod, a DC motor, and a second threaded rod are arranged. The suction cup displacement in the horizontal and vertical directions is achieved, allowing doors and windows of different heights to be conveniently installed. Meanwhile, the suction cup spacing can be adjusted, eliminating the need for manual adjustment. Various door and window positions are fixed, improving the suction cup's adsorption stability, making door and window installation more convenient, and improving installation efficiency. While the CN'300 is capable of supporting the door during installation by gripping the lower part, the device cannot detect the thickness of the door being installed, making it difficult to assess the pressure applied for support.
[0005] CN209509942U discloses an invention, which discloses a support device for door frame installation with the utility model. The device comprises a wall body, a door frame, a bracket, a bracket, a wall body friction plate, a bracket bolt, a support plate, a pressure seat, a pressure plate, a pressure bolt, a pressure plate, a screw sleeve, a pressure rod screw rod, a rotating sleeve, and a clamping plate. The pressure bolt is rotated by rotating the handle; the front end of the pressure bolt is pressed against the rear surface of the wall body; the bracket is fixed to the wall body by the wall body friction plate and the pressure plate; the bracket bolt is rotated by the handle; the support plate supports the door frame upward. The pressure plate is clamped to the wall, the pressure rod screw is rotated to allow the threaded sleeve to move outward along the pressure rod screw, the pressure plate and the inner base of the door frame are pressed against the side wall of the wall doorway, and the door frame is secured in the wall doorway, making installation convenient. While the CN'942 is capable of supporting the door while it is being installed, the device does not detect the presence of obstacles in the path, and the doors will be damaged.
[0006] Conventionally, there are many devices on the market, as disclosed in the prior art, that assist in the installation of the door frames, but are not able to detect the thickness of the doors to be installed, which hinders the evaluation of the pressure applied for the assistance, and the device is also not able to monitor the presence of obstacles on the way.
[0007] To overcome the above-mentioned disadvantages, there is a need in the art to develop a device capable of effectively supporting doors during the installation process by monitoring their thickness. Furthermore, the device is also capable of monitoring the presence of obstacles along the path to ensure smooth door transport. OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION

[0020] As used herein, the singular forms “a,” “an,” and “the” refer to both the singular and the plural, unless explicitly stated that only the singular is meant.
[0021] The present invention relates to a door installation assist device capable of effectively assisting the doors during the installation process, thereby eliminating the cause of accidents and alerting the user of the existence of the obstacle to the smooth transfer of the doors for installation.
[0022] In the Fig. 1 and Fig.2 shows a perspective view of an auxiliary device for door assembly and a front view of a flap connected to the proposed device, comprising a rectangular base 101 with four motorized omnidirectional wheels 102 below the base 101, a pair of rectangular flaps 103 provided perpendicularly on the base 101, a pair of sliding units 104 attached to the base 101, a plurality of suction cups 201 provided on the inner surfaces of the flaps 103, an L-shaped telescopic arm 202 attached to each flap 103 by a ball joint 204, the arm 202 having a clamp 203 at the end, and an artificial intelligence, a plurality of suction cups 201 provided on the inner surfaces of the flaps 103, an L-shaped telescopic arm 202 attached to each flap 103 by a ball joint 204, the arm 202 has a terminal 203 at the end, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 105,which is installed on the base 101, a speaker 106 provided on the base 101, and a microphone 107 provided on the base 101.
[0023] The proposed device comprises a rectangular base 101 with four motorized omnidirectional wheels 102 located below the base 101 for moving the base 101. The motorized omnidirectional wheels 102 are the type of wheels 102 with small discs, ideally known as rollers, and are equipped with a motor connected to a microcontroller. When actuated, the microcontroller controls the movement of the motor to rotate the roller circumferentially, forming a rotation perpendicular to the direction of rotation to allow the base 101 to move, allowing it to maneuver in any direction.
[0024] Further, a pair of rectangular flaps 103 are provided perpendicularly on the base 101, arranged on a pair of sliding units 104 fixed to the base 101. The sliding units 104 comprise the sliding rack and rail, such that the flaps 103 are mounted over the racks, which are electronically operated by the microcontroller to move along the rails. The sliding unit 104 is driven by a DC motor, which is actuated by the microcontroller by providing the required electrical current to the motor. The motor consists of a coil that converts the received electrical current into mechanical force by generating a magnetic field, such that the mechanical force provides the required power to the rack to enable the movement of the pair of rectangular flaps 103.
[0025] A plurality of suction cups 201, numbered 4 to 6, are provided on the inside of the flaps 103 to grip a door placed between the flaps 103 on the base 101. When pressed over the door, the suction cups 201 create a vacuum in the suction cups 105 by forcing the air out of the suction cups 105, as a vacuum is created in the suction area. The atmospheric pressure outside the suction cup 5 presses on the vacuum area inside the unit to create a vacuum that holds the door between the flaps 103.
[0026] An ultrasonic sensor is mounted on the base 101 to detect the thickness of the door. The ultrasonic sensor consists of a transducer that acts as both a transmitter and a receiver, working together to detect the thickness of the door being installed. The transducer typically contains a piezoelectric crystal or similar material. When an electrical signal is applied to the crystal, it vibrates at a high frequency, typically in the ultrasonic range above 20 kHz. When the transducer is activated, it converts the electrical energy into mechanical vibrations or waves. These vibrations are transmitted into the door as a focused beam of ultrasonic waves. The ultrasonic waves propagate outward from the transducer in a cone shape.
[0027] The same transducer that acted as a transmitter to emit the waves now works as a receiver. It detects the reflected waves that bounce off the door surface and converts them into an electrical signal. The sensor measures the time it takes for the ultrasonic waves to travel from the sensor to the wall. The ultrasonic sensor now starts a timer when the waves are emitted and stops it when the reflected waves are detected. The elapsed time is called the "time of flight" (TOF). Using the known travel time of the sound in the medium through which the waves travel, the microcontroller determines the thickness of the door. Based on the detected thickness of the door, the microcontroller actuates the sliding units 104 to grip the door with the suction cups 201.
[0028] In addition, an L-shaped telescopic arm 202 is attached to each flap 3 via a ball joint 204, at the end of which is a clamp 203 to hold two edges of the door during an installation process. The L-shaped telescopic arm 202 is driven by a pneumatic unit consisting of a compressor filled with compressed air valves and the piston attached to the L-shaped telescopic arm 202, which controls the orientations such as the extension and retraction of the L-shaped telescopic arm 202.
[0029] The pneumatic unit also includes air valves and a piston attached to the L-shaped telescopic arm 202. The piston is coupled to the L-shaped telescopic arm 202 and forces the compressed air delivered by the compressor through the L-shaped telescopic arm 202. The valves used here are air valves installed between the compressor and the piston. When actuated, they allow the compressed air to be released through the piston, resulting in the extension / retraction of the L-shaped telescopic arm 202, which is connected to the base 101 by a ball joint 204.
[0030] The ball joint 204 includes a microcontroller-driven motor that generates electric current, a spherical element, and a socket. The ball is freely movable within the socket. The motor rotates the ball in various directions controlled by the microcontroller, which also commands the motor to precisely position the ball. The microcontroller also controls the motor to generate electric current so that it rotates within the joint to move the L-shaped telescopic arm 202, the end of which serves as a clamp 203 to hold the two edges of the door during door installation.
[0031] Furthermore, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 105 is installed on the base 101 in synchronization with a level sensor and integrated with a processor for capturing and processing images of the surroundings of the base 101 to determine a position of the door frame. The artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 105 is constructed with a camera lens and a processor, wherein the camera lens is capable of capturing a series of images of the surroundings of the base 101. The processor performs a series of image processing operations, including preprocessing, feature extraction, and classification. The image captured by the artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 105 is a real-time image of the surroundings of the base. The artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 105 transmits the captured image of the door frame signal in the form of digital bits to the microcontroller to determine the position of the door.
[0032] The microcontroller, which receives the signal, processes it in coordination with the level sensor, which determines the height of the positioned door. The level sensor used here sends a light to the specific location on the base 101 where the door is to be placed during the door installation process. Once the light is emitted, the transducer, which acts as a transmitter, begins working as a receiver and waits for the light to be reflected back after hitting the surface of the base 101. This reflected light is detected by the sensor module and converted into an electrical signal. This electrical signal is then forwarded to the microcontroller.
[0033] Upon receiving the signal and using the captured image, the microcontroller determines the positioning of the door at the required height on the base 101 and operates the wheels 102 and the telescopic arm 202 to align the door with the frame for installation of the door in the frame.
[0034] The base 101 receives an audio command from a user regarding the alignment of the door with the door frame. The microphone 107 is an electronic unit that converts sound vibrations in the air into an electronic signal and transmits it to a microcontroller. The microphone 107 consists of a diaphragm and a magnet wound with a coil. When the user gives voice commands regarding the installation of the door frame, the sound wave hits the diaphragm. This causes the coils to move back and forth in the field of the magnet, generating an electric current. The electrical current is transmitted to the microcontroller, which extracts the command to install the door frame and operates the imaging unit 105 in synchronization with the level sensor to determine the position of the door frame and cause the microcontroller to operate the wheels 102 and the telescopic arm 202 to align the door with the frame and install the door into the frame.
[0035] Additionally, a wireless communication module connected to the microcontroller is provided on the base 101 to allow the user to remotely trigger the microcontroller by connecting to a computing unit. The computing unit includes, among other things, a mobile phone and a laptop with a processor that stores the alarm received from the microcontroller, processes the output data, and retrieves it for display in the computing unit. The microcontroller is wirelessly connected to the computing unit via the communication module, which includes, among other things, a Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) module and a Bluetooth module. GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications).
[0036] The communication module acts as a medium between the user and the device, processing the inputs provided by the user and causing the microcontroller to operate the imaging unit 105 in synchronization with the level sensor to determine the position of the door frame and causing the microcontroller to operate the wheels 102 and the telescopic arm 202 to position the door aligned with the frame so that the door can be installed into the frame.
[0037] Next, a proximity sensor provided on the base 101 detects an obstacle in front of the base 101. The proximity sensor consists of a transducer, and the proximity sensor operates by emitting a sound wave with a frequency above the human hearing range. The sensor's transducer acts as both a sound receiver and a sound transmitter to receive and transmit the ultrasonic wave, respectively. When the transducer emits the sound wave, it encounters an obstacle located near the base 101 and is reflected back to the transducer. The proximity sensor then analyzes the distance of the obstacle from the base 101 by measuring the time intervals between the transmission and reception of the sound wave. When the proximity sensor analyzes the distance, it converts the measured distance into an electrical signal and transmits this signal to the microcontroller.
[0038] Upon receiving the signal, the microcontroller analyzes the signal to confirm the presence of the obstacle and drives a speaker 106 provided on the base 101 to generate an audible alert to the user regarding the removal of the obstacle. The speaker 106 used here works by converting electrical energy into sound energy. When the electrical current is sent from the microcontroller, a coil on a magnet of the speaker 106 induces a magnetic field. This causes a diaphragm to reciprocate, creating pressure waves in the air that the user perceives as sound, alerting the user to remove the obstacle and assisting in the smooth installation of the door.
[0039] Finally, a battery is installed in the device which is connected to the microcontroller that supplies power to all the electrically operated components that require a certain amount of electrical energy to perform their functions and operate in an efficient manner. The battery used here is usually a dry battery, which is made of lithium-ion material and provides the device with a long lifespan along with an efficient direct current that helps all the components to function properly and efficiently. Since the device is battery-operated, it does not require any electrical voltage for its operation. The presence of a battery leads to the mobility of the device, meaning the user can carry and move the system from one place to another as per their need.
[0040] The present invention works best in the following manner, where the rectangular base 101 with four motorized omnidirectional wheels 102 assists the base 101 for movement. The pair of rectangular flaps 103, arranged on the pair of sliding units 104 with a plurality of suction cups 201, grip the door placed between the flaps 103 on the base 101. The ultrasonic sensor detects the thickness of the door, allowing the sliding units 104 to grip the door with the suction cups 201 according to the detected thickness. The L-shaped telescopic arm 202 with the clamp 203 holds the two edges of the door during installation. The artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 105, in synchronization with the level sensor, determines the position of the door frame, which actuates the wheels 102 and the telescopic arm 202 to position the door aligned with the frame so that the door can be installed in the frame.
[0041] Subsequently, the microphone 107 receives the user's command and controls the device to assist the door during installation. The entire function of the doors is remotely controlled by the user through the communication module connected to the processing unit. The proximity sensor detects the obstacle in front of the base 101, which instructs the loudspeaker 106 to generate an audible warning for the user regarding the removal of the obstacle.
[0042] Although the scope of the invention has been described herein with limited reference to specific embodiments, this description is not intended to be construed in a limiting sense. Various modifications of the disclosed embodiments, as well as alternative embodiments of the invention, will become apparent to those skilled in the art upon reference to the description of the invention.
