Abstract
Description
Technical area
[0001] The invention relates to wind turbines for converting wind pressure into usable energy. In particular, it relates to a building concept for generating controlled pressure differences and their utilization through special rotor arrangements. State of the art
[0002] Known are: - Wind turbines with free-standing rotors (state of the art) - Throttle valves for flow control in ventilation technology (previously known, not inventive) - Pressure difference systems in wind tunnels Object of the invention
[0003] A system should be created that: 1. Wind pressure increased by building geometry 2. Regardless of wind direction 3. Higher energy density than conventional systems achieved 4. Releases pressure energy in a controlled manner Solution
[0004] Core Innovation 1: Pressure-reinforcing building structure - Building body with closed roof and side surfaces - Previously known throttle valves on intake sides (not inventive) - Pressure outlet openings with rotor units
[0005] Core innovation 2: Bidirectional rotor pair arrangement - Opposite rotors on a common shaft - Rotor blades with stabilizing cross connections - Wind direction independent torque due to complementary flow Working principle 1. Wind (W) flows through throttle valves into the building interior → pressure build-up (P_int > P_amb) 2. Pressure drop at outlet openings accelerates air flow 3. Rotor pairs convert flow energy into torque: - In westerly winds: rotor primarily active in the east - In easterly winds: rotor primarily active in the west 4. Generator converts wave energy into electricity Advantages - Pressure amplification by a factor of 1.8-2.5 compared to free-field flow - Surface effect due to building structure (higher energy yield / m 2 ) - Redundancy through distributed rotor units - Lower tower head masses than conventional wind turbines Reason for novelty
[0006] The combinatorial innovation lies in: - Use of building geometry as a pressure amplifier - Bidirectional rotor pairs with a common shaft - Synergy effect by combining both principles Critical demarcations: - Opposite US20180128235A (single rotor in building opening) - Compared to DE102016206258A (pressure difference system without rotor pairs) - Throttle valves are prior art (e.g. DE202008009054U1) QUOTES CONTAINED IN THE DESCRIPTION
