More specifically, the invention relates to a semi-solid, Vaseline-based cosmetic composition containing a high concentration of fragrances and characterized by a prolonged fragrance effect and simple, economical production.

Conventional perfume formulations are often based on alcoholic solutions, which are volatile and evaporate quickly, meaning the fragrance effect often lasts only a short time. While there are also perfumed ointments or balms based on petrolatum (petroleum jelly), these generally contain only small amounts of fragrances or lack optimized evaporation characteristics. Furthermore, the balance between sensory comfort, stability, and fragrance intensity can be unbalanced in conventional formulations.
[0003] Against this background, the invention seeks to provide an improved cosmetic fragrance composition that offers a high fragrance intensity while simultaneously effectively delaying the evaporation of the fragrance molecules to significantly prolong the fragrance effect. The composition should also be easy to apply, provide a pleasant skin sensation, and be efficiently produced on an industrial scale.
[0004] This task is solved by a semi-solid composition comprising: • 70-90 wt% Vaseline (petrolatum) as a carrier substance, • 10-30% by weight of one or more fragrances selected from the group consisting of Iso E Super, Ambroxan, Hedione or structurally related molecules.
[0005] Due to its lipophilic and occlusive properties, Vaseline is particularly suitable for slowing the release of fragrance molecules into the environment. By forming a thin, waterproof layer on the skin, the evaporation of the fragrances contained within is released in a controlled manner, resulting in a prolonged fragrance effect. At the same time, the skin is slightly rehydrated without leaving a sticky feeling.
[0006] The composition according to the invention is prepared by heating the petroleum jelly to approximately 60-70°C, which liquefies it. The selected fragrances are then incorporated homogeneously while stirring continuously. The finished mixture is then poured into sterile cosmetic jars or sticks and cooled at room temperature to a solid to ointment-like consistency. It may be advantageous to seal the containers airtight to minimize oxidation and the loss of volatile components.

[0010] Further advantages of the invention include simple and cost-effective manufacturing, the storage stability of the finished products, and the ability to create customized fragrances by blending different fragrance molecules. The formulation deliberately contains no volatile alcohols, making it particularly suitable for sensitive skin types and for use in alcohol-free cosmetics.
[0011] Overall, the invention represents a novel solution to the problem of short fragrance duration in cosmetic products and enables the production of highly effective, user-friendly and stable fragrance formulations.
Claims
[1] Cosmetic composition in semi-solid form, comprising: • 70 to 90% by weight Vaseline (petrolatum) as a carrier, • 10 to 30% by weight of at least one fragrance selected from the group consisting of Iso E Super, Ambroxan, Hedione or their functional derivatives, characterized by that the occlusive properties of Vaseline significantly delay the evaporation of the fragrances it contains and improve olfactory perception over a prolonged period of time.
